Dante nodded, taking the genjutsu scroll and giving him back the Raiton and afterimage scrolls. He then opened the genjutsu scroll, scanning down the scroll for a genjutsu technique. He finally found one called
Magen: Narakumi No Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Vision of Hell Technique). He found this technique interesting, and decided he would try it out on Sonic, hoping he wouldn't mind. He doubted he would, considering he had given him permission to use these genjutsu techniques on him.

Dante then focused his chakra again. He knew genjutsu was completely different from ninjutsu and taijutsu, due to the fact that this was focused on mental harm, not bodily harm. You needed to use more of your brain than your muscles to use genjutsu. Once Dante had focused enough, he attempted the genjutsu on Sonic. Sonic seemed unaffected. "I'm waiting." He said, obviously unware Dante had just tried. Dante sighed, and prepared to try the technique again.

Dante focused his chakra into his brain once more, preparing to assault sonic's brain once more. He used the technique agan, and Sonic's eyes widened in horror. He was envissioning his worst nightmare before his very eyes. After a while, Dante dispelled the genjutsu, satisfied in what he had learned. This genjutsu would suffice for now, but he was already looking down the scroll for another one.

Dante was reading down the scroll once more, looking for another gennin genjutsu that would be worth learning. He found another that seemed necessary to learn, and it was called Meisai no Jutsu (Camouflage Technique). If he could use camouflage, it would be useful for charging up some of the jutsu that took time to charge. He would learn some techniques that took time, therefore this skill would be useful. He put the scroll down, and got ready to use the neccessary hand signs.

Dante began the handsigns. After quite a few, he finished, his chakra wrapping around him and trying to make him invisible. It did, but only partially. Dante was flickering in and out of sight, but not completely invisible. Sonic shook his head, indicating Dante needed to try the camouflage genjutsu once again. Dante sighed, but decided he'd give it one last try.

Dante flashed all of the handsigns required for the camouflage genjutsu once more, and upon finishing, felt the familiar veil of chakra wrap itself around him. Sonic looked confused for a moment, wondering where the hell Dante went. Dante got an idea suddenly. He snuck right up behind Sonic, and tapped his shoulder. Sonic turned around hastily, and Daante was already on the other side of him, before he tapped his shoulder once more. Dante then walked up the wall, uncamouflaged himself, and said, "Looking for me?" Directly above Sonic.

The fear of becoming something you don't want to be..
She was progressing steadily, and she wondered how long it would take her to nail all the academy level jutsus. She saw the other boy starting at genjutsu, which she craved for to learn as well. But one thing at a time, so she would work down this scroll first.
Katon: Fukumen no Jutsu (Fire Release: Veil Technique) was the next technique and Else figured that if she would check if it worked, she had to keep her eyes open and see if if she was momentarily blinded by the technique. She formed the seals the scroll described and a flash of flames appeared between her hands. Else kept her eyes open, and was blinded for a moment. Fear spread inside her, as she was now not able to see or speak. Lucky, the blackness faded to dots and then she could see perfectly again. The next time she did that technique, she wouldn't look in it.
Else looked around to find a pile of unwritten paper. She would need it for the next jutsu, as she possibly couldn't set a table or chair on fire. She dragged the pile of paper to a table and put a small bottle of water beside it, to put it out again. The scroll said she should simply snap her fingers to perform Katon: Tanebi no Jutsu (Fire Release: Cinder Technique) and ignite a fire on something. Another very basic skill. She snapped her fingers a few times before she could form the spark the jutsu required. As soon as she nailed that, the pile of papers caught fire. Else quickly put it out with the water from the bottle. There was just one jutsu on her list left, and then she could proceed to the genin level jutsu.
The last jutsu, Katon: Houka Hira no Jutsu (Fire Release: Flaming Palm Technique), was quite similar to Katon: Tanebi no jutsu. Now she had to form handseals and not create a spark by flicking her fingers, but an actual flame that she could push into something or someone. It took her a while to produce a steady flame in the palm of her hand. To test how much burning power it had, she waved her free hand through the flame. It was only a little warm, and a black stripe appeared on her hand, thus nothing really damaging. It was good for lighten up a dark place for some time or setting something on fire.

