Vale was a bit glad she listened to him without any attitude. He was beginning to believe she was a lot nicer than she acted towards him. But then again, he did provoke her first so it was understandable. Hearing the compliment aimed toward the late Queen made him smile sheepishly. He loved to hear great words about his mother. And even after that, Vale began to smirk at the princess, "Good. I'm glad my stupidity has such an affect on you. But you'd be surprised, princess. Where do you think I get this stupidity from? My mother acted like a child at times as well." He said seeing as she had caught up to him rather quickly. It seems she could ride pretty well which was not surprising at all to the prince. "Sometimes even the king couldn't handle her." He laughed up until a moment later.
Soon, his eyes widened a bit at the confession the female Fae gave him. She lost her mother as well? This gave Vale a small shock. Although the two had many, many differences, one grief he could truly share with her was this loss of a maternal figure. Vale didn't understand why his grief would have more of an impact, though. Anyone losing a mother, someone who births them, gives them life, would feel that empty pit in their heart. The pit Vale felt every time his mother was mentioned. He too wanted to ask about her mother, but of course, it was probably a tense subject for her as well. However, he did wish to know what would make their events any different from each other. He looked slightly perplexed at the princess and then back in front of them. "May I ask why that is?" He said monotonously and gazing back to the princess.
As he did this, he noticed she was touching Ahlerich's hip. He saw the faint glow, just as her hand did when attempting to revive the plants in the garden. But why would she be doing this to a creature? Vale thought she could only do things like that with plants. Ah, but the Faes are connected with nature. Even with this knowledge, he questioned what her intent was. This concerned Vale and he stopped Windago abruptly, him whinning once more. He looked sternly at the princess, "What are you doing to Ahlerich?" He asked, studying Ahlerich's frame to make sure nothing has changed. Some bystanders watched intently, but Vale pushed the thought of them from his mind and focused on his mother's horse. Vale didn't believe she was harming Ahlerich, but since he hadn't let anyone even touch him, he was a bit scared deep down. This was almost like the fear most humans had with Fae. Even after observing her up close, even the prince had his concerns with how she could use these abilities of hers. He took a breath and calmed himself, remembering her promise take care of Ahlerich. "Why were you're hands glowing?" He asked again, with less harshness and more curiosity in his voice.

"Who knows, you could have gotten it from your father." She shrugged and looked at the grass as her magic got to work. It might not have been noticeable but she had just given it a life boost, nothing much but important none the less. It'd help slow down the grass dying so easily later on. She laughed a little at the fact that even the king had issues handling his mother, it sounded a bit like her when she was younger. Before she realized that if she didn't abide by certain things that her position as heir was going to be in danger.
She expected as much of him to ask, maybe it was because she had asked him that he felt obligated to do so, whatever the case she shrugged. While she had always gotten upset others walked over what her mother did in her stories she never had the emotional bound to her being. Having never known her she couldn't say she knew her mother like her did. She had no personal experience with her and in a way she was just a person who knew of her mother. "We Fae, female Faes, have issues bearing children." She shook her head that wasn't the right way to put it "We can have children but the rates of the mother surviving with the child is high just like the rate of having the mother and child both not survive the process. You could say its natures way of making sure we don't over populate because of our long lives. My mother was just another case of that. She died during giving birth to me so I never met her." She let her magic die down and stop, the glowing slowly fading. "I've only ever heard stories of her but she was amazing for the short time she was Queen. My half siblings have a different mother, the current Queen on Zimid."
She paused and sighed a bit. She was honestly jealous of her younger siblings. "From the things I've heard about mom she used to be a people favorite also. The council was half for her but respected her enough not to go against her. She made it known she'd want me to be Queen but since my father remarried the new Queen has become a council favorite. Which is dangerous for me since it'll be easier for my sister to get power." She furrowed her brows together. Zimid's royal family was secretly in a mess, while to many of the people it seemed nothing more then a little family arguement there was so much more going on. "I've tried to get some sense of a personal connection with mother by taking on some of her habits but it's not the same." She shrugged once again, she didn't mean to sound uncaring about the subject she just couldn't say anything as well as the Prince.
His reaction to the magic wasn't surprising. "He's fine, it's just magic. Horses and the likes don't mind it as it is nature. It's just easier for me to do magic with his help." She patted the horse on the hip letting the connection fall and the glow disappear. "There all done. Thank you Ahlerich." he horse neighed in reply to her. "It's the same magic that I used in the garden. It's not dangerous I could use it on you too." How could she explain the magic to him without completely losing him? Maybe at another time she would bother to explain when he learned more about the Fae but until then maybe it was to early.
Considering Vale wasn't very friendly with his father, he didn't care for the comment much, but she may have been right. His father has made some decisions that would make others question his intellect, even his own son. Vale never knew what went through that man's mind. The king has always lived in a personal solitude that no one could penetrate. Well, only one, being his mother, the only woman who could see through anyone. Vale listened intently to the princess as she explained how her mother died and why this happened. It sort of reminded him about the birth rates in Toryn. The mother would most likely survive bearing four or more children, however maybe one or two of those children actually survived to adulthood. But this was mostly because of our lack of medical material. However, hearing about the Fae's life span, and the rates of birth gave Vale a sense of realism. Fae were not all too different from humans. Yes, they were of another race, but the princess was right. They weren't too far off like the stories suggested.
Vale smiled softly while hearing more about her mother, about the stories she's heard of her. She must've been a fine queen, well respected and loved by her people. But he realized that even though the Fae appeared elegant and perfect, even their royal family had quite a bit of conflict in it. She had spoken of the queen before, and just as he remembered, she sounded like a pain. Vale noticed how much the princess wished to be queen, and is even marrying a total stranger to get the council to favor her. Vale nodded in understanding while she spoke, trying to conjure up a reply for her. She was trying to follow her mother's steps. Vale wouldn't lie that he tried doing so as well, but Vale wasn't much of a people person, nor did he care much about them as she did.
At this point, although Vale was still a bit reluctant, he trusted the princess to take care of Ahlerich, and by the looks of it, he seemed almost please and that's all Vale wanted. Vale blinked at her, thought not surprised, just slightly worried. He laughed, "I'd prefer you not use your magic on me." He said in between and begun his trot once more. "But, I suppose I can see it's not harmless..." He looked over his shoulder, "So, I assume you're able to produce magic that is harmful, correct or no?" He asked with a slight uncertainty, wondering if it was to be considered another dumb question out of the prince's mouth.

