Story:
From the ashes of old conflicts, a new terror arises. The Umbrella Corporation and its crop of lethal viruses have been destroyed and contained. But a new, more dangerous threat has emerged. Years after surviving the events in Raccoon City, Chris Redfield has been fighting the scourge of bio-organic weapons all over the world. Now a member of the Bio-terrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSSA), Chris is sent to Africa to investigate a biological agent that is transforming the populace into aggressive and disturbing creatures. Joined by another local BSSA agent, Sheva Alomar, the two must work together to solve the truth behind the disturbing turn of events.

Characters:
Chris Redfield
Sheva Alomar
Albert Wesker

Enemies:
-Majini
-Chainsaw Majini
-Exposed Plagas Majini
-Executioner Majini
-Infected Dogs
-Infected Bat
-Flying Parasite
- Ndesu
-Lake Monster

Weapons:
::Melee::
-Knife

::Handgun::
Beretta M92F - Designed for the US Government to resist the wear and tear of daily operations while allowing improved aiming, the Beretta 92 is a semi-automatic pistol. Uses Handgun Ammo. This is the standard firearm for the B.S.A.A, meaning you'll be using it often in Resident Evil 5. While the firepower and reload stats are average, this gun has a high critical percent rating.
Samurai Edge - This custom Beretta M92F was designed for S.T.A.R.S and became standard for all members. It contains the S.T.A.R.S logo on the grip and includes more stopping power than the regular Beretta M92, and a stainless steel barrel. Members of the S.T.A.R.S team often customized their own Samurai Edge to their preference.
Heckler & Koch P8 - This semi-automatic pistol has become a standard for the German Armed Forces.
Sig P226 - This semi-automatic pistol has become a favorite among many armed forces, including the Navy SEALS.
Beretta M93r - Designed for military and police use, this select-fire machine pistol can fire in three-round bursts and is popular for the extra firepower it permits. Originally appeared in Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
Beretta PX4 - The Beretta PX4 Storm has become popular with law enforcement agencies.

:: Magnums::
S&W M29 - This powerful revolver has a magazine capacity of 6 and uses .44 caliber Magnum rounds. Capable of taking out most targets, unless they have assistance from, say, a biological virus...
Smith & Wesson Model 500 - The S&W M500 is a five-shot, double-action revolver that packs quite a punch. It has an extremely high firepower, but is limited by the ability to initially only hold five rounds.
Desert Eagle - Found in Resident Evil 2, the Desert Eagle was considered to be one of the most powerful weapons in the fact. This weapon should be more than capable of taking out most enemies.

::Shotguns::
Ithaca M37 - This 12-gauge shotgun has become popular among many police departments due to the fact that its light frame ensures that jams are a rarity. While this shotgun has a slow reload speed and only average firepower, its low cost helps make it popular.
Benelli M3 - The Benelli M3 aka Super 90 is a pump-action shotgun that holds 7 rounds and is widely used by police forces.
Striker - Making a return from Resident Evil 4, the Armsel DAO-12 Striker has a high ammo capacity, a high firing rate, and packs quite the punch.
"Mad Max" - Most likely an adaption of the shotgun from the movie Mad Max, this is a 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun.
Hydra - Designed for one-handed use, the Hydra's small size delivers devastating shots of buckshot ammunition, which easily offsets its low ammo capacity and poor reload speed.

::Sniper Rifles::
Sako 75 - With an extremely long range, the S75 Sniper Rifle is an effective means against picking enemies off from a distance. At some parts of the game, you'll need to use it to defend your ally from a distance. This is the basic rifle, and while it has the highest initial firepower of all the rifles, it has a very slow reload speed.
Dragunov - The SVD sniper rifle is a 7.62mm semi-automatic weapon that has become standard in many countries.
PSG1 - Designed for high accuracy, this precision sharpshooter rifle is considered to be an elite weapon, and has been used by Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service team members. It only has the ability to store five rounds when initially purchased, but can be upgraded to hold an impressive fifteen.

::Sub-Machine Guns::
VZ61 - The Škorpion vz. 61 sub-machine gun has a reputation for its ease of use and uses .32 ACP rounds. While it has little real firepower, it can be upgraded to carry a maximum of 300 rounds of ammunition.
MP5A5 - This German-designed sub-machine gun has been deployed widely among armed forces and law enforcement agencies around the globe, making it the most widely deployed sub-machine gun. The MP5A5 variant allows for a 3-round burst trigger grouping.

::Assault Rifles::
AK-74 - Designed as the successor to the AK-47 Assault Rifle, this weapon was common among Soviet-era forces.
SIG SG 550 - This assault rifle has become standard across many countries and is often used by US federal agencies. It has a strong firepower and the fastest reload speed of all machine guns.
Gatling gun - Big and bad, this rapid-firing weapon spits of bullets at an incredible rate of fire. Gatling guns are tradtionally too impractical to be used as hand-held weapons, so it is unlikely that Chris will be lugging one of these around.

::Explosives::
Flash Grenade - This grenade creates a powerful flash of light that blinds enemies for roughly 5 seconds. While this grenade does not damage to the target when thrown, it has been shown to be extremely effective against the Las Plagas parasite, which seems to suffer an adverse reaction to the light.
Explosive Grenade - Probably the most common grenade, this explosive grenade is thrown at the enemy. You don't want to be near it when it goes off, or you might take some damage yourself!
Incendiary Grenade - As the name implies, this grenade causes severe fire damage to anyone on its radius. Because of its lasting fire effect and its splash damage, it is very useful for situations that involve large numbers of enemies in tight crowds.
Grenade Launcher - Designed to fire grenades in a single shot, the Grenade Launcher is perfect for lobbing grenades at great distances. It can fire six different types of grenades. They are explosive, acid, nitrogen, flame, flash, and electric.
RPG-7 Rocket Launcher - A powerful and portable anti-tank rocket propelled grenade weapon, the RPG-7 is most likely to be one of the most powerful weapons in Resident Evil 5. While this rocket launcher will most likely be capable of doing large amounts of damage to anything it strikes, expect ammo to be a bit on the costly side.

::Misc::
Stun Rod - Use bursts of electricity to temporarily immobilize your opponents. Use it multiple times on the same target, and it could become lethal.

--T-Virus--

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Description
T-Virus, or Tyrant-Virus, was the second mutagenic virus developed by the Umbrella Corporation. The T-Virus was responsible for the creation of the majority of their Bio-Organic Weapons or BOWs. However, its intended purpose was to create the perfect BOW: the Tyrant. The T in T-Virus is an acronym for Tyrant, as it was designed, in the game, for death and destruction.

History
Research for the virus began in 1978 in Arklay Labs. Umbrella saw potential in the recently discovered Ebola virus that had just been found in Africa. The corporation saw limitless potential in the virus due to its nearly 90% death rate. Umbrella was very careful about its research. The Biological Weapons Convention prohibited the research and development of such things. So to get around this obstacle, Umbrella masqueraded their research, claiming they were trying to find a cure for it.

However, their research was halted. The Ebola virus proved to be unable to survive outside a human host for more than a few days due to its extreme sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. It also killed its host too quickly, which limited the chances for the host itself to infect others. Lastly, Ebola could only infect via direct contact with others, even further limiting the chances of infection.

Effects
The T-Virus is like any other virus. It is a protein crystal with an RNA core. As the crystal makes contact with a cell's membrane, it destroys it and inserts its RNA into the cell. The cell absorbs the viral genome into its own DNA, which takes over the cell's functions. The cell begins to produce offspring of the original virus. The new viruses are then released from the host cell and infect the neighboring cells, which starts the process all over again.

What the T-Virus does is kills any living mitochondria and replaces the dead ones with itself. The virus then combines with other cells to produce energy. The energy produced is just enough to power the motor neurons and the basic lower brain functions. Not only that, but this bypasses the entire circulatory system, which makes the heart and lungs redundant systems that can be disposed of.

