Back at the massacred headquarters that Cheani himself picked out to hide away from both UNS forces and those of the Fallen Phoenix stood Roulin Presidiomni, child prodigy of power and the holder of the ancient title 'Owl of Life'. On what used to be the lawn stood the young Italian with fists curled so tightly upon themselves, bleeding due to his nails penetrating the surface of his palms entered the realm of possibility. Forward, the boy walked over what was now a charred remainder of the luscious beauty that once existed here. With each step he took towards what he knew would be his ultimate goal this evening, the wind seemed to blow more and more. The snowflakes, meager in the amount which was scattered indifferently by the wind didn't n** at his skin with the same potency as it had before. Perhaps, like the parched, arid ground on which he stood and the sturdy, yet heat-twisted building behind him, he'd become rather used to pain. The idea of it, the sensation it bought and the absolute inevitability of it. A warm sighed parted the lips of the Owl after his eyes closed to shut off those lavender hues from the world. The cold air that blew back at him in conflict returned that warmth and like a summer breeze emerging to burn away the memories of a frigid season, it assured Roulin. That bliss was short lived sadly. It wasn't long at all before that little bit of pleasure was stripped away by the angered winds.

A simper found it's way onto Roulin's face previously, but all that was left now was his father's inherited scowl. Unlike his father, it wasn't a sign of laziness or an indication of soon-to-come defiance. For the younger Presidiomni, it was a sign of anger. Remorse. Possibly even hate. The pair of curled fists soon ran flaccid. Only opened palms decorated with the slightly curved indentures of his nails were left there. The marks were more painful than the cold air's unrelenting assault on the tip of his nose, fingers and earlobes. "...Of course you didn't...." silently, those words left Roulin's mouth and flitted upon the wind just like a snowflake. Those words, cold and disappointed, were for his father whom he could see returning right now. Seeing that there was no sign of a fight anywhere on the man, his son mused to himself, "You wanted this...clever. I couldn't ask for a better gift." Those spheres of a soft purple tint reopened revealing a resolve that was now prevalent within them...it was akin to a flame within a cavern or a light at the end of a long, long hallway. It was the resolve to finish what his father started centuries ago...

There was no sound. No hesitation. There was nothing left. Roulin's form ascended partway into the air. His father's scowl was no longer evident on his face. Only that confident simper that his grandfather and Thomas used to wear so proudly. Looking into the distance, his form moved towards it with speeds that would tear any normal human apart...he was now on a mission to cut down The Fallen Phoenix by himself as he knew he should've done before. It was now a mission to stop Raven and whoever else dared to save her and that loathsome organization's twisted way of living.

"Please fasten your seatbelts. Refrain from using all electronics while the aircraft is taking off...." Ah, Che knew that no amount of jokes to mitigate his situation would help. He had a once Satan Owl and his Bi-polar Bunneh staying in his head for the time being. To make matters worse, there was no resource they couldn't access. A simply thought of theirs would become a manifestation with which they can interact and do stuff with. Stuff like break things and make noise...it wasn't as if Che didn't have almost half a millennium to adjust to Will and Serena. Though he always planned ahead, this wasn't in the cards. "When the aircraft has leveled off, you may resume activities. Estimated flight time...uhhhh.....about thirty minutes. Can't teleport right now, so bare with Presdiomni airlines if you will...pilot out."

Well, at least it was nicer here in New York than it was in Virginia. How could it not have been? Everything that wanted to kill the Phonixes were killed already. There was peace amongst this silent chaos ironically. Then again, where there are the like-minded, there is usually contentment. A family was a family no matter how crazy thought Che. Surely, by now, hundreds of family moments were flowing through Che's mind. Like when he first held Roulin and Moli together for the first time, his marriage and many other things. Nostalgia, Serena and Will would soon come to learn, had a tight grip on the relic of a man...

The trio were mid way home now. Another few minutes and maybe the tired Italian could achieve some kind of relaxation. Whether it was sleeping or just laying in the middle of a floor, he'd try it to calm his nerves and mind. Maybe more flying around would do him some good...a quick trip to Peru or Tokyo. On the horizon was a speck moving at a pace Che didn't pay much mind to. If it was military, he'd handle them accordingly and that would be that. The crack of the sonicboom that resonated behind the object was proof of just what the thing was. Hmmm....but the snow did mask it quite well. Rather than change path, the beguiled Presidiomni continued towards it. As time passed, he noticed that it wasn't a plane, but a person...what a surprise. Probably someone sent to kill him from NY. To get a better look, he activated Fennel's vision. It was like his son's, but it wasn't nearly as strong or concentrated. Upon activating it, he saw that it wasn't just some random Owl on patrol or something. It was Roulin moving toward him at speeds Che himself wasn't able to achieve since his younger days.

Roulin didn't show any signs of stopping and that meant for Che that he'd be getting tossed in only a mere few seconds. "Umm, you two..." he said to the two lovers walking around the gridded space of his mind. "Buckle up. Quick!" The elder Presidiomni slowed himself to avoid being thrown around too bad, although speeding up may have been a better idea. At least then, he could puncture the air Roulin was displacing ever so violently. As the younger Owl neared, Che lifted arms to brace for the impact. Roulin, now in sight, smirked a shameless, cocksure smirk before vanishing from sight instantly. When he reappeared for the few frames of time, he was only but a breath's length from the covered face of his father. His eyes were locked with his only for a nanosecond, but it seemed like months when Che saw the intent in the boy's eyes...Roulin then vanished leaving Che to contest the rushing air that had been collecting behind him for this time. Just as the bushy haired man feared, he was tossed in the air like a dizzy ragdoll....

~~~
"Ha...like I thought." Roulin had no intention of slowing nor did he feel the need to stop and help his father who was now tumbling round and round like towels in a dryer. Even as his eyes focused on the void of grey before him, Roulin could still see the man diminishing in the distance. His vision was active as it had been since he'd left Virginia. Why it was so was because the Owl of Life had been teleporting part of the way and flying some. In the time it took him to blink, he was out of Delaware and in Vermont. The next and he was just on the edge of New York. With his vision, he could survey the area more efficiently. A small voice in his head reminded him that Timothy was sure that he was coming today and had informed Raven already. There were no defenses set up to stop him, so either neither of them knew or neither of them cared. Roulin was fine with the decision either way.
The torn building that acted as Raven's office was just on the horizon and into it he could clearly see. Timothy couldn't sense him and neither could Raven. This was the Life Owl's doing. The Herald was just exiting. His eyes were slightly reddened as if he were crying and so were Raven's. Maybe they argued or something? Meh, it was none of this Owl's business. His task was as clear as crystal tonight and in this moment of vulnerability, he intend to clutch the last breath of life out of both that frenchwoman and her 'family'. When Timothy closed that door and proceeded on his way through an outlet nearby, Roulin wasted no time teleporting himself behind the girl. The light sound of air leaving the area he chose to enter would be all ther was to signal his all but silent arrival. His shoes didn't crush the broken glass beneath him, but rather it was displaced by the small puff of air. Standing back to back with his intended target once again, he only stared forward at the destroyed room she looked away from. When Catherine was ready, she'd acknowledge his presence with confidence as she always did.