She laughed at the Prince's statement on not using magic on him. "Suit yourself." It was funny how yesterday they were at each other's throats practically and here they were laughing with each other. Maybe she was getting comfortable, to could only imagine how her father would react to find out that she hadn't been trying to progress her duty but instead was getting closer to the Prince. She was glad he was finally coming to see magic wasn't dangerous in nature but it was dangerous when the intent of what it was being used for wasn't right. Magic was like any other given tool, the way one used it determined the intent. While the Fae did use dangerous magic, they had mainly only used it in war or in magic tournaments. The Fae were ones for expanding their magical powers and knowing what they could do and what they couldn't do, because of that they held contests against each other annually. Some were to a friendly battle against each other while others were competing against each other to test their natural talent of earthy magic.
The Prince's question on if she was able to produce harmful magic was a good one. She'd have to word it carefully to avoid feeding into the misbelief that the Fae only used magic to harm. "Yes, I can. Do I do it often? No, I've only really used harmful magic in my lessons other than that I don't and neither do the other Fae outside of war or magic tournaments. " Would her answer good enough? While she'd prefer him being informed she didn't necessarily want him to fear getting zapped by her, though she still remembered how tempting the thought of setting him on fire would have been when she first arrived. She turned her head away from him and snickered lightly. The idea was amusing none the less but it wasn't as hate filled as it had been. She calmed herself before looking around, still humans starred. Did all they want to do was stare or were they going to say something? While she didn't feel awkward at being stared at it was just weird that they were staring at her for so long. She tried her best to shrug off the feeling though and turned her attention back to the Prince.
The wind created by riding felt nice, she loved the feeling of being in motion like this. While she loved gardening the act of riding was something fun, the way the wind blew when one rode or even the way the world looked when she was on horseback. Whatever the case riding was something that she believed all Fae liked some way or another. She hadn't met a Fae yet that didn't ride or hadn't at least once or twice. The thought of riding made her remember that the Prince jousted. While she still wasn't interested in watching him joust she did wonder a bit on why humans liked to do such things like joust. "You said you jousted did you not? Do you like jousting?" Then again the question could be aimed back at her for her magic tournaments.
Vale was a bit surprised when he witnessed the princess's attitude change. She hated his guts just hours ago, along with a snarky comment for every response. Now, she was actually laughing and in a way, it was a nice sight to see. A great one, in fact. He could probably start getting her to become comfortable around him and maybe their political marriage won't be as dismal as he thought it would be. And with her being Fae, he could learn everything about them. Vale has been wondering if maybe once he obtained more information on the Fae, he could tell the commoners of it to help clear suspicions and assumptions they've had about the Fae. He pondered on the effect it would make on them, considering the average human was absolutely close-minded. Perhaps he could create a positive view of the Fae and the childish bickering between kingdoms would finally cease. But, as much as he would love to simply spread the word, he didn't know how he would do it to where they would even listen. Vale knew the commoners didn't like him much. Besides his child-like personality, he was almost the opposite of his mother. He wasn't social except when he was jousting, but even then, he was just being competitive, since losing wasn't his cup of tea. He even had a couple affairs with the towns women, so they especially didn't like him. Maybe he could get the princess herself to educate them.
Though this was just an idea, he could really see something like this to be a positive action. As he thought this, the Fae princess responded to his earlier question. Vale furrowed his brows. Magic tournaments? Is that some sort of magical gladiator fight? Vale was quite intrigued with this mention of magic tournaments. And not only that, he was surprised she hadn't used any harmful on him yet. Vale nodded, "I see. Faes are truly a wonder." He started and looked to the princess, "Now what are these Tournaments you speak of? Sounds exciting." He said with a hint of eagerness in his voice. Speaking of sports, the princess asked him about his jousting hobby and he grinned widely. "I wouldn't joust if I didn't like it, princess! In fact, I love it. I believe it to be a battle of wits more so than brawn as people like to think." Vale paused as his gaze wandered over to the jousting fields, feeling his heartbeat in his ears. "The angle of your lance, the perfect speed, detecting the weak points on your opponent. Predicting your opponents moves and counter attacking at the right time. And whether you're the one knocked off or you take down the opposed, it's quite the adrenaline rush. " He looked back over to Eleanora, with bright eyes. If there was one thing Vale loved most, it was this. The pain, the rush, the anxiety. He felt as if he were a father bragging of his son's accomplishments. And with this whole magic tournament the princess was speaking of, he wouldn't mind getting interested in another activity.
Suddenly, the question of if any bystander would engage was soon answered. A small group of young males gathered around the prince and princess on their sturdy horses. They trotted at the two's pace in which the one adjacent to Vale spoke first. He was a husky man with a large beard and compared to the attire the prince and princess wore, his clothing could almost be considered tattered. He started with a deep chuckle, "My Leige!" Vale glared at the man from the corner of his eye, his disgust apparent. "We haven't seen you out of the castle and within public eye since the war began! What brings you and...." The husky male paused and looked over to the princess with a displeasing eye, "The Fae...out riding? Perhaps you came to attend a match? " He asked giving Vale his full attention while the other men huddled around looked at the princess. One scrawnier man rode up to her, closer than horses should normally be. "For a Fae she isn't half bad looking, prince Vale. I see they've caught you a fine one so that your children will have the beauty of Aphrodite!" He laughed, as well as the other men in the group. He even reached out to mischievously tug at her dress. Vale looked to the husked male with a stern look, "No. Not today, I'm simply having a ride with the princ-" Vale was interrupted by yet another male riding closely behind. "You're quite brave, young prince! To have to marry a Fae, you're seen as courageous in the commonns now!" He said and the men continued to carry on and cheer.
