You aren't a horrible person, just human. You can't be expected to always be cheery and happy or in a good mood for everyone. You can't always be expected to be there. Just explain another day that you really didn't feel like talking and weren't sure you'd be able to keep your cool at the time and your friend should understand.
That's what friends do, or one thing they do, they understand. And by explaining it later they will be happy that you took the time to make them understand and will be supportive of you. Don't worry so much Minto-Chan, be happy with life!
