As shameful as it felt, Seto was slightly panicked. He was ill, still exhausted from running around like an idiot earlier, and now he was basically trapped in the most vulnerable position he could imagine. By one of his least favorite people in the entire world. Jounouchi's face hoovered within inches of his own, the other man's breast ghosting across his own face, murmuring something about running off again. Seto couldn't really focus, he was too busy trying to get his currently mush-like brain to devise an escape plan. He felt Jounouchi's hands squeeze his shoulders, and he was about to just give up and scream when the blond finally managed to put the pieces together and leap backward with his own horrified yelp.

Seto heard Jounouchi plop on the floor, yet he remained rigid on his back a few moments longer. He couldn't piece together why he'd panicked so much, or why he hadn't just shoved Jounouchi away. Trying to recover as much of his composure as possible, and still choosing to ignore the entire situation, he sat up and glanced down at the floor. He wanted to admonish, he wanted to insult, but clearly some malevolent force decided that moment would be a great time to possess the disheveled CEO because what he said was, "pretty sure you don't need to use your thighs to keep me down next time."

What...the...hell?

((Ok yea that post was just bizarre, sorry I blame the...I don't even know what I blame. The Pepsi! And the crisps and ice cream! I haven't had a proper meal in awhile, I blame that! Also I gave up drinking, so that's probably to blame as well!

~_~))

If at all possible, Jounouchi's face only reddened more, "Wh-wh-what the hell is that supposed to mean?! I mean, my thighs?! Yeah, because you ******** pulled me onto your lap, homo!" he immediately regretted the words as they left his mouth. Not so much because of the term homo being used as an insult, but because it forced the implications out that both of them had been trying to avoid; that they had been in quite a sexual position.

He bit his lip now, quieting up, just contenting himself to stare at Kaiba in anger, his breathing coming out quick and in soft, harsh breaths, almost as if he were huffing in annoyance over and over again. Jounouchi did not move from his place on the floor.

((AHAHA, why should you blame anyone? That was gold. I mean, I'm all for keeping everyone in character, but considering this RP is Puppyshipping, it's kind of impossible to keep it absolutely and completely in character to begin with, so a little bit of forgiveness can be given for Kaiba being a tad crazy. XD Not to mention he has the excuse of being just as out of it right now as you are. Lawl, good comeback on Kaiba's part though, regardless of how unintended.))

Seto raised an eyebrow at the derogatory remark, not so much offended as he was surprised to hear Jounouchi stoop to something of the sort. Not one to let an obvious insult stand, he answered "I am, as you yourself are only too happy to continue pointing out, ill. I was just trying to pull you away from the phone, and I suppose I didn't have the energy to not pull you back with me. You're the one getting all cozy on top of me after. Who unthinkingly straddles and pins someone to the bed? After which you hurl deprecatory remarks my way? Homophobic much huh? Well, you know what they say about gay-bashers, clearly you've been hiding much more than I ever imagined."

Seto realized the tirade sounded more contemplative than obviously insulting (a sincerity that would probably make the speech actually harder to swallow), but hopefully the effect would be the same. He'd rather have Jounouchi up and yelling, than blushing and huffing on the floor. There was something quite disconcerting about the man just sitting a few feet away, unnaturally quiet except for audible gasped breaths.

((Yea, that's kinda the line that I'm trying to walk right now. I want Seto in character but I also want more things to happen, faster. Patient I am not!))

For just a second there, as Kaiba began his sentence, "I am," Jounouchi thought he would end it at that. He honestly thought Kaiba had been about to tell him he was gay. Those thoughts quickly flew out of his head though as Kaiba continued on. He opened his mouth to argue against the straddling, wanting to say that it was instinct after getting in fights in the past; pinning someone anyway you could was a huge advantage, especially if that person had a knife or something. But he froze there, his mouth gaping, when Kaiba implied the last part of his tirade.

Rather than the reaction Kaiba had expected, getting up and yelling, Jounouchi had gone even more silent now, his breathing even stopped for a few moments. His face went pale, contemplation going through his head. Was that... true? He had never thought of that... he didn't really have anything against gay guys, yet he found himself bashing them out loud, as if he were trying to prove something. But... no, no, that was ridiculous! Jounouchi liked girls, so why was he even considering this?! Did it make him gay that he had to stop to make sure he wasn't? Holy s**t! As all these thoughts went through his head, Jounouchi's expressions changed accordingly, making his face an open book.

