@Darkfist - Ugh. Could you imagine Ian doing a whole white power thing? [shudder] I do think that Gaia is rather PC, so they probably wouldn't stereotype a black NPC. I hope so...

Yeah its a disturbing thought.

Metallica, the band who, in my opinion, used to be cool, but then they got old and forgot where they started and sued their fans?

I downloaded a Metalica song from kazaa when they started sueing fans. Didn't like it so I deleted it. Its so funny how people sue Kazaa, get the latest verson shut down, then Kazaa makes a new version! xd The new one is copyrighted, so its even harder to sue them. When I do use it, I just download a couple of songs I like to intrege me to buy the cd once I have money. Its when people download a whole cd, burn 50 copys of it, then sell them on the street for $9 bucks that makes Kazaa look very bad.

Before people started getting caught selling bootleg cd's, I had a burned cd of a bunch of monty python quotes, and alot of other 6 second tracks that had funny stuff on it. I didn't have any songs on it. It had 99 tracks on it, and when other kids heard it on a boom box another kid brought in, they all wanted me to burn them a copy.

I sold them for $6 each because blank cds don't pay for themselfs. (or do they?) I made a good $30 that I split with my friend and we got a couple of cd's at best buy.

So I guess its all good as long as your not taking huge profits from the band.

Exactly.
I downloaded maybe 3 Iced Earth songs, and One Blind Guardian song. I now have 4 Iced earth albums, 1 $30 shirt, 2 Blind Guardian albums and a $70 hoody. They lost no money from me. Hell they made quite a bit.

I used Kazaa whenever I needed to find a song I hadn't heard in a long time. It helped me find who made it and what album it was off. I won't say I bought the album each time, but it did help me define my tases and albums.

Indeed, like when I got that daft punk song "one more time" stuck in my head and the only way to chase it out was to lissin to it 5,000 times to finally get sick of it.

Bulls eye! (moo?) More then half of the songs I have downloaded I bought a shirt or an album from the artist so I don't feel bad thinking I ripped them off somehow.

I really like Daft Punk. Ii have the dvd with all of their music videos from their album Discovery. It's really neat, they have a video for every track. They are all pretty much anime (some say it's not anime cuz it's French) and are pretty bad@$$. ^__^

And also, how are indie bands suppose to get their singles out their without downloading programs like Kazaa? I would have never heard of New Pornographers or Dir En Grey (not indie, but finding their CDs in the US is impossible without buying off the internet!) without similar programs (not naming which one, but its gone now. SOB!)

Lars Ulrich just needs to get his knickers out of a twist and go swim in his million-dollar pool (SP refrence! Go me!). Not everyone downloads just Metallica and even then, its only their good songs. Lars better be happy now -- I bet no one downloaded the St. Anger CD. blaugh

I still BUY CDs, I mean, where else am I going to get the experience of actually holding the CD case and savoring the music? I like downloading, yes it's fun AND free, but owning the CD makes it soooo much better.

Wow. Long post. Sorry if it's just nonsense. (I need caffeine...)

Oooh...I love their videos!

If it's French but also anime, couldn't you just call it franime? Or frencime?

Ha ha. Behold, the magical powers of combining words! whee

I know, i like them too, but im sayin that song was stuck in my head! Like, first time I saw the video I didn't look at the bands name and the beat of the song was just allways there. Once I found out the band was Daft Punk I played that song so many times. Also like the "around the world" song.