However, the T-Virus can only properly function by consuming the cell in order to produce its energy and to divide via mitosis to spread around the body. This slow breakdown of cells leads to the necrotizing effects seen on most BOWs. The virus also incorporates itself into the host's RNA, which substantially alters it. This is why creatures, such as bees and spiders, only have very minor mutation, such as increased size, when compared to the human mutation caused by the virus. This is due to their lower stance in the evolutionary chain.

Should the human host be alive at the time of T-Virus infection, all higher brain functions are destroyed as the virus simply dissolves away the frontal lobes. This leaves only the telencephalon, better known as the cerebrum, to govern behavior. This leaves the infected host with a very animalistic behavior. As the virus spreads, it damages the hypothalamus. This produces a massive flood of neurotransmitters, enzymes, and hormones such as norepinephrine and dopamine. These effects, combined with the painful symptoms of the infection, induces a psychotic rage, persistent hunger, and increased aggressiveness in those infected.

Should the human host be dead at the time of infection, only enough energy is produced to power the lower brain functions. These functions are responsible for the most primal instincts, such as walking and eating.

In either case, their late-stage appearance and behavior are characteristics of their name-sake, that of the zombie.

Should a late-stage human host be rendered unconscious, the body will lay in a dormant phase appearing to be dead. In actuality the host is rapidly mutating due to the T-Virus becoming hyperactive. Within the timeframe of an hour, the decayed skeletal and muscular system is reconstructed into a stronger and more durable form, development can be seen of sharp canine teeth and razor claws, fresh blood seeps into remaining skin giving it a reddish hue, advances in decomposition, and intact eyes become a bright white. Umbrella researchers at the Arklay Laboratory have dubbed this stage as an V-ACT, commonly referred to as a Crimson Head. The brain is then jolted back to consciousness with a slight but important increase in intelligence, and large increase in agility and aggressiveness. As a consequence of this rapid mutation, cellular breakdown hits a critical point where the host cannot regenerate properly any longer and can effectively be killed permanently, given enough damage.

--G-Virus--

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Description
The G-Virus is a advanced strain of the Progenitor Virus with continuous mutagenic properties.

The G-Virus greatly increases the carrier's metabolism, accelerating cell duplication and revitalization of dead cells at the cost of higher brain function by continual destruction of mitochondria in neurons, causing the infected person to degrade to sub-human levels. The carrier exhibits animalistic behavior, loss of moral reasoning and becomes driven by self-preservation. Ultimately, carriers become creatures simply dubbed G-Mutants.

History
The G-Virus is the work of William Birkin, a scientist of the Umbrella Corporation. After years of viral experimentation on Lisa Trevor, daughter of George Trevor, the original designer of the Spencer Mansion, the discovery of the G-Virus comes during an experiment in which, Albert Wesker and William Birkin decided to test the NE-α Parasite on Lisa, with unexpected results. She absorbed the parasite and began to co-exist with it. Further experimentation brought light to the discovery of the G-Virus that had manifested within her body.

Infection
Infection from the G-Virus is caused by injection or ingesting the virus, but unlike creatures infected with the T-Virus, G-mutants cannot pass infection on to other creatures through physical contact or injury. Instead, they create offspring by impregnating small, parasitic organisms into a live host. In unfortunate consequences a host who is of no compatible DNA match will reject the parasite in a matter of hours. It rapidly grows inside its host before bursting from their chest in an homage to that seen in the Alien movie series. Once they leave the host body, the larva quickly mutate into their adult form and go in search of another host.

A DNA match can only be achieved by a blood relative of a G-mutant becoming impregnated. The embryo begins to pupate and assimilate the host body turning them into what can only be believed to be a mutant of immense strength. Sherry Birkin was infected by her father, but the parasite was destroyed with an experimental anti-G-Virus vaccine, codenamed DEVIL, before mutation could occur with help from her mother Annette Birkin and Claire Redfield.

Though what the G in G-Virus means is never explicitly stated, given that the antidote for it is called DEVIL, and the personality of William Birkin, it is a fair guess that G stands for God.

G-Virus verus T-Virus
The G-Virus is quite different to the T-Virus in terms of action and transmission. While both viruses have the characteristic of inciting mutation in infected organisms, the similarities end there. The G-Virus has none of the necrotic properties of the T-Virus, and as such, host organisms do not decompose (the characteristic rotting of the zombies).

The G-Virus is also much harder to transmit from one organism to the other. While the T-Virus can be transmitted by body fluids, direct attack from an infected organism, or even water, the G-Virus can only be transmitted by direct injection or active insemination of a parasite into the prospective host by a G-mutant, and G-mutants (as evidenced by Birkin and his spawn) instinctively attempt to reproduce. In this manner, G-Virus mutants act much more like living creatures than those infected with the T-Virus. While T-Virus infection can be considered accidental (as the host does not actually mean to infect its victim), G-mutants actively attempt to perpetuate their species. This has the frightening implication that, while the T-Virus is infinitely more contagious, a G-Virus epidemic would be nigh uncontrollable and actively hostile to humanity, as G-mutants would seek to reproduce over any other instinct.

The G-Virus also acts exponentially faster than the T-Virus, with William Birkin manifesting considerable physical mutation mere seconds after infection. Apparently, direct injection of the virus is nigh incurable, as it acts much too fast for a vaccine to be effective. Infection by parasitic infestation, however, can be controlled much like the T-Virus, with a vaccine being effective if administered during the initial stages of infection, before the larva can gestate. While the T-Virus' effects on long term, controlled exposure are well documented(Tyrant, the Hunters and the Lickers being examples), the effects of such exposure to the G-Virus are unknown, as there was no testing in this field done before the Raccoon City incident. However, results of such manipulation of the virus COULD be seen in future instalments off the series, since both HUNK and Ada Wong were able to procure samples of the virus for Umbrella and Albert Wesker, respectively. However, if the effect of said exposure was similar to the T-Virus and T-Veronica virus, such bioweapons would theoretically be the absolute deadliest creatures ever made by Umbrella. Birkin himself, an accidental G-mutant, was more powerful and deadly than any creature created with the T-Virus on purpose. The effects of the G-Virus on non-human hosts is unknown, but they are probably just as radically powerful and unstable as their human counterparts in comparison to the T-Virus.

--Wesker Report 1--

Story:
Introduction
My name is Albert Wesker. I aspired to become a leading researcher at Umbrella Inc. A pharmaceutical enterprise who covertly conduction Bio Organic Weapons, better known as B.O.W., for development. But at the leader development training ground situated in Raccoon City, I met a brilliant and talented researcher who decided to take a different path; William Birkin.

In time I shifted my position to S.T.A.R.S., a special force unit of the Raccoon Police Department. Umbrella, for crisis management reasons of their illegal Bio Organic Weapons development had many of its people working in the police department.

I became the leader of S.T.A.R.S. and conducted all sorts of intelligence activities for Umbrella. As I continued to serve I devised my own plans and waited for the right time moment to execute them. Then at last, opportunity knocked.

July 24, 1998
The freak murder incidents that had occurred in the forest near the mansion started it all. The mansion was Umbrella's secret BOW laboratory and it was clear that the indevelopment T-Virus was the cause of the murder. Initially, Umbrella instructed me secretively to keep S.T.A.R.S. to the mansion, dispose of them, then report the situation to headquarters so that their combat with the B.O.W. could be used for data analysis allowing Umbrella a comprehensive portrait of the B.O.W.'s combat abilities.

From the two S.T.A.R.S. teams I first pitched in the Bravo Team. As expected, the top elite of S.T.A.R.S. gave all they had and became useful sample data. Then following, I geared up the Alpha Team to "search and rescue" the lost Bravo Team. The members of Alpha Team also proved their worth and as expected many died.

There were five survivors from the initial eleven S.T.A.R.S. members. From the Alpha team were Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Barry Burton. And from the Bravo Team were Rebecca Chambers and Enrico Marini. It was time to begin executing my plans.

