vince_uematsu_143 All religions are almost the same. We all have our Creators, Saviors, miracles, myths, and stories. Criticism isn't going to solve a problem, either. Although someone might call me commiting blasphemy for saying that. Hindus, Christians, Buudhists, etc. should really get along and join together. I am Catholic, therefore Christian, and I see that God is my Savior. Buddhists find Buudha as there Saviors, so do the Hindus. Every religion has the same base theme: good. From that, many things develop, from different mythological beliefs. The only thing that seperates people apart is creation. "God made you this.""Buudha created you like that." This is the reason we are separated, what we belive how they do things, but most people believe it's what they do. *Correction* Buddhists "DO NOT" see Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) as their saviour. Buddhism is a godless, therefore an athiest religion. Buddhism is rather about spiritualism and achieving nirvana.

egh, tis a confusing thing to discuss. personally, i think both religions do have there good points and bad points. christians have a bad history regarding witch craft and other religions, so wiccans dont like them. christians dont like wiccans because they believe they worsship the devil. now this isnt true for all cases, but sometimes this is what happens. i'm fine with both religions as long the people themselves dont act like they're better bacause of their religion.

Ecstaticlove29 Personally, I am a Christian. I would not say that Christians hate Wiccans, or at least that's not the way it's supposed to be. The way I see it, there is only one true God, and that is Jesus Christ. He died for the sins of man-kind to save us from eternal punishment after death (Hell). Hell is a place where there is pain and suffering in the eternal lake of fire. If we believe in Him (Jesus Christ), accept him as our savior, and dedicate our lives to Him, he will save us from eternal punishment and give us eternal peace in Heaven. Heaven is a wonderful, spiritual city. In Heaven there are no tears, no sin, no pain. You'll never be lonely, and it will never be night. Why? Because Jesus is the light. If you have any questions, just PM me. =] Thank you for that long boring, not adding anything to the conversation post. The title of this topic is not "describe your religion" or even "state your religion" i.e. we don't care what your religion is or how much you know about it.

Whatever path someone chooses to take is their choice to make, not mine. I respect other's religions. The only ones I don't respect are ones AGAINST people of different beleifs or races. Oh...and I'm christian.

You pin-pointed Christians. It's kind of hard to tell what sect strangers are from, how can you tell? (You say your relatives, and I guess you should know what sect they are from, but a stranger?)
Not many people I know who are into Wicca know that there are Christians who incorporate Jesus, Mary, and Joseph into the Wiccan beliefs. Like a spiritual merging.
And it's not the whole Wiccan/Pagan community, but some people I meet like to attack me because I am Christian [my friend's step father would harrass me and I would just sit there and deal with it.], so we are kinda' on the same page, just a different book.
I think the cold war of our religions are from old conflicting views back in history.

the truth of Christianity has been distorted by popular thought, especially in the last 50 years, and the ritual stereotypes carried out by most of those claiming to be Christian have disintegrated the strength behind the faith. too many lay claim to this title because their parents are Christians or because its all they've ever known and the original intention of the religion/the way "church" and the point of view from which the Bible should be read has been lost throughout the ages. most of those that lay claim to the Christian faith have no knowledge of their religions history and blindly walk through life giving no real effort of thought into the religion they have chosen. a person with a true understanding of Christianity is a rare thing today due to the vast stretch of humanities interpretations and denominations. these many untruths are too many to list here in the probably growing chance there are growing numbers of you that don't merely want to experience something new and listen to them.
personally, i am a Christian and believe that God is the creator/maintainer of life thus deserving our fellowship. any discrepancy humanity has created between the beginning of our time till now and how God really created us is up for debate... or we can just sit back and wait till the day when we are with Him and He'll tell us Himself. the fact that people are now taking on the thought process that they can mix and match parts of religions goes against the foundation/point of religion. if YOU decide what parts of this/that religion you like/dislike then you are creating religion therefore putting yourself in the position of a god taking away any of religion's solidity/validity/substance.
out of the religions of the world Christianity seems be more fulfilling if at first you are able to admit to yourself and to God you were wrong which in any area is what humanity hates doing the most. i believe the foundations of other religions such as Buddhism for example that delve into the structure of the universe can indeed be true and give us insight on the way God designed us. the main religious ideas of where do we come from and where are we going and how we got here and how we are getting there come from what humanity has discovered about it self by existing and are more similar than different when compared with the right question.
well in order to prevent further anger from you readers that don't seem to like to get down to the root of things and want short not really resolving the problem answers i'll start to wrap up.
long gone are the days when the possibility of this planet containing one religion are over and therefore we must resort to coexisting with/learning from one one another. i believe that Christianity is "right" and other religions are "wrong", however the thought put into those religions is from the perfectly normal human drive [and at the same time can be said as our sinful nature] to find answers and can be led to the "right" one with a little guidance and contemplation. i respect the preciousness of all human life, your life, no matter what you choose to do with it, but i do believe that their is a better way to live it.
if any of you would like to discuss religion more in this context or have me expand even more [cause religion is a vast complex thing] or add your own intelligent thought out thoughts i'd enjoy it so pm me if you like. and in the words of my friend Britknee and in order to restore any weird teenage normalcy you think i might have, "Peace and Cheddar!!!"

