A few minutes later Kanti trotted back up to the den with the squirrel, as well as a mouse. “What was that sigh as you walked up the hill for?” she asked through a mouthful of fur.

Kanti put down the squirrel and mouse and walked over to Sanoskue. “Sanoskue, I know that, I was just teasing you okay? Don’t be upset with me.” She ducked her head sadly and gently nudged his muzzle with her nose.

“You know I am too,” she replied. She smiled gently and stretched before lying down and beginning to eat the squirrel. “Sorry,” she muttered between bites. “I’m really hungry.”