In the midst of the whole affair I could take Umbrella's ultimate Bio- Organic Weapon, the Tyrant, and join forces with an opposing corporation of Umbrella. To buy into that opposing corporation I would need the actual combat data of the Tyrant. The surviving privileged members of S.T.A.R.S. were just the perfect bait.

I decided to have one of them play the Judas and draw them to the Tyrant. That Judas was Barry. Barry was the strong truth and justice kind and cherished his family more than anything. His type is easy to manipulate. I just took that most important thing away from him.

My only miscalculation was the high potential of Chris and Jill. But with the family man Barry playing Judas the scheme went as planned. Then the winds turn unexpectedly. I had to eliminate Enrico who found out what was behind it all. I used Barry to get to him.

After I successfully got rid of that nuisance I awaited the sample specimen that Barry would bring to me in the Tyrant room. I injected the virus I obtained from Birkin in advance. If I made Umbrella believe I was dead, it made it far more convenient to sell myself to the opposing corporation.

According to Birkin the virus had profound effects. It would put my body in a state of temporary "death". It would then bring me back to life with super human powers. Therefore I unleashed an awesome Tyrant from its slumber and let it attack me. As my consciousness faded away I was certain that the whole scheme would end in success.

Never did I imagine that S.T.A.R.S. could slay the evil creation. I lost the Tyrant and the plan I devised which cost me my humanity ended in failure. Now anything and anyone who stood in my way would be terminated. It's been that way for a long time and it always will be. At all costs I had to make S.T.A.R.S. pay.

September 1998
Two months had passed since the mansion incident.

To regain everything I had lost in my new organization I joined hands with Ada Wong, a female agent who was also sent to spy on Umbrella. I knew in my bones that the key developer was William Birkin, but what he didn't know was that Umbrella did not play games...with anyone.

Eventually, Birkin would be assassinated, and the G-virus would be in the hands of Umbrella. But the salvage team led by Hunk was ahead of us. By the time they got to Birkin, he'd already injected himself with the G-virus...he became his own creation, and decimated them. Soon after, the T-virus carried by rats spread throughout Raccoon City, and Umbrella faced its worst scenario.

September 28, 1998
The good citizens became zombies, and the city had headed for its devastating fate. Humans were no match against zombies. In the chaos, Umbrella Europe applied a new type B.O.W., called "Nemesis". The Nemesis would hunt down and destroy the surviving member of S.T.A.R.S., Jill. It became imperative that our organization would also obtain the Nemesis data.

September 29, 1998
To cover up the whole affair, Umbrella jettisoned a Tyrant to take care of Leon and Claire, who were trying to unveil their secrets. Then, there was a new revelation. Birkin used to hide the findings of his studies in his daughter Sherry's pendant.

It was very possible that the G-virus was there. While Umbrella was busy with their cover up, we had to capture Sherry before they did. I sent Ada undercover to seek the location of Sherry. I, the "dead man" on the other hand, had to work in the shadows.

A spy's obligation and priority is in mission, to carry out the mission like a machine without any emotional interference. But through her interaction and involvement with Leon Scott Kennedy, there had been an affection growing inside her. My instincts sensed danger. Something had to be done, quickly. My instincts did not disappoint me.

Even though Ada almost had her hands on the G-virus, which Leon had acquired from Sherry, that affection of her drove her to her death. But she was still of some use. I had to save her life. My people hurried to retrieve the G-virus that Leon threw away.

But Hunk, the only survivor of Umbrella's salvage team, was there before us.

September 30, 1998
Our only option left was to bring back Birkin, the monster, as the sample specimen and have him finish Leon and Claire in order to obtain his combat data.

Although Birkin lost the battle to Leon and Claire, we succeeded in gathering samples of the G-virus from his dead body.

October 1, 1998
In the morning the government bombed Raccoon City in an attempt to stop for the viral outbreak. This was, of course, their feigned reason... Later, Claire left to Europe to find her lost brother Chris, and Leon joined forces with an underground anti-Umbrella organization.

Sherry is safe in our hands. I would never underestimate Birkin. There's something about this little girl..."

--Wesker Report 2--

Story:
July 31, 1978

The first time I visited that place, it was the summer of my 18th year. That makes it about 20 years ago.

As I got off the helicopter, I remember the sight of the swirling wind that the blades whipped into the air. When viewed from above the old mansion seemed quite normal, but when seen from the ground there was something foreboding and unapproachable about it. Birkin (my junior by 2 years) seemed, as usual, to only be concerned with his research notes.

We were assigned to the mansion 2 days earlier, on the day that the executive training center we had previously been attached to was closed. It all seemed like it was planned and too much of a coincidence. But probably the only person who knew the real truth was Spencer.

Spencer was one of the main guys in charge of America's "T-Virus" research at the Arklay Research Facility.

As soon as we got off the helicopter the head of the facility was standing in front of the elevator ready to greet us.

I can't even remember the guy's name. Who really cares about formalities and figureheads like him? From that day on, the Arklay Research Center was ours. As Chief Researchers, we were put completely in charge of all aspects of the facility. Of course that is just how Spencer had planned it all out. He chose us.

We ignored the facility head and got on the elevator. I had already memorized the building layout the day before, and Birkin, although he has no bad intentions, never really paid much attention to other people.

Most people probably get pretty irked within the first 5 seconds that they meet us.

However, the facility head had no reaction at all.

Back then I was a young buck completely full of himself, so I didn't really pay the facility head any mind.

But in the end, I was really only Spencer's puppet. And the facility head, whose boss was also Spencer, at least actually knew what Spencer was up to, and what he was thinking.

The whole time we were riding in the elevator, Birkin never took his eye off of the documents he was holding.

The document that Birkin was scrutinizing so closely was a report about a new virus that had shown up in Africa. It was called "Ebola".

At this moment there were many people, all throughout the world, who were studying the Ebola Virus. However, there were two major reasons why they were studying it. To help people and...to kill them.

As you probably know, the death rate of someone infected with Ebola is 90 percent. In 10 days it quickly destroys a person's organs. Even now, there are no known ways to prevent it or cure it. It could, quite possibly, destroy a large part of the human race.

Of course even before this, due to the "Biological Weapons Prohibition Pact", it was illegal for us to study the virus as a weapon. However, even if we weren't the ones to research it, there was no proof that someone else wouldn't be doing that same thing and so it was considered acceptable for us to research it--just in case. There is a thin line in international law between what is acceptable and what is prohibited.

And so, it became necessary to research how the virus would be used as a method of prevention, not as a weapon. There really is no difference in the way in which you research a virus as a cure, however, from how you research it as a weapon.

Since the two are very similar, it is possible to pretend you are researching a cure, while in fact, be researching the virus as a weapon.

At that time, even though Birkin may have been looking at the Ebola report, he wasn't really researching the Ebola virus. The Ebola Virus had too many "weak spots".

First of all, the virus could only survive for a few days if not inside a human body. It would soon "die" if under sunlight (ultra-violet light) for too long.

Secondly, since it kills the host too quickly there isn't enough time to transfer/infect other hosts.

Finally, the virus is only transferable through direct touch and so it can be easily prevented.

Try to imagine the following: If a person who was heavily infected (the disease had spread all throughout their body) could actually stand and walk around? And, without knowing it, was in direct contact with other people, of their own accord...
What if the RNA of the Ebola Virus could actually alter a person's genetic code? And if, through that, a person was able to carry the virus without dying? What if this person had the resilience of a beast?

That is, wouldn't this person be a "living dead" whose body carried the virus? Something that could infect others, sort of like a "living biological weapon".

I guessed that we were lucky that the Ebola Virus didn't have the potential to do such things.

I wondered if we would be successful in holding on to such a virus without it getting into the wrong person's hands?

The Arklay Lab headed up by Spencer was built for that purpose, it seemed. To create a disease capable of the characteristics I listed above. Officially it was just a pharmaceutical company researching cures to viruses, but the truth is, it was really a factory for manufacturing biological weapons.