((I feel the same way. XD Naturally I play characters to be careful and take a long time, but it works because Karma always has such pushy characters. But Kaiba's more the careful type too (even though Jounouchi's not, but it still would seem out of character for him to fall for someone and declare it right away; he's too awkward), so it's like... hmm... how to move this along. Hmmm... maybe this can lead up to Jounouchi having an 'I'm gay (or bi?)" revelation. Hurhur, I love those.))

Seto had anticipated screaming and accusations. He even slightly expected the hothead before him to get back into his face, completely forgetting why they were in this situation in the first place. What he did not expect was Jounouchi to go deathly pale and almost stop breathing all together. Seto started to speak and then paused, had he actually been right? He hadn't actually meant to be right, just to be insulting, because he was furious.

What was he going to do if he was right though? He didn't honestly care, while in regards to himself he'd never really put much thought into romance or sexuality period, he couldn't care less what other people felt and did. That had no notable effect on his business sensibility. However Jounouchi clearly did care, and even if he'd just been tricked by fancy rhetoric into doubting his own sexuality, he clearly was more than willing to have a breakdown about it. Seto was thus torn between not wanting to deal with a breakdown, and not wanting to be considerate or helpful to anybody whose name was not Mokuba.

Trying to walk both lines, and thus failing miserably from all angles, he snapped, "oh calm the ******** down already, nobody cares if you're a fairy. I mean you'd have to be to keep a straight face through all those stupid friendship speeches your lot are always on about. Stop standing around all shocked and pathetic, liking men doesn't give you an excuse to act like such a silly girl."

Seto wasn't entirely sure how that "speech" was going to go over, in part he was pretty sleepy and hadn't really kept track of what he was saying.

((Originally he was going to say something much more a*****e-y and a lot more in character. However a shipping happening is going to get way to out of character if I keep pushing so I compromised. With lame. xd ))

Jounouchi was completely at a loss for words now, desperately wanting to retort, to yell at Kaiba about how he was wrong about everything, but he just... couldn't seem to figure out how to form those words at all. He opened and closed his mouth, occasionally managing to let an utterance of the very start of a syllable out, then getting lost again after that.

After both of them seemed to be getting impatient with Jounouchi's stupid gaping, he finally managed to pull himself up off the floor. No, he had not found his voice yet, but he at least finally realized that Kaiba was being an absolute a*****e, and he was completely pissed at him for it. And so, Jounouchi settled for suddenly pulling his fist back, then thrusting it forward directly at Kaiba's face. Sucker punch.

((Haha, awww, yay corniness. What did you originally intend for Kaiba to say?))

Seto had wanted anger over a pansy feeling-filled moment. However he hadn't exactly wanted to be hit, again. Nor was he going to put up with it, even if he did deserve it. Half the crap they'd been through over the past couple of days had been entirely Jounouchi's fault. Grabbing the wrist inches from his face, he hauled Jounouchi onto the bed before the punch landed. In spite of his myriad of injuries, and the absurd number of hits he'd taken today, Seto was more than capable of defending himself. Something Jounouchi clearly hadn't taken into account at the moment, because the disarm was exceptionally easy.

Jounouchi plopped backward onto the cushions, shock now the overriding emotion across his face. "See, you are totally not qualified to watch me while I recover, who punches someone just released from the hospital? Without even one of your lame one-lined threats to preface the unwarranted attack at that!" Seto lectured.

He sighed, and then continued, "look, I wasn't actually trying to be an a*****e. I just didn't want to deal with your emotional breakdown, and making you angry seemed a great way to deal with that. I was however aiming for yelling to dispel the awkwardness, not punches. Punches are generally more awkward."

Seto finished the spiel and laid down himself, though careful to observe a few inches of buffer between himself and the man lying next to him. He really really did not want to deal with any of this, but in this one instance he realized cold, distanced fighting was not going to be the solution to his problem. Hopefully Jounouchi could pull himself together and move on. Though if he decided to throw another blind punch, Seto was definitely going to have the brat arrested.

((I was going to type it up too, but then I had to run to my friends for dinner and wasn't sure I'd have time to get back to this before going to another friend's bday thing last night so I just hit submit. Now I can't really remember. But it was much more just cruel Kaiba insulting, and a whole lot less tolerant.))
PostPosted: Sat May 07, 2011 12:58 am

Jounouchi cursed to himself as he hit the bed, definitely not having expected Kaiba to be in any condition to stop his assault. Great, now he felt like even more of a pansy. But his anger quickly subsided, replaced by surprise and curiosity at... Kaiba's earnestness. He had just admitted that he hadn't been trying to be an a*****e for once?

