Jean Grey
Jean chuckled. "They're already up. As soon as you agreed, I began setting them up." She winked. "The perks of being a high-level telepath."Masika Yejide ~Tempest Masika kissed the top of Sam's head, moving to sit on the edge of the other girl's bed and pull her close. "Yes, it was cruel. Even without using her powers, that girl was cruel," she said, thinking back to lunch the day she'd met Sumina. "Try not to think of it. She was trying to sow dissent, and we can't let her do that to us. Professor Grey told me when I first came here that the X-men are like a family. And though families have disagreements and problems, they always stay strong and stay together. We just have to think of it that way."

Resting her head on Masika's shoulder, she tried to let all the insecurity go. It had been only a short time, but she had already come to see this as her home and these people her family. She would die defending it, but that meant that losing it would surely break her. Sam knew she wasn't strong enough to lose everyone important to her twice.
"Ok, I'll try," she said, taking a hiccuped breath. "I won't let her get to me. It's bad enough that she can cause so much trouble, without letting my own mind psych me out."

Masika Yejide ~Tempest Masika nodded. "That's right. Just try to put it out of your mind. It is hard to do, I know. But that doesn't mean we should keep thinking about what she's tried to do to us. And we'll be ready for it the next time she tries."

David E. Warner A.K.A Grizzly -------------------- David nodded. "Excellent. If that's all..." David said, turning to the door. "I was in the middle of an argument." David didn't exactly wait for Jean to answer. He was out the door and back to Masika and Sam in half the time it took him to get to Jean in the first place. "And I'm back!" David said cheerfully. "Sorry bout that. Mistress Grey needed me for just a tick, but I'm back now." David pulled out his cell phone and looked at it. "And if we don't leave within the next five minutes, we'll be late for school. Well, you two will. I'm a bit faster than you." David said. David looked at Sam. "That is, if you're ready to go back." -------------------- Ferocity / Control

◦▹❊*◦▹❊*◦▹Sam Summerfall▹◦*❊▹◦*❊▹◦ aka Redemption ▹◦*❊▹◦*❊▹◦ Sing to me of lovely things. Of butterflies and angel wings. . . Sam couldn't help smiling when David entered the room. He looked so bubbly, she wondered if he hadn't gained some of her perkiness back when she took some of his power. Knowing that even if it were possible, the effects had long since worn off, she shook her head and pulled out of Masika's arms.
"I don't care about being late, but I think it would be better to know if I can handle getting out of bed before I think about trying to get there," Sam said with a laugh. After having her moment, she was feeling a lot better, more herself. With a nod of determination, she pushed some of the blankets off her lap.
"Let's see if I can stand," she said optimistically.

Masika Yejide ~Tempest Masika moved aside so Sam could get out of the bed, but she stayed right by the edge so she could support her friend if she needed it.

◦▹❊*◦▹❊*◦▹Sam Summerfall▹◦*❊▹◦*❊▹◦ aka Redemption ▹◦*❊▹◦*❊▹◦ Sing to me of lovely things. Of butterflies and angel wings. . . With a yip of celebration, Sam beamed as she got to her feet without incident. Once she was up, her body seemed more eager to move. The first few steps were slow and achy, but she was relieved to know that most of it was minor. The only real remaining hurt was the hand strapped to the paddle. She poked at it tenderly. It hurt like it was broken, but she knew that her body would heal it quickly.
"Well if I can have this wrapped, then at least the car accident thing is more believable. People find a story more believable when they have visuals of the aftermath," she said lightly.

((it's morning? Oh well...)) Sumina looked at the clock and sighed. She could finish reading at school. She got up and put the book in her back pack. She would be late if she stayed any longer. "I have to go to school." She announced, having ignored most the conversation. She was excited to see how Masika would react to all the strange looks she got this morning. She waved goodbye to the two mutants in the living room and began walking to school. Sumina was met by a smirking Jake at the entrance of the school. He pushed off the wall and walked over to her. "The rumor is spread. I had to make a couple things up about where I saw here. I hope that's OK with you Sumina." He said and Sumina nodded to him. She reached into his mind and erased all the contact Jake had with her in the last three days. She walked past Jake who blinked and looked around. She had made sure that her orders stayed untouched when she erased his memory of her from the last three days. Sumina leaned against the wall next to her first period, smiling as she listened to the humming minds of the students as they gossiped about the Masika rumor. She pulled out her book and started reading it, waiting to hear the thoughts the X-men. The insecure thoughts or the Storm wannabe and the depressed thoughts of the little cat girl. She looked most forward to hearing David's thoughts. She wanted to see if any of her influence was still left in his mind. Sumina smirked as she read her book.

