mcrfangirl13 Miss Ann Thrope_x Are pop music. Not alternative but pop. They're played on the mainstream radio stations, chavs like them, they're on saturday morning pop shows such as T4 popworld and the like. And now they've all been sung on American Idol. And my mum likes them. i personally dont think that makes them pop they can still be alternative even if pop channels play them. this one kid at my school makes fun of bands like them and afi because they "mainstream" and he likes indie and garage bands. WTF is up with that! AFI used to be "underground" but now that a lot of ppl like them that makes them "mainstream"? so now all thier old fans hate them and stuff i dont get that. i mean dont all bands start as a garage band that just decided to play together? its just plain stupid to me that ppl have to put labels on EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! besides pop channels play rock bands at times but rock channels DO NOT play pop. if MCR was pop then wouldn't T-Minus Rock on MTV not play them? p.s. i think im starting to sound a bit like Foamy ranting. Actually because they are in the mainstream they are pop. Pop - Popular Music Alternative - Non mainstream music. Ergo, they are no longer alternative, but pop.

And MyChem is in no-way pop. These bands have simply hit the mainstreem, is all, because all the wrong people started listening to their music. Just because they're put on pop shows and played on the radio doesn't make them Pop. Pop is a genre of music, not to be defined by those who choose to listen to it but by the type of music they play. No pop isn't a genre of music, pop means popular music. Why do you think in germany you find rammstein in the pop section of music stores. These bands are popular, and therefore are pop music. actually Rammstein isnt all that popular in germany. my best friend lives there and not that many ppl ther like em. their a lot more popular in the US. Actually, they used to be, when I was in school, this girl brought in what was number one at the time in the german pop charts, it just so happened to be the self titles rammstein album. Me and a few friends realising what it was kicked desks over and started slamming. Interesting post script to that story, no one would dare pick a fight with us for two months after that... wonder why...

Well I'm not emo, nor do I listen to emo, but music discussion should be kept within the bounds of emo, otherwise we might as well open our doors to any riff raff. lol, eople can't spell exactly. and um, they're really not that good of bands....most the kids listen to them because they either 1. think the songs about them eg. boulevard of broken dream, someone said that song discribes their life....i wanted to kill myself when i herd that. they're just songs you can say that they help you and such, but they're not about your life and such 2. your friends listen to it and you want to fit it, like most teenagers, they search for securtity in friends and the more they can relate to them like that the closer they can get. you can also like it for the music, but there isn't much talent in them