((TFP---Raven))
The air in the office was still once more after Timothy had departed. The words which had been spoken were now lost in time and soon they would be forgotten. Alone, Raven was left to feel the presence of those she had killed. Ghostly hands crept over her pale, thin body and captured her beating heart. Bodiless voices called to her at every opportunity they had. This was her punishment for what she had done. This was the burden that she had long denied before finally accepting it. Catherine the once great and powerful was now hollow and on the verge of defeat. Her pale lips twitched lightly into a smile as her sky blue eyes turned towards the snow that fell outside. She followed the movements of one particular snowflake that had floated in the office and now danced before her eyes. It was almost as though the flake of ice was mocking the French woman by showing how free it was. Reaching out, Catherine smiled like a child as the snowflake landed on her outstretched hand and remained for a moment before melting into a tiny pool of water. As she dusted her hand free of the moisture she noticed that the wind had shifted direction allowing more snowflakes to dance around her. “Pretty….”
The moment of tranquil was soon destroyed when the air from behind changed. Softly, the disturbed currents sent the snowflakes scattering all around. No sound was made to indicate who or what had caused this to happen, but then…no sound was needed. The blonde female let out small sigh as her hands fell to her side. Her entire body became aware that someone was now standing directly behind her. Her Owl powers grumbled restlessly as it fought against its master who was keeping it at bay. So use was this power to defending that when it was told to remain passive, it would go into a sort of shock mode. Catherine, now happy that she had full control of her unstable power raised her head and straightened out her weary figure. “Roulin….” Her voice was now done with sounding defeated or weak. When faced with this man her proud nature took centre stage. She was had always taken on the Italian man with all her might and skills. This may be their last battle but she wasn’t going to show her fear. After all, she had already danced with the grim reaper…she wasn’t scared of dying anymore.
“You took your time getting here…” Catherine remained where she was. Both of them stood back to back like partners ready to defend against an army of foes. Only, in their case it would soon turn into a fierce fight for life. Only one could walk away from the pending fight. “I would have thought that you would come sooner. After all, I am ready to hand over your heart on a silver plate….” The words that left her lips had shocked even herself. She had spent a great deal of time thinking this moment through. She was now ready to give up what was Roulins’ but she was still going to fight until her human heart stopped beating. “I told you that if I were to die, it would be by your hands…I plan on sticking to that.” Laughing softly, Catherine turned to face the man’s back. Her aura shifted slightly as she once again became Raven, the leader of The Fallen Phoenix. “After today we will finally be free of each other. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?” Her blue eyes grew icy and colder as her hand came to rest on her hip. “Shall we?”
Hitonomi stood in front of the scene, several of the cores went off, injuring two members of the Fallen Phoenix and leaving Aoi injured on the ground as well. Hitonomi drew his weapons and aimed at surrounding personnel," Anyone so much as flinches will be struck down...he is currently slightly unstable..I don't need any more sudden movements" he muttered with a low growl. He stepped forward and edged towards the imposter dressed as Kojiro,"...Kojiro....this is over...there is no more helping this situation...I don't need you getting hurt over this." he said quietly as he looked at her wounds. She didn't respond at first, mumbling something about a gift and gibberish of fates changing. Hitonomi would not take no for an answer. He scooped her up and headed out the door, for the first time, he aborted any attempt to finish a mission. His eyes still keeping alert, he stepped out the door, "I'm taking him to rest, it seems he is still out of it..." he muttered. Keeping quiet, and exiting the building.
"...I'm not letting you get pulled into this too...there is nothing else that can be done...I'm getting you out of here...we no longer have any place here."
~~~
Kojiro grit his teeth as he began struggling against the pulses once more, clenching his hands as he thrust himself out of the bed, letting out another pained cry. Sure enough, the battery gave out and the pulses faded and gave out. Taking a moment to recover, he pulled the electrodes off and got on his hands and knees, gasping for air to fill his paralyzed lungs. Finally reaching a normal pace of breath he looked up and examined the reflection in the mirror. His clothes had been taken, he was wearing a white shirt and boxers. He looked at his face and noticed his eye-patch was missing as well. He had not taken it off in so long that it almost startled him, his left eye was merely small shade lighter than the other, undetectable at a glance. Knowing how mirrors tend to bring nothing but trouble, he got to his his feet and wearily made it down the hall. All he could manage were a tattered pair of pants, somewhat loose but were able to be tied with a belt he found in another room. He turned and looked out the door, figuring what part of Exire he was in. He made his way down the stairs and headed towards Raven's building, he needed to make his point clear...the best he could.
~~~`
Aoi slowly came to as she looked up to see the grey haired gunner carrying her towards the edge of Exire, looking up at the snowy surroundings, she clutched Hitonomi's coat carefully, "wh-where are we?" Hitonomi kept his gaze ahead and looked no different,"...We are leaving, there is no need for us here. You can't put yourself in danger for a lost cause like-"
A sharp slap crossed his cheek, his usually pale skin had lightly turned red where she landed. Eyes glassy on the verge of crying, hid a slight tinge of frustration, "...Thats not for you to judge...there is still a chance! There always was!" Hitonomi kept walking silently as he gripped her tightly. Aoi struggled against him and even clawed at his arms, "Let me go! If you won't help...I'll...I'll" she reached into the coat and pulled out two more cores, hurling them to the ground. Hitonomi jumped back and tumbled to the ground, Aoi falling next to him. The impersonator got to her feet first and took off running, "Don't follow me!" she cried as she sprinted back following the footsteps.
Kojiro had once again made it halfway to his original location as he once again found a peculiar site. A cloaked figure was wandering the streets yet again. Kojiro's eyes narrowed, it as a familiar sight but he knew he would not see the albino again. Soon he recognized it...
Aoi had lost her way and had begun to navigate from her foggy recollections. All the vehicles looked the same, and to a girl from a small village, it was very overwhelming. As she turned to the next intersection she spotted someone nearby, sensing a familiar presence she smiled as she hoped it was who she thought it was. She began running towards him as fast as she could, her eyes wide and joyful.
Kojiro noticed the figure getting closer, it was his coat. All this talk of facing himself and now he had a chance to truly cut his ties with what mercy he had left...the last encounter was catastrophic because he hesitated, he would not make the same mistake. Kojiro waited as they got in range, he could feel it. His blood ran cold as he realized he was once again taking the life of another. He could not describe in words how it truly made him feel, sad? anxious? exhilarated? No matter, he raised his hand towards the figure and began to concentrate. His hand began to glow as a familiar power began to resonate...it had been welling up the whole time and now was once again fully usable. Kojiro motionlessly stared at the incoming figure quietly, and shook his head in distaste.
"Imposter....drop dead."
"Kojiro! I'm so glad-"
"AOI!"
The shrill cry of terror echoed in the streets, only to be drowned out by the thunderous roar or surging ice. Just as quickly as the commotion peaked, it ended just as abruptly. Kojiro stared past his hand, from where his palm was to the wall of the building was not nothing but torn pavement and thick ice and snow, no sign of life whatsoever. He stared at the still carnage once again and walked along his path. Not even giving the scene a second glance.
This moment that transpired at the pace any other would seemed to last decades for the Suit of Diamond. Entirely, his being was submerged in what gradually felt more and more like an event than just a naturally occurring happening. The snowflakes within the room seemed to excuse the two individuals who stood so haplessly in that massacred office room. For certain Owls, those crystals that fell randomly from the sky would melt before hitting them. Here, for the holder of the Heart of Life and it's true owner, The Life Owl, the snow looked as though it was falling around the two rather than directly onto them. This was probably Raven's doing...Roulin could still see the raw power within her circulating at a feverish pace throughout her smaller frame. It was impressive that passively, she alone could displace even precipitation in such a way. It was all the more impressive that she, with nothing but her will, was resisting the urge to do what her power wanted so fervently. There was no way that he couldn't say that his share of her ability wanted the same thing and it was simply itching to do so. Like the frenchwoman behind him, this was but a passive defensive measure that one could control about as much as they could control the digestion of their food or the function of their liver. As such, it was also an indicator of feeling threatened or anxious. Maybe even fearful to some small, but not an insignificant degree.
