thinking, it’s all she can do.

Getting up from the grass,

Well... Not really ironic but funny: once my friends and I went to BAGLY, a Bi/Gay/Lesbian dance. And one of my straight friends was dancing when all of a sudden this girl came up to her and kissed her on the lips [I think she said something about the girl trying to stick her tongue in her mouth].

Then the water calms down. The water recedes,
then darkness falls, and all goes dark.

You don't want to beg or act n00bish, but you don't want to bore them with life stories. Random stuff might offend some of them, if not make them laugh. So I'd just leave it alone.