This was getting ridiculous. Vale exhaled deeply and held fast to Windago's reins. "I will only ask you once...Be on your way." He uttered with strong feelings of repugnance. This made their hooping and hollering quiet and made the men disperse slightly from the two. They muttered, wishing to be defiant but kept their heads low. At least all but one did. The husk body simply glared threateningly at Vale. Truth was, the only reason this man even dared to go against a royal was because of his past friendship with his mother. Vale knew this, but disliked the man regardless. "Good luck." He stated, looking over to the princess as if she were unsightly. Vale glared back with him until he broke the gaze and, with the rest of his group, raced on ahead of the pair. Vale wanted to retort, wanted to tell them to stop speaking as if she were a mere dog. But he figured that wouldn't solve anything. To think Vale was like them just yesterday, thinking of the Fae as if they were completely alienated from humans. Thinking that they were nothing but a thorn in Toryn's side and that he would have to live the rest of his life in dread. With learning about the princess, his mind became a bit more open to what she hated about humans. He was beginning to understand. He glanced over to her, sighing softly, "I apologize, princess..." Was all he could really say at the moment. He couldn't bad mouth them since he was just like them until provided the opportunity to understand the Fae.

So he wanted to know what a magic tournament was? He was honestly interested in magic? She found it a bit hard to believe he'd be interested in it but at least he wanted to know more about what the Fae did in entertainment events. "A magic tournament when the best of the best magic Fae come and use their magic against each other. Much of the time they face off and see who is the best, the winner gets a prize. The usual sort of tournament only with magic." The magic tournament for her, was entertaining. The way the sky lit up with lightning, the way flames were casted in elegant shows of power. The magic in which the Fae used was beautiful as well as powerful and amazed everyone, the competition was a show of magic strength as it was showing beauty. Her quick summary was soon overshadowed by his enthusiasm for jousting. Was jousting just that interesting? So one needed skill to do joust? "Wit huh? Oh I'm sure you're great at it then." She was sarcastic but she was joking all the same. Teasing him bit for all the timeShe s he had done to her.
She was going to say something more, something about jousting, but her words were stifled down when a few civilians rode up to them. One got uncomfortably close to her while another went to the Prince's side. They were not only rude but irritating. She straightened her back more then she would have, annoyed to much. to honestly want to even think about wasting her time on them. There was another male but her only concern was the male riding next to her that practically breathed down her neck. Their words hurt, but she wasn't not used to their talk. The Fae had always received such words since the war started so she wasn't unfamiliar to it but it had been years since she last heard such things. To think her people had to deal with this was infuriating. While one human pulled at her dress she felt the strong urge to hurt him for his stupidity. Another even made the remark that the prince was brave to marry a Fae like her. She bit her tongue though, if she back talked them now she might corner herself into a hole later on but was it hard. Thankfully the three men left humans really were detestable. They were rude and they were self-centered. The three men acted as sort of a reminder to what she hated and to what she wanted to change. If they were that rude to her, it must have been worse for the common Fae.
She felt grateful to the Prince non the less for saying something before she had. She nodded her head to the Prince's apology. She gave him a solemn smile. "Thank you. I'll be heading back to the castle. It should be about time for time. Care to join?" While she enjoyed the ride her mood had been affected a bit by the rude encounter but she had asked for it. She shrugged off the unpleasant feelings and reared Ahlerich to the side, having him head back to the dirt path that brought them to the field. She had work to do, and it was something she'd prefer to do then to keep riding and allowing more rude comments to affect her or the Prince. She had to worry a bit though. The Prince had treated in a much bolder way just like them had yesterday. If he were to still think like that it made her really wonder if she was putting a false trust in him. She shook her head. It was confusing, going from hating to him to hating him less in the span of the day. While it was unbelievable it had happened to the point she was able to talk to him without saying some sort of insult she wasn't sure if it was ok. Was she upset at the thought he could just be acting to like her for the sake of the truce? It wasn't impossible but part of her wanted to say no, he didn't seem like the type to put on a front but she didn't exactly know him for a long time.
Ahlerich gave an upset whine on her behalf. She gave him a gentle pat, she was over thinking their relationship. They were in a contract marriage his or her feelings had nothing to do with it, he had no real ties to her other than that. She took her mind off the matter though, she'd think more on the facts later tonight when she had time to spare. Her mind was put to the plants and to tea. What type was going to be waiting for her? Flynn had grown to know the Princess's tastes when it came to tea so she was never disappointed but who knew what the humans had available as of now.
Magic against each other? Vale's prediction was right, it really did sound like an exciting event. And for something like that to take place within a Fae kingdom? Vale was about a mumble away before asking if he could attend one day. Vale also wondered what type of prize they would have in mind. Of course, as humans, our prizes always contain money. Gold, silver pieces, or any other valuables could always spark up a good event in Toryn. But Vale felt it might have been different in the Zimid kingdom. Of, course he could be wrong about that but Vale felt he didn't need to ask such a dull question, since it may make him appear too intrigued with whatever prizes they set out for the winner. Vale smirked at her sarcastic joke and in a way, it made Vale a bit warm inside. She really was beginning to open up to him. She was joking along with him now, and her sarcasm wasn't as brutal, but more playful. He liked her better this way, it made their atmosphere a bit less uncomfortable.
Vale thought of how impudent those men were and what he could do the keep them in check next time he saw them. The least they could have done was shown some respect to her as a princess. But, of course with her being Fae, it apparently changed affected that ability. Vale nodded to the princess, agreeing that it was probably time to head back inside. "Well, well! To be invited by the beautiful princess of Zimid! I'm so very honored and do humbly accept!" He exclaimed jokingly, making a full U-turn on Windago and following the princess back to the dirt path. As he did this, Vale wondered when would be a good time to question an adviser about the wedding. Not only did he not know when it was to commence but where the ceremony was to take place. Vale figured it was going to be in front of the kingdom, but Vale didn't really want that. The last thing he wanted was for the entire kingdom to be there staring at the two with distasteful looks when they were being forced to marry for their sake. Perhaps when the princess desired her space he would take the time to interrogate.
Vale rode ahead and back to where the stables were. He halted Windago in front the entrance and descended from the saddle. He held the reins in one hand and led his trusted steed back into his personal pen. Before exiting his pen and gave his dark horse and swell pet on the neck and an ear scratch as well as giving him a treat, which were contained in a basket on the side wall of his pen. He closed Windago's gate and left through the entrance of the stables once more. He waited out side of the stables for her to place Ahlerich back in his stable as well and to escort her to wherever she planned to have tea.

