Koru is totally up for battling with friends. Well strangers that wanna battle with her too she'd just hear the word "battle" and go "YES!" so she got no preference when it comes to it

If it is 1 vs 1, then it won't be a problem
Tag battle is different. Partnering with familiar people means better odds.
As it means they can strategize and cooperate rather than do it on the fly.

Hmm . . . It will be a good learning experience, for cyril too as he has never teamed up with fire type before only against
He will appreciate having one as ally instead of foe for once.
Fire is the bane of his team right now, so pairing up with fire type gives him better odd in the tourney.

There isn't too much a problem with fire if it isn't too wide range.
At their current level at least.
Beside fire typing means they can charge into icy wind just fine.

There isn't much to strategize except of sharing what moves their pokemon knows and how they like to use them, so they don't get in each other's way.
Then set up some code to quickly coordinate, like what pokemon to take down first or if the other want distraction/ cover.

Yep like Sneasel could make use of Cyndaquil's smokescreen to surprise attack. Well also with how big Koru's personality is to Cyril's quiet nature right now communication needs to be open and they need to be aware. Tag battles are definitely making a lot to think about XD

Oooh, that will be fun.
Sneasel has keen eye, so even if he got hit with smokescreen, it will do nothing *cackles*
Throw in Taunt and we are ruining teamworks
An enraged pokemon always throw plan awry
I have always wanted to put Taunt to a good use.
I am only missing payback, combined with taunt that is going to hurt.
That's a move that i need to send in training montage request in.

As much fun it is, i still need to wait for White's reply since i ask her first about partnering.
Though if she doesn't want to, koru and cyril can?

This tournament is going to be fun.