The silence in the room that was ever so slightly offset by the paltry whipping and whistling of the winds outside was soon broken entirely by the voice of the terrorist who stood at his back. Strangely, her choice to speak was found by Roulin to be a gesture he appreciated. The both of those Owls who had abilities that could nearly obliterate the other stood in positions that were perhaps their most vulnerable when facing off against the other. A smirk burgeoned on the lips of the turned Italian as Catherine spoke. "And hello to you too," replied the Owl of Life as his fingers anxiously tipped against his palm. "You'd already be dead if I didn't have business to attend to beforehand, Catherine." Her statement, spoken with a voice as somberly frigid as the air it flitted up was almost accepting in some respects, but by no means was it submissive. "I consider it an honor to have fought someone like you. I only hope that in the afterlife, wherever you end up, that you consider it an honor to have had die by my hands." From the woman, Roulin didn't expect weakness or cowardice now or ever onward. If there were even the slightest hint of it present her naturally steely cold tone, there would've already been a bloodied line streaking across her sundered forehead. "Heh. Freeing myself will only tighten the binds wrapped around me. As one chain falls, the others can only tighten. If anything, you will be the free one while I'll remained trapped."
The cracking of cold, dry bones filled the office room for an instant before becoming but a memory in this everlasting moment. The pending fight had the Italian's fingers tipping his palms with anticipation and his soft, unnoticeable shell of shockwave-force rattling for a fight. Raven's soft laugh was met with a content silence from the unusually stoic Owl. The only thing that could've been considered a response, a retort or some kind of comeback from the normally aloof, sharp-tongued Presidiomni was the humming of his indistinct bubbleshield. Surely, the leader of the Fallen Phoenix who understood so well the power of silence would hear the volumes being spoken by the raw power surrounding both himself and her. More or less, that was the way they truly communicated. Maybe even they way they lived. Already, Raven had turned to face him. Honourably, she didn't attack. Another something that Roulin found himself appreciating greatly. Now facing the woman, the terrorist leader whose path of destruction made Roulin's look like a simple hop, the Owl of Life found himself feeling prepared...bathed in confidence even. His wisteria eyes met with those icy blue rocks that were Catherine's. After her hand fell onto her hip and his into the warm pockets of his coat, his smirk tore only partway for him to respond, "We shall..."
Before the echo of the word could fade into the bloodstained floor or into the grey void of the winter night, the shockwave that surrounded Roulin started to expand slowly, but still very noticeably. The books that lined the mahogany shelf just a few ways from the door began to shake so violently, it eventually fell over after skipping a few inches on the floor. The cracked mirror Timothy and Raven found themselves staring into shattered into pieces within the wake of the miniature earthquake that was Roulin's stolen ability. Unlike Raven's, the expanding bubble of volatile energy was visible due to it rotating on an unstable axis. This may or may not have been an advantage over Raven's method of using the ability as his technique was better for grinding and twisting things to shreds. Raven's method appeared to simply batter and bruise anything in it's way. "...I haven't had to struggle to control any thing in so long...," said Roulin over the low murmurs of his suit of force. When the offensive shield that rotated around the Italian stopped, it began to shrink until it's undulations appeared to cover him like a suit. "Here...I don't have to..." His father's grin crept over his lips and curled them proudly and confidently. With this power at his disposal as well as the myriad of others he had up his sleeves, how could he show anything but confidence? As his first attack and his first step to tearing down what the blond-haired, blue-eyed woman before him created over these long, arduous years, Roulin allowed the compacted shockwave to expand rapidly in all directions. It's rotational force was enough to not only pull things of lesser weights in, but to grind up the floor and the wall he stood near. If Catherine didn't counter, she'd suffer a similar, but far gruesome fate.
((TFP---Raven))
Raven regarded Roulin’s words with a relaxed and calm demeanour. The change in how he conducted himself was far more evident now than ever before. Her lips remained pulled upwards in a small smile as he told her that he considered it an honour to have fought someone like herself. Raven needn’t say a word to confirm the Italian’s thoughts about how she would feel about dying by his hands. Hadn’t she already told him many times before that his were the only hands that she would let herself die by? Their long history together as enemies had somehow formed this twisted bond…one that no one could possibly understand. It kept them clashing together with such a force that they would disregard anything and everything around them. Once they were together nothing could stop them from colliding and causing colossal damage to the area they chose as their battlefields. In a way it meant that they were selfish; and perhaps they were…But they were still both fighting to prove to each other something secret…something sinister even. Raven laughed lightly when Roulin made a comment about how he would remain chained while she was set free. He was right. She would be finally free and he would have to shelter her little burden and have to live with her death on his conscience. Not that it would be much to bare…The only thing that would change would be his lack of people to fight “Why do you think I am rather happy to see you here? Only you can do away with my chains, Roulin…”
The French woman was by now, well aware of the bubble like shield that surrounded the Presidiomni man like a suit. The raw energy was still able to startle the female who had yet to still get over the fact that someone other than herself had her Quaking Owl. Though this man’s Quaking Owl was nothing by a copy. Despite it being just that, a copy, it was just as perfect and as flawless as Raven’s own. She had turned to face his back at this point and through well trained eyes she could see the oh so familiar force that swirled like the man’s aura around his body. Just seeing the power leaking from various locations was enough to send Raven’s defensive nature into overdrive. Her Owl reared its ugly head and demanded to be used right away. Raven had a tight leash upon her power over shockwaves and was able to bide herself some time before unleashing it. It was inevitable that the two beings would soon be tearing into each other with like two lions fighting over territory This was how they lived. Without conflict the two Owls would become bored and restless. Their lives were created in order to fight. Raven was created in order to give Roulin a challenge. Once she was overcome he would be forced to fight whatever other evil arises. She would be free…and he would be doomed to live forever, repeating his past time and time again. Walking in his father’s footsteps and correcting Family mistakes. Finally, her blue orbs stared into the wisteria eyes of Rou as he too lowered a hand, though his went into a pocket as supposed to his hip.
The word had barely left the Italian’s lips before his shockwave began to expand outwards. The tactic of using the shockwave as a shield was one that Raven had mastered a long time ago. It had taken a while to master it to the level that Roulin was now displaying. “I guess he is a prodigy when it comes to learning powers…” The fact that the shockwave was actually visible so clearly was something that did happen to take Raven by surprise. Her eyes remained unimpressed but the way her mouth opened then closed again was more than enough of an indication of her awe. While she had was able to create cannon sized balls of her power to launch at an object, she had yet to learn how to make it do what it was Roulin was currently making it do. His shockwave was rotating impressively as it expanded outwards. Unlike Raven’s more forward usage of her power, this one was slower but just as, if not more, affective. While Roulin spoke and said that he hasn’t had to struggle to control anything in so long, Raven couldn’t help but tip her imaginary hat to him. He was doing a damn impressive job. She knew that she would have to brace herself for his next attack as soon as he pulled the shockwave back to him. That was just a display of his control, his way of showing her that he knew how to use the power that she had spent her life working with. What a b*****d…
"Here...I don't have to..."