The origin of the company was based on the creation of the "Mother" virus by recombining genes.

In order to produce "biological weapons" out of this new "Mother", or Progenitor virus, Spencer and his team of researchers began studying "virus mutations" in order to strengthen the virus they had created.

This was known as the "T-Virus" experiment.

RNA based viruses can easily be mutated. Through those mutations, it is possible to strengthen their traits.

The reason Birkin was so interested in the Ebola Virus was that he was thinking of recombining the Ebola genes with the Progenitor virus to strengthen its attributes. By the time we had arrived at the research center there was already a sample of the Ebola Virus waiting for us.

We changed elevators several times and finally reached the upper level of the complex. When we arrived even Birkin looked up.

It was the first time we had met "her".

We hadn't heard a single word about "her" before. She was a secret of the utmost confidentiality at the research center. And they didn't let any information about her out of the compound.

According to the records, she was at the research center from the very moment it was first built.

She was 25.

But we didn't know her name, nor why she was here.

She was to be used as the experimental subject host for the T-Virus. The day they had begun experimentation was November 10th, 1967.

They did T-Virus experiments on her for 11 years running.

Birkin mumbled something.

Maybe they were words cursing our situation. Maybe they were words of praise. In any case, we had come to the point of no return now.

We had two choices: to succeed in our research...or to lay here rotting like she was. Of course that meant we really only had one choice.

She was bound to a "pipe bed" and something about her made me think...

Had this been a part of Spencer's plan all along?

(The report continues 3 years later)

July 27, 1981

Today, a 10 year-old girl was sent here, as a chief researcher, from Umbrella's Antarctica Research Facility.

Her name was Alexia Ashford.

I was 21 and Birkin was 19.

As annoying as it was, the whole Arklay complex was rampant with rumors of "Antarctica Alexia". Nobody talked about anything else.

Her family had been with Umbrella since the beginning. The older guys at Umbrella knew the legendary Ashford name.

Before, if we ever reached a dead end in our research, one of the old timers would say "if only Professor Edward were still alive"...

If I remembered correctly, "Edward Ashford" was one of the people who first discovered the "Mother Virus" and was one of the scientists who originally planned the creation of the T-Virus.

However, he died soon after Umbrella was founded. It was 13 years since his death. So was there really anything to gain by having high expectations of the "Ashford" lineage?

And, in fact, the Antarctic Research Center founded by his son hadn't yielded a single result.

Didn't people understand the limits of Alexia's smarts? She was only Edward's grandchild after all.

But from the day she came, our worthless, good for nothing subordinates began to say "It's a good thing Alexia is here".

She may have been from a famous family, carrying great genes within her, but nonetheless, I knew it was going to be a real hassle having subordinates with such a lack of good judgement.

It's idiots like that, who, if they accidentally stuck their foot in a bucket, wouldn't be able to move or figure out what to do unless someone told them.

At least I could still tell the difference.

However, if, at that time, I had allowed myself to get upset over the whole thing, it would have just slowed down our progress on the T-Virus research.

Unless you can keep cool and still be decisive no matter what the circumstances, then success will always evade you.

At that time I was thinking this:

By making good use of the past, we could definitely yield good results. And if some of those "old timers" could feasibly die at any second, then they would make great test subjects.

After all, do you think it is possible to stand above the people if you can't rationally use them as human resources" as well?

However, the problem was Birkin.

The way he reacted to the Alexia rumors was terrible.

He never really said it, but for Birkin, the fact that he was the youngest person to ever be a chief researcher was always something he was proud of.

That pride was severely injured by having a mere 10 year-old become a chief researcher. It was probably the first time someone so talented as he had ever tasted defeat.

He just couldn't accept this "younger girl of good lineage".

To be made a fool by someone who hadn't gotten any results. Someone who had worked so far removed from the lab before.

The fact that he couldn't get over it showed his immaturity.

However, even though he was still immature, no matter what, I had to bring him back to his senses.

It was during these three years that our research moved up to the 2nd level.

It was at this point that we fixed upon the idea of making a "living biological weapon". We started to call the "T-Virus" by a new name -- "Zombie".

However, it was impossible to get a 100% infection ratio. Within people there is a subtle difference that the virus couldn't totally overtake. It seems compatibility was a major factor, then.

About 10 percent of the people who were injected with the "Zombie Virus" didn't get infected. And this was something that, no matter how hard we researched, we just couldn't overcome.

A disease that would affect 90 percent of all humans seemed to me to be quite an effective weapon, though. But Spencer didn't see it that way. Spencer said that he was hoping for a specialty virus that could easily wipe out everyone.

But, why in the world would he want something like that?

One important characteristic of biological weapons was that they could be developed cheaply. However, the "biological weapon" that we were researching started to become very costly.

If Spencer was in it just for the money, then he probably wouldn't have chosen to spend the extra money on researching a specialty virus that infected and wiped out 100% of its victims. It just wasn't financially worth it.

Why would he want to ignore all financial concerns just to continue the research?

If by changing the idea of war (through biological warfare) he was attempting to monopolize all military industries, then I would have understood that, but...

Even to this day, I have no idea what his true intentions were.

But whatever Spencer's real reason, Birkin was planning on making a biological weapon that would increase a country's military might.

Not to just manipulate the genes of the "T-Virus", but also by adding other genetic data he was planning on creating "him". A military biological weapon that could annihilate those who went unaffected by the virus, as well as people who were wearing anti-viral gear and equipment. This weapon was later named "Hunter".

However, that experiment was temporarily put on hold. In order to protect the test subjects from Birkin.

Birkin's pace was quickened by Alexia's existence. He began to act "out of the ordinary". He would stay at the lab for 24 hours straight. Attempt experiments that he hadn't really thought out.

I tried to use other researchers to get as many samples from the subjects before they died, but I just couldn't keep up with his pace.

The head facilitator brought in a new subject, as if nothing had ever happened. But she, too, soon died.

It was hell.

And within that hell there was but one person living -- the female test subject that continued to live on. She was already 28 years old. Having lived 14 of her years in this research facility. Someone whose consciousness had been taken away by the "Progenitor virus that had been injected into her 14 years ago. Someone who, if they did happen to still retain any humanity, would only hope for death.

But she continued to survive.

Why was only she able to survive this long? Her basic experiment data and that of other subjects seemed to be the same.

It would still take a long time for us to solve this riddle.

(The report continues 2 years later)

December 31st, 1983

The winter of my sixth year at the Arklay Research Center.

For the past 2 years, there were no significant results and time seemed to just stagnate, but before long we had a breakthrough.

The thing that started it all was a report we got that morning.

Antarctica Alexia had died.

The cause of her death was that she accidentally got infected by a virus that she, herself, was researching. It was called the "T-Veronica Virus".

Alexia was 12 years old. It seems she was just a little too young to be undertaking such dangerous experiments.

There were many rumors to be heard. One particular rumor actually suggested that she injected the "T-Veronica" into her own body. But no matter what the circumstances I find that particular "theory" to be implausible.

Probably she was just so shaken up over her father's disappearance a few months earlier that she just made a mistake in the experiment.

After that, Alexia's last remaining blood relative, her twin brother who had worked in the Antarctica Research Center came and picked up her work where she left off. But no one had any expectations of him.

In the end, the Ashford family was basically dead...without even yielding a single advance for the experiment.

It was just as I thought. A legend is, after all, merely that...a legend.

After the news of Alexia's death, Birkin changed. Or I guess I should say, he returned back to his normal self.

But I guess the biggest thing was that all of his subordinates now had no choice but to think of him as the main researcher. Since, now, there was no one who could surpass his talents.

However, it also became taboo for anyone to talk about Alexia in front of him.

He fiercely opposed me when I planned on getting a sample of the T-Veronica Virus.

I had no choice but to put finding the truth about Alexia's research on the back burner.

In the end, even though the situation was at its best, Birkin himself failed to grow up and advance his research.

