Wii-h8rs are not cool. You only bought two games for it, and you judge. 3
I'll give you a list of Wii exclusives (some still yet to be released) worth keeping the system for that you now passed up on.
Brawl (naturally)
House of the Dead 2 and 3
Mario Kart Wii
Wii Sports
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
No More Heroes
Super Paper Mario
Pokemon Battle Revolution (debatable)
Geometry Wars
Just to name a few.
*awaits opposition, already knowing Bio has a trump*
sweatdrop So... What you're suggesting is that I buy all those games that I'm not interested in, spend... Possibly $300 on them... Then find out that I don't like them, which I already have answers for:
Brawl - Probably good, but definitely as overrated as Halo 3.
House of the Dead 2 and 3 - If Umbrella Chronicles got boring, why wouldn't this?
Mario Kart Wii - Don't play racing games.
Wii Sports - Got stale.
Zelda: Twilight Princess - Couldn't get into it.
Super Mario Galaxy - Pretty game, but I don't play platformers anymore. If I can't bring myself to buy Ratchet and Clank for PS3, then Mario Galaxy is definitely out.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Don't play First Person Shooters.
No More Heroes - The one game I think would be interesting.
Super Paper Mario - Never got into the paper games.
Pokemon Battle Revolution (debatable) - Pokemon hasn't been good since Gold. Hasn't been Great since Red/Blue.
Geometry Wars - Possibly something good or people with ADD, what with the flashing colors. But if I can focus on games like Metal Gear Solid, then clearly, I don't have ADD.
So I dish out $300 for them, be disappointed, then trade them in at EB games for... What? $70 max? That would be just stupid.
Look, point is, I went to EB games many times since I got my Wii, and it alway came down to, "What do I want more? This Wii game, or this PS3 game?" "This Wii game or this PSP game?" etc. And the Wii hasn't won once.
In fact, the only reason I'd keep my Wii, is for Zelda Ocarina of Time, that I downloaded for it. But that's like saying, I paid $270 just so that I can play Ocarina of Time, and as great as it is, I'm not made of money.
Point is, I BOUGHT it, and I DID buy and play three games for it. And I lost interest. So why should it just sit there collecting dust, when I can sell it to my friend for $270 with all the games. Sure, I'm already losing a lot of profit on it, but that's $270 that I can spend on more PS3 and PSP games, among other things like Blu-Ray movies, and CDs which I do pay for unlike the rest of the world.
Right now, I'm weighing my options, and that $270 is looking a hell of a lot better than my Wii.
I'm not very proud of this, in retrospect, but the only reason I bought the Wii was for Umbrella Chronicles. I figured, "I'll find something else for it. I'm sure there's tons of great games." But all the great games for it are first party. And I'm just not as interested in Mario or Pokemon as I used to be. I don't mean to say that they're kiddy, but I've grown out of them.
So, since I'm over Umbrella Chronicles, and as far as I'm concerned, I don't bother considering it canon (because Sergei is a douche, and they screwed up on many other things.) Fact is, buying UC was a rushed decision, and I regret it. And if I regret buying the one game that I bought the console for, then I think that takes the point home, no?
And don't you dare call me a hater. I bought a Wii. I gave it a god honest chance. And I was disappointed. So until you buy a PS3 and try its exclusives, don't you dare call me a hater, Canas.
