_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||

As Toya removed the red mask from the face of the first slain enemy, the body faded away into nothing, leaving the spear that pierced its side on the ground where it should have been.

Where as a single good tug might have been enough to pull the mask free, Toya chose to carve it off. The creature spat and screamed in pain, fighting to get its arms free of the sticky material, as thick, black liquid gushed from its wounds. And, just as Toya was about to finish removing the mask, its sword arm broke free. But it was too late. As the mask was removed, the goblinoid froze and faded into nothing before its face could be revealed. Its sword fell to the ground with a clatter.

Should the boy turn around, he would catch sight of Servus standing in the entrance to the small cave, watching Toya as he methodically worked to removed the mask. Aside from the strange and spongy bruising he had before, he seemed uninjured. Although, given the handful of masks in one hand and the black goop dripping from the clawed hand, the enemy didn't fair so well. He said nothing, only stared for a long moment before retrieving his discarded robe from where it had been left on the ground.

                                                          The moment the first body faded away into oblivion, Toya realized how little entertainment he'd be having with the two creatures. If one reacted in such a fashion after having its mask removed then the other would leave the boy without satiating his desire as well. "Oh well." He mumbled proceeding to evaporate the other creature. The way it struggled to the very last moment of its existence to kill Toya sent shivers down the boy's spine. "Hehe." He found it funny how something could end up in such a pathetic state and still find the will to fight. He could hear something behind him. Something dripped giving away its presence. Toya left it to chance that Servus was the source of the noise since whatever was behind him hadn't attacked him yet. Bending over he picked up the blade that the creature left behind in its last valiant attempt at survival. Turning around in one swift motion, Toya raised his arms with blade in hand and smiled from behind the mask. "Servus! My old friend! Let us rejoice in our victory!" He announced.
                                                          The number of masks in Servus' hand did not go unnoticed by Toya either.
                                                          Taking out two had been a nuisance. Yet the creatures did seem strangely weak. Toya killed them without even using...Genjutsu... The word echoed through his mind reminding him of a part of himself he'd forgotten.

[Gained a Rusty Sword. Durability 5/5.]

Servus only glanced at Toya at his celebratory words, but his expression remained void of any particular emotion. Faintly glowing yellow eyes darted to the sword in the young man's hand, but it seemed more out of instinct rather than mistrust. He finished sliding the robes on and held the small stack of masks out to Toya. "Assuming you can find someone who will buy these, you are welcome to sell or trade them for supplies. Those fades are a nuisance but weak. Remove their masks and they cannot hold form in this realm. The same is actually true for many fades you will meet." Regardless if Toya took the gift, Servus turned to look out the way he had come in. "The snow has stopped, so it should be safe to travel again." He halted then and glanced back at Toya with a vague curiosity what the teen would do.

                                                          "What's the point of living if you're not enjoying the only pleasures it gives you, Servus haha?" Toya asked without caring for a response or not. The boy was beginning to bore him but he knew he couldn't do much about him at his current level. His eyes behind the mask followed him as he headed towards the caves' exit. He wanted to leave as the girl earlier did. Toya was about to object when he felt a tug at his chest. "Ah s**t." He mumbled feeling his head spin. His time was running out. The mask dropped. Fades huh?
                                                          He thought to himself as his grip over his body faded away. This new world sounds interesting...

                                                          Atsuma awakened again like before. He was standing with a rusty blade in his hand with a red mask on the floor at his feet. He couldn't recall how he'd gotten there. He was talking to Servus near a fire and now...What is happening to me? He thought to himself. His legs began to quiver and his grip on the blade loosened to the point where it dropped. The metal clang echoed through the cave while Servus waited for his response. "I...I uh. Yeah I'm coming just let me get ready." While trying to remember the events his mind hadn't registered, Atsuma looked through his inventory for items that would help him through the cold. To his surprise, there were gloves at the bottom that he hadn't seen before surrounded by a scarf. The moment he put the gloves on he felt his hands getting hot. The gloves were obviously special. "W...Wow..." He mumbled looking at the scarf. When he motioned for the scarf it practically jumped at him and wrapped itself around his neck gently. Atsuma blinked a couple of times in surprise while hoping it wasn't a snake that would kill him if he moved abruptly.