Eleanora had somewhat expected him to accept her offer to come jin her for tea. Another eye roll was granted to him by the princess. He always needed to add on extra to things that could easily be answered by a yes or no but it was amusing at times if not a little annoying. The two rode together for a short time before ethe Prince took off to the castle before her. She was happy at the leisurely pace she took, it was nice having the alone time. She had often enjoyed times like this when she rode and went to the garden back in Zimid. 'Zimid' She missed home a bit. She missed her castle and she missed her garden. Maybe she could work something out with the King of Toryn to allow the two to spend time in Zimid. It'd be a good way to show he prince what it was like there and a good way to open Zimid's doors to the humans.
She and Ahlerich spend up and went back to the castle, she'd have to talk to the king later today on the matter of visiting Zimid and the matter of the wedding. Hopefully it was soon, she wanted it down with so she could really start to get to work. Not much could be done before that time as she had to wait till the marriage was secure before she could poke around. The Prince was waiting back at the stables for her arrival. Getting off of Ahlerich she used his reins to guide him into the stables. They made a bee-line to his pen and she placed him inside giving Ahlerich one more pat and a rub. "I'll see you later Ahlerich." She joined the Prince at his side quickly before being shortly greeted by Flynn. While she always wondered how he'd know where she'd be she never thought to hard on it. It was his duty here to know where she was and what condition she was in, so it made sense he paid attention to her arrival and departures. "My lady, welcome back. Shall I get started on tea?" He knew her well, nodding she walked past him. "Set it up in my room."
She made her way to the castle, while it was a nice day looking at the garden wasn't the best setting for tea and she'd rather be outside than inside but until the garden was better it was tea in her room. She followed the path she had tried to remember in her head, while it took her a second to remember what was where for the most part she navigated the castle easily to her destination. Walking into the library, she browsed their collection of books. Many of the books were ones she hadn't read before, and while she'd want to read some of them later some of the books were unappealing just by the title. Pulling out a few books she was greeted by works from Geoffrey Chaucer. A human poet in which who's works had become somewhat popular with the Fae. The book was called 'The Legend of Good Women'. Funny. Taking the book and a few others she made her way up to her room. She had been so used to telling people to deliver things to her room that she had said it so unconsciously. She held her three books close to her, making her way up the stairs and to her room.
As the prince waited for the princess, he monitored her actions with Ahlerich as she placed him back into his pen and giving him a small farewell. As she came to be back into the prince's presence, her personal servant that he saw earlier before appeared out of no where. Within the time he had been waiting for her, he didn't notice the servant anywhere in the area. Vale sized him a bit, wondering if he's one of those workers that were special ordered to follow the princess around in the shadows. Vale recalled once, his father used to send servants out to stalk him when he went out into the towns on his own and report information back to him. Because of this, Vale is a bit more weary of how he acts within public eye.
The servant spoke well and was direct with his orders. Vale was quite impressed, but when was he not impressed when it came to the Fae? Not only was he amazed by the princess herself, but he was slowly becoming more overawe for the race in general. Vale stood quietly as they spoke and when they finished, Vale smirked. "Ah, her room. I suppose my bed will be empty once more." He thought to himself, stifling a laugh. After that thought, he had another. That servant will be using tea from their homeland, or from Toryn? And if that answer was Toryn, was the princess even going to be satisfied with it? He thought of how the princess would have acted before they began exchanging respect to one another. She would have acted bitter and insulted the tea along with the human race as a whole. But with the sudden change of heart, he quickly put that thought out of mind. She was a bit more different than before, and it intrigued him hour by hour. Looking at the Fae servant, he wondered what type of tea he got his hands on. Barley? Dancha, perhaps? He didn't know, and whatever type the tea was wasn't going to surprise him unless it had been from their nation.
He walked along with the Fae princess and questioned her sense of direction. Of course, she had only been in the castle for a day so it was obvious she wouldn't remember immediately where everything was located. Instead of assisting her , he decided to keep quiet and follow her closely. He wanted to make sure she found her way to her destination on her own terms. As the saying goes, getting lost creates a remembered path. However, the prince doubted she was completely directionless. By the look of it, she just needed some time to recall the castle's layout. Eventually, probably after remembering the location, the two ended up in the castle library. Why had they gone to the library? Did she need something to study? Vale thought this at first but figured she may have wanted some reading material to scan during the time for tea or during her time of relaxation. And speaking of this, he thought of having the maids draw the princess and nice bath, hoping she would take the time to relax herself and to allow the princess to receive the space she wished for, considering he has been with her constantly for the past two days. He began putting this aside and watching the princess choose a book to her liking. Or a couple of books, one of which belonging to his father. But Vale assumed he wouldn't mind the princess having this and kept silent as she exited with the books in hand. He followed her to the room, now occupied by the Fae princess and her servant. The room was in good shape with great decor thanks to the Toryn servants keeping up with it so that it is to a good standard for the princess. Whether she liked the room or not wasn't Vale's problem. If she liked it, she can easily stay If not, she could go to Vale's room. Didn't matter much to him. The prince found a nice place to sit on the princess's bed and looked to Flynn. "What she we be having today?" He asked with monotonous voice, replacing the lost locks of follicles behind his ear with new ones and getting comfortable on her mattress.

Eleanora settled down on her bed, shrugging at the Prince's question. She had little to no idea on what type of tea Flynn would bring to her today. She was hardly curious, while she did want to know she wasn't dying to find out what she was having today. The missing presence of Flynn wasn't long as he appeared after a good while, emerging into the room with quite the handful. He had a serving tray in his hands that had the two tarts, teapot, teacups, and the rest of the works. Thankfully in her room she had a small table which he was able to set the tray down. While it might not serve the purpose of a serving table it was going to for now. Flynn went on to pour them cups handing one of the cups to Eleanora. Taking a small sip she was greated by the familiar taste of... rosemary? That was new. It must have been a Toryn tea. Where it was from she wasn't entirely a fan of it and glanced at Flynn with a slightly raised eyebrow. He bowed his head in apology and went on handing the Prince his cup.
