Yami Takashi It's ep 9 and I don't see one thing about rabbit shapped mochi. I didn't see any rabbit shapped mochi in the wiki or on the web. Then you are obviously not looking very hard... O.o (Here's the first result from a simple Google search: HERE Scroll down a bit - it's a pretty informative entry...) Quote: Also i know what folklores db is based on. half the damn show was folklore related. So do I - I was watching DB and DBZ when you were still watching Pokemon in your jammies before preschool...DB is essentially a retelling of the epic tale Journey to the West, with a smattering of Indian/Chinese/Japanese/Buddhist mythology here and there... Quote: isn't it a bit strange that gaia would make such a item, and they're in business with a company called Mochi, and also funimation who put out the dragonball series. they'd most likely follow the dragonball version of the story for us americans who are afraid of saying rice cake so we use donut. (see pokemon) The Dragonball version of the story? I don't see any Rabbit King in the item - just a regular rabbit...and the moon...and mochi...seems pretty traditional to me... O.o

(see pokemon) The Dragonball version of the story? I don't see any Rabbit King in the item - just a regular rabbit...and the moon...and mochi...seems pretty traditional to me... O.o I googled it, if i couldn't find it on google the first try, then i didn't think i would find it at all. I didn't see anything in that article that said the rabbit made the rabbit shapped mochi. I'm sure that is some kind of fanservice like how we make chichens and rabbit shapped marshmellows. There might be people who make rabbit shapped mochi but i don't think that its too common. And my argument included that the rabbit iself makes the treats in rabbit shapes. But as i mentioned before it might be just another example of americanizing anime. Rice cakes become donuts in pokemon, so i'm sure it could be mochi changed into marshmellow for db. which ever treat the rabbit makes, its rabbi shapped so a person could view it as either marshmellow or mochi depending on their cultural understanding of the subject. I kinda like the marshmellow version better because i don't care to much for non-crispy rice. Also I started watching pokemon in the 5th or 6rth grade. I'm 20.5 years old and in my second year of college. stare Plus i never wear pajamas, they ride up and don't support the good bits. I like boxer breifs for their support and roominess. Tighty Whitys like to ride up and causes the prickly heat. and boxers don't provide enough support and the rabbit always escapes the hole, and the robin eggs follow out of the tree. stare

Yami Takashi 'Also i know what folklores db is based on. half the damn show was folklore related.'
And the other half was just plain retarded... I really hate that show. Its plot line was worse then Pokemon.... And Pokemon has a really sorry excuse of a plot line.

Yami - Fine, fine...it's all up for interpretation...we'll leave it at Americanization of anime...
As for the rest...that's waaaaaaaaay more info than I needed to know... gonk
Momijisama - Actually, I enjoyed both shows...well, at least up to a point... DB - was great - long, but great. DBZ - Desperately needs to be edited for time, but enjoyable up to the end of the Cell Saga... Pokemon - Always wished that my childhood had been like Ash's - life without parents, lots of adventure, a feisty redhead who digs me, the cops are friendly and hot ladies in miniskirts, the hospitals are full of hot nurses in skirts, and my worst enemy being an accident-prone lady in a miniskirt... wink Enjoyed that show right up to the point where they started trading out main characters and adding new pokemon... x.x

About the Pokemon thing you just said....Thats just a little weird.... DB, DBZ, DBGT, and the rest of Toriyama's work well... Lets just say there are American Animations with deeper plots.... well not much deeper, but deeper nonetheless. Might I add I hate all American Animation....

I don't care to much for Gt but DB and DBZ were good as long as they were in Funimation's hands and uncut. the voice acting from funimation is better then the ones they had at pioneer doing db and dbz. I mean they edited out the scene where bulma pissed herself in a boxset of the edited pioneer db i have. and i think all guys who watched pokemon and became a fan and/or pervert (not in that order) fantasizes about misty wanting their pokeballs cool and i think when it comes down to anime in the us, it depends on who hands are on the anime that determine how well it turns out after dubbing. I'm glad pokemon uses the word rice ball/cake now instead of donut. hell i think saying snow ball would have been a better american choice then donut. I mean the rice ball they draw look like those little coconut things with chocolate in them. speaking of americantizing here is my damnation americantized tenchi girls. Ayeka isn't finished yet

I used to be a Dragonball/Z/GT fanantic, I even created a Yahoo Group in 2001 dedicated to it. Ran it for 5 years, even had 7000 members at one point... 'heres the link if you want to look at it, mind you its a shell of its old self and remains unmaintained, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/saiyanbloodline/ ' Yet the more I see it the more stupid it seems to be.... DB/Z/GT I mean Now I used to like Pokemon, could careless for it now, though some of the games are still entertaining... But frankly, too want a Anime or Cartoon character to fondle your 'pokeballs,' as you put it.... Is just a little weird.... As far as your Americanized Tenchi-Girls goes..... they're quite creepy.... *shudders*