That was the foreword for what was to come next. Raven’s legs slipped apart into a defensive stance. Her eyes now as cold as the blizzard outside were narrowed into slits. Her powers, which had been waiting for so long to be released, were finally being put to use. Roulin’s grinning face did little to unnerve the French woman. Instead it only caused her to grin back with a confidence that only her proud nature could conjure up. “By all means…show me what your little rotating shockwave can do against mine…” The blonde female outstretched her hands and released a shockwave that covered her like a glass dome. The approaching rotating shockwave was doing a fine job with chewing up the floor and nearby walls, but this only made Raven liken it to a teething puppy. Despite her own little private thoughts on Roulin’s first attack, Raven knew that she needed to expel more force in order to withstand the shockwave. Her Quaking Owl was now baring its fangs and releasing more power with each beat of Raven’s heart. Her eyebrows knitted together in concentration as she fought to keep her ground and her shockwave stable enough to withhold Rous’. Pulling one hand back to her chest, Raven whipped up a ball which she then forced to become condensed to the point that it was pretty unstable. She smirked and looked back up to Roulin before launching the small shockwave ball through a hole in her shield and towards his ever expanding one. She hoped that the unstable pressurised ball would cause his shockwave to falter. Once the ball was under enough strain, it would simply explode with a thunderous bang. Raven’s shield would remain partly intact but only around her immediate person. The risk of her being caught up in her own attacks explosion was a risk she would have to take.
((Serena))
“Keep our kids away from certain parts of your mind? Oh but Cheani…If they see or hear anything that may ruin their innocence I will only blame it entirely on you. I would then be forced to rinse your mouth out with soap while having Sebastian re-educate you in the appropriate areas.” The albino bunny assassin smiled innocently “That is unless you can become better at keeping certain parts of your head locked up tightly~” Serena was still a bit confused as to how this process was going to work but she didn’t really care anymore. All she knew was that she and Will would be together in a world where Will still existed. Serena smiled when Will said that she was right and that he knew exactly what to do in order to push Che’s patience. She looked back to the Italian man as she patted Wills arm “You know, you won’t have to worry about Will misbehaving as long as you are good. In fact, the chances of him acting out with me there are slim.” She winked playfully towards her Kitten. She was clearly having some fun at the bushy haired mans’ expense. For the first time in weeks she was enjoying herself and not worrying about what the future held in store for her. She was finally able to look ahead wi-----
"Ah, and Cerbs found Koji-san. He's awake and nearby”
“Eh?”
"You two will be a problem, and so will your kids. But you know what? You know what....I already have alot to deal with. You two won't be *gulp* that much more of a hassle...."
“Wait. What did you say, Kitten? Koji’s where?” Serena was trying her best to ignore Che for the time being. Her attention was completely on her smirking lovers face which offered little to answer her question. She managed to catch the crazy smirk that Che had flashed her but it didn’t faze her in the slightest. “Will…Where is he?” Her voice was small and her throat tight with raw emotion. “Cheani, will you shut up for one damn mom---------ahhhh!!!” Serena hadn’t noticed that the blank card had been placed on the floor before her nor had she noticed just how eerily close Che was to her. With a small bump of his hip he had sent her toppling forwards towards the damp carpeted flooring. Her fear of falling down was something that she had had since her teens. Being thrown to the floor was a sign of weakness and it left her open to attacks. After landing on her feet countless times before, there was no way the bushy haired freak was going to see her laying on the floor like some weak child. It took her brain a mere second to register was had happened and what was needed to be done in order to lessen the blow.
Serena’s hands outstretched and landed on the floor, the rest of her body curled inwards towards her swollen belly like a spring being tightened. In the next instant her legs her ‘fired’ upwards into the air as her body stealthily performed a tidy flip. While her nickname was bunny, her reaction time and ability to always be on her feet fit that of a cats’ personality more. “……..” Her silver eyes were narrowed, not in anger (yet) but because of the blinding light that she had fallen into at the start. After rubbing them both, the white haired woman looked around the vast open space that seemed to stretch on for miles and miles. “What…” The confused little assassin removed her coat and let it drop to the floor by her feet. In here…it was a lot warmer than it had been back in the damp room she had left behind. Moments later she was joined by William but she had nothing to say to him just yet. She was far too busy taking in this strange new place. “It’s so empty….I always thought Che’s mind was empty…but that was only in mock humour…”
From somewhere….somehow came Cheani’s voice as he began to give out flight instructions. Serena wrinkled her nose in distaste at the man’s bland sense of humour. “Kitten…What…what do you do here?..” She run a hand through her hair and let out small puff of air like a child pouting about the lack of things to do for fun. Turning to face the former Satan Owl, Serena smirked before glomping him like a professional rugby player tackling a rival. “Oh well…whatever…At least I am with you….” Ah, the moment of romance was soon interrupted by Che’s voice as he told them to ‘buckle up’ “Eh? Buckle up? How?!” Serena’s eyes widened as a large bolt of lightning struck not 10ft away from where she and Will stood “What the hell was that?!” Serena’s questions were left without answers as she and Will were soon sent spinning around just as Che was currently spinning around in real life. For some reason, Serena was soon regretting her decision to come to this place. “CHEANI! THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT AN EXPECTING LADY!!!!!” All the spinning and lightning was doing no favour for Serena and her weakened stomach. So much for relaxing and exploring this strange, strange world…..
((Will))
Will narrowed his eyes as Che claimed the student won only because Che had messed with the cartridge. Of course he did, but Will had been a good sport and honored the bet anyway. And no, he wasn't going to try again. The former Satan Owl listened in amusement as Serena and Che countered back and forth. The bunny was right about Will being slightly better behaved with her around. The albino Vanishing Owl did have the strange effect of calming the blonde devil.
Serena Navarro looked as if she was getting peaceful as she held her kitten, but that all ended briefly as Che carded Serena without checking her age. Will had to smirk as he followed suit. The rant that followed was entirely expected. Che should have known.
Before Serena and Will could converse further in Che's mind, Che shot off, announcing his role as a terrible pilot of a turbulent ride, and Serena's reaction was just classic as the two of them tumbled around the empty mind.
“CHEANI! THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT AN EXPECTING LADY!!!!!”
"Ah, bunny, do calm down." Will said soothingly as he steadied Serena even as Che continued spinning around thanks to contact with Roulin. The two lovers were floating in mid mind now and a certain familiar bed had popped into existence to catch Serena and Will. It was a replica of what Haka knows as "DA BED", and Will was sure as hell hoping Serena wouldn't throw up on him. Because Will knew all of the details, this bed felt just as comfortable. He landed first and then pulled Serena onto the bed with him to stabilize them. Around the bed, the familiar structure of one of Will's bedrooms became to form. However, there was no ceiling, just sky... and the bedroom was an open structure in the middle of a large garden.
"Now, stop complaining, bunny. Just relax. Really, Cheani. That IS no way to treat my lady bunny." Will made a face. "Bunny... Kojiro is fine... I have him covered." The blonde musician caressed his bunny on the cheek and hugged her. "Don't worry about him... the loser took off before you could greet him. Cerbs is watching him."
"....................." Che was still spinning and the view of the outside world was getting annoying. "You idiot, you should be able to fix yourself. Don't you remember all that f**king training? F**k it. Just call my powers and use the sound waves to right yourself."
((Cerbs))
"Mrrr.." Kojiro had not patted Cerbs after all even though the hellhound had stood there obediently. Almost though. Cerbs sighed. The Frozen Owl had left the door and was now on the prowl. The hellhound followed from a distance away, padding softly, and informing Will and Sebastian of the situation. The guardian of the gate could tell Kojiro felt despair. For a moment, Cerbs though Serena would have come running when Will mentioned Kojiro's name, but it seemed that Che had taken both of them and already left without giving Serena a chance. It was now up to the Cerbster to keep tabs.
"Kojiro! I'm so glad-"
KABOOM! There went the torrent of ice. The hellhound facepawed. "Mrrr......" Alas, help was on the way. Maybe it would help. Maybe it wouldn't."
