yugis_girl28 Wow that was a lot of readin...but it was worth it... I always thought Joey was a Capricorn...When's his b-day? Jan 20th, Capricorn ends on the 19th. When Kazuki Takahashi wrote the guide (btw anyone know where the hell to get it form?) he unfortunatly used the other system (which makes all the characters a sign behind what they really are, i think it's Hindu or something Oo), that's why there is so much confusion in the fandom. Jounouchi is an Aquarius but in KT's book he's stated as being a Cap. Same with Malik actually being a Cap but in the book he is Sagittarius. (I make no sense. @.@)
And sorry for answering a question that was not directed at me, but I don't like questions just sitting there for ages not being answered when there is someone online and they don't bother. sweatdrop I should stop typing now.

I really don't know because I just used the dates there was never a listed set of 'he's a Cap or a Scorpio' or anything. (Shrugs)

I'm sorry, but, Joey's sign Aquarius; its sub-ruler is actually Saturn. I kinda know this scince I'm an Aquarius myself. I got all weird because it just was there and I knew it was wrong. sweatdrop

Personally I tend to find Astrology sources vary, so I'd never take any of this to be 100%. I've even found discrepancies within the same source before. The book I have (a rather expansive Encyclopedia by James Lewis that also delves into relations in mythology) says it was ruled by Uranus also. However, it does clarify that it was said to be ruled by Saturn until the outer planets were discovered. It makes no statement one way or the other whether or not Saturn is currently considered a sub-ruler or only a previous ruler. So perhaps expanses in Astronomy lead to expansions in Astrology. Either way, I'd be hesitant to ever say what's 100% canon as far as this particular subject matter is concerned. It's too transitory and speculative, of course, it would have to be.
So while it's interesting to point out discrepancies, even if it were your thread Kits, I wouldn't suggest editing a thread every time one was noticed. That would be far too often, even professional astrologers cannot ever come to complete consensus. Unlike those lucky math majors, where the answer is easily right or wrong. Pah, who wants to deal in absolutes anyhow ^_~.

Yea, I was a mythology nut and had a friend from HS whose an astrology nut, which is how I ended up in possession of this encyclopedia anyhow. The lack of consistency in astrology gets on my nerves a lot though, because I want to make definitive statements, declare this an attribute of that sign, or this an elemental property of that sign. But you can't really because there are always at least two conflicting sources on the same thing. Sometimes they are both right and the answers just reflect a difference in the time evaluated, other times you have to wonder if either are right. Maddening.
However, when it comes to classification of deities discrepancies never bothered me. It almost seemed logically proportional, so go figure.

Haha, I would say okay, I'll be wary to edit, but considering there aren't many astrology nuts in this guild, I don't think I have to worry about discrepancies being noticed too often. XD Astrology is okay. It's interesting and fun to play with, but I don't believe in it; like JK says, it just is too contradictory, not to mention how strange it is to think that everyone in this month is similar because of the stars, etc. etc.

Touché. I suppose I just meant in the entirety of your life, for I'm sure there will be myriad events that will call for such discretion ^_~.
Yea, I mean I even know twins who don't both line up, if either line up, with half of what charts predict, and generally things that line up are rather general. A horoscope never says you will eat a ham sandwich on rye with a light mustard spread before being hit by a bus driven by a blind monk. They say you will be lucky in love this month. I mean chances are several people within a sign WILL be lucky in love, in some way, shape or form. I find it interesting and fun as well, but I don't observe Astrology as a science, with definitive absolutes.

Well, considering this thread was posted four years ago, and this is the first correction it's gotten, I think I can live with that happening. XD Seriously. It's just going on likely scenarios.
