Izaya closed his eyes and tried to rest some more while taking in and processing everything he had been told. He could get by with this, he figured.

But with Faleen... To his ex-partner, if he had to be labeled as alive or dead, she probably considered him dead. His hope that they might ever understand one another on any level left with the agent as she exited the room.

She didn't want to, he couldn't make her, and that was that. Too bad his tear ducts hadn't been removed with his eye.