However, at that time I was concerned more about a different question at hand.

The Arklay research center was surrounded by a dense forest.

I often hiked through the forest, but since the center was located in a mountainous region there was never anyone to be found nearby.

The only method of transportation was by helicopter. And the center wasn't exactly the type of place that people came to visit.

One important reason for the fact that the center was located in such an isolated location was to prevent the virus from getting out in the instance of a "leak".

However, biological weapons aren't that simple. Viruses don't only infect humans. They can infect other things as well. Any virus is usually capable of infecting more than one host.

For example, the number of species that the ordinary "influenza virus" (the common flu) is recognized as infecting are birds, pigs, horses, seals, and humans. The difficult part is that not all types of animals/people within a species are affected. Even though, within the bird species, ducks and chickens are affected, all other birds are not.

And, if a virus mutates, then the kinds and number of hosts it affects changes.

So it is impossible to create a virus that is capable of affecting everything.

And that was the main problem--trying to adapt the T-Virus so that it would affect everything that it came into contact with.

During the time Birkin had become "useless", I had started investigating the T-Virus's infection rate.

It was then that I found out the T-Virus could infect almost any kind of living thing. Not just animals, but plants, insects, fish -- almost any species. The virus had the power to expand and disperse all over the earth.

Whenever I would leave the center for a walk in the woods I would always think to myself...

Why did Spencer choose this place?

Because there were lots of different types of species concentrated in the woods. If the virus ever did get out here, then what would happen to a place where there were this many types of living things present?

In the case of insects, they are small so you might not think of them as dangerous even if they are secondary carriers of the virus. However, insects usually exist in swarms, and that huge number makes them a very dangerous carrier, indeed.

If they were carriers then how far would the virus spread?

If a plant was a carrier, since they can't move, you wouldn't expect them to be able to infect many people. However, what about the pollen that comes from plants?

Considering those factors, the center was an extremely dangerous place to run "virus research".

And if you really think about it, the location of the Ashford's Antarctica Research Center was really a much safer and obvious choice.

It would almost seem as if this place was specifically chosen, as a location, for the purpose of "spreading" the virus. But, I just can't imagine that would really be so.

What is Spencer trying to get us to do?

This was a major issue. So big that I couldn't tell the other researchers.

At this time the only person that I felt I could have talked with about this was Birkin, but it was evident that telling him would be meaningless.

I needed more information.

It was at that time that I first began to feel the limitations of my position as researcher.

I needed to get myself a position that had more access to information that would reveal Spencer's true objective. I felt no love lost for throwing away my position as a researcher in order to find out.

But I couldn't rush things. Because if Spencer ever got wind to what I was doing then it would be all over.

I jumped back into my research and it was "business as usual" so as not to call attention to my plans.

During those times, the female test subject that continued to survive was left in some corner and forgotten.

A living could-have-been. We began to call her that sometime after she stopped yielding useful data for us.

At least, until 5 years later that is...

--Wesker Report 2--(continued)

July 1st, 1988

The summer of our 11th year at Arklay was just starting.

I was already 28. Birkin had become a father and already had a 2 year-old daughter. His wife was one of the researchers that worked at Arklay.

You would normally think it hard to understand someone wanting to get married and raise a child, all the while doing their research.

But, it is said that only "non-ordinary" people ever continued to do research at Arklay. Only the crazy ones ever succeeded there.

And so, after 10 long years, our research finally reached the 3rd stage.

To create a living biological weapon that was a soldier that would follow strict orders, obey its program, and have intelligence.

It was the so-called "Tyrant", basically a monster that we set out to create.

However, there was a major obstruction to our research back then. Finding a suitable host body for "Tyrant".

The biggest problem was that suitable bodies for Tyrant were, at that time, genetically very limited.

The source of the problem lay in the nature of the T-Virus.

The T-Virus mutation used to create "zombies" and "hunters" could be used on just about any human but it would also cause a decline in the subjects brain capacity.

If the subject didn't have a certain amount of intelligence, then it couldn't function as a Tyrant.

Birkin tried solving the problem by picking out new mutagens that would keep down the wear and tear on the subjects brain so long as the subject fit the "Tyrant profile.

However, the number of people that had suitable genetics to accept the tyrant cells were very limited. In a genetic analysis simulation it was found that only 1 in a million had the genetic make-up to become a "Tyrant." Any other person would merely become a regular zombie.

If we would have continued with our research then I'm sure we would have found a way to make a different type of T-virus that could change more people into "Tyrants".

However, in order to do that research, we first needed people that were perfectly suitable for the new mutation.

However, the odds of us being able to bring one of those few people, living in America, that fit the profile was extremely low.

In the end, the only thing they were able to do was to, by force, bring a few "close contenders" in from other labs.

Even before we had the chance to start our research, it seemed we had already hit an obstacle.

At that time I heard a rumor about another location in Europe where they had already reached the "third level" of producing a living biological weapon using a method that no one had thought of.

It was known as the "Nemesis Project".

In order to change the stagnant working pace and conditions, I took it upon myself to get a sample of one of the subjects from that project.

Of course Birkin first disagreed with me, but in the end I was able to get him to reconsider.

Everyone had no choice but to recognize the fact that, until we found a suitable "Tyrant" subject, our research wasn't going anywhere.

The package from Europe came at midnight, several days later, after a series of broadcasts, proposals, and counterproposals.

The box that contained "it" landed on the helicopter pad.

It read "Nemesis Prototype".

I had to use some very strong tactics to get the "thing" from where it was being researched in France, but all the while, Spencer was backing me up, pulling all of his strings and using his influence.

Only Birkin showed no interest in "it" until the end. But he, at least, recognized it as an important part of the experiment.

The sample was developed to create a never before seen, totally new life-form. By manipulating genes, they had artificially created a "living parasite".

That was what "Nemesis" really was.

It could latch onto another organism's brain and then take control of the host's brain bringing it a high-level of destructive power.

By combining intelligence with a destructive body suitable for battle, they were able to form the ultimate biological weapon.

And if they could complete the project then they would be capable of creating "warlike bodies" without having to worry about the intelligence issue.

However, the problem was that the parasite was not stable.

The only thing written within the document that was attached to the sample was "Failure--sample died" over and over again.

Anything that had been affected and whose intelligence was being controlled would die within 5 minutes.

We all understood that messing around with the prototype was very dangerous. If we could only somehow manage to extend the amount of time that the hosts would live then we could take control over the project. That was what I was aiming for.

Of course we would use "her" as our test subject. Surely her unusually high endurance would be perfect for sustaining the Nemesis prototype parasite for a long time. Even if she didn't last that long, it's not as if we would have lost anything special anyway.

However, the experiment yielded a result that was opposite from what I was predicting.

The Nemesis parasite that tried to enter her brain disappeared.

At first, I didn't even know what was going on. I couldn't believe that "she" would be the one to mix with the parasite genes without dying.

That was the beginning.

Somewhere within that "undying" body of hers, there had been a change...We had to re-examine her from head to toe one more time. During our 10 years of research she had already been totally and thoroughly examined but this time we ignored that previous data.

After the 21 years that she had been here, something was finally happening for the first time. After she had already survived longer than other subjects who had received the Nemesis virus, it was only Birkin that started to realize what was happening.

There was something within "her".

That something was a deviation from the T-Virus plan.

Something new that gave way to a new form.

Something that changed our destiny.

It was the beginning of the "G-Virus plan".

(The report continues 7 years later)

July 31st, 1995

It had been 17 years since I first came here.

When I arrived this time, I remembered the wind. The scenery and buildings from the surrounding area hadn't changed a bit.

I saw Birkin standing on the helipad. He arrived before I did. Meeting with him somehow seemed nostalgic.

It had been 4 years since I had left the Arklay Research Center.

4 years ago, when Birkin's proposed "G-Virus" plan was approved, I put in a transfer request for the "special investigations" division within the company, and my request was immediately approved.

