Lelyna had only just arrived him when the Academy Page had arrived to deliver the message to her. Reading the note from Gannon, she nodded a bit. โThank you, please let the Headmaster know that I will be there shortly.โ Sighing a little bit, Lelyna headed for the Master Suite that she and Mikhail shared. It was empty, which was good. Lelyna had hoped to give Mikhail his present straight away but with the summons, she needed to wait. Deciding to leave it lovingly on his pillow, she smiled.
After doing a few other things, Lelyna prepared to heโd out. She stopped at the kitchen, grabbing a small tine of chai tea. She had wanted to gift Rhysian with some tea after heโd treated her so many times. Now seemed like the best time to give it to him โ it was almost Graduation and there was no telling how bust he would be with the ceremony or if he would leave for the summer. Opting to walk to the Academy, she went straight thereโฆ
[ - Enter Academy/Outside Rhysianโs Office - ]
Because she didnโt know what Gannon might require of her or how long she would be, Lelyna opted to stop at Rhysianโs office first. Knocking lightly on the wooden office door, she held the little tin of tea in her hands and waited patiently for permission to enter. If he wasnโt in his office, sheโd give the tea to a page to be delivered later, but she could have sworn sheโd heard voices coming from withinโฆ

As the door opened she was surprised to see Professor Maksimov. Smiling automatically, she nodded in greeting. โGood Afternoon, Professor.โ She said as Philia held the door open. Stepping inside, Lelyna wasnโt expecting to hear Philia step out and close the door behind her. A bit surprised by the sudden exit, Lelyna looked toward Rhysian a bit sheepishly.
โI apologize for interrupting your meeting, ProfessorโฆI could have come back at a later time.โ Lelyna said a little shyly. She hated being rude and she hoped that she hadnโt interrupted something important. Approaching Rhysianโs desk, she moved to the side and stood, offering him the small tin of tea. โI just wanted to stop by to give you this. Youโve shared so many lovely brews of tea with me that and I wanted to share one of my favorites with you in return.โ Lelyna said with a warm smile.
โItโs a vanilla chai tea. Itโs lovely with some cream and a bit of sugarโฆโ Rhysian had been so kind to her this past year, she owed him dearly for so many things, the tea was only a small token of her gratitude toward him. Clasping her hands in front of her, her left hand was placed over her right, subconsciously showing her engagement ring.
โI suspected that you would be busy with the graduation ceremony tomorrow and that you might take the opportunity to travel over the summer break, so I felt today was the best opportunity to see you.โ Lelyna was well aware that Rhysian was a very busy man, thus his time was very precious.

Lelyna smiled warmly at how happy Rhysian seemed with the simple gift. She knew that he was a wealthy man and one with fine taste, but it seemed that despite the gift being something that anyone could pick up at a local tea shop โ it wasnโt anything fancy โ that he appreciated it. She hadnt missed the fact that his demeanor had brightened as sheโd come into the room to speak with him. Lelyna hoped that he was just happy to see her โ he was her mentor after all.
Although Gannon had summoned her, she suspected that this was the last time she would see her mentor for some time. Thinking about the offer for a moment, she nodded. โYes, please.โ One cup of tea wouldnโt take long. Besides, she was already on campus so she could finish here and go straight to Gannonโs office afterward.
Arising from her chair, she led the way over to the tea set. Her intention was to brew the tea for them, but she frowned a little, realizing that she didnโt have the means to heat the water. โProfessorโฆI was hoping to brew the tea, but it looks like Iโll have to go to the kitchen.โ That was, unless, Rhysian had a spell that he could use to heat the water then and there?
โUnless, perhaps, there is a spell that we could use?โ She asked with an excited smile. Lelyna was always eager to see what spells her mentor could utilize โ he was truly amazing and seemed to be able to accomplish anything.

Lelyna listened with a smile as Rhysian explained all the ways that he could use magic to heat the water for their tea. In the end, she smiled as he demonstrated how he would do it. With a snap of his fingers, the coals lit, and fire burned brightly to heat the kettle. Smiling to herself, she glanced at her mentor, impressed with his simple use of magic. Although, she was curious โ how did he use a spell without speaking it? It was a curious thingโฆ
Preparing the tea, she looked up at Rhysianโs question. โIโve never been happierโฆโ Should she tell him about the engagement? She wanted to โ the ring was obvious โ but she also wanted to wait; Kayl deserved to be told first. Picking up the tea tray, she brought it over to Rhysianโs side table and gently placed it down. Handing him his cup, Lelyna gave him a small smile.
โIโm not sureโฆI havenโt seen Kayl for some time now. I know that heโs been rather busy, and he doesnโt have much time for me.โ She said a bit sadly, missing her brother. โIโm hoping to spend some much-needed time with him after the Graduation. Weโll have all of the summer break to spend together.โ She was hopeful that Kayl would have time for his sister โ theyโd spent such a vast amount of time apart that she didnโt want to waste a moment without him if she could help it.
โWhat will you be doing over the break, Professor? Will you travel home to spend time with your family?โ She was sure that he must miss themโฆ