The fear of becoming something you don't want to be..
She had now worked down all academy level jutsu, so the mute genin could get a start with the genin jutsu now. Else decided she would only learn the ones that she thought were necessary and then go ask for the genjutsu scroll. She knew that was her strongest point. Nevertheless, she began practising Katon: Ni, the second stage of Katon jutsu. Reading the scroll, she saw she had to be able to perform a bigger flame than with the Katon: Ichi. It didn't sound so troublesome to her. (1/4)
She began with a regular Ichi, and then tried to expand it to her other finger as well. At first, the flame didn't even show some growth, but after some time, she noticed the flame on her finger was flickering as if it was trying to expand itself. It didn't succeed in capturing her middle finger in the jutsu, so Else cut off the stream of chakra and got herself some rest before she tried again. Focussing too much on something tired her very quickly (2/4)
After five minutes, the genjutsu girl started on the jutsu again. She had grabbed a bite or two and drunk the remainder of her water bottle and was ready to go at it again. She concentrated on her chakra and expanded it slighlty. Now there was a small flame on each finger, but she needed to get a big one on both of them, to actually do some damage to her opponent. Not that it would be much, but giving small burns could wear a ninja down when given in the right places, places where muscles stretch and thus hurt.(3/4)
The little kunoichi formed the seals again, and to her surprise a big flame appeared on both her fingers. She had a little struggle to keep it that way and taking caution that the flame didn't drag out more chakra then needed, but she had performed the Katon: Ni. In just a few tries. The former orphan glowed with pride. She was just as good as all those ninja who had been practising ninjutsu all their life.(4/4)

Dante looked at the scroll carefully. He didn't want to make mistakes and have to take even longer to learn the jutsu. It would be a long and ardous task, but if he could take down an entire forest with it, it would be worth it. After he was done reading the scroll, analyzing every aspect and even putting himself into the correct position a few times to ensure he was getting the maximum potential, he decided to actually try the jutsu.

Dante felt the chakra inside him, and began drawing it from him once more. Due to the fact he was a ninjutsu type ninja, these types of skills were easier for him to do. This skill would take quite a while for him to charge, as it was a very powerful technique. He was charging and charging, putting in as much chakra as he could for a good result. hopefully.

Once Dante finished having the chakra well up inside him, he prepared himself. This should be a jutsu with massive recoil, so he knew he had to keep his arms firm. Once he was done, his hands were glowing with an intense light. He attempted to shoot all of the lightning out of his hands at once and.... nothing happened. Nothing at all. He expected this, as this was a high ranked jutsu. even if he could have gotten it his first time, he wouldn't have felt very accomplished.

Dante welled up the chakra inside him once more, preparing for another massive lightning attack. This technique required massive amounts of chakra and if he hadn't already done several rounds of chakra concentration, he would have felt extremely tired. He was putting exactly as much chakra as needed into these jutsu, and nothing more. He was almost done charging for the second time, and was ready to go for a second fire off.

Dante was almost finished charging now. His hands were glowing with an extreme light, and all of the lightning inside of them was making them shake. He had to let the jutsu off soon, before he ended up like, short circuiting or something. He locked and prepared his arms once more. He didn't expect much again, but it never hurt to be prepared.

Once Dante had so much chakra in his arms his hands were almost literally jerking, he prepared himself to let it fire. His hands were glowing with a blinding light, and he set it off. Nothing happened except for a rather small bolt of electricity. He sighed, but was not discouraged. He eventually stopped the bolt, ready to try it again.

Dante shook off his last few failed attempts. So what if he failed? Get over it. It's bound to happen a lot, especially with such a strong lightning arrow technique. He pulled his fingers down, contemplating the move from a different angle. Perhaps all he needed was a different outlook on this jutsu to get this lightning arrow technique down. He highly doubted it, but it was a small light of hope.

Dante sighed, preparing to charge up his chakra to use it in the form of another lightning attack. He felt the chakra flowing through his body once more, how it was his lifeblood. He knew that everybody needed chakra in them to survive. He would hate to think of what would happen if he ever ran out of chakra. He shook these gloomy thoughts away. He was supposed to befocused on training right now, not thoughts of death by chakra deficiency. He berated himself for wasting time. He was supposed to be learning jutsu as fast as he could. He then prepared himself for another try at this lightning technique.

Dante pulled all thoughts of chakra death out of his mind and started charging his chakra. He felt the chakra in his veins, ready to shoot soon. He tried to put in the right amount of chakra into this jutsu. Not enough chakra, and it would fizzle out. Too much chakra, and it would still fizzle out. He knew he had to get it right if he wanted the lightning jutsu, so he really focused.

