With the baby curled into her and her thin arms wrapped tightly around him, she looked every bit like a young mother. Her eyes fluttered shut as she sang quietly. "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, so long as I'm living, my baby you'll be..."

Erik listened to the song and felt a small urge to fall asleep to it, but something kept him up. Perhaps it was the insomnia, maybe it was his urge to watch over the girl that reminded him so much of himself. Either way, he didn't go to sleep. Instead, he reached for the remote and turned on the TV hanging off the ceiling for the person on the bed. He muted it, of course, he didn't even feel like listening to it, he just watched the scenes roll by.

Around an hour later, Benjamin awoke, crying out. Myka immediately responded, pulling a blanket over her chest so she could breast feed. "Sh...it's ok. Mommy's here..."

Erik was leaned back against his chair, watching a childish show he used to watch with Belinda every morning. He quickly changed the channel when he heard the two stir and briefly glanced at them before returning to his show, or whatever he had on now.

Myka giggled, smoothing her child's fine, silver hair. "He looks just like his father...except his eyes."  

[Its Smiley]

"Children tend to do that." he grunted.  

[Mayah Playah]

"Let's see...he has my eyes, his father's lips...but not our ears." She examined his ears carefully, raising an eyebrow. "His ears kind of look like yours."

"My ears aren't that uncommon." he said softly, keeping his gaze to the TV.

She frowned, then laughed as she finally found the familiar fold. "Never mind, he has my dad's ears. Hm, ten toes, ten fingers, everything's here. He's perfect."

He just listened to her talk about her baby. He had nothing to contribute to the conversation, nor did he want to.

Myka sighed, kissing the baby's forehead. "Let's hope you song better than your father, and cook better than me, and love better than either of us. And always protect your sister. One day, she'll fall in love, and you'll need to threaten him since your father won't be able to."

((Well, uh, honestly I dunno where to go with that.))

Erik glanced at the baby, involuntarily rubbing his forehead. He could still feel the sticker stuck on his skin, fortunately his hair managed to hide it. It made him wonder about Arwen, if she knew about her father.

A nurse came into the room, smiling at Myka and telling her it was time to put Ben back in the nursery. Myka reluctantly nodded, handing the baby to her. As the child was wheeled out, the tired mother lay back. "I hate this..."

Erik watched the nurse and little Ben leave, brushing some of his hair to the side of his face only to further cover his right eye. "It'll get bearable over time." he murmured and turned back to her.