((Benkei))
BAKAAAAAAAAA! Benkei Thorinagano stared at the mirror in front of him. KUSOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Why in the world was his hair WHITE?! The Japanese Shield Owl shook his head, doused water over his face, and scrubbed furiously for a few seconds before looking at the mirror again. His normally dark dark brown hair was still white. Next... the tall martial artist jumped into the shower and furiously scrubbed his hair. This was yet another futile attempt as Benkei's hair still remained white.
There was only one explanation, and Benkei was going to head to the cause of all this: his younger brother, Genya Thorinagano, child prodigy who unintentionally experimented benignly on people such as his older brother Ben. The Shield Owl, normally calm and devoid of any truly animated facial expressions, for once had an annoyed twitching expression on his face as he stormed out of the room and searched for his brother. "Anata wa watashi no kami ni naniwoshita? !" He was so intent on finding Genya that he didn't notice the portal which opened right under his feet.
To Ben's surprise, he was sent tumbling downward into darkness. The Shield Owl's eyes grew wide as he saw the ground approach. CRASH! Snow? It wasn't snowing in southern Japan! And it wasn't this cold!
The Shield Owl grunted as he righted himself and rolled over, only to be poked from some of the ice from Kojiro's earlier attack. "...." The Japanese martial artist finally got a chance to look at his surroundings and blinked. Where was he? He was in a set of ruins?! "Baka! Anata wa watashi ga watashi ga genkaku tsuku~tsu te sono nomi nani o shita nodesu ka?!!"
Benkei Thoringano, the Owl known only to "..." and "Tsch" and never speak, had not only spoken but yelled in his confusion. This was a miracle. Somewhere behind him was Kojiro, but Benkei hadnt taken notice yet....and there was no telling if Kojiro would recognize Benkei, who now had white hair thanks to some screw up in one of Genya's latest experiments.
((Translation: What did you do to my hair?!!
Idiot! What did you make me drink that's making me hallucinate?!!!))
Kojiro paced calmly away from the wreckage, as if nothing was wrong with the gruesome attack that had taken place. The frozen ground gently caressed the Owl's bare feet as he walked. Able to once again withstand freezing temperatures...all that was left was the light crisp crunch that came from the layer of snow giving around every step he took. Breathing in the frosty air gave small relief to his rapidly beating heart, giving him a refreshingly cool sensation through his body. As he made his way closer to Raven's dwelling he caught a glimpse of something slamming into the snow in front of him.
Kojiro paused for a moment, calmly surveying the area. He once again continued walking towards them, fully intent of simple passing them by. A few knives slowly formed as he got closer, lazily floating around him as he get closer to see the white haired stranger ramble incoherently about hallucinating....in Japanese. He was intent on killing him on the spot if he even presented the slightest threat. Kojiro was within distance to be easily heard, "yotte...orok mada reiauto shi, jikuuke wo shuushuu shi masu. muda ni sora wo sakebu dake ha kixyoujin wo shi masu. sono houhou de muda ni suru baai ha izure ka no mama ni koko de ha tanni soko ni shizuka ni suwatte ya samu sa wo kika se te anata ga shuchixyou susume shi masu." Kojiro spoke calmly and kept the explanation concise...he did not feel he needed to waste anymore time. Looking up, he noticed a commotion beginning to take place in the distance. Kojiro narrowed his eyes and kept his focus, he was still fatigued and his abilities were still returning. If anything, he needed to recover as much as he could. If an attack was beginning, the names were narrowed down to a few people. All of which possess earth shattering abilities. Kojiro felt the necklace around his neck, and the patch no longer covering his face. Things were still a mystery to him...and he felt clarity would only bring more misfortune.
((Stupid drunk...lay still and gather your bearing. Pointlessly shouting at the sky will only label you a lunatic. If you want to be useless in that manner I suggest you either leave here, or simply sit there quietly and let the cold weather claim you.))
~~
Hitonomi stood wide eyed, his body was ripped up by shards of ice. His arm was impaled by pieces in multiple spots, holding his hand in place. Just in front of him was a peculiar wearpon, it was the same scarlet colored pistol he brandished in Kojiro's face, now in pieces. His hand and arm...along with the shoulder and torso were severely burned. The charred pavement and debris near the pistol suggested a surge of heat created most of damage...along with the pocket that was created deep in the middle of Kojiro's attack. Laying in the middle of the small pocket was Aoi, severely injured by the attack's initial attack, crippled by the ice that had managed to tear at her limbs. Her expression looked as though she was going through shock....but she was still alive. Hitonomi grunted as he tried to free his arm to no avail. Instead, he reached with his other hand and pulled out a polished gun. It whirred to life as he pointed it to the wall across from him. Taking careful aim, he fired two shots, both striking the ice with crushing force, leaving chunks splintered to fragments. The thick ice was still keeping them trapped, and neither of them could afford to be trapped much longer.
((Sebastian))
Sebastian pulled his jacket around himself as the chill of the day air bit at his face and hands. Cheani, Will and Serena were all gone from New Exire and now he stood alone atop a building. It was good that Serena was finally out of the danger zone. The faithful servant had spent the last week tracking down the irritating woman, who had somehow managed to remain one step ahead each time Seb got close. “Even while expecting she puts her life at risk…Amusing woman..” It was all too apparent that this stubborn, risk taking side of Serena was something that Will had found appealing. While at times it would appear that Serena didn’t care for anything other than herself, money and guns, the tall male had come to learn over the years that she was simply a misguided girl who had been tossed from place to place armed with only a gun and her sense of pride. The times in which she was able to express loyalty or friendship were few and far in-between. It was a given that she would end up trying to find Kojiro and take him with her. While she was currently safe…as soon as she was free again she would go back to tracking Kojiro. This was something Sebastian couldn’t let happen.
The tall male turned his head to the left and raised an eyebrow in mock surprise that the sight which befell his eyes. There on the ground below was little Kojiro. “Ah there he is~” This was the reason why Sebastian was still here. He had been told by Will before his death that Kojiro was on a list of people of will need ‘babysitting’ should he fall in this war. “He is also the only person left who Serena would die for….Tsch...Annoying…” The heterochromia eyed male watched as young Aoi ran towards Kojiro “How foolish..” Kojiro, who was now in defence mode, savagely unleashed a storm of ice capable of destroying most of the surrounding area. “A bit over the top considering she was harmless.” Sebastian rolled his overworked eyes before gazing down at the ice covered area. “Hitonomi…” The grey haired male had managed to cover Aoi in time but now he too was trapped. Concentrating on the area, Sebastian opened a portal for the gunner and his friend. Hopefully Hito would accept Sebastians help and get the girl away from danger. The ending of the portal would bring the pair to a safe location inside building Kojiro and Serena had been before. The butler then opened a portal from himself and stepped inside.
The dark haired male hated these types of situations. Standing up straight, Sebastian opened another portal and summoned his first guest to the area. Bekei appeared shouting in Japanese about his younger brother, which Seb ignored. Instead his narrowed eyes stared at the manically depressed Frozen Owl who was now muttering something to Benkei. “Kojiro Izayoi. I’ve seen more joy in the eyes of a person I am slicing open…” Sebastian was in no way scared of this child despite the amount of damage that this particular child could do. “I hope your mind is working order…At least working enough for you to realise that the guy on the floor is a friend of yours~” The butler indicated to Ben and smirked “Or do you not know the difference between friend and foe these days?” His eyes flashed in irritation “People like you are so frustrating. You deny that you love attention yet everything you do says otherwise. Acting like you are alone in the world and yet, when someone comes to your aid---” He pointed to the frozen tomb in which Hito and Aoi had been trapped “---You react like so….It’s no wonder that people leave you…” Sebastian opened another portal…but it wasn’t for him to use. “I wonder if you could kill a former teammate~ This is why I’ve brought young Benkei here…Oh, and I have another trick up my sleeve designed to give you another chance to live…”
From the portal came the small doll like woman known only as Keres, the innocent looking, and vacant eyed female who had spent her entire life killing and torturing. She didn’t even acknowledge Kojiro for she was too busy giving Seb a disapproving glance. She stood at Sebby’s side as he returned his attention back to the Frozen Owl “Now then…” The butler smiled at Koji like he was about to get started on a business transaction “How about you finally grow up and get your f*****g a** back to Japan, hm? This war will be over before the morning ….” He chuckled darkly “I am sure you dearly departed friend would rather than then for you to end up dead or sealed away like a monster~” Motioning to Keres with one hand Seb continued in a tone tainted by dark humour “Ah…How about we ask him what he would prefer….”