Dante was charging the cchakra in his hands, feeling like a chemist trying to pour the right amount of a chemical into a vial. He could start to feel the lightning in his hands. Soon, his hands were glowing bright with the lightning chakra charged in his hands. He once again braced his arms, knowing it wouldn't work out well if his arms were relaxed in the slightest bit. He was still charging the chakra, trying to get an extremely accurate count, which was getting easier for him due to chakra concentration that he had learned.

Now that Dante had the chakra necessary for the lightning arrow technique charged in his arms, he was waiting it out. He knew it was crucial for a jutsu like this to be fired off at the right moment. Once again, he waited until his hands were jittery with the energy he had in them. Once this happened, he prepared for the release of all of the pent up chakra in his hands

Now that Dante's hands were shaking as violently as an autumn leaf in a texas tornado, he prepared to set off the jutsu. He let out the chakra and except for a Crack!Sizzle!Pop! sound, there was nothing in the slightest to even show he had attempted to use a jutsu. He shook his head, puzzled at this. If it had formed a small bolt of lightning before, why not now? He questioned this for a while, then desided that he needed to sit down and contemplate this mystery of his lack of ability to produce the jutsu.

Dante looked around for an extremely short moment, then strode slowly over to an empty desk on the left side of the classroom, towards the back. He thought for quite some period of time, still unable to fathom the reason it was taking so long to get this damn jutsu down. He had tried over charging the jutsu, undercharging the jutsu, and even a happy medium. He came to only one conclusion. He needed a rest, no matter how short the rest was.

Now that he had come to the rather obvious conclusion that a rest was in order, he couldn't believe he hadn't thought of it before. He had been practicing jutsu all day, and several of those jutsu weren't even close to being near his standard jutsu he should be learning. He had been learning chuunin jutsu all day. Sure, he had learned quite a few gennin and even a few academy level ninjutsu, and had taken a break to learn some taijutsu and ninjutsu. He stopped thinking on the desk, remembering that if he stretched out on the floor, he would get far better results in his rest, as the chakra would flow better through his body.

Dante slowly got off of the rather uncomfortable light brown wooden desk and layed down, stretching himself against the light brown carpet of the mist ninja academy floor. Funny, they were about to start a world war, and he was in a different country. He resolved that this would be his last jutsu he learned here before making his way back to his nice and comfortable village of konahagakure, also known as the village hidden in the leaves. He liked that village much more than the rain village. Don't get him wrong, he found the rain village interesting, but it couldn't compare to the comfiness of the ichiraku ramen shop.

Now that Dante was resting, he resolved to stop. He had been sitting on the floor of the mist ninja academy, and realized he was getting a little too comfortable. If he got too comfortable, he would end up losing all of the progress he had gotten on this jutsu. He slowly stood up, still feeling slightly replenished from his rest. He shook himself a few times, ready for one or two more goes at this lightning technique, which he was determined to get down.

Dante remembered the other times he had tried this technique, and decided to try something different. But first, he had to go through with the ardous task of charging all of that chakra back up. Funny how something as simple as pulling electrical chakra from his veins could be so complicated. He stopped with all of his philosophical contemplating, ready to start the task of draining chakra from his veins.

Dante began pulling chakra from his very veins once more. Extracting chakra from his veins was getting simpler and simpler due to the fact that he had gone through with chakra concentration. Sure, it was a pain in the a**, but it had worked out in the end. He was still charging chakra from his veins into his hands. He was siphoning the chakra at a fast rate, ready for another try at this. He just wanted to be done with this technique already.

Dante could feel the immense presence of the chakra in his very hands now, particularly in his palm area. It wasn't long before his hands started to glow once more. It was as if the chakra was personifying itself inside of his hands. He once again, waited for his hands to become extremely jittery and shaky before firing off the lightning arrow jutsu technique once more.

Dante was waiting for his hands to become shaky. He didn't have to wait long before his hands were gesticulating, almost uncontrollably. He suddenly realized that blasting a hole through the classroom wall wouldn't be such a good idea. At the last second, he shifted his aim over to the window. He let off the jutsu, and there was a blinding flash of gold. The lightning seemed to be never ending from his hands, and would have annihilated anything in it's way. When he was finished, Dante shakily put down the raiton scroll. Sonic could have it when he wanted it, but he had to leave. Now. He teleported out of the village using the new teleportstion jutsu he had learned.

