Kuro, who was a completely harmless angelic furball, flashed into Kabina near Beginer. He tried to explain that Mecha Main Street was hunks of metal now, and that Erk and Brett needed her help to rebuild it.

Kuro landed on Beginer's head and in a flash of light, they were gone. [To Mecha Main Street]

A grey puff of smoke outside the gates preceded the shape of a tall, painfully thin man in a three piece suit, overcoat, and top hat all in shades of grey.
The man was a study in monochrome. Not black and white, but endless shades of grey.

He walked slowly, feeling his way through the clouds gingerly with a grey cane. His appearance, lacked the energy it usually bore, replaced instead by a weariness. He felt his way like the blind man he was, no sight through his hands.

This was home.
But home, no longer.

He had grown up here, his childhood filled with happy memories of this place. His face moved from its weary expression to one of deep concentration. Seconds later it fell again. He had lost that skill too.

There was no more flight for Ahfos Nafd Sem. He was now a blind man.

If it weren't for that one event, the "accident" that claimed his sight, what would have been?

Ahfos Nafd Sem reached the Gates. He stopped there and left his name. The Barrier was closed, after all. Ansem left once more in a sad puff of swirling grey.

Aki hurried around Kabina, the city finally beginning to take shape once more. She gathered some papers from her office and handed them to the little green, four winged bird on her windowsill. The bird cheeped and flew off down toward the Byako city grounds.

As it flew swiftly through the still destructed area of the city, something outside the barrier caught the sharp, green, eagle eye. Papers held firmly in the strong claws the tiny bird flew a circle around the lanky man's head before he disappeared in a puff grey smoke.

With a squawk of insult the small green bird carried it's load of papers the rest of the way to the newly opened Embassy.

Aki ruffled through some important papers at her desk. Kabina was beginning to take shape once more, soon it would be time to pull away the barrier, if all went well, that is. If something happened though, then the barrier's destruction would have to be postponed.

The angel leader folded her wings neatly on her back and collapsed into her chair in sheer boredom. "That is it!" She yelled to the empty confines of the castle. The place had become so empty and lonely in recent months.

Aki stood, shoving her chair back as she did so. She stomped over to the window and threw open the shutters, much more forcefully than usual. But, there was no one around to notice the girl's apparent annoyance with her confines of duty.

It was a wide window, wide and tall. Large enough for a full grown angel with mature wings to fly out of easily. Aki jumped up to the sill of the window and let her body fall forward to dive into the open air.

Her wings were pressed tight to her body as she descended through the clouds at a heart wrenching rate. Finally before the city's roof tops came too close Aki let her wings open and let wind fill them. As wind filled under the feathers it pulled Aki out of her decent. She glided above the city for a while, before coming to a graceful landing before the silver gates. As her feet lightly touched the ground she closed her wings and drifted to a stop, gliding on air.

Slowly the movement in her clothes calmed and the playful winds circling around Aki left her to the stillness that could only be found by the silver gates of Kabina.

CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
A semi-loud clanking noise could be heard coming from the other side of the gates. No hand was visibly pounding on the massive silever doors, but it was obviously implied in the most tasteful manner.

The clanging on the silver gates brought Aki from her trance, and her feet touched the cloudy ground again. Lost in her daydream she'd been floating above the puffy white clouds, body hanging gently in the air. The noise brought her back to her feet, however, and Aki frowned, puzzled.

There was a little latch in the gate that would open a small window, that would let her speak to whoever was on the other side of the gate. Reaching out delicately, she opened the little window.

"Can we help you?" She asked gently, her angelic voice carrying over softly.

"You managed to last time."
A handsome face peered back through the window at her.
"Ki? It's me."

"Ansem! Wow, you're back!" Aki smiled back at the kind face. "Hang on and I'll have the gate pulled back. It might take me a minute, be patient." She didn't fail to notice he was missing his blind fold but made no comment, it wasn't a big deal. She'd only seen him with it once, anyhow.

Aki stepped back and closed the little window. She ran to the side and the wheel that opened the gates. Pulling on it, it turned easily and opened the gates inward. "Welcome back, Ansem! How have you been?" Aki headed back to greet him by the gate.

Ansem frowned in that soft way of his.
"Are your cousins around? There is something of grave importance I must ask them."
PostPosted: Wed May 23, 2007 7:02 pm
"My cousins?" Aki's surprise was evident in her frown. "They're in the state prison, beneath the castle. What's so important to have to deal with them?" Aki was almost upset, but she knew he had his reasons.

"Follow me, I have them in a place where only I have access." She started walking, her light lavender gown and blue ribbons flowing out behind her. Stray feathers off her wings decorating the sky. It didn't take long to get to the prison entrance. "Come on." She motioned him to follow, without looking back at him.

"Thank you..."
Ansem inclined his head slightly as he followed the far shorter angel.
"... For everything."