A blinding light erupted from Keres’s eyes and mouth which soon consumed her entire body. Sebastian’s twisted smile was illuminated in such a way that his true nature was almost revealed in the depths of his cold, malicious eyes. He never looked away from the Frozen Owl, almost like he was daring him to even try and attack. When the light died down Keres was joined with another being. A small child bathed in a warm glow almost seemed to be ‘waking up’ after a long sleep. His blue eyes sparkled as they reflected the white snow surrounding him. Nathanial, do tell your friend that dying needlessly is a waste…”
“….Where…am I?”
((TFP-Dakota))
Sitting up right at the table Dakota was eating her evening meal. Taking hold of the flat sided knife, she began to cut her way through the tough steak, while stabbing her fork to hold it in place. Just in front of her was a lit candle shining bright, lighting up the room. "Today's news... ... ..." the television in the other room was playing while she sat there listening. Finishing up her meal she began to lift herself up scooting back a few paces back. She walked over to the kitchen sink and started to turn the lever, as water started to pour out, she began to rinse her plate scraping the rest into the disposal with her fork and knife. Just as she started to dry the plate with a towel, she placed it into the cabinet. Slowly dropping her arms by her side she began to push the chair back in. "...." looking over to the television she started to take a seat on the comfortable sofa and began to lift her legs over the table. Getting relaxed she began to pick up the remote and started to change the channel to the Discovery channel. Watching sharks eating people. "..."
((Benkei Thorinagano))
, "yotte...orok mada reiauto shi, jikuuke wo shuushuu shi masu. muda ni sora wo sakebu dake ha kixyoujin wo shi masu. sono houhou de muda ni suru baai ha izure ka no mama ni koko de ha tanni soko ni shizuka ni suwatte ya samu sa wo kika se te anata ga shuchixyou susume shi masu."
"...." Wait a minute. That voice was very familiar. Ben hadn't heard it in a while, but there was no mistaking it... except the tone was so not like him. It sounded like Koj! The Shield Owl quickly turned around and blinked. It WAS Koj! But he looked quite beat up. "Ko----"
And at that moment Sebastian appeared and interrupted, identifying Benkei and scolding Kojiro. That butler of Will's certainly had a sharp tongue....and a terrible attitude. But what followed surprised Ben. The Shield Owl had not known that Nat had died. He had to block his eyes when Keres began to glow. When the glow faded, Ben let his eyes see and squinted. Eh? Is that Nat? Uh oh... if there was something Ben was awfully suspicious about, it was ghosts. The normally stoic Japanese martial artist paled slightly. "Gosuto.....seishin?" But how was that possible?!
((Ghost.. spirit.))
Kojiro looked curiously as the tall man stood before him, the tone he took was confident to which Kojro interpreted as arrogance. The Frozen owl recived no reply to the sharp words he uttered. The attention was now focused on yet another distraction. Kojiro simply studied the new figure closely before even considering a reply to his cold words. The knives floating calmly were now perfectly still, ready to respond as a counter. Kojiro oddly had not intention to attack outright this time. However, his counter was ready with almost surgically precise accuracy. If it be the delirium of a false sense of clarity, or the acceptance of futility...Kojiro responded calmly, "My mind is stable at the moment...though at this point, I feel as though I am hallucinating. You see, Benkei is currently helping in the efforts with Japan." he began. He stopped and studied the blundering person for a moment. After a moment, Kojiros' memory registered the person in question, without a doubt. Sebastian did in fact bring Benkei to him. Kojiro was trying not to just rush to him and hold him as tight as he could. He did not trust anything at this point even then...the butler's words did not help the confusion. Kojiro took note of Benkei's bewilderment....this was not of his own accord.
A sad smile graced Kojiro's features. In most situations up to this point, Kojiro would tearfully defend himself in an attempt to justify his actions, with great emotion he would try to prove them wrong. The boy's eyes were simply looking slightly downcast, still keeping the butler in view, his knives the only thing giving full attention to this mysterious person. Kojiro's lips slightly parted, almost at a loss of words, but then he began to speak, "a friend...an ally or companion of which a bond of common ground is formed...usually by sentimental means..." Kojiro rattled off his interpretation as if he had read it from a book. Keeping his gaze steady, he continued, "Foe...usually used to describe an enemy, that which causes for actions feelings of negativity..such as sorrow, discord,anger, and contempt...obviously the opposite of friend...feel free to judge the inaccuracy of those definitions but I believe that is what the difference is...at this point I won't deny I am having problems identifying people with those titles...such as yourself." He explained in flat tone. Kojiro closed his eyes and calmly bowed, as he lifted himself of up, he once again responded to the Butler's blunt accusations and questions, "Forgive me for falling so far below your expectations...To be perfectly honest, It really isn't exactly attention I seek, but at this point I do find what I am searching infantile, perhaps of little value to someone the likes of you...flagrantly analyzing me and spitting out nails with no regard of what or how they are implying their findings...I have not met you for more than a second and you are already scolding me...for what? Do you think you are the first to point this out? Perhaps you knowing so much about me implies you can read my thoughts as well. You can sense my feelings without empathizing with them. Everything I have done can easily be judged and understood...just like that., If that is not the case...someone else...If I am wrong I would be happy if you left it at that...something tells me I don't need or warrant an explanation." Kojiro followed Sebastian's hand and returned his attention to the ice that encased his most recent target, "I had encountered them before...their motives were considerate but their methods were foolish and reckless...the moment I saw them again I had no problem ending their lives...I do not want that kind of aid....not anymore." Kojiro paused as he made a another shap cut to Kojiro's nerves, "People don't usually leave me...on their own accord." he muttered softly. At this point Kojiro was growing tired of this person...he was non-nonchalantly taking jabs at Kojiro as if he had known him for more than a moment, and tugging at his heartstrings to make a point. Their all knowing and complacent attitude diluting any signs of restraint...it was almost disgusting to Kojiro that people acted this way...but usually this come from being in a position of control and significant ability. Behind his calm and melancholy features he could already see it--
...This man was no different from the others.