Since none of the men paid attention to her, Else learned silently on from the scroll untill Sonic would say something, or she would need a rest. Katon: Yojin Bunshin no Jutsu (Fire Release: Ember Clone Technique) was the next technique she would attempt to learn. She hoped to learn it very soon, because Bunshin were genjutsu based and were quite easy for her. However, it seemed that this bunshin had an elemental base.
She worked through the necesary seals for the jutsu and applied a bunshin kind of jutsu thing. Three perfect bunshins came out, but they were no fire clones. Just regular bunshins that didn't explode if you punched them or threw something at them (1/4)
Else figured she had to try and weave fire chakra through the jutsu. How she would do that was a mystery, but she tried anyway. Hands flowed through the seals and her chakra did as well. She tried to keep the flaming part of her chakra in mind as she created bunshins. She was so going up into the jutsu that she closed her eyes for concentration. When she opened them, there was a bunshin with fire chakra. Unlucky, the bunshin was on fire itself. It had something horrid to see herself being burned down.(2/4)
Trying again, Else made sure she didn't set her bunshin on fire. She knew it would take weeks to get that image of her mind. It reminded her of the raid in her old village, where she had been happy in the orphanage. Many people were burned that day. But as a ninja, she couldn't afford herself to think about it much. So she continued on with the jutsu. When she thought her chakra was steady enough, she executed the justu. One fire clone was standing beside her. To test if it fully worked, Else took some distance from it and threw a kunai at it. It exploded in a burst of fire, which pleased the cute kunoichi.(3/4)
Now the only task she had was to create at least three of those for a better attack. She concentrated, made sure she had no flaws in her chakra control and before she knew it, three clones appeared. She tried to detonate them on her will, and to her suprise it worked. Now she really had a somewhat offensive move and she didn't have to rely on her weapons any more.(4/4)

There was only one genin move left that she wanted to learn, the rest she deemed not necessary, since she was going to specialize in genjutsu anyway. She took a deep breath, as she tried to spit out fire for the Katon Housenka no Jutsu (Fire Release: Mythical Fire Flower Technique). It looked a lot like a technique she learned earlier, only this time she had to seperate the fire into multiple small flames that flew at her target. When the fire came out, it looked too much like a short fireball, so she had to try it again. (1/4)
Again she tried it, carefully ripping the parts of the flame apart into multiple small flames. After a few tries she got them apart, but they didn't do what she wanted them to do. The jutsu said the flames would be aimed at one target, but the flames she had produced were literally flying in all directions, leaving small burns marks on tables and the floor. She even had to duck a few times before she managed to sever the chakra funneled into the jutsu(2/4)
Being more carefull this time, she spat out the blasts of fire with chakra still attached to them, so she could control them. She aimed for a dummy doll at the other end of the classroom and set it on fire. Else hoped she wouldn't be blamed for that, it was training after all. (3/4)
Last but not least she had to be able to hide shuriken inside her blasts, so she gathered enough chakra to perform the jutsu and held three shuriken in each hand. In the first try, her timing was a bit off, but when she practised more, she was able to hide 5 of the 6 shuriken inside the blasts from her mouth and hit the target with them. She continued, untill she managed to hide all 6 of them. Then she turned to Sonic and began doing handsigns again.(4/4)

The fear of becoming something you don't want to be..
Is the war going to be that big and dangerous?, Else motioned to Sonic when she accepted the scroll. As usual she started out with the most simple moves on it.
First was the drunken sight technique. Since there was no one around, Else got herself a mirror to practise with. She formed the needed handseals and released the built up chakra into the genjutsu. Suddenly her vision started to become double and swayed all around. It was very hard to focus herself at one point, so she quickly disbanded the jutsu she had just learned (1/1)
Next was Fukushi no Jutsu (Double Vision Technique), which was basically the same as the previous jutsu. Only this time, the target should be able to focus somewhat, because not everything was blurry. She ran through the seals quickly, knowing that she had very little time to learn this stuff. And she didn't want to be left without chakra right away as well. The mirror had doubled, and so had the faces in it. When Else looked around, everything was doubled there. It confused her a lot, but she managed to let go of the jutsu and return everything to normal. (1/1)