And Jounouchi had to somewhat agree with him; he wanted to avoid any sort of emotional breakdown as well, probably a million times more than Kaiba did. s**t, now he was feeling like the bad guy again. This was ridiculous; Kaiba wasn't supposed to be reasonable. But the last thing he wanted to do was continue on this subject, especially when Jounouchi himself was still fresh in the shock of questioning his sexuality for the first time. He wanted to run away from those thoughts and not worry about them; it wasn't like he had a dating life anyway, so it didn't matter if he figured anything out or not.

With this in mind, Jounouchi decided to settle for changing the subject, and he had to admit he messed up here anyway. So he slowly sat up on the bed, looking over at the form now laying beside him, somewhat guiltily, "...you're right." Upon seeing the look Kaiba gave him, he quickly elaborated on what the other was right about, "I mean, you're right, I shouldn't have tried to hit you when you're hurt. That was stupid, and I won't do something like that again. So I'm sorry about that." he was surprised at how calm his voice and mind were right now. He spoke with a simple acceptance of his mistake, realizing that being angry at himself (or at Kaiba for being right) wasn't worth it. It was almost as if the shock had forced Jounouchi's emotions into hiding for the time being, so he wouldn't have a breakdown.

((Ah, I see. XD))

Seto hardly moved while Jounouchi looked down at him, "explaining" his actions away without actually acknowledging the motivations behind them. Not that he minded in the least. This was probably the easiest way out of dealing with issues that Seto had absolutely no interest in at the moment. Although he couldn't help but delve into his own contemplations in the brief period Jounouchi lost himself in thought. Seto never attributed much thought to sexuality. He'd never had time for dating, and thus wasn't going to waste time thinking about dating, or who to date. Who to sleep with. When his own body decided to distract him away from productivity he had always taken care of the problem without a great deal of conscious thought.

So given the awkward situation, and the copious amount of free time he had at the moment, Seto couldn't help but ponder over his own inclinations. Weirdly enough, the best way to do that was by studying the one person right in the room with him, even if he on principle rather detested the guy. Aesthetically though he had undeniable merits. Both build and coloring would be considered more than above average in relation to standard types. Before he could come to any sort of concrete conclusion on the matter, Seto decided it would probably be best to not venture down the path. God forbid he actually ended up proving even a chemical attraction to the flea-bitten idiot. Snatching a book off the nightstand he turned his attention away from Jounouchi.

((Urgh...I'm going to have to stay away from Host Club fanfic for awhile. My Seto is morphing into a Kyouya, close but no cigar stressed ))

Jounouchi's apology received no oral response from Kaiba, and that was pretty much what he had been expecting. Nothing from Kaiba was pretty much the best you could get; it meant he wasn't going to throw you back down after you got enough courage to up and apologize. So he contented himself with going into thought, not about sexuality or Kaiba or anything annoying like that. Just about... things in general, simple things.

However, Jounouchi's thoughts were quickly interrupted when he noticed Kaiba staring at him. He didn't look back at the other or question it, but he could feel the eyes on him. What the hell was this about? If Jounouchi weren't in such a calm state of mind right now, he would be snapping to the other and demanding what the hell was on his face to cause him to stare that long. And yet he just remained still, his face maintaining the same look it had been in while he was in thought. He could feel his heart rate picking up ever-so-slightly, but it wasn't so much rage or anything like that... was it excitement? Just a slight amount? That... why would he be excited for any reason whatsoever right now?

He suddenly felt immense relief when he felt Kaiba's eyes leave him, and felt the other turn and grab something. Jounouchi heard the pages of a book opening. A distraction for Kaiba. Good. He felt like he could sort of use a distraction himself, actually.

((Pwahahaha, I thought that way Kaiba was thinking seemed inspired from somewhere. XD I so see Kyouya in that now. It's cute though.))

Seto was exhausted when the sun woke him up around 8am the next morning. Usually he was up by 6, but as much of a workaholic as he was, he generally got at least 3-4 hours of sleep a night, or 5-7 if he'd pulled an all-nighter in the previous day. However he had only stashed his laptop and gone to bed around 6:30, even though he'd conked out immediately that still gave him less than 2 hours of shuteye.