Kojiro's knives now spiraled as they reared to attack, "...Another chance?...You foresee a demise by your hand or another? Benkei is not here by his own will...I have no intention of harming him...on the other hand, you have been implicating yourself as a target for some time." Kojiro shook his head in a slight daze. Looking up slightly, his smile faded slightly, "...This war will be over just like that?...Then I will stay here until it ends, and I will keep fighting through the duration." Kojiro's heart sunk as he contemplated the significance of such a bold statement, "...Its unsightly for someone of your stature t be speaking like that...not to mention rude and unsavory. It does nothing but degrade your current impression...I am going to get going now. You have stood in my way long enough...I will strike you down as well if you continue to-" Kojiro's words were cut short as he choked, his eyes widened for a moment as he looked at the figure before him, his lips parted once again as he mouthed something, only a shaky breath was only thing that could be detected. Kojiro's knives once again paused and began to shake, one by one they began to violently explode in to shrapnel like before. A couple more knives shattered and then stopped. Kojiro looked down slightly once again, his quivering lips closed as he shook his head, tears slowly streamed down his face. The remaining knives fell in front of Kojiro and whipped up a small cloud of snow, revealing a polished Katana that floated in front of him, "....Disgusting....pathetic....and just like clockwork...It must be so easy...calling me a child and spitting in my face, looking down on my like everyone else....but here you are...Its....its so easy to just rip open old wounds...they are not yours. Nor do you care...therefore, disgusting things like you can just calmly tear away at the weakest points to make their direction known...But you....you are a special kind of Pathetic...you would stoop so low as to disturb the dead...I will admit this much...nobody has gone this far...despicable piece of trash." Kojiro's lips continued to quiver, not just Benkei, but Nathaniel as well. Kojiro hated it...the tears burned so much as he could not control them. He wanted to see Nat again...but not like this, he was being used....like a pawn to sway Kojiro's will. He did not know how it was happening, nor did he care. He wanted to hold him forever and never let him go, he wanted Raven to see him and perhaps show that he was alive, but something seemed off. There was no doubt it was him, summoned at the command of this person. Kojiro had never felt such pain, is anger was ripping him from the inside out, and his sadness. He had never so much wanted to make someone suffer for a transgression like this.
~~
Hitonomi kept pulling slightly at the crimson stained spires of ice, slowly working his impaled limb to freedom. As he was desperately trying to free himself from his own situation, he watched as Aoi's condition worseneed, this mess was spiraling out of control. As this was happening, a portal opened up nearby. Hitonomi cringed at the familiar oddity, but figured it was for the best. Grunting and cringing at the immense pain, he freed is limp arm form the ice. As soon as he was free, he did not even think twice to pick up Aoi with his other arm and make his way inside the portal. Upon realizing they were back near his supplies, he began working to put her in stable condition and ultimately get her out of the war zone, his previous statement was still true, there was nothing left here and she was leaving...if she liked it or not.
((Seb & Nat))
And like clockwork, here came the stream of words and odd ramblings as the Frozen Owl tried to counter attack Sebastian’s small, little comments. If this kid, this child, couldn’t take a little criticism then he certainly didn’t belong out here in New Exire. The dark haired male had known that The Fallen Phoenix was once nothing more than a band of people trying to find their way in life. He also knew how Raven had created the team as a make shift family to fill the empty whole her dearly departed family had left. Kojiro was nothing more than a surrogate brother for Raven who had since lost so much of her mind that she no longer wished to live. This so called ‘team’ was slowly crumbling and falling apart. Teams were meant to be strong and stable when in their final moments. Oh well, Sebastian couldn’t care lesser even if he really wanted to. “Unsightly for someone of my stature to speak like this? Rude? Unsavoury?” Oh this kid was a delight! “Well guess what kid. I don’t give a ******** that you find my choice of words unsightly. You have no idea what my ‘stature’ is either so stop acting like you do so that we may save some time” Sebastian chuckled at the Frozen Owls feeble and weak words. “I also do not care for your definition of friendship. I would love to say I paid attention to that part of your speech but I didn’t.” If Kojiro hadn’t had realised that Sebastian didn’t want to be there as much as himself, he should have now.
The daggers that Kojiro had summoned up soon began to shatter as he took in the shock of Nat’s appearance. The little glass like toys was not enough to even have the butler on edge. Like mentioned before, the Frozen Owl didn’t scare Sebastian. While Nat’s little show had knocked the Frozen Owl off-guard, it had only been for a short while. He was quick to recover with the most delicious looking expression of anger and sadness. The perfect mixture of both emotions. Sebastian’s features became twisted and dark as he simply expressed how much he was enjoying Koji’s current aura. “Ah but when did I call you a child, Kojiro-Kun? I have yet to spit in your face but I am not here to do that. Nor would Serena be happy if I did~” Sebastian lazily pulled out a stool from a portal and sat down upon it in such a bemused and carefree manner that Haka really wanted to punch him.
“Disturb the dead you say? Silly little Frozen Owl. The dead do not heed to my words or Keres’s so simply. They must be respected. If little Nathanial didn’t want to come here he wouldn’t be here now. When told he could see you and say a proper goodbye, well, the little guy was so excited~” Sebastian merely continued to smile as Kojiro tried his hardest to insult the tall butler. “Mhmm…I am sure no one has gone this far before…Though, you must take note that it is not me you are insulting but the puppet of the dead herself….” Sebastian took that moment to indicate to little Keres who’s current aura outmatched Koji’s in the ‘wanting to kill’ department.
As Sebastian and Kojiro exchanged bitter words of mocking and anger, Nathanial was busy inspecting the area in which they stood. Never before had he seen such a snow covered city! Ah the wonders that could be hidden beneath the pure white snow. His curious blue eyes sparkled with joy and wonder as he bent down to touch a small pile of snow. “Huh…..Warm …” The fact that he was not quite human meant that he didn’t feel things in the same way that the living did. Smiling nevertheless, Nat looked over at Benkei and blinked a few times “Hey…when did you get white hair?” Laughing light heartedly, Nat scoped up a ball of snow and threw it at Ben’s head “You look like you’ve seen a ghost….Oh…right, right…me…” The little blonde child rubbed the back of his head and grinned sheepishly at his foolish little comment “Sorry for not prank calling you lately. I’ve been busy with…uh…afterlife things…” Despite his condition Nat was remaining upbeat and cheerful. His innocent nature and ability to always see the good in life and people were rare traits to find together but it helped hi cope with things and even helped him cope in his final moments of life. “Hehe….Hmm?” Hearing his name, Nat looked from Sebastian to Kojiro. The Frozen Owl had changed a great deal…
“It’s true…I wanted to come here…” Nathanial spoke up in a strangely soft but determined tone of voice. “I wanted to see everyone again…” His eyes tinted by the golden glow that radiated from his body filled with salty tears as he smiled confidently at Kojiro “I am not a pawn…I have never been a pawn…I don’t think…” He broke of and for a moment he tapped his chin in thought “No! I am pretty sure I have never been used. I mean…If I wanted to go…I would vanish…Just like a real ghost!” Quickly looking to Benkei, Nat gave him an apologetic smile “Sorry Baka Ben…you don’t like ghosts, huh?”
With a short laugh, Nat turned his attention back onto Kojiro and sighed “Koji…I am sorry that I couldn’t stick around for as long as I had wanted to…I am angry with myself. Hehe…I had planned on doing so many things…I wanted to explore the world with you and I wanted us to be brothers forever…But…but…” Nat had to stop for a brief moment in order to compose himself “Look at me…I had all this time to prepare for this moment and..and I am in a right state…” Kicking a small blob of snow with a sandal covered foot, Nat stretched his arms outwards “Kojiro…This place here…this isn’t where I wanted us to end up…This isn’t…what Raven had told us we would have….this isn’t the vision we once dreamt up…And this isn’t what I want for you and her……I am scared for you and for the others…”
Within the rotating shell that was Raven's own enviable, magnificent power stood the Italian boy watching his opponents every move. Just as he would've her stance lowered as his own shockwave started to expand. Like a disease or a force of nature, the oscillating wall of purely violent energy continued to expand unhindered by anything. The floorboards, what remained of the roof, the floor and the wall behind the Owl of Life. Everything it seemed was falling victim to Raven's shared, yet still remarkably temperamental power. The woman's mouth opened once and briefly as if to speak. Whether or not she did, Roulin wouldn't be able to hear her. In this sphere of power, the ability to hear was a sense that was temporarily disabled by the resonate, low-pitched noise that came with the air's violent disturbance. Not much time passed between that gesture and her lowering into a defensive stance. The woman's eyes were as blue as the ocean and through those slits, Roulin could still stare down into the infinity they contained. Still, those very same eyes were filled with such tremendous power and will that they could easily turn any man's foundation to mere sediments. Because of such power, the Frenchwoman to Roulin had become something more than just an Owl nor a human. Over these years, she'd become a part of him. An enemy, a temporary partner, a teacher and a student. She was the embodiment of Will. Raven, to many other Owls as well, had become something to strive to attain. She was more of an idea now than she was an antagonizing force.