Gretchen trained for an hour straight focusing on control and aim and the Tornado Technique. By the end of her session she was panting heavily, sweat making her skin sheen in the arena’s bright lights. She scream throwing a burst of fire into a wall, pissed beyond words. The tornado technique seems just beyond her reach, she had been working on that technique for years, she knew it was possible another fire mutant from the past had used it but she couldn’t do it. She was almost positive the mutant have some word of wind ability, it was the only thing to explain why she couldn’t successfully do it. After her burst of rage, Gretchen looked over the scorch marks on the arena before sheathing her blades at her hips and walking out of the room, she needed to talk to Polaris. She loved Polaris like an older sister, the person who got her off the streets and into a home, helping her understand who and what she was and she would always been in her debt.
Gretchen stopped in front of Polaris’ office and knocked on the door before waiting for a response fidgeting with pent up rage her dark brown eyes flashing amber on and off as she worked on her control.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kitty looked at the old small house, white paint peeling from the wood, broken window shutters were tilted on the frame, the small porch looked like it would give at any moment. Her grey eyes turned to look at the social worker next to her who gave her a reassuring smile before escorting her to the door. An old woman answered the door glanced at Kitty and the social worker before grunting and waving them in. “I set up the girl in the office, it has a sofa, I plan to turn it into a bedroom later,” the old woman said hobbling to a door that lead into a tiny room with a desk in one corner covered with papers with an old lumpy couch on the opposite wall with a few blankets and a pillow on it, a few shelves covered in dust and nick knacks, including creepy looking porcelain dolls. Kitty turned to look at the social worker about to open her mouth and beg to be taken away not to be left here when the social worker put a hand on Kitty’s shoulder and smiled at the old woman, “yes of course. It takes time to get children settled in and get everything they need. I’ll be back in 6 months to check in on her, here is my card either one of you can call if you need anything or have any questions.” Kitty took the card with a look of disbelief as the social worker handed another to her great aunt and saw herself out. Kitty turned to look at the old woman adjusting her one duffle bag from hand to hand feeling the weight of her backpack and archery bag on her shoulders. “Ok here are the rules, stay out of my way and don’t touch the frig, you can have half the social check and do with it what you will. You call me ma’am at all times, no aunt or grandma or any of that other bullshit. Also the upstairs is off limits to you, there is a shower and toilet out in the shed. That simple.” Kitty watched the old woman walk away heading upstairs disbelief and grief choking her, as entered the tiny room and plopped down on the sofa coughing as a dust of rose into the air. She growled standing up and deciding to clean the room she was obviously stuck living in. She spent the four hours cleaning and rearranging the room until it was clean and more orderly. Kitty looked at the room, the dolls were stashed in a small closet along with her duffle and backpack, she would need to got to the store to get hangers for her clothes. The bookcase and shelves in the room were cleaned and organize, the desk wiped down and the papers neatly place inside the drawers the the surface empty except for a small cup fill with pens and markers, giving her a place for her laptop and school things. She felt dirty so decided to take a shower, she grabbed from soft jeans along with a long sleeve shirt and underthings, she grabbed the towel her aunt had placed with the blankets and pillow but wrinkled her nose at it. She grabbed her clear makeup bag filled with her toiletries and headed outside with her clothes and bedding. She entered the large barn like shed which seemed to really have been a work room of some sort, she noted the tools at a workbench. She also saw the washing machine, turning the dial she shoved the bedding and towel into it and pour a good amount of soap enough to be called over killed. Taking a look behind a door made her storm out of the shed and return with cleaning supplies she had snagged from the kitchen to clean her ‘room’. An hour later the bathroom was clean and disinfected and her bedding and towel were hanging on a drying line outside. Kitty stepped into the tiny shower stall wearing her beach flipflops and cleaned up before returning to the house and crashed for the night.

Masika Yejide ~Tempest Masika sighed in relief that her friend could stand on her own. It was good to see Sam out of the infirmary bed. "Shall we head to school, then?" she asked.((Bleh. This is the best I could do at the moment. My brain is mush.))

David E. Warner A.K.A Grizzly -------------------- David nodded. "But since I can't carry you two, we'll just have to take my ride." David said, leading them to the X-mens garage. Inside was a rather old Ford Thunderbird. David stood over it proudly. "My first car." He said. People all to often forgot that David was 17 and already had his license. He didn't use it much since he could get anywhere he needed to pretty easily. But in this case, the vehicle was his best option. -------------------- Ferocity / Control

◦▹❊*◦▹❊*◦▹Sam Summerfall▹◦*❊▹◦*❊▹◦ aka Redemption ▹◦*❊▹◦*❊▹◦ Sing to me of lovely things. Of butterflies and angel wings. . . Sam followed the others after she changed into something a bit more appropriate for school. With her backpack in hand and the other wrapped in a white bandage, she trotted into the garage. She couldn't find her hat anywhere, not seeing it since she got hurt. Spotting her friends in front of a really nice car, all she could do was slow her pace and whistle in appreciation.
"That is a nice ride," she said in awe as she drew closer.

David E. Warner A.K.A Grizzly -------------------- "Oh I've had this since I was born. It was my dads first car. After he upgraded, he restored it and held onto it for me. And when I moved away to Weschester, it came with me." David said. He could see they didn't believe that he wouldn't drive a car like this. "I don't drive much. If you could do what I can, you wouldn't either. Hop in." David said. He jumped in, and the car roared to life. It took them fifteen minutes to get to school with the car. David seemed impatient the entire way. When asked, he only said, "This things just too slow is all." When they got to school, everyone looked at Masika with shushed eyes. -------------------- Ferocity / Control