The fact that I had given up on being a researcher and needed a change probably seemed like a natural change that most people go through.

Actually, the truth of the matter was that "G" had already reached a level that was beyond my ability.

And even if I wasn't really here to discover Spencer's "true intentions", I think that, at that time, I would have definitely realized the limitations of my ability.

As the wind danced around the helicopter, Birkin was, as usual, fixated on some document.

Apparently, he was coming to Arklay on a routine basis, but he was no longer assigned here.

A while ago, he had been transferred to a huge underground research facility in Raccoon City. That was the main facility for his "G-Virus" research.

But to tell the truth, 4 years ago I really didn't think that Spencer would approve of "G". Because, it deviated from the idea of a "weapon" and it was created with too many unknowns left unsolved.

The big difference between "G" and the "T-Virus" was that a body infected with "G" would spontaneously continue to mutate. Of course a virus's genes are unprotected so it quickly mutates. But the cells within a living organism are different. Even if the subjects genetic make-up had been altered by the virus, the cells within the organism's body rarely can be mutated.

Of course, by using external stimuli, such as radiation, you can make mutations occur within a living body.

However, a body that is infected with "G" continues to mutate, without any outer stimuli, until the host dies.

Even the "T-virus" has lots of attributes that are quite similar to "G".

It has already been observed that the genetic make-up of one of the "living biological weapons" (a person infected with the T-Virus), who has been placed in a special setting, has continuously "changed".

But in order for this change to occur it is necessary to use outer stimuli as a catalyst. And one can mildly predict which changes are likely to occur.

However, there are no such "laws" concerning a body infected with "G".

No one can predict just how someone infected with "G" will change. No matter what kind of method you use to try to cope with "G", it continually changes, making that "method" ineffective.

7 years ago Birkin noticed a little bit of this effect in the female test subject.

There wasn't the slightest change in her appearance, but deep within her something was constantly changing and she continued to co-exist with the virus used in the experiments.

And so after 21 years of inner mutations, even the "Nemesis parasite" just became one more mutation within her body.

The "G-Virus Plan" was a plan to push those characteristics to the utmost limit.

However, the thing that lay ahead could be an evolution to the "final form" for mankind...or it could be a finale in which the organism merely dies...

Could we really call that a weapon?

What was Spencer thinking when he approved this plan?

Even though I had been working within the intelligence sector for these 4 long years, I had still been unable to figure out what Spencer was planning.

And now Spencer has stopped coming to Arklay. Almost as if something that he has been eagerly awaiting and expecting had been set in motion. Spencer, like some mirage floating in the desert, had begun to grow farther and farther away from me. But I was sure that a chance would present itself to me eventually.

That was, of course, if I lived long enough to see that day.

Birkin and I got on the elevator and rode to the top floor. To the place where we had first met "her".

A man named John, Birkin's successor and new chief researcher, was waiting there for us.

He came from a research center in Chicago and was supposedly a very talented scientist but he was a little too straight-laced to be working at a place like this.

He began to question the inhumanity of what was going on in the labs and made his opinions known to the upper-level executives.

I had heard rumors about him in intelligence circles.

Everyone seemed to agree that if any information ever leaked out, he would probably be the culprit.

We ignored John and kept on walking, and then began the final disposal procedures on her.

"You must kill her". Those were the orders, as simple as that.

Due to her being infected with "Nemesis", although only a minor amount, she started to "think" and become conscious.

She started to act in grotesque ways.

Her behavior had continued to escalate and now she wore the face of another woman that she had peeled off just like a mask.

According to reports, she had behaved exactly the same way when initially injected with the "Progenitor virus" all those years ago.

I don't know why she began to act in such a way, but because she recently killed 3 researchers, the higher-ups had decided to dispose of her.

With the "G" research on the right track, there was no real use for a test subject like her anymore.

After constantly checking and re-confirming for 3 days the fact that she was indeed dead, her corpse was, as per the Facility Head's order, taken away somewhere.

In the end, I never did find out who she was and why she was brought here.

Of course, she was merely a test subject.

But still though, if she hadn't been here then there wouldn't have been any "G Plan". And Birkin and I would probably be leading different lives now.

I left the Arklay Research Center thinking that very thing.

I wondered how much of this was according to Spencer's "plan".

The unknown character that stalks Jill, widely known as "Nemesis", is actually Umbrella's T-virus BOW test subject "Nemesis T-type". It means "Goddess of Vengeance", and it was nicknamed "Nemesis? by its research team, as they were going to make S.T.A.R.S. members pay for what they did to the Tyrant.

Nemesis was a BOW developed by the European branch of researchers in Umbrella Headquarters, as a parasite that aimed to control any T-virus BOW. When the parasite is implanted into a BOW, it will control the body and also enhance its combat effectiveness.

Although T-virus BOWs are being researched and developed by every research team in all Umbrella branches, all results produced were mostly failures, which ended up with low intelligence. In the military, besides combat, the intelligence to understand and follow orders is important too.

The American branch research team under William Birkin, after countless attempts to control DNA, succeeded in making the Tyrant T-001. Shaped like a human and with the high combat effectiveness of the Tyrant, it gained a large reputation in Umbrella Headquarters. However, it lacked intelligence.

On the other hand, the research team in the European branch, unlike Birkin's research team, focused on enhancing the BOW's intelligence. Countless theories and attempts were made. At first, they tried the operation method, that is, improving the level of intelligence by operating on the brain of the BOW. Now, they had advanced to the level of their research to the point of increasing the intelligence of the BOW by just inserting a parasite. The team imported a lot of BOWs from the American research team under Birkin, and made many experiments.

As the American branch under Birkin successfully improved and created a better Tyrant, the "T-002 model", which can follow simple orders easily, the European research team had created a test product parasite, the "NE-Alpha".

The "NE-Alpha" was tested on the BOW "Hunter", and again countless experiments were made. To better demonstrate the result, the European team imported many new Tyrants, the "T-103 model".

At this time, the parasite had already gone through many modifications, and this was implanted into a Tyrant and was called the "Nemesis T".

Ability of Nemesis

The Nemesis parasite was implanted into the spine of the Tyrant. In this case, the parasite catalyses the T-virus cells in the body and the result is an invasion of the brain by the new bunch of cells, gaining the control of its cerebrum.

Nemesis will form a second "brain" behind the original one, taking over the jobs of the former brain. The organs will be under the control of the "Nemesis". Its healing ability and speed will be greatly enhanced by the Nemesis, but the most significant improvements will be from the results of the improved intelligence of the Nemesis. As time passes, the Nemesis will take over control of the main and former brain too.

The Europe branch research team developed 4 Nemesis T models. One of the Nemeses maintained the capability of independent thought during a stage of development, and attempted to break free. Although the Nemesis was based on the
Tyrant-T103, the great results of the parasite shocked the developers themselves.

The Nemesis was destroyed, and the rest of the Nemeses got their intelligence "restricted".

In the Raccoon City incident, the Tyrant sent into action was the second model of the Nemesis, the "Nemesis-T02", which have undergoes the longest period of training.

(NEMESIS NORMAL MODE)
The Nemesis T-02 is very smart. Smarter than the Tyrant that Umbrella had been using. The Rocket Launcher that Nemesis uses in this game is designed specifically for Nemesis, and is too heavy for a human to carry, let alone operate it.

Records have shown that Nemesis has many more weapons up its sleeves, such as the COMBAT KNIFE, 65' HANDGUN, ASSAULT RIFLE and even a GRENADE LAUNCHER.

(NEMESIS CAUTIOUS MODE)
Although the black armour of Nemesis is slightly bullet proof, under heavy fire, Nemesis will still sustain damage. Then it will turn to "cautious" mode. There is no significant change in the appearance, but the defence system will cause it to use part of its tentacles as a weapon now. In normal mode, the tentacles were only used to inject the NE-T virus into its victim. Now, the tentacles contain a liquid compound, which affects the nervous system of the victim, restricting the victim?s movement.