Yes, there was a twisted bond the two shared and it's constitution was something no other could hope to understand. Stepping stones on each others paths, occurrences the other couldn't deny enjoying. Even now, within the sphere of power that the woman on the other side was bombarding with her technique, Roulin couldn't imagine what tomorrow might be like knowing that this was Raven's last moment on this Earth. It was a thought he both embraced and silently resented. As his shockwave expanded more and more despite Raven's offensive, the Italian knew there was something amiss here...something small, but detrimental. "Catherine...." his voice, stern and cool, would go unheard by Raven, but not unseen. To her, his lips spoke a single word, but it would be up to her to decipher it and it's meaning. A larger attack was sent through the stable and motionless wall of force that Raven kept herself protected with. The large, lavender eyes filled to the brim with confidence widened almost instantly as the attack went out. Due to it's size, when it was 'cracked open' by Roulin's shield, he knew it would send him flying backwards out of the building. The same would apply for Raven though. Perhaps that was all Roulin needed to keep in mind as he made his decision. His eyes became slivers as he braced his body for the impact of his own shockwave and Raven's smaller one she shot.
On contact, his blender of a shield tore up Raven's attack as if it were paper in the blades of a helicopter. As a foreseen result though, this caused a massive explosion of volatile energy within the sphere Roulin controlled. The shockwave that had been expanding simply exploded and completely obliterated the floor both the Owls stood in. The Presidiomni, now bathed in incredible pain, was blown backwards just as he expected to be. The fall was long enough for him, but the stabbing cold snow below cushioned his drop. The long onyx strands of hair didn't remain in the dampened snow for long though. Roulin dizzily stood himself up and blew off the snow that covered him with a small shockwave. This crooked building withered by time and war wasn't going to remain in his way for long either. Unable to locate Raven due to his blurred vision, he took it upon himself to knock down the construct before him with a few well placed shockwaves. One destroyed the highest floor, another two did in the mid-section and lastly, a larger one barreled through the base and tore it to pieces like a vortex of some sort. If Raven was on the other side of the building, then she'd have to contest debris and the larger shockwave Roulin sent off to trip the already leveled building.
Kojiro was numb at this point, still refusing to look at the man before him. As the tall man's words became sharper and dripping with profanity, the Frozen Owl realized how this man only looked the part of formality, nothing more. Kojiro's tears kept streaming from the pain he wanted to just let his emotions go, but he still had control over himself and his powers As the butler's sharp words caused Kojiro's chest to tighten, he once again kept himself stable,"...I apologize...then I only ask the same when you pass judgement on my actions..." Kojiro tightened his fist...he was wasting time, what's more, he was wasting time with someone like this...They were going back and forth for not true reason, "...Telling me to grow up...trying to take me back to Japan?...You are wasting your breath at this point...Like I said before...words like yours oosed out of the lips of people who have tried to kill me...Why should I take heed to someone who displays such manner now?" Kojiro just wanted to keep moving, but like always, fate had a twisted way of derailing him.
The Frozen owl's hands unclenched at the mention of the albino's name...she had left him twice now, the first in the wake of a hearshattering betrayal. The second in a fateful encounter that almost killer her in a malestrom he Kojiro's instability...she left to be with her own family. This person knew about Serena and had enough nerve to still think it would impact him. Despite all the happy moments they shared, this moment in time, it only made his heart heavier. Seeing him take a seat on a stool showed his lack of consideration for this situation. He clearly was not here on his own accord, making Kojiro less willing to even pay mind to him.
Kojiro stood unfazed at the two new people in front of him, "...I don't care who I insult at this point...I have more reason to be here than you do...after all, you two are just dogs sent at the beck and call of your master. I would have been dead a while ago if not for the leash he clearly put on you two..." Their intentions were clearly dicated by the Blonde Owl he had met. His influence was pungent among the two, and considering Serena's alliance was with him and their family, it was only obvious that was how he knew her. These two clearly had no purpose here of their own accord, and even if they showed any aggression, Kojiro was at the point where he didn't fear the agony of death of the sensations of torture. Despite the sharp words he spat at the duo, he should have been thanking them...but the timing was terrible. Everything that had happened so far had been breaking him down, he scrambled to find himself once again to be broken...again and again. Shattered with loss, betrayal, and immense amounts of pain he had endured through the war. Once again, another person has attempted to use their cold demeanor and conceded attitude, fully aware of Kojiro's state. All he would do is strike back over and over again, stumble to his feet and repeat the process. Kojiro now stood in front of Nathanial once again, he was not hallucinating. However he still felt a burning pain when he wanted nothing but happiness. Nathanial came with these two...so this only meant...he wanted to see Kojiro...but.
Kojiro's shoulders dropped, he was tired. Once more, he would let his guard down...only once more. Kojiro shook his head and looked up, revealing a broken smile, but once again, for a small glimpse it seemed as though not a moment had passed since they last talked together. However, his tired eyes and tearstained face gave away the facade, "...I...am happy to see you...I'm so happy..." Kojiro's glassy eyes reflected the raw emotion that he was feeling at that moment, "You shouldn't have been taken away...they shouldn't have done that to you....It wasn't fair!" he cried, closing his eyes and clenching his fist, wanting so much to have been there for him when he needed to save Nat. Kojiro sobbed as he let the katana fall to the ground, "It wasn't supposed to turn out like this...so many people have died Nathanial...and all we did was step past them..." Kojiro looked at him,"...All of it is wrong! This should have never gotten to this point! I'm scared too...Raven has become different....her and Benkei are all that is left..." Kojiro said in a choked voice, "I don't want to lose them too Nathanial....please....please listen...everyone wants to fight..." Kojiro looked at his hands as they still gave a cold blue aura, "these abilities..." Kojiro looked at him with pleading eyes, If Nathanial was alive...if Raven was safe and willing to walk away from all of this...he would not think twice about going to Japan. He would give his own life for such a request. This would have all been different. Kojiro wiped his eyes and looked at him with an unfaltering gaze, "...I'm scared too....Nat...I want to save her...I don't want to lose her too...I want to open her eyes no matter what it cost me!" Kojiro clenched his fists again, restraining his powers from lashing out. There was nothing he could do but helplessly hold himself back,"...I need you here with me Nathanial...I need you to help me. I don't want this anymore either...If she keeps this up she will die too!" he cried once again, the snow around him shifted slightly as he sobbed. Kojiro wiped his eyes, "I don't want you to go...I don't want Benkei to leave again...I...I.." Kojiro fell to his knees, "I want to see Raven happy again..." Kojiro had been fighting for so long , desperately trying to see the end of this fight, always trying to be strong. Unleashing onslaught after onslaught of winter. He forgot what it was like to cry, what was a small steady stream was now an uncontrollable emotion that blurred his vision with tears. The frozen Owl shakily continued to speak," I could fight for an eternity and never get some things back...things taken for granted...I keep struggling...but...I just want things to go back to the way they were..." Kojiro's uncontrolled sobs kept him from saying anymore.In truth, there was nothing else he could say...becaue at that moment...
That was all he wanted.