The last 'Wiccan' I knew was constantly being affected by Christian attacks, however I was never there to witness any; she was always afraid of what her friends and others would think of her so she was constantly 'switching in and out' of Wiccan beliefs - although we tried to talk her into sticking up for herself spiritually many times; despite most of her friends being Christians.
I don't think it has to be a contest between two religions or even hundreds of them. I think there is beauty in that everyone believes something different which they can incorporate easliy into their own lives; and people not being able to deal with this usually need to look over their religion's doctrines and re-evaluate their beliefs before they can even affiliate themselves with their religion.
Please don't forget it goes both ways; I have been attacked many times myself, seen other people harassed, etc. for Christian beliefs. I've even been harassed by other Christians from a different denomination, which is quite disgusting; and just proves that these people are hardly as religious as they say they are. For me, religion represents a love of life, seeing (a) God(s) in everything, and not being wholly concerned with winning a contest of who's religion is going to win when we all die. I can see fanatics (although not agree with) truly believing they are saving someones life if they convert them as swiftly as possible, but I have never actually run into someone who has a real reason for harassing someone other than interpreting their own religion wrong! Sometimes I think that these people are just bored of their role spiritually in their religion that they need something to do... bore (and annoy) the hell out of other people.
These people need to learn to lead by example... no one wants to convert to a religion when you yell at them. If I saw a truly happy, fulfilled, loving, kind, etc. person, I would definitely want to know how they got there.

Well, essentially what Christians do not realize is it is a Pagan based religion. If you are interested in reading books I'd advise the DaVinci Code for a more well defined reasoning than what I have. The only reason why I can truly say this is because I was raised Christian then out of anger and rage, etc. I became Pagan. If you would like to discuss with me why I did so, or whatever reason, you may pm me with the title "Why Pagan".

Personally I like all of God's children. I just sometimes disagree with the choices that they choose. I am a Latter-day Saint, and I have respect for all religions and would do nothing to affend someone elses. I would expect the same in return.

The DaVinci Code, while a convincing to alternative views of Christianity, is NOT a source of factual information... in the least. Dan Brown makes blanket assumptions and presumptions, and claims that he doesn't back up with fact. If you are interested in the kind of Christianity that Dan Brown presents, look up Gnosticism.. but please do not use The DaVinci Code as a primary source of information.

Gypsy666 I would like to know others thoughts on the way that some ppl act towards wicca, mostly christians. I think ThatI get the most criticism from the Christian comunity(even my own relatives seem to hate me), But I want to be able to get you to see where I'm comming from. If your not open to listen please dont post. I'm a slightly liberal Catholic, well I believe all they say, but I don't categorize people. My priest says "If you ever meet a Satanist don't hang around them, evil spirits are engouged in their soul and it could have an affect on you" Before he said that I met a Satanist at a play practice and he was actually a pretty normal guy cept for what he wore (and he got a little creepy in points of the convo). I think religion doesn't matter on the personallity of a person, and that is what people are judged off of. I consider judging people off of religion a form of racism. If I met a really cool person who was nice and all and was Wicca, I wouldn't shun them from my life. What they believe is what they believe, and that shouldn't have an affect on one's views. So really, if I meet anyone that's Wicca but is a nice person and all, I'm not afraid to become friends.
