The head chef looked up from the vegetables he was cutting. "No, not at all," he said. "So, I hear the big day's tomorrow." Of course, he would have known about it since Elizabeth arrived, he knew just about everything that went on at the palace.

Elizabeth's cheeks gain a small pink to them as she blushed. "Yea it is I suppose." she said as she leaned against the counter slightly. She looked around and them plucked a apple out of a bowl. She threw it up in the air and then caught it in her hands. Her eyes stared at the red apple in her hands. "I can't believe it though. It's so... It's just, overwhelming I suppose would be the best word for it." she said as she then took a bit out of the apple.

The chef chuckled in amusement as he continued chopping. "Indeed, it is," he said. "But I guarantee, it'll be the best day of your life."

Elizabeth swallowed the chewed apple before she spoke. "Everyone is so sure of it, but for some reason... I don't know, but I feel like something bad is going to happen." she didn't know what it was, but she felt at unease about the wedding. Maybe she was getting coldfeet or something. She hoped that was it, and not something else.

"Don't worry milady," the chef told her. "There will be extra guards there to make sure Donovan behaves himself." Donovan was too clever to act out on the wedding day but you never could tell with him.

Elizabeth swirled the apple in her hand as she thought about the chef's words. "Actually, he isn't what is making me uneasy. Maybe I am getting cold feet or something stupid like that." she let out a humorless laugh and she made her way toward the door. She took another bit out of her apple and looked back at the chef with nervous eyes.

The chef smiled warmly. "Everything's going to be ok," he told her. "At least you like the person you're marrying. In a lot of arranged marriages, the two people don't even know each other until the day."

Elizabeth reddened at his words. She swallowed loudly and then she stared at the door. She mumbled some words that could not be heard as she waved and exitted the kitchen. Once out of sight of the chef she made her way up the stairs and toward her room as she munched on her apple. Many thoughts ran through her head. She wanted to figure out why she felt so uneasy, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She closed her eyes as she walked, focusing on her thoughts and nothing else at the moment.

The door to her bedroom had been replaced with a golden-brown oak door that shone beautifully. There were floral designs carved into the wood, making it look even more beautiful. Theo was in his room, reading a book. He set in the window, his back against one side of the window with his feet against the other side. The actually window itself was open, pushed out like little doors.

As Elizabeth opened the door she didn't notice that the door was there until her eyes opened and her mind finally regustered that the door was not suppose to be there. She looked at the beauty of it. She smiled warmly at it, as she sight of Theo putting it up just for her. She felt small butterflies in her stomach at her thought. She looked over at Theo's door for a moment. She threw away the core of her apple away and then slowly made her way to his door. Once there her throut knotted up and her hand was frozen in the air. She swollowed the lump in her throut and she knocked lightly three times.

"Come in!" Theo finished up the paragraph he was reading before closing the book, making sure to mark his page. Most people would think it was quite dangerous to sit in a window at least forty feet above the ground, but he wasn't worried.

Elizabeth gulped and then she grapped the knob and turned in and stepped into the doorway. "I...I just w-wanted to say thanks f-for fixing the door." she said. 'Why the heck am I freaken stuttering!' she yelled at herself in her head as she gave him a weak smile. "I didn't mean to interupt you or anything." she said, shuffling her feet.

Theo looked over at the door as it opened. He was surprised by how pleased he felt when he saw Elizabeth standing there, but he didn't let it show. "You're very welcome," he said, smiling. "And, don't worry. All you interrupted was my reading. Nothing important."

Elizabeth nodded and looked down at the floor for a moment then looked back up at Theo. "Um...well I guess I will just get some, uh rest." She shuffled her feet a few more times before she turned and started to leave.

Theo jumped from the window sill, landing on his feet with perfect ease. "You don't have to go if you don't want to," he told her. He didn't want her to leave and the ferocity of the feeling right out shocked him.