She would have preferred something different but she couldn't complain much as she should have had Flynn bring tea from Zimid before they left. She took another sip, the more she drank of the tea the more she was displeased by its flavor. She rested the cup on her lap. Flynn took the cup and replaced it with a tarte. She wasn't much of a conversationalist over tea. She preferred to relax and indulge in her tea but given the fact it wasn't just her she felt a bit obligated to make conversation. She took a bite of the strawberry delight, it was good enough to satisfy her at least. Not the best but not entirely disappointing either. She much preferred Zimid foods but she would have t learn to develop a taste for Toryn sometime soon, it wasn't like she was going to be going back to Zimid anytime soon anyway. There was much to be settled here and if she was in to much of a rush to go back to Zimid it'd seem like she didn't like it here. Which she still didn't but even if she managed to get to Zimid somehow her father would send her right back to Toryn. Taking another of her tarte she allowed the moment to pass in silence.

How long had it been since she arrived? While the wedding was rushed it only happened after her being in Toryn for about a few weeks. In that time she had done a bit. Gotten a bit closer to both the king and the Prince. Though as usual he was teasing her she gave him the usual sarcastic remarks. It was a normal exchange for the two, while they had become closer she was a bit hesitatnt to say they were friends. While she was comfortable around him it was awkward to think about having to now sleep in his bed. The day of the wedding had come though none the less.
Eleanora sat on her bed in final preparation for the wedding. Toryn's marriage ceremonies dictated that she was to wear quite an extravagant dress and quite the dress it was. It was longer than her usual and it was quite beautifully colored. Much of the top was a pale golden color that slowly changed into a pink going to purple at the bottom. There was purple detailing on the chest area of the dress. The sleeves were long and flowy, it was off the shoulders, showing a bit of scandalous skin and some cleavage. Flynn was busy brushing her hair as she played with the airy material of her sleeves. He pulled part of her to the back doing intricate braiding before allowing the rest of the hair to go loose. He put an amethyst and gold circlet on her before pulling away finished with her. "Princess shall I leave you so you can spend a few minutes preparing yourself?"
She slipped on her shoes and stood up. Fixing her dress and adjusting to the extra weight behind her. "Yes." She should be nervous as anyone woman marrying some should be but she wasn't nervous on the marriage part but on how the crowd would be. The King was allowing both humans and Fae to come watch the marriage and even bring gifts if they were so inclined to. She was worried how the humans and Fae would intermingle at the event that many weren't for. She walked along her room to look at the mirror she had. She let a hand softly touch her cheek. Her face had Toryn makeup put on it, her cheeks colored by a faint pink blush and her lips graced by a rich red rouge. Thankfully she had fair skin, something the allowed her to avoid having white powder caked onto her face along with blush. She looked almost completely different in her own opinion. She sighed as she turned her face in different directions, examining the new detailed face she had. Flynn had said she didn't look to bad, she was already pretty and by Toryn standards she was supposedly very good looking with the new add ones. She frowned slightly at the sight. Hopefully she wouldn't hear some sarcastic remark from Vale on her appearance, she wasn't in the mood to have her questionable self-esteem messed with.
Satisfied to what extent she could be, she walked away from the mirror and out of her room. Flynn waited next to the door, as she closed it behind her she made her way down the castle stairs. Vale had supposedly left ahead of her to the chapel so she wasn't going to be running into him just yet. It was good for her, she didn't need to deal with seeing him just yet. She was escorted to a carriage to be taken to a human chapel. Once she was secured in the moving object she was off. The trip didn't last long but once they got near the chapel a crowd of human and fae were surrounding the premises. Getting through was hard but not impossible but they made it on time. She stepped out of the carriage, the priest and Vale were there already standing on the steps. She had rehearsed this already. Women on the left men on the right. She walked to her place and stood next to Vale. "Before we start does anyone have any objections to these two marrying?" The crowd was silent and the wedding went on.
Vale simply waited for his previous question to be answered by the actions of the Fae servant. The male came in with a plethora of finger-food and the tea they were going to drink. He set his tray of goods on the miniscule table and Vale followed him with his eyes. As the servant poured the couple their tea, Vale was given and small whiff of the odor emitted from the liquid. "Ah, Rosemary. Good choice." He thought to himself, grinning while being a bit impressed. Personally, this was one of Vale's favorite kind off tea, considering he didn't drink tea much. Just like a lot of other things, he didn't care much for it. Looking over to the female, he wondered if it was to her liking. But judging by the raised eyebrow she gave the male Fae, he assumed it wasn't that good. Vale also wondered if Zimid tea were any different, but he decided not to think to hardly on the matter. Her servant then took away her cup and gave her one of the goods he brought in previously. When the male gave a look towards Vale, he simply shook his head, declining the wish to have one of the goods. The prince brought his view back to the princess, who was now eating away the delectable, seeming more satisfied than with the tea. He continued to watch her, barely realizing he was doing so and grinned uncontrollably. He continued to sit in silence along with the princess of Zimid and drank the rest of his tea.
--TS---
"I guess today is the day.." Vale thought to himself, in full realization of what today was. He knew it was coming and he knew would be here fast, but since the moment he arose from his slumber he felt as if he were in a daze. He spent a lot more time with the princess than he would have expected from a political marriage, but he was actually grateful for it, even though he had no clue on where he actually stood with the princess. With his soon-to-be wife. He would say they were close considering she wasn't taking his petty jokes to heart but instead, back firing with her sassy sarcasm. He felt comfortable this way, nothing being too serious or dull between them. If they could keep these interactions even after the wedding then maybe...just maybe he wouldn't mind this fabricated ceremony.
Vale arose a lot earlier than he would have liked, but it was the king's orders to be prepared and waiting for his bride-to-be. His maids dressed him in his ceremonial knee-length ebony tunic which split down the center below his waist. He donned his black pants which was slightly skinnier than most. His uniform was lined with gold on the sides and to top off his attire, a long cape was place on his shoulders which was also lined in gold and bore a gilded lion with a shield. Vale took a look in a nearby mirror and gazed at his own visage. He began pouting when he saw how short they cut his hair, even though the just cut away the braid and it was still pretty long, it wasn't to his satisfaction. Vale slipped on his black leather boots and made his way to the common area at the bottom of the staircase, where he met his father.Just like all of the other servants in the castle, his maids were scurrying left and right to prepare for the after ceremony feast and other amenities around the castle and chapel. "Father." Vale greeted giving a simply nod to the King, in which he replied, "Vale." And executing the same action. His father, too, wore his ceremonial wardrobe with a white and red color scheme and stood with a decorative sword in his hands. This sword was the heirloom for Vale's family and was to be considered an honor and a goodluck charm to wed with the weapon at your side. "Vale. You know what your role is in this marriage, therefore I do not need to lecture you before the ceremony. As you know, this is the family sword, passed down from generation to generation and is only to be given to the first wedded son. And when you have a son of your own with the princess of Zimid, you too can passed this down to him." His father spoke this in a tone of grave importance, especially when it came for bearing a male child. The Toryn King outstretched his arms, handing the heirloom to the prince, and Vale received it into his hands. Vale nodded once more and proceeded to attach the sword to his hip which was slightly covered by his cape.