Mokuba had been the one to come home late for once, getting in around 8pm for dinner. A dinner in which he and Jounouchi chattered like idiots while Seto read a magazine. An entertainment magazine, because apparently he wasn't even allowed to read about business while recovering. Surprisingly neither Jounouchi nor himself mentioned the race or the attempted punch to the younger Kaiba. Seto had decided freeing himself of Jounouchi wasn't worth upsetting his brother. So he dealt with an afternoon of watching Jounouchi stare off into space (perhaps he was daydreaming, though that still seemed an equally stupid way of passing the time) while he read. He'd sat through a dinner featuring a two-sided conversation for once, even if he still was not part of it. And then at 10pm when he was finally left alone to go to bed, he was able to get some work done. Mokuba hauled Jounouchi off to the game room, this time to actually use the equipment, and Seto busied himself with his latest design. At 1am a glance at the security cam revealed the duo to have exited the game room, and he hid the computer and "went to sleep" just in case. A good move as moments later both his brother and Jounouchi were peering in at him. Seto actually almost fell asleep, but managed to will himself back to work as soon as he was certain his meddlesome caretakers had gone on to bed.

Now Seto peered up at the intrusion that had pulled him from his brief slumber. A golden haloed figure, but most certainly not the sun. Just a blond loud mouth bringing him breakfast, and alerting him that Mokuba had gone into the office already and would probably not return until dinner again. Great, Seto thought as Jounouchi set the tray down next to him, my illness is making a monster of my brother.

Seto glanced up as Jounouchi snapped his fingers, realizing that he hadn't heard a word the other man said after announcing Mokuba had gone out. He tried to focus harder as Jounouchi asked if he felt alright. Seto realized he was probably a bit too too pale and lethargic for someone who had supposedly gotten around 10 hours of sleep.

"Fine," he muttered, jamming toast into his mouth to give him a few more moments before he had to reply further. He couldn't help but groan inwardly noticing the lack of coffee with this meal. Apparently coffee wasn't a part of recovering either.

((Yea I went on a KyouyaxKaoru kick for awhile, however even though I haven't checked for that in about a year or two it only took me a few days to get through the stories that were to my interests. However I then moved onto TamakixKaoru, than HikaruxKaoru, and slowly my interest fizzled. I like twincest in that series but most of the fanfic is just awful. And most of it it's the writing that is just AWFUL. It's really annoying, the people with the best concepts are the worst writers/worst at portraying character. The best writers tend to go for ooc mush. Like I can't win!

Anyhow that's kinda ended my kick interest for now so hopefully Seto can turn back into Seto. It's just Seto and Kyouya do have some similarities, exempting Seto is really hard to do a monologue for. Just because I doubt he'd really do one. Seto wouldn't see the "merit" in it the way Kyouya would. Things he doesn't care about or he refuses to accept concern him cannot possibly effect his life, even if 9/10 times they TOTALLY do. Kyouya has a better understanding about how you are not always in control, and thus it is worthwhile to understand things before deciding how beneficial they are.

And oh yea, I time jumped, which I'm sure you've noticed. I just realize this ENTIRE roleplay has taken part in less than 2 days, I think it's about time for a new morning. xd ))
PostPosted: Mon May 09, 2011 9:24 pm

Jounouchi had seemed in a good mood today when he came into the room. Almost in too good of a mood, really. It seemed a bit forced, like he was trying to make up for what had happened yesterday. But then again, who in their right mind would think acting like they were in a good mood would be an effective way to make anything up to Kaiba Seto? Apparently Jounouchi Katsuya.

But as soon as he noticed how out of it the other seemed, Jounouchi's good mood dissolved into more of a quiet air of mild concern and annoyance. He knew the look Kaiba had, and the way he was acting... it wasn't from sickness or general not feeling well; it was a complete and utter lack of sleep. "Were you up reading all night or something?" he finally asked, though the annoyance that had been in his mood was not evident in his voice. He seemed more curious than anything, calmly sitting down next to the bed and stretching.

"Kinda surprising you know. I always took you for the morning person type, but you seem like you hardly slept at all. But then again you're already up now, so maybe you're just allergic to sleep or something." he mused more to himself than to Kaiba. It was fun thinking of the other as some supernatural being that did not share normal human characteristics like the need to sleep. He didn't recall ever seeing Kaiba sleep in the past, after all.