                                                          "I'm ready." He told Servus once at his side near the cave's entrance. He realized he was in the posession of two masks. One had been at his hip when he regained conscious while the other at his feet. "I guess a mask will keep my face warm right?" He asked Servus timidly before putting on the blue mask and keeping the red at his hip.

_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||
Servus said nothing in response to Toya's question regarding enjoying life's pleasures. However, he did give pause at the shift in personality, though whether or not he actually noticed was left to be decided. His yellow gaze remained fixed on the boy as he moved about gathering his things. Once Atsuma was ready, Servus led the way out of the cave and back out into the snow.

There must have been at least a couple of feet of snow, as it came up to the knees. What's more, black liquid marred the otherwise serene white, and deep scores in nearby trees and even the stone around the cave entrance suggested how the battle had gone. Just like the two Toya had defeated, no bodies remained, as they would have faded away when their masks were removed. Servus paid no mind to the scenery and instead, after a brief glance around, started through the forest, travelling the opposite direction the blizzard-creating dragon had landed earlier. After a moment he glanced back at Atsuma, though his gaze never met the boy's. "If it is not out of place to ask... Where are you from?"

                                                          Atsuma eyed the scenery in silence considering the events that had driven him to the cave. The girl...What if she came back and they weren't there?
                                                          Atsuma felt a tug in his chest at the thought of her alone in the cave without anyone to make her a fire or have for company. Part of him wanted to stay but he knew the chances of her being alive were slim at that point. Just by looking at the trees he could tell she couldn't have survived in the chaos. The beast in the spy glass and its uncontainable rage sent shivers down Atsuma's spine.
                                                          To think something like that was out in the world made him fear for his own safety.
                                                          The snow crunching beneath his feet felt nice now that he had a chance to actually let it all sink in. Before when he was running he hadn't had the chance to experience snow in such a more tame manner. Which in part was related to Servus' question. It never snowed in sunagakure. "I think I'm from...Sunagakure. Yeah."

_______________The Narrator Whispers... ||
His curiosity seemingly satiated after the single question, Servus was silent again for a while longer, leaving you free to ask your own questions or walk in silence as well. Eventually, they came across a frozen stream, at which Servus paused and stood staring at the surface. Then suddenly claws extended from his left sleeve and he wheeled his arm back before slamming the claws into the ice. Cracks spiderwebbed across it. A second strike broke it completely, revealing the running water underneath. Claws retracting once more, he knelt beside the hole he made and scooped water, somewhat awkwardly given the difference in size between his hands, into his hands and brought it to his mouth. Once done, he backed off to allow you a chance at the water if you desired and finally spoke once more. "Not far from here is a city. It is empty of humans, but there is movement there. I think someone may have woken there. I want to find them. That place is not safe."

                                                          Atsuma was about to follow in Servus' lead and drink some water himself when his body became rigid and stopped. Memories rushed back into his mind. The body spends more energy than invested when drinking cold water.
                                                          The same applies for blood. You are making an inequivalent exchange.
                                                          He remembered in that moment his love for reading. He'd keep the thoughts to himself and simply wait for Servus to finish drinking his water. Servus' next words made little sense to Atsuma and seemed all over the place. The city was empty of humans yet there was movement even though someone awoke. And why did he want to go somewhere dangerous? "Uh...Are you sure you want to go to such a place?" He asked nervously.

Servus's head tilted in curiosity at your words. "Would you rather leave potential human life to die at the hands of Fades?" He shifted uncomfortably, glancing in the direction he had been headed. "There are not many humans left, and those that wake are going to be confused. Especially here in a land where evil has taken control, I would not wish for someone to fall into their hands." After a moment he looked back at you. "If you would prefer to stay out here on your own, so be it. I believe others have woken as well. If you wish to avoid the city, I would recommend seeking them out instead." Done with his small speech, he turned away and headed forward once more.

                                                          Atsuma grimaced behind his blue mask. The thought of being alone again with evil beings surrounding him didn't sound like the best option. He sighed and followed Servus' lead in silence.