Without another word more, the two, along with some servants, proceeded outside where their horses stood. Instead of a carriage, the men of the royals were to ride to the place of ceremony. Vale walked up to Windago and hoisted himself on to him, and continued on to the Chapel. By the time they arrived, there were many onlookers from both races, human and Fae. Without a second glace, it seemed everyone were but a simple crowd but with a careful look, Vale noticed how the humans and Fae were quite divided in the crowed. Some gave looks of disapproval for the other race attending. Deep down, Vale knew it wasn't looking good, but instead of reacting on the matter, he simply kept his head high and trotted up to the crowd. Many of the humans cheered for the arrival of the prince and the king but the Fae were practically silent. He dismounted his steed, where some servants came and steered Windago off to the side. Vale waltzed prideful strides up to the top of the right side of the stairs. The both rested their arms behind their backs and waited patiently for the bride.
It didn't take much longer than a couple of minutes until the carriage which received the princess had arrived. He stared off in her direction, waiting for her to exit her transportation. As she did, Vale froze. He knew the princess was at least physically attractive in some form but the way she looked today was...wow. By human standards, she was no doubt a very beautiful girl. This could easily be seen by some of the awestricken human males and the jealous human females in the crowd. Just as she swiftly exited the carriage she was quick to make he way next to Vale. Although he tried not to make it obvious, he honestly couldn't stop looking at her. He peered at her from the corner of his eye as the faced the priest who began his long monotone marital speech. Surprisingly, no one spoke of any objections, but then again if someone were to do so, it could probably ignite war again and thankfully, the people were not idiotic enough to speak out this occasion. The long, long, long speech commenced and Vale tuned him out. Instead, he kept his gaze on the princess, while desperately trying to avert his eyes sometimes. He would make a joke to take his mind off of it, but now would be an awfully bad time. If anything, he actually wanted to tell her honestly how well she cleaned up. Perhaps he could sneak a comment or two? He stepped a bit closer to the Zimid princess and whispered quietly, "You look...nice." He said, refraining from saying beautiful. Although she was, he wasn't about to catch himself saying it to her. His pride wouldn't allow it.
The preist continued on until Vale could he him utter the words his father told him to pay attention to. "Wilt though have this woman to thy wedded wife, wilt the love her, and honor her, keep her and guard her, in health and in sickness, as a husband should a wife, and forsaking all others on account of her, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?" To which Vale replied with "I will." and the priest proceeded to ask the same of the princess as well. Vale knew that by the end her response, they were going to be husband and wife. Vale wasn't happy about it, but he wasn't necessarily angry either. Vale just waited for the cue, sneaking small glances at her and to the king who stood on the sidelines.

While she was rather unpleased by how the crowd looked, a split difference from which side was which she couldn't say much. Though before she and the prince were escorted into the chapel she looked back at the people and gave them the best smile she could manage. She felt all of their gazes piercing her, there was so much to worry about in such a small frame of time. She turned her head back to gaze in front of her. Her smile never leaving but it did soften. It was a pain to smile for so long after events like these and it made her wish to never smile again but she had to do what was required of her and thus she continued to smile. She smiled even during the long Toryn vows. Was this common for Toryn weddings? 'No wonder humans die so young these days, they spend half their time listening to this crap.'
Eleanora had to stop herself from rolling her eyes several times during the drawn out speech. While the speech was boring and dry at the very most she was entertained by something else. It was Vale. He was watching her, no staring at her would be better. If h thought she didn't notice well he was dead wrong. She noticed his often glances in her direction. It was fairly annoying and even a bit worrying. For once in her time here she was worried she looked horrible. Given the fact the maids had tried to kill her with Toryn makeup she was self-conscious about herself. Did she look weird? Maybe even hideous? She tensed a bit as she thought of how badly she might look and how badly it'd reflect on her people. Was she to feel ashamed or not? So many questions concerning her own looks, so many things racing in her head to the point she was caught off guard by Vale's soft whisper. "You look.. nice."
She wasn't sure how to feel about his sudden compliment at first but slowly a wash of relief came over her. So she didn't look horrible.. That was good. Her soft smile had a ghost of a smirk as she whispered back to him "I could have guessed as much with all of the staring you're doing." Finally it was time for their agreement to the marriage. Vale spoke his 'I will' and it was onto her. "Will tho have this man as thy wedded husband? To nurture him, to care for him, and to love him in sickness and in health as a wife should a husband, forsaking all others on account of him, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?" The priest paused. It was her turn "I will." The priest nodded and she turned. The ring bearer presented their rings and she slipped Vale's ring onto his hand presenting her own for him to do the same. What next was to take place? She had heard they had to kiss but upon furthering days to the wedding that had been opted out. The weddings was over she was his wife now. 'Wife.. Who knew I'd be saying that this soon...' She sighed softly as she turned to face the crowd behind them, by now the humans and the fae had slowly come together. Those who were totally against being with the other race stood on the far side of their groups half but much of the arrangement was mixed.
It was a nice sight if she was honest. She was working for this and to see the first round of the fruits of labor be born was nice. She linked her arm with Vale's, she wasn't crazy about the idea of contact between the two but it was necessary for looks wise. She went over what they were to do next in which was to make their way to the after wedding feast. While it wasn't a whole new concept to hear that after a wedding Toryn's had feasts but to think she was going to be there with both human and fae diplomats, some more warm-hearted than others was a bit nerve racking. The feast was to be in the castle and easy enough task but for some reason she had a hard time to wrap her head around the concept. The whole thing sort of felt like a dream. She was married. To a human prince. While she spent days, months.. no her whole life knowing that one day she'd have to marry for these exact reasons to think that it was finally done was a bit shocking. She smiled at the crowd, waving to civilians as she stood next to Vale. Her eyes roamed the crowd scanning for any fae she might know. There was a few who's faces seemed vaguely familiar but no diplomats or royals for instance that she knew of. They were most likely waiting for the two in the castle, a visit she wasn't excited for. While her father was unable to leave Zimid the current Queen was not. "Hope you're ready..." she whispered to the prince silently before finishing off with her own thoughts 'Because I'm not...'