So Jounouchi just calmly sat like that, not really caring if Kaiba responded or not. After yesterday, as he was laying in bed to fall asleep last night, he had vowed not to let his emotions work him so much up here anymore; he wouldn't let Kaiba get to him and would instead just do and enjoy his job. He had convinced himself that the CEO was nothing more than a grumpy charge, someone who he should take care of, but was also amusing in how strange and assholish he was. If Jounouchi could keep himself convinced of this, that Kaiba was more of a show of a grumpy person than someone who's insults should be taken personally, he would avoid anything akin to an emotional breakdown, and that was good, even if it meant being nice to Kaiba.

((Kyouya/Kaoru? XD What an odd pairing. Then again, so is Tamaki/Kaoru. Funny that the most normal of those is the twincest.

But yeah, welcome to my world when it comes to Puppyshipping. Worst. Writers. Ever. I can't tell you how many times I've read Jounouchi as a cute, innocent little uke (which I still think he is, but more cute as in scruffy, innocent as in stupid, and uke as in too awkward to dominate others, not the little girl he's portrayed as) and Kaiba as a romantic person obsessed with helping poor wittle Joey get away from his evil father and gang rapists. Oh, and then there's the dime a dozen, "Jou can't figure out what to get Kaiba for his birthday because he's poor. What's a puppy to do?!" Just... ugh... I just hate when you need your fix on a certain pairing, but are forced to deal with crap to get it. I kind of miss the days when I was younger and less critical, and could just enjoy crappy fanfiction as they were.

Yes, I noticed. XD Good point. My roleplays tend to do that; take a long time for a couple days. Wonder if I cause it without realizing it. But then again, the Yuugiou series was quite similar; Duelist Kingdom was only a couple days, same with Battle City. But I agree it was about time for a new day.))

Seto was about to curse the mutt being more perceptive than he would have given him credit for, before he went off on a ramble about morning people and allergies. It was like watching a light bulb click on, only to immediately be smashed by a nuclear bomb. How can a person really have an almost epiphany level realization one moment and then ignore it the next?

No matter, the distraction meant that for now Seto would at least be able to work nights. Eventually lack of sleep should leave him drained enough to sleep during the day even with Jounouchi watching, not that he was particularly comfortable with that arrangement. Yet he'd do what he had to in order to keep in touch with his company. Granted it was frustrating to not berate the other man for (a) being an idiot, (b) being the reason he'd woken up after minimal sleep, (c) being an idiot and (d) being so absurd as to suppose leisure reading is what Seto would possibly do with his nights. He hardly had time for it under normal circumstances, why would he use any alone time he had to do something as silly as a recreational activity? Then, for good measure, he'd probably berate Jounouchi for being an idiot some more. However he couldn't really do any of that without admitting he'd been working all night, so he said nothing. Until he saw the second figure in his doorway anyhow, then he said a lot, generally along the lines of "what are you doing here? Get out of my house!"

- - -

Hiroto couldn't believe he was up and wandering the streets at 7am. Yet in spite of his dismal amount of sleep the previous night, he just couldn't stay in bed any longer, he was too restless. How he ended up at the Kaiba mansion he wasn't sure, he couldn't really say he'd ever been certain where it was. Yet he was here, and he figured he might as well go check on his friend, make sure he wasn't being tortured or anything. He didn't expect either Jounouchi or Kaiba to be awake, and had been content to just sit in a lobby or something until a more decent hour. Yet upon admittance he was informed that Jounouchi at least was awake, and was happily directed to "master" Kaiba's room. Upon peering into the room he even found the arrogant billionaire up, though he looked like hell. At least he wouldn't have to try to whisper then, although it might have been nice to have a conversation without him.

He just grinned as Kaiba verbally assaulted him, gave a small wave to Jounouchi before replying, "just came to visit my friend moneybags, promise I won't stay in your hair for long." Having walked up to Kaiba's bed during this announcement, he decide to ruffle the blue-eyed man's hair for good measure, thoroughly enjoying the look of loathing and irritation he got in response. "How goes the recovery?" Hiroto asked, directing his attention toward Jounouchi specifically at this point.

((Kyouya/Karou is probably my favorite pairing, they're my two favorite characters and any pairing I'd read would have one of them in it. I like twincest, and I like Tamaki well enough that if I can find a decent enough story I'll entertain him with Karou, and I like him with Kyouya but a lot of the stories tend to do the horrible things puppyshipping does (i.e. be over dramatic and out of character), not quite as bad but still.