(NEMESIS 2ND MODE)
After sustaining heavy damage, Nemesis will produce a type of secretion that speeds up the reaction of its cells. The result is the recovery of wounds, but it severely affects the normal recovery system when it is in normal mode. As the speed of the cell reactions becomes faster, the appearance of Nemesis will begin to transform, bringing it more further than a human face. Under this condition, Nemesis will slightly enlarge a little, and the tentacles now loosen up, flowing more freely than usual. This will mean a greater tendency to infect a human and is therefore much more dangerous.

Unlike Tyrant, Nemesis will not go berserk under a mutation.

(NEMESIS 3RD MODE)
After Nemesis had gone through much more damage, some of the functions of Nemesis were disabled. This in turn spikes a mutation. Nemesis will lose its head when it undergoes this final weird mutation, and this time, even Nemesis will not be able to withstand the mutation and will go out of control.

Nemesis will start devouring all sorts of living creatures it comes across in order to obtain the nutrients needed to grow bigger.
The tentacles will wrap and tangle around its self to form the limbs that replace the hands and legs, which had gone amiss during the mutation.

The fast chemical reaction inside the internal body of the Nemesis will start to create a conflict between the T-virus cell and the Nemesis cell. The confliction of the 2 virus cells will cause a chain reaction in which they will swell together as a result, bursting out of the body of the Nemesis like a bubble, and spat out as a highly acidic compound of the T-virus and the Nemesis-T virus!

Despite the mutation, Nemesis will never forget its mission... to wipe out the STARS.

The Reason To Send In Nemesis

The reason to send Nemesis into Raccoon City was to eliminate the surviving S.T.A.R.S member(s).

The Umbrella HQ decided to send the Umbrella Special Forces Unit (USFU) into Raccoon City to assassinate William Birkin. They planned to kill him and steal his G-virus before he betrayed Umbrella by joining its rival company(ies).

But, Umbrella knows that should the S.T.A.R.S. members know their plan, it will be difficult for Umbrella to carry it out. Since the mansion incident, S.T.A.R.S members had discovered the true face of Umbrella. There are reports that the surviving S.T.A.R.S members are planning to make an attack on Umbrella. Although the reports are still uncertain and there have been no obvious signs of action from the STARS survivors, Umbrella is still very wary of them.

If William Birkin has the S.T.A.R.S members on his side, he might expose Umbrella's illegal activities. Should that be the case, Umbrella will have to go against the U.S itself. Even though the U.S. government is one of the secret customers of the B.O.Ws themselves, they will have no choice but to face the Umbrella Corporation from the pressure of the public when Umbrella gets exposed. If things got worse for Umbrella, they might even find themselves going against the rest of the world as well, which of course, will be something too much for Umbrella to handle.

Sensing this danger, the higher ups of the Umbrella Corporation decided to send in the Nemesis-T type. Although the Nemesis Tyrant is an expensive B.O.W product (budget), because S.T.A.R.S had even defeated the Tyrant T-002 before during the mansion incident it would be wise of them to send in a better tyrant this time instead, thus the Nemesis.

Other than that, Umbrella has sent 6 Tyrants to Raccoon City as well. They were supposed to be in the mid-air of Raccoon City for emergency, ready to be sent into the R.P.D at anytime if the Umbrella Special Forces Unit failed in their mission. But on September 29, all Tyrants were sent into action.

Report #1
The only reason I've taken on this mission is to get closer to my own objective. No matter what happens, I can't let anyone figure that out. Of course, hiding in the shadows isn't my style. I'll have to reveal myself to him and offer advice once in a while.
Here's what I know so far.
Osmund Saddler's cult is known as Los Illuminados. They've resurrected some sort of parasitic organism they call Las Plagas. That's all my organization knows
for sure, though Saddler's occult activities seem worthy of investigation.
The Salazar family, castellans for generations, possess the ability to control Last Plagas. The organization's hypothesis is that a unique frequency of sonic wave sensed only by the parasites is used to control them. The same principle used in dog whistles.
This was inferred through the analysis of a tissue sample we retrieved. The tissue contained an organ presumably used for sensing sound waves. I've seen cult members carrying ceremonial rods and I wonder if they emit these sounds. Of course, this is purely theoretical.
The organization needs samples of the parasite to confirm or disprove these theories. That is the main objective of my mission and the only way to prove my loyalty to the organization. The opening moves in this chess game have been played. There's no turning back now.

Report #2
Among all the people involved in this, Luis Sera has the least entanglements. He works for no organization, preferring to move on his own. I'm the one who told the organization of his importance. I did it because I like him. His history betrays an enthusiasm I once shared.
It was a stroke of luck that I happened to intercept his e-mail for help. It seems he can't trust the police, so he sent the e-mail to an old friend from college. He must have thought his friend was still alive. At any rate, that's how I managed to find him.
Apparently, he'd been conducting his own investigation of the cult while doing research on Las Plagas. A brilliant scientist. He's accumulated a pile of data and pieced it all together. Must be why Saddler hired him. Too bad Sera's snooping has aroused his suspicion.
When I told him who I was, he practically begged to be taken into custody. He needed protection. He said, "I have no love for Las Plagas or this stupid cult. I want out. I just want peace and quiet again." I ordered him to bring me a master Plaga specimen -- a sample -- for evidence.
Looks like he's one of the few people whom Saddler actually trusts. Tracking him down and getting my hands on the sample shouldn't be difficult. I doubt the cult will take kindly to his escape, though. I'll have to guide this along if I want it to go smoothly.

Report #3
Jack Krauser has been the subject of extensive study and research by the organization. His skills and personality have been tested both on and off the battlefield. If he weren't the best, he would become a liability that would jeopardize the rest of us.
My conclusion? He's a great soldier. No more. No less. As long as he's well compensated, he shouldn't cause any problems for us. If he does start to get restless, I can take care of him. I've studied his combat style and can deal with that arm of his if necessary.
Krauser answers directly to Wesker, and it was Wesker who decided that Krauser should be sent to spy on the cult. He also decided to send me along. I wonder if it wasn't to keep an eye on Krauser.
No doubt Krauser has already fallen to the temptation of Las Plagas and the power they represent. This could have dire consequences for the organization. On some level, however, this may be a necessary development, as his role is to disrupt this farce of a play.
That said, the stage and its players will ultimately come crashing down in the end. Bad luck for him, but he'll play the patsy in the end and take the fall for all of us. That's why I need to make sure things keep going exactly as they are.

Report #4
Leon S. Kennedy... Perhaps the most essential part of this mission. This story wouldn't be complete without him and his formidable survival skills. He has what it takes to survive against overwhelming odds. I've seen him do it before. And he's improved since then.
Practically a genius, he has the smarts and he knows how to use them. On top of that, his service as a government agent has toughened him up. I'll work behind the scenes to make him think he's the primary player here, thought it may be naive of me to think that'll be easy.
Considering the involvement of both Saddler and Krauser, the possibility of unforseen problems is there, but I need him in the supporting role for me to achieve my goals. I'll do whatever it takes to keep him in his place and make all this go smoothly.
Of course, his role didn't exist at all until a few months ago. Back then, my role was much simpler, too. But that was before the President's daughter was abducted and Leon was dispatched alone to find her. Talk about a major script revision.
I don't think I need to worry. Leon's been through worse and always comes up smelling like roses. His consistent luck is part of the reason why I have absolute and unshakable faith in my vision of what's in store for him.