Truthfully she was wishing she didn't have to see the Queen as if the Queen was here her sister was going to be here too. This wasn't the thing that this wedding needed, a conflict between two royals as a truce was secured. Whatever the outcome though, Eleanora was preparing herself for it.
Vale's face turned red after learning the princess caught his glances. It figured, he couldn't stop looking at the female even if it were the death of him. Even after her revelation of observation, he continued to look at her and watch as the priest repeats his previous question with the princess. After saying she will, Vale held out his hand for her to place the ring on his finger and did the same with his. Strangely enough, Vale noticed how nice the princess's hands were. And after doing so, the wedding was over with. The ceremony that had stressed out many, was over. They both turned to the crowd of onlookers and smiled sheepishly as they clapped for the newly weds. Vale didn't really take the time to notice the slight mixture of races because his attention was taken when the princess linked her arm with his. He figured it was just for show, but it still felt very strange and foreign to him. Although he messed with the princess a lot, it was another story when she initiated the contact. But, of course, we are supposed to show the kingdoms the truce of the two races. And now the two were to spend their lives together as husband and wife for the sake of these two kingdoms to join together and become peaceful again. Vale didn't see how this was going to save any hopes of reunion but at this point he was just going to go with it and hopefully this sought after dream could become a reality once more.
The prince, along with the princess gave a moment for publicity to flash smiles and give nods and waves to their people before getting ready to head off to the death sentence. "Ah, the feast of aristocrats..." Vale thought to himself as he looked to the princess after her comment. He knew exactly what the princess warned him of and wanted to get out of immediately. He actually took some time to think about taking the princess and ditch the feast but he knew that was trouble waiting to happen. Plus, he doubted the princess would let him do such a thing. He sighed and nodded to his wife, "Shall we get this over with then?.." He said as he began to escort the princess to the carriage she had arrived in, going through a path that cut through the sea of Fae and humans. He kept his simple smile up until they were able to enter the carriage. Before entering, however, he ordered a nearby servant to bring his horse back to it's stable. Getting inside, he dropped his cheerful façade. "That ceremony was so very boring..." He spoke brushing his hair back and allowing it to fall back into place. Though Vale was a bit stressed, he thought joking with her could at least lighten his own mood before entering the dining hall. "So now you're going to HAVE to sleep with me tonight, right princess? And will you allow me to call you by your birth name, Eleanora?" He smiled as he felt the carriage begin to move to the castle.
As the carriage approached the castle and came to a halt in front of it's entrance, the two newly weds were escorted out by the Toryn servants and led inside. They were shown to the royal dining hall and the large double doors were opened for them, showing a very long wooden table complimented by a red table cloth. Around this table stood many high class advisors, the king of Toryn, the Queen of Zimid, another young lady which gave the impression of being related to Eleanora, and many other diplomats holding glasses of wine and other varieties of drinks, many being alcoholic. The room was highly decorative since it was meant for dinners with guests and door connected to the kitchen was constantly being opened due to the many attendants sprawling many variations of food and beverages across the long table. A pig could be seen on a large platter with an apple in it's mouth in the center of this table with many bowls of fruits, and many plates of different meats and breads and soups were set for this feast. A plate for each person were set and there were two extra decorative plates where the husband and wife were to sit. As those doors were opened, the gaze of everyone in the hall were turned in their direction and the small chatter ceased.

The two were stuck waving for a few more good minutes before finally moving from their positions. The two were escorted to the carriage and into the object they were loaded. Once the door was safely closed behind her was she able to officially get comfortable. She let out a long sigh and tucked a stray lock behind her ear. "How in the world Toryn wear stuff like this is far beyond imagination but I must say.. wow." She kept the smile on her face and glanced out the carriage window waving to people they passed. She nodded though, glancing at the prince. "You're one to speak. I think I just lost 20 years of my life from that." She paused for a bit, mulling over the idea of sleeping in his bed once more. Of course she knew she had to sleep in his bed. It was an arrangement that was made quite vivid by both kings and servants. Was she happy about the situation? No, not really but if she didn't then rumors would get out about some crazy idea.
"Yes yes I know." She turned her head to look Vale up and down. He had cleaned up nicely and was even a bit handsome. Of course seeing him with newly short hair was shocking. He looked better even with it. "So you cut your hair? It looks nice on you Vale." She put emphasis on his name before lowering her hand as they passed the last few people. They were approaching the castle fast but her stomach was sinking faster. She probably as excited as the Prince was about this whole thing. The two were helped out the carriage and lead to their destination.
The room was bustling with high class people, some chatting with the other countries high class but most not. This was the group that often needed the most push to accept change. She greeted everyone who came up with a nod and a hello, even shaking hands with friendly faces of Zimid. "Princess Eleanora." A calm yet cold voice called for the princess. Who was the owner of the voice? It was nonother then the Queen of Zimid. Great. Just what Eleanora needed here. "Queen Alvery." She looked at the Queen, who in turn looked at Vale. "Well I see you were successful in keeping up some of your deal I guess. Of course I expected as much given it was you that the King put to the task. If only it had been Cateline.." She touched her chest in fained sadness. She was quite the show artist. "I'm sure if it had gone any other way we'd be at war once again Alvery."
