"Then sit right here." A maid carried in a pitcher of hot water and a large bowl, as well as several washcloths and a tiny bar of soap. Phoebe filled the bowl with water, then started to remove Dragon's clothes. Tears came to his eyes at the sight of the wounds, but he persevered and never once stopped in his work, even when he began cleaning the scorch marks and could smell the burnt flesh. "Oh Dragon," breathed the redhead, lower lip trembling as he washed the man he loved so much. It killed him to see him in pain, and Phoebe knew that, as soon as Dragon recovered, he wouldn't be able to deny the younger male anything ever again.

The younger man cried out when the first wound was touched. No matter how gentle the touch was, his body lurched in pain, which made the bones ache even more. He grit his teeth and hissed in agony as water merged with his bloody and dead skin. He squirmed, having to force himself to stay still so that they could work on his wounds, but it was so hard.
When Dragon opened his grass green eyes, he noticed the tears in Phoebe's eyes and his quivering lip. He attempted a smile and reached up with his free hand to caress the man's cheek. "It's okay." he said, wincing against when a scorch mark was touched. "A-As long as you're safe."

Phoebe paused to touch the hand on his cheek, looking into the ever-changing eyes he'd fallen in love with. "I would rather live the rest of my life engulfed in flames than see you like this," he whispered as tears fell from his eyes and down his porcelain cheeks. "To hell with my safety. This is torture, Dragon, and I'm so frightened-" He cut himself off, shaking his head and returning to his work. He needed to get Dragon as clean as possible so that the doctor could get to work quickly when he arrived.

If he didn't have that side then that demon wouldn't have come in the first place. He winced against as his bite mark was touched.

His free hand moved to Dragon's hair, brushing away the thick locks from his forehead. "Monsters can't love, Dragon. but you do, and your love is strong and beautiful."

Dragon stared into Phoebe's eyes before smiling, his own eyes turning purple. He was so lucky to come across someone so nice and sweet. If he hadn't of met him, maybe he really would have been a mindless monster, eating everyone he met without even realizing it while hating the world for abandoning him. In a way, this man in front of him saved him.
A knock came at the door and soon the doctor could be seen entering. Dragon looked over at him and gave him an unsure look. Just what was going to be done to his wounds? How bad were they?

Phoebe stood at the sight of the doctor, nodding at him before smiling down at Dragon. "Don't worry, he's just going to apply some salve to your burns and sew up your bite. You'll be alright." He bent to kiss the man's forehead, then his lips, then stood and turned to leave for the room next door. "I'll be back when he's done," assured Phoebe, knowing that the doctor hated to be crowded during his work.
Walking into Spike's room, the redhead strode over to the bed and sat beside it, pulling his knees up under his chin and wrapping his arms around his legs. The very thought of those wounds made him want to burst into tears again.

Spike was sleeping. At least, he'd like to have been, but having always been a light-sleeper, he woke to almost every noise made.
When he sensed the presence in the room, he opened his eyes to see his beloved angel returning to his side. Now that was a sight he'd definitely enjoy waking up to. Wait, no, not with that expression on Phoebe's face.
"You're upset?" Spike asked quietly when the angel began expressing a forlorn expression.

It doesn't matter how fast he heals, I still have to see him like this. I'd rather be blind." He shifted his gaze to Spike. "I don't want to unload this all on you."

Spike shrank a little at Phoebe's words. He was upset because the Wendigo was harmed, and the Wendigo was harmed... because of him. He couldn't exactly make himself pay, and seeing his beautiful angel cry because of his actions was painful enough. "I understand." he said, desperate to stop the man's sadness. "I know how it feels to see someone you care about hurt." It wasn't the same kind of hurt the host must be thinking, but it was probably best he didn't know that.