But yea I think puppyshipping is probably the absolute worst to have to deal with, out of any pairing I like anyhow. Primarily just because of the fact that people do make it the most absolutely out of character thing. I know it's an unlikely canon pairing, but it's not THAT absurd that they'd have to have their personalities completely switched by aliens in order for it to work. ~_~

Hahaha, yea, and forever on one day is totally fine by me. But I think it's starting to get a little improbable the amount of action packed into one day. A 10 episode elaboration one card game is a little more probable than supernatural disaster, street brawl, multiple hospital adventures, a move to a new house, etc etc, all in one day. Haha. We could rename the rp The Most Epic Day. sweatdrop ))

As Kaiba was questioning the entrance of their new guest, Jounouchi was grinning ear-to-ear, "Honda!!" he stood to greet the man. He let the other come over, doing everything in his power not to burst out laughing when he saw his friend summon up the balls to up and ruffle Kaiba's hair.

When he heard Honda's question directed at him, he sighed in an over-dramatic way, "Not so hot, in all honesty. Not because Kaiba's all hurt and suffering from something incurable, but the idiot (he emphasized this part so that Kaiba would notice what he was being called) decided to leave his room and run around the house like a little kid, and then he stayed up all night reading! I mean, seriously, how the hell is that a good idea for anyone injured?"

((Kyouya/Kaoru I've never really considered, but I can kind of see it since they ended up as sort of the odd ones out when it came to any form of relationship. I like twincest too. At first I thought it was just because I liked twincest in general, but as I learned more about how Kaoru supports Hikaru and how much they need each other, it developed into a couple that I legitimately liked on its own. Tamaki I honestly do not like at all; he's my least favorite character, but I generally ship him with Kyouya just because I have no preferences with Kyouya, and he's not one of my favorites either. My favorite couple is Honey/Mori, though I also love Hikaru/Haruhi. I think besides the love for the twincest that developed, I didn't really have any other OTPs.

I agree, I struggle so much with Puppyshipping. I think the problem is that most people are not good enough writers to do a romance with characters that aren't very compatible, so they're forced to change them into the stereotypical hero/damsel compatibility. Plus the shipping has such an old community, it has by now developed its own 'canons' that are present in just about every Puppyshipping fanfiction, as if they're true to the series, just because they're so overused in fanwork. These include Jounouchi having gold/honey eyes instead of dark brown (if you look at him in the anime, and almost all the colored work from the manga, he has the most Japanese-looking eyes of any of the characters, even Bakura), Kaiba calling Jounouchi puppy, Jounouchi having a violently abusive father (yes, this has basis in the manga, and I do actually believe it is true, but own instance of throwing a beer bottle is not enough to form a solid canon that 'Tetsuo' beats his son), Mokuba is hyperactive and annoying, Jounouchi is a blushing virgin, etc. etc. It just gets so. Friggin. Old.

Dude, we should so do that. Best RP ever. XD Hellzzz yeah.))

"I was not up all night reading," Seto snapped agitatedly, in part furious that the stupid non-duelist had dared to lay a hand on him. "I hardly leisure read as it is, if I was going to stay up all night I'd damn well find a productive use of my time."

He cringed slightly, realizing he'd pretty much just admitted he'd been working. Not that it mattered, Jounouchi couldn't prove it, he could deny it. All it might do is create another irritating row. Hopefully the thick-headed irritant would just brush the comment off as hot air, and hopefully his slightly more astute friend would choose not to ponder into the matter too deeply himself.

((Yea, they definitely get more odd ones out when the manga shifts into a more intensive Tamaki/Haruhi/Hikaru triangle, part of why I can't ever like HikaruxHaruhi it divides the twins. I haven't gotten back to the manga, and while they did get better by the point in which I stopped, there was still a huge rift created change and dynamic. That was kinda crushing. Part of why I like the anime better, it just remains lighthearted, which is what I wanted out of the series. I want to read the manga again irregardless, but it's been so long I can't remember where I left off, so I'm going to have to wait until I find time to dig. I like Mori but he doesn't interest me as a sexual character, and I don't really like Hunny. I like twincest in theory, but in practice HikaruxKaoru are one of the few pairings I genuinely like, so yea a lot of that is probably personality. It was my favorite but I think as the manga progressed and the obsession with Haruhi from EVERY angle (she's not a Mary Sue, but the way everyone reacts towards her kinda makes her almost as intolerable for me which I rather resent) shifted me more towards a fixation with the loner characters.

Yea, they definitely aren't. Part of why I kinda just avoided Puppyshipping is I knew it'd be a hard pairing to get any sort of fix for.))