The Queen wasn't shy to glare at her and nor was Eleanora. A nearby Zimid diplomat called to the Queen and off she floated giving a snicker in her wake. "Well have fun while you still have the right to be even called a royal." Eleanora clenched her jaw in frustration as she pasted probably the best fake smile she had ever done before. The net few visitors to the two were her siblings. Cateline and Farrin. While she hated their mother with a passion she actually didn't mind her siblings and even loved the littlest one. "Cateline. Farrin. How come you two are roaming around unsupervised?" The two were undoubtly cute, especially her little brother who shared quite the remeblance to her. Her sister took much after her mother, brown hair and blue eyes. While Farrin looked like his father and Eleanora, blond hair and blue eyes. The young girl was only 10 while her brother was four. To young to be walking around with out some sort of advisor. "We figured we come say hello before mother and we return back to Toryn later on. I was hoping we could chat but well you're busy." Cateline may be her "rival" for throne but she was just a little girl. Eleanora didn't dilike her sister in fact she enjoyed spending time with her sister, it was the Queen who got under her skin. "You're free to visit me anytime Cateline." Of course talking to Cateline didn't come without some sort of repermand from Farrin. He gripped her dress and gave it a soft tug. He was by far her favorite of the two. "Hello seedling."
She picked up her little brother and gave him a hug, she didn't mean to have favorites but he was so darn cute! The little boy played with the loose locks of Eleanora's hair. "Farrin can you say hello to Vale?" She pressed her forehead against Farrin's, he was a quiet child and a sweet one at that. Because of how much he looked like Eleanora aside from her having purple eyes, his mother didn't like to talk to him so often as she would Cateline. To her the throne was important anything else was a means. It was sad that a mother, a Fae mother, would do such a thing but the Queen was annoying like that. Farrin was often in Eleanora's care when he was younger, as the Queen spent time spoiling Cateline and as she did Eleanora did so too.
The small Fae boy glanced at Vale before hiding his face on Eleanora's shoulder. She kissed the top of his head and placed him back down. "Ok ok. If you're not going to say hi that's fine." She looked at Cateline and drew the little girl into a hug. "Write to me about any problems at home ok?" The little girl nodded and the two rushed off to their mother's side before they were gone to long. How much longer was she to be here? She didn't want anymore chances with having to talk to Alvery again for a second time.
As they entered the great high class hall, Vale didn't feel the need to socialize as much as the princess. His job was to marry the princess and that is what he was doing. Yes, forming a treaty was somewhere in his job, but that didn't matter much right now. As snobbish as Vale could be at times, he wasn't a fan of high class people, they acted ridiculous at times and Vale never wished to be too involved in their shenanigans. Instead, Vale plastered his fake smile once more and would nod to the people of both Fae and human race. A simple nod was all Vale needed to do, nothing more. And the one person to prove his reasoning had come up to him and the princess. A voice spoke, giving Vale the case of the shivers. Looking in the direction of that voice, Vale could see, with her bold atmosphere and from the stories the princess had told, that this was the Queen of Zimid. My, my, my. "Guess who I get to meet.. " Vale thought to himself and placed his hands on his hips, observing the two in conversation. Vale furrowed his eyebrows when the Queen, someone who is to be graceful and pleasant, looked at him and spoke. Some of her deal? Only some? Vale initially thought the marriage itself was the task at hand. What else does she have to do? He was pretty confused on the matter but decided to dismiss it until later on. And after this, Vale felt a bit proud to have a wife with such a sassy attitude. It was quite amusing, the way she spoke to the Queen, her mother. However, as amusing as it was, the tension was becoming a bit unbearable, even with the others glancing at them.
The prince sighed with relief when the Queen was called over by someone else, tearing the tense atmosphere apart for a bit. He looked over to Eleanora with a bit of a sorrowful look. To think she had to deal with such a woman, Vale almost couldn't imagine it. Yes, the King of Toryn was a bit of a hot head but he wasn't especially hard to deal with. They mostly avoided each other. But it appeared the Queen ate confrontation for every meal of the day. He rested his hand on her shoulder gently, reassuringly. "Well...she sure is something..." He said sighing and releasing his touch. Soon after, two little children came up to the couple and his wife began to speak to them. Were these her siblings? He imagined them to be much older, especially the girl. He remembered how the Queen mentioned preferring the younger sister for this task. Vale grimaced at the thought of marrying such a young girl. With that in mind, he was almost grateful it was Eleanora, instead. Cateline and Farrin. Those were pleasant names, especially for young Fae children. Vale wasn't much of a fan of young kids, all they did in Toryn was cry, complain, and break things. But, surprisingly, they were pretty cute. But not so much where Vale needed to obsess over their appearance. However, the youngest one caught Vale's attention the quickest. He looked like Eleanora, and since she was kinda good-looking, so was this kid. They both had blonde hair and kinda the same eye color, pretty similar. It was astonishing really, since Vale didn't have any siblings. And now, that they're married, they were practically his siblings as well. In a weird way, this excited him. The prince could here the queenly tone coming from the 10-year-old girl and Vale smirked." Oh look, they multiply..." He thought, laughing a little. But he noticed this didn't seem to phrase the princess as it did with the Queen. Did all Fae call their children seedling? Vale wasn't going to lie, that is kinda cute.
Seeing the young child get raised off the ground by her new wife and being snuggled, Vale couldn't help be get closer to the little guy. When Eleanora introduced Vale to Farrin, the prince waved sheepishly and smiled. "Hi there, Farrin.." He said quietly, so as to not scare him, but it seemed that this action was in vain. The small boy hid from Vale regardless. Vale felt a little sad, but maybe he could get another chance another time. As Eleanora dismissed her brother and sister, Vale gestured to the princess's seat at the table, asking her to sit. The quicker we could get this feast over with, the quicker they could get away from these high class people. After doing this, he picked up a chalice and called out to everyone in the room. "Hello everyone! It is..uh..nice that all of you have postponed your busy schedules to come and celebrate the marriage and unity of the Fae and human kingdoms.." He said, reciting what his father made him study beforehand. "As soon as you all get seated, my father could speak and we can begin our festivities." Vale finished and took his assigned seat at the table along with all of the other Fae and Humans taking their seats. The only person that continued to stand was the King of Toryn. He gave a deep nod and began, "Not too long ago, we were fighting. Battling our differences out in war and bloodshed. Both the Fae and the Humans have lost many things during this war and, of course, we are unable to return these lost things." He paused, raising his chalice full of wine, "However, now we are in the time of unity and peace thanks to the couple who married on this day. And with this, we hope to prove to our kingdoms and ancestors, that we desire peace among the two races, and to live among one another once more....To unity!" He said lastly, raising his glass even higher, and everyone in unison saying to unity. And with this, everyone began picking at the many meats, fruits, and breads that was placed all over the table along with the many jugs of wine that lie within good distance of each other.