Report #5
It wasn't easy, but I'd say the mission has been a success. Getting my hands on the sample was my initial objective after all. But I've sent Wesker a different present, just as the organization ordered. Pretending to work with him was entertaining.
Albert Wesker... I wonder where he's headed next. Something tells me this whole affair was just a taste of what he's got in store. To him, Umbrella represented power. He used it to hide behind while he made plans of his own. And now the umbrella's been folded.
With the sanctuary of their old umbrella ruined, those in power struggle to erect a new one. They are aware of their own crookedness and deceit as they engage in their personal war of light and darkness. That's why Wesker will stop at nothing in opening his new umbrella.
The giant pharmaceutical corporation S maintains medical and drug facilities the world over. We know for certain that Wesker has been in contact with them following Umbrella's demise. There's no doubt we'll next hear from him there.
The organization must remain vigilant.
But Wesker's not stupid. He knows exactly what the organization is thinking. He and I still have time to continue our little game of cat and mouse before the next move is played. This mission may be over, but the battle is just beginning.

Jill's Diary

August 7th
Two weeks have passed since that day. My wounds have been healed, but I just can't forget it. For most people, it's history now. But for me, whenever I close my eyes, it all comes back clearly. Zombies eating people's flesh and the screams of my teammates dying. No, the wounds in my heart are not healed yet...

August 13th
Chris has been causing a lot of trouble recently. What's with him? He seldom talks to the other police members and is constantly irritated. The other day, he punched Elran of the Boy's Crime department just for accidentally splashing Chris's face with coffee. I immediately stopped Chris, but when he saw me he just gave me a wink and walked away. I wonder what happened to him...

August 15th
Midnight. Chris, who has been on a leave of absence for a "vacation", called me so I visited his apartment. As soon as I walked into his room he showed me a couple of pieces of paper. They were part of a virus research report entitled as simple as "G". Then Chris told me that, "the nightmare still continues". He went on to say that "it's not over yet". Ever since that day he has been fighting all by himself without rest, without even telling me.

August 24th
Chris left the town today to go to Europe. Barry told me that he would send his family to Canada and then he would follow Chris. I decided to remain in Raccoon City for a while because I know that the research facility in this city will be very important to this entire case. In a month or so I will be joining them somewhere in Europe. That's when my real battle begins...

George Trevor's Diary

Nov. 24, 1967
Eleven days have past since arriving on this estate. How did I end up like this? A guy in a lab coat came with a plate of skimpy meal and said to me, "Sorry to put you through this, but it's for security reasons." That's when it hit me. It all makes sense now. There are only two people that know the secret of this mansion, Sir Spencer and myself. If they kill me, Sir Spencer will be the only person that knows the secret. But for what purpose? It doesn't matter now. It's too dangerous here. My family... I hope they are all right.

I've decided to escape... Jessica, Lisa, I pray you are safe.

Nov. 26, 1967
How could I be so careless? I lost my favorite lighter -- the one Jessica gave me for my birthday. Now it's going to be that much harder to get out this dark place.

Nov. 13th, the date when my fate was sealed. My aunt was hospitalized just three days before that. Jessica and Lisa said that they were going to visit her. I wish I could be there with them. But wait, even as I'm writing my memory is coming back to me more vividly. Just before I passed out, I remember the men in the lab coats said something like, "Most likely your family is already..." I pray for their safety.

Nov. 27, 1967
Somehow I managed to get out that room. But getting out of this mansion won't be as easy. I have to get past all the booby-traps. Tiger eyes, Gold Emblem... I have to try and remember for my own sake.

Nov. 29, 1967
I can't get out. I have tried every possible way to escape but only to be faced with the reality that I'm trapped. I've been everywhere. The laboratory with the large glass tubes filled with formaldehyde and those dark, wet and eerie caves... What can I do?

At first I didn't want to believe my eyes. But that familiar high- heeled shoe in the corridor... It was like reflex. One name came to my mind, Jessica! I don't want to believe they share the same fate as me. No! I can't give up hope. I have to hope they're alive.

Nov. 30, 1967
I haven't had anything to eat or drink for the past few days. I feel like I'm going crazy. Why is this happening to me? Why do I have to die like this? I was too obsessed with designing this ghastly mansion. I should have known better.

Nov. 31, 1967
It was a dark and damp underground tunnel. And another dead end. But even in the darkness something caught my eye. Carefully, I lit the last match, I had to see what it was. A grave! But deeply engraved into the stone was my name!

"George Trevor"

At that instant, it all became clear to me. Those bastards knew from the beginning that I'd die here and I fell right into their trap. But it's too late now. I'm losing it. Everything is becoming so far away. Jessica... Lisa... Forgive me. Because of my ego, I got both of you involved in this whole damn conspiracy. Forgive me. May god justify my death in exchange for your safety.

George Trevor

(There's something handwritten. It's not dated)

Nothing's changed. I never thought that this room I designed as an experiment would pay off like this. I can hide here safely for a while, because nobody knows about the secret behind this painting. Not even Sir Spencer.

Painting of a mansion... In the back of the art room.

Chris Redfield's Diary

August 8th

I talked to the chief today once again, but he refused to listen to me. I know for certain that Umbrella conducted T-virus research in that mansion. Anyone infected turns into a zombie. But the entire mansion went up in that explosion; along with any incriminating evidence.

Since Umbrella employs so many people in town, no one is willing to talk about the incident. It looks like I am running out of options.

August 17th

We've been receiving a lot of local reports about strange monsters appearing at random throughout the city. This must be the work of Umbrella.

August 24th

With the help of Jill and Barry, I finally obtained information vital to this case. Umbrella has begun research on the new G-virus, a variation of the original T-virus. Haven't they done enough damage already?!

We talked it over, and have decided to fly to the main Umbrella HQ in Europe. I won't tell my sister about this trip as doing so could put her life in danger.

Please forgive me Claire.

Chief Brian Irons' Diary

September 23rd
It's all over. Those imbeciles from Umbrella have finally done it... Despite all their promises, they've ruined my town. Soon the streets will be infested with zombies. I'm beginning to think that I may even be infected myself. I'll kill everyone in town if this turns out to be true!

September 24th
I was successful in spreading confusion among the police as planned. I've made sure that no one from the outside will come to help.

With the delays in police actions, no one will have the chance to escape my city alive. I've seen to it personally that all escape routes from inside the precinct have been cut off as well.

There are several survivors still attempting to escape through the lower levels, but I'll make sure no one gets out.

September 26th
I've had a change of heart about the remaining survivors inside the precinct. I've decided to hunt them down myself.

I shot Ed in the back through the heart less than an hour ago. I watched him writhe in pain upon the floor in a pool of his own blood. The expression on his face was positively exquisite. He died with his eyes wide open, staring up at me. It was beautiful.

I wonder if the mayor's daughter is still alive? I let her escape so I could enjoy hunting her down later...

I'm going to enjoy my new trophy. Yes, frozen forever in the pose I choose to give her.

Alfred Ashford's Diary

January 30th
There's a sealed room in the hallway located inside of the Antarctic facility. I don't know what is hidden there, but I do know how to get in. I can use the three jewels that each one of our three family members wear as proof of being a legitimate descendant of the Ashford family. The only problem is, I do not know how I can gain possession of my father's proof.

February 17th
I finally succeeded in entering that sealed room. I never could have imagined that such an insane secret existed regarding the birth of both Alexia and myself...

I hate my father. That fool, Alexander... Now it is obvious that we were merely created in an attempt to cover my father's blunder. I can never trust him again. I must regain the glory of the Ashford family with my sister. I have nothing to be afraid of, as long as Alexia is with me.

March 3rd
Alexia carried out the experiment on the human body that we've been talking about. Our useless father must be happy now, since he can finally contribute to the Ashford family. The only thing we should be careful about is that the butler, Harman, does not become wise to our activities.

April 22nd
The experiment resulted in failure. Our father was useless after all. Even worse, he turned into a dangerous monster that is competely out of control. We tied him down and locked him up in an underground prison cell. However, Alexia seems to be close to a solution. Beyond all my expectations, she now says that she wishes to conduct the experiment on her own body. On top of that, she feels she must be kept asleep for 15 years in order to accomplish the experiment. Thanks to that idiot, I can't see my dear Alexia for as long as 15 years. Alexia is going to sleep, with all of her trust relying upon me. Now, I am the only one who can protect Alexia.
