I've noticed that there aren't that many of them-- or I haven't looked hard enough. Perhaps it is uncommon to see black emos?? Sometimes I feel out of place. sweatdrop

It's uncommon. I've noticed that most emos are either white or filipino.
This is going to sound very mean, but I don't mean it in the mean way: Most African Americans tend to be nearer to the gangster category. Same with latinos.
Maybe it's just that I live in California where just about EVERYONE is either gangster or prep....

In tha drrrty South, we don't get much of... well, any scene or emo or anything like that, we've got Redneck Scene (also known as Kevin Federline Wannabe) and then we've got gangsta'.

I've only met like, 2 or 3 people in the whole Southeast who fall under anything close to emo.

You aren't that out of place...or is it that you are, and so am I? I don't know. However, I know how you feel. I'm Hispanic, and I'm constantly criticized for my taste in the emo style.