Had she realized that asking Rhysian about his family would cause him to become somewhat saddened, she would have refrained from asking altogether. Rhysian looked apprehensive to speak of it, but he offered her some insight into his ordeal. Nodding a little bit she gave her mentor a sympathetic look. โI apologize if I saddened you with my question, Professor, it wasnโt my intention.โ Lelyna said, sincerely, holding his gaze.
โIf there is anything I can do to help you in your conundrum, Iโd be happy to help. I may not know what the whole situation may be, but the least I can do is offer some type of help or support if I am able.โ Truth be told she doubted that there was anything that she could do โ Rhysian was the most powerful magic user and spell caster she had ever met, she doubted that there was anything she could do that Rhysian couldnโt accomplish himselfโฆ
โIn any case, if it is only a matter of awkwardness or of being unsure of if your family would want to see you, I am confident that your family, or at least some of them would like to see you, Professor.โ Rhysian had always been so kind and considerate toward her. Lelyna suspected that maybe he had had a falling out with a member of his family and thus hesitated to meet them again โ why else would one hesitate to see oneโs family? Not to mention, Kayl had mentioned that he never even heard of Rhysian DeโValaer until heโd arrived at the Academy. Was it possible that there had been some type of family fuel that had left him ostracized from the rest of the family? Even if this was the case, family was very precious and important and past feuds should be rectified.
โWellโฆIf you do decide to spend the summer here in Eoana, Iโd be happy to come and visit! Iโll bring different teas and snacks for us to try. We can chat about all manner of things, it will be lovely!โ Lelyna said with a warm, happy smile, loving the idea of spending some leisure time with her mentor.

Rhysianโs emotions seemed to change from one to the other, but she was happy to see a true and happy smile when she spoke of spending time with him over the summer time. Nodding a bit, she finished her tea and placed the cup back on itโs saucer, feeling content with at least offering her mentor something to look forward to over the coming weeks. Looking up at Rhysian, she nodded a bit and gave him a bit of a sheepish smile. โThank you, Professor. I do admit I did get a little side tracked from my original objective, but Iโm glad that I was able to speak with you, even for a short time.โ
Following Rhysian to the door, she looked up at him and beamed, truly happy. โUntil next time, Professor. Have a wonderful evening.โ Stepping out, Lelyna moved down the hallway, away from Rhysianโs office. She was hopeful that their next meeting would last a bot longer. Perhaps they could play a game of chess while they talked? The thought made her smile and anticipate their next meeting even moreโฆ

A torrent of emotions washed through her as she ran toward the one place she shouldnโt go. Anger, sadness, betrayal. Lelyna felt such pain and loss, such a deep sense of violation that she couldnโt handle it. Rhysian was a murder! Not even an half hour before sheโd sat across from him, comforting him as they had tea. A half hour ago, sheโd sat across from a murderer who wanted who knew what with herโฆIf she hadnโt seen that memory herself, she never would have believed it. If someone had come up to her and told her that Rhysian had murdered innocents in cold blood, she would have told them they were mistaken, and she would have trusted in him. And that was what hurt Lelyna most of all. Her trust had been broken.
[ - Enter Rhysianโs Office - ]
Reaching his office door, she didnโt stop to think about what she was about to do. She didnโt even knock. Lelyna, someone who prided herself on her manners and politeness, her etiquette and decorum, gripped the handle to Rhysianโs office and threw open the door. She stepped inside, tears streaming down her face, a look of pure anguish on her face. Fists clenched, she took a gasping breath to stop herself from sobbing. Swallowing hard, she locked gazes with her mentor.
โYou killed them.โ Lelyna whispered at first, only to feel her anger overwhelm her anguish, giving her the courage, she never would have had normally. โYOU KILLED THEM! I saw you do it!โ She shouted, marching forward a few steps. Taking in a shuddering breath, she shook her head at him. โI trusted you! You were like a Father to me! And the whole time-!โ She sobbed, her expression shifting into one of pure pain as she covered her face with her hands.
Shoulders shaking, she shook her head and tried her best to banish her pain so she could properly confront him. Wiping at her eyes, she squared her shoulders and stood up straight. โTake Solace, that your death was nothing personal. You were simply in the wrong place, at the wrong time.โ She said as evenly as she could throwing his calmly uttered words back at him, the ones heโd given Nanashi just before ending his life.
Shaking her head, she took a deep, shuddering breath. โYouโre a murderer. A monster. And I trusted you!โ Now, he was going to get what he deserved; justice. Jesse would tell Gannon what had happened, and the Headmaster would punish Rhysian for all that heโd doneโฆLelyna was so sure of it, that she wasnโt afraid of what Rhysian might do to her. But as she stood there, facing a murderer who had limitless power, she felt a twinge of fear shoot up her spineโฆ
