@Eylios ZOMG! Nightwish! I've been getting into them and symphonic rock in general lately. Magni Prime It is my wife's recipie . . . and I don't know the exact measurements of sugar in replacement to the splenda- but I do know that this works for me. She went through a good dozen variants of this pie to make it perfect. Splenda or regular sugar, it still sounds quite appetizing. I'm sure it has Ultimate in its name for a reason. Heh.

Alexander Magnus Degenerate316 I don't even know how to bake pie. Teach me! So I can make my own weapons. Yep, extra honey fresh out of a beehive. Ultimate Apple Pie recipe: 9-inch double pie crust 7 cups thin-sliced, cored, peeled baking apples (about 7 medium) 1 cup SPLENDA Granular No Calorie Sweetener 3tbsp. cornstarch 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp salt Preapare or purchase a double pie crust and set one crust into a 9-inch pie pan. Place sliced apples into a large bowl and set aside. Combine SPLENDA, cornstarch, sinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture over apples and toss. Spoon apple mixture into pie crust. Place the second crust over the filling. Seal edges, trim, and flute. Make the small openings in thetop crust following your preferred pattern. Bake in a preheated oven at 425 degrees until the top crust is golden brown (about 40-50 minutes). Then, turn the oven off and let the pie sit in there overnight. Yes, overnight. Trust me on this. Nice! Do you make your own pie crusts too?
Yeah, I haven't ever used Splenda before either.

No, storebought crust is what we use. Get two, one for the bottom, and one for the top. 3nodding I honestly don't know the ratio of splenda to sugar, so I can't tell you how to duplicate the recipe without splenda.

Hey, the internet says 1 cup splenda is the same as 1 cup sugar! Easiest conversion ever. biggrin
I've saved this recipe - I might try it out sometime! Especially now that I have that apple peeler-slicer-corer doohickey. It's awesome.
Why does it have to sit overnight?

So that the fruit juice gels up, all the flavor soaks in - for the same reason we marinade steak, basically.

Actualmente, Alwyn, the fourth Bartimaeus books explores the djinni's past. It's not a continuation like I thought. :[ Still, it is Bartimaeus! <3

Yeah, Splenda is as sweet as and acts (chemically speaking) almost identically to normal sugar. If you use aspartame(equal) or saccharin(sweet'n'low), you must note that both are MUCH sweeter than sugar and don't react like sugar does. In fact, cooking with either of the afore-mentioned sugar substitues is advised against, because of how they might react with different ingredients and temperatures.
Right, Alwyn! *gluggles all around*

Well, the overnight oven bit was a happy accident . . . it wasn't meant to happen, but once it did- WHOO!!! Awesomeness ensued.
Gluggle . . . a Refuge original construct that is equal parts Glomp and Huggle. 3nodding

Gluggles get passed around quite a bit around here, Kirari, so you'd best get used to it. :]
