"There's no Resistance anymore and no one to compartmentalize information so it is not a secret. Do you remember that far I told you about? The council has tasked me with running it. I have to head out there after the funeral and then my involvement with them will be reduced to mostly video conferences." Will explained quickly before trying to return the focus to her arm. "It looks fine as it is, no need to paint it."

Amelia Cross “Oddly, I don’t have a hard time picturing you on a farm. It’ll make going on our date a little difficult though, unless you expect me to take a tablet out on a date. Or were you about to ask me to come with you?” Amelia answered with a smile and a laugh ignoring his attempts to change the subject. If people didn’t already think she was weird and anti-social that would certainly be the way to get them to do so. Of course she was a little upset over the idea of him leaving to go live in the country side and felt a bit like he was abandoning her, but it wasn’t like she owned him or anything. They weren’t dating and she still hadn’t managed to riddle out why he had been so kind to her in the first place. Where would she be now if he hadn’t have brought her back to the resistance after Adrian had told her to leave? “You only say that because you haven’t seen the rest of it. Besides we have a little time to kill.”

"That would be moving a little fast." Will responded to her comments about the date. "Then again I will need someone who has experience with the machines out there. someone to makes sure that the plants are watered and taken care of by the machines while I manage the workforce." there was a complicated sprinkler system that had been set up by Sybil to keep the plants growing and thriving. It had been designed for the maximum food output. If they got it up and running again they wouldn't have any real work to do until harvest. It made the idea of farm life seem more like retirement. "I'm not an artist."

Amelia Cross "Oh, l see how it is. You're only keeping me around for my talents. Here I thought it was my charming personality." Amelia gave him a grin before taking a slightly more serious tone. "But I thought the farming was going to be human powered instead of machine powered?" Or that was what she had taken away from his description of it anyway. Going back to working on farm equipment wasn't an idea that immediately thrilled her, but she didn't exactly have any future plans at the moment and her options were kind of limited in a Sybil free year. "Well in that case, what would you like to do until the funeral?" She figured there were better things they could be doing than standing awkwardly in the entrance way of her house.

"That's the benefit of keeping you around, I get both." Will replied sarcastically before moving on to explain the farming. "It will be human powered technically. Humans will harvest and plant but even before Sybil there were machines used to water tracks of land as large as the farm. Did you really think I was going to spend my days walking miles of field and hand watering all the plants?" When it came to the question of what they should do now Will had no suggestions. He was still adapting to life outside of Sybil. Life when you didn't need to train or make weapons or even just sit thinking about how to outsmart the machines. So he just shrugged in response.

Amelia Cross “Has a man ever been so blessed?” She asked will with a grin “I suppose I had assumed you would use an irrigation system manually controlled and have people do the soil testing rather than machines.” Amelia commented nonchalantly. What was the right amount of machines? They were certainly more efficient and in many cases made everyone’s lives easier, but if they weren’t careful they would end up right where they had started and everything the Resistance had fought for would be lost. It was a question for their council to decide in the end, though she imagined everyone had their own opinions on the subject. “I suppose we are both still learning to live in a Sybil free world. Well we could go see if there is anything left of my old secret lab.” She offered as a suggestion.

The issue of the right amount of machines would be easier to decide when Will actually took over the farm. At the moment he was told he only needed to worry about harvesting the food, planting the seeds, watching them for the first month, and getting the food back to the people. "Why did you have a secret lab? Sybil doesn't seem the type to let you have a secret lab." To be fair, they had also build and hid stuff under Sybil's eye but they had hundred of resources at the time. Still, he certainly preferred to do something with Amelia over standing awkwardly in the doorway."Don't misunderstand though, I'd love to see your lab."

Amelia Cross Amelia gave a sort of shrug at Will’s questions. “The Resistance set it up for me. Made sure Sybil couldn’t find it as long as I didn’t lead it there. As for getting there, well I had an easier time than most sneaking about I think. Not that Sybil trusted me, but I knew how most of its systems worked.” Even wondering into the sub-levels she had a pretty good idea she was going to be caught, but protests had been ignored and orders reiterated. Maybe that was why the old Director was so adamant about her rescue. Adrian had seemed to find the information she brought back of little worth. It all didn’t matter now she tried to remind herself. What was done was done. So she forced a smile and gestured for Will to lead the way out the door while slipping on a pair of black high heeled shoes to go with the rest of her attire. “You already did once, when you came to babysit me while the rest were fighting.” She explained. Whether or not Sybil had been too preoccupied to strip it at the time was another question.

"Well maybe the second visit will be for fun." Will joked as he lead out the door and to his truck. He went around toe passenger side first and opened her door. He was doing everything he could not to think about the funeral. He remembered very little about her little hideout. To be fair, his thoughts had been a little occupied the last time he had been there. This time, the lab would be what was occupying his thoughts. That wasn't true, his next assignment would probably be his primary source of contemplation.

Amelia Cross “I certainly hope there is less gun fire away.” Amelia admitted as she followed him out to the truck, pausing only long enough to close and lock the door behind her. Will opening the truck door for her caught her a little off guard, mostly because he had never done so in the past, so she hesitated a little before getting in. “Thank you Will.” She said as she did so, after all it was not unappreciated just unexpected. She waited until he got in himself before asking. “Do you remember where it is?”

"Less gunfire is always nice." Will mumbled after shutting Amelia's car door. There had been a lot of gunfire recently, he could live happily lever hearing it again. With that out of his mind, Will moved around the front of the car to his side and got in. "You're gonna have to direct me a little." He admit as he turned on the engine.

Amelia Cross “How did you find it in the first place?” She asked him in a teasing manner. Things had been different the first time around, with an all-out war about to begin. They had to play their rolls in order to fool Sybil. One wrong word or some tip off that they wanted it download the virus and everything would have been lost. Amelia opened her mouth to ask if Will knew about the ploy before Adrian sent him after her or not, but thought better of it. He hadn’t been exactly thrilled the last time she brought the dead leader up and doubted he would this time around. Instead she directed him towards the neighbourhood before asking. “How are the people taking their new Sybil free existence?”

"Adrian had a map." Will responded dryly. It was true, Adrian had a map with all the resistance safe houses marked. It was something he always kept with him and one of the items he had ensured they took with them when the Hangar was compromised. The map had been lost during the final battle though. "The poor are happy, the rich are upset that their comfort has been taken. In time they will cope with it but that is a political struggle I will not have to be a part of. "

Amelia Cross "I suppose having the lights back on will help settle the rich. We could work on getting the domestic bots online as well. Still they can choose now. What ever job they want, not just the one Sybil assigned them. Or even something as simple as what to eat." Always the one to look for a solution to a problem, she was technically one of those rich people Will spoke of. Though admittedly it sounded like he really wasn't interested in the situation as a whole. "So....... what do you plan to do with your free time out on this farm of yours?" She asked, struggling to find something to discuss without the battle to worry about and Will's apparent apathy about anything that happened now.

"I'd keep the domestic bots offline as long as possible." Will remarked. It was better to keep the machines that could be weaponized from going online. He had seen domestic bots attacking in the chaos, he didn't like them. "I don't know. Most of the time will be spent radioing into the Counsel to update them until the farm is producing a steady supply of food but I haven't thought much about what to do after that." They had to be getting close to her lab by now.