Crackling noises was heard throughout the empty snow ridden lands. She was resting. Peacefully. Everything was calm.. good and - "It's cold!" She shouted as sudden cold temperatures knocked her into reality. Shivering already, her hues glanced around. Where the heck was she?! Grabbed her bag roughly, she started to dig through it. "Come on.. come on.." She would mutter angrily under her voice. She hated it if she ever entered into something unknown and not know what's going on. And that's where exactly she was. Unknown. "Yes." A triumph shout can be heard as she got out warm clothes. removing only her cap, she put on everything else and didn't care if it felt uncomfortable or tight. First was the thick and warm sweatpants like but with outer protection for the snow. Inside was so soft and fuzzy. Second was the long sleeve shirt but then a hoodie after that with the same outer layer to keep her dry and warm. She started to feel batter and better as she puts on socks and proper shoes. Exhaled with satisfaction, she stood up and glanced around to try and figure out to where she was. This didn't make any sense at all! One day she was training underneath the hot and scorching sun of the Sungakure, and the next she was here?! Was this some sick joke!? Her eyes caught her weapon as she signed with relief. At least she had that. Picked it up, she made sure she packed everything and glanced around. Where to gooooo where to go.

"Whatever." She muttered as she span in circles and suddenly stopped, the halberd pointed a direction for her. "That way then. See if I can find someone to explain what the hell is all this." While searching, she would also be looking for any edible looking stuff. She was slightly hungry.

_______________Another Awakening... ||
For what seemed like eternity, but at the same time no time at all, Thundra floated in darkness. He could vaguely recall himself, who he was, and what he was, as if a voice had guided him along that path to remembrance, but the voice itself faded away like it had never existed to begin with. All is at peace, at rest in the comforting embrace of the abyss, until a crack splits the air, resounding in the nothingness. With it came light and humidity as it slowly spider-webbed outward. Then it shattered altogether and he was released from his prison, where he fell to the cold earth, strength not immediately returning to his limbs. This weakness would only last a brief moment before he was filled with energy that could have kept him going for what felt like days, fulling rested and at his prime.

Thundra would find himself surrounded by white, untouched snow, marred only by shards of smokey glass, enough of it to more than coat a human body. The snow beneath you is as chilly as the air, which immediately nips at exposed skin. Trees litter the hilly landscape, in some places sparse and others tightly packed. While there is some undergrowth, most has been covered by perhaps a recent storm. And the world is hauntingly quiet under the evening sky. However, as the thunderous sound of his immersion fades into nothing, birdsong returns, and the forest gradually returns to life.

_______________And In Response... ||
Oiwa as she traversed through the snowy landscape saw, occasionally, a tall, near opaque crystalline boulder, large enough to fit a human within. The obsidian-like material was not unlike the glass that surrounded her upon wakening. But those she tried to interact with did nothing, changed in no way, and they appeared unbreakable. That is, until one, not too far from where she walked, shattered, and a figure fell free from it into the cold snow. Another human?

"Oh of course it's going to be hard to find food. After all, I'm just in a snowy terrain. This does not make any sense." The former Sunagakure ninja mumbled grumpily to herself. She really dislike the cold. Noticed the boulder, her grey hues stared at it for a moment if she should go inside. Nah. There would be no food in there. Maybe some moss but not really food worth. Back to continue to try to find tracks or some sign of vegetarian life. That would be a miracle in itself. Her head snapped in great speed when she heard the crystal back. Huh. That sounded familiar. Follow to where she heard the noise, she saw a male, about the same age as her on the ground. "Ah. So you just got out of that too. Weird. You got your strength back yet?" She questioned as she squatted by him but still kept a distance and a perfect distance for her halberd weapon if she needed to use it. Considering he was a male, his next words and actions will decide if she would fight him or not. Hopefully he wasn't a jerk, since Oiwa was in middle of no where.

"Unnrgghh.." the young Thundra groaned as he stood up and shook himself off before looking at the girl who was currently crouching. He immediately observed everything about her before actually observing his surroundings; what she wore, how she spoke, her position and everything that entailed her character. He had no clue what was going on or how he got to this particular region, but he had no need to worry about that now as he had a potential threat to his survival, where he had nobody to look after him besides himself. Clearing his throat, Thundra would look at the girl with a stern pan-face. "Yes. I'm okay. Who are you and where have you come from?" He didn't want any trouble, as he was taught not to look for problems, only to end them - thus his calm demeanor and approach to the stranger. He would take hold of his staff and place his katana on the backside of his lower back while awaiting the response of the girl. Thundra thought she was sort of cool, in a way... at least by how she appeared.
