Had Seto not been so busy choking to death at the moment he would have punched Jounouchi. Even if some normal human circumstance like asthma was the culprit behind his current state, he clearly was in no condition to direct anyone toward medication. Secondly, if Seto could just relax and breathe he wouldn't be lying in bed gasping like some sort of stupid goldfish that had sought freedom from its bowl. Finally, if someone is obviously being strangled, the appropriate response would be to disarm the culprit, not attempt to stop the victim from freeing oneself. Seto didn't care that Jounouchi couldn't see whatever had Seto pinned. The stupid mutt was the one who believed in supernatural nonsense, he should just damn well figure it out. Seto knew the entire train of thought was irrational, and was in no way helping to solve the dilemma concerning the transport of oxygen into his burning lungs, but it didn't stop the confused, angry rant from streaming through his hazy consciousness.
Before he actually succumbed to another wave of unconsciousness, the pressure around his throat miraculously and suddenly vanished. Coughing violently he sat up in bed. Pained tears streaked down his face as he gulped in large breathes of air.

Jounouchi had been about to dash into the bathroom to look for a respirator or something, but his shoulders immediately slumped in relief when Kaiba began taking in air. "Okay, good, that's right, just breathe..." he tried to sound reassuring, but ended up far from it.

Just breathe, right, because he'd been planning on not doing that. However feeling both exhausted and bruised all Seto could do at the moment was gasp and massage his throat. Chastising Jounouchi for being about as useful a care taker as an ax murderer would have to come later.
After several minutes of tense silence, parted only by choked breaths and attempts to mask pained sobs, Seto finally felt recovered enough to speak. Noticing Jounouchi was seated next to him on the bed, seated close enough to nearly be brushing the bed owners' arm at that, Seto firmly shoved at the blonds' left arm, declaring "ok I'm fine, you can go now."

Jounouchi's facial expression immediately contorted into one of indignant annoyance, "The hell you're fine! What the hell was that?! Is this like some medical condition you didn't tell me about?! I'd like to know what just happened so I can, I don't know, actually try to do something about it next time!" he threw his arms up in the air, obviously just as upset as Kaiba was about how useless he had just proven in an emergency situation.

"Oh yea, my secret breathing condition that I thought it'd be funny to conceal during my convalescence in the care of an incompetent blockhead!" Seto spat back with vehemence equal to Jounouchi's annoyance. Truthfully, now that he was starting to recover, Seto felt slightly terrified. He didn't quite think he could handle telling Jounouchi that he was fairly certain some sort of supernatural entity just tried to kill him. However he didn't know how to rationalize the event away, and as much as it pained him, he honestly didn't want to be left alone right now, lest he find himself suddenly under attack again. He'd rather die than admit to this weakness though, so instead of asking for help he resorted to accusations and insults, as per usual.

"What did-" Jounouchi cut himself off, clenching his fists and teeth, telling himself to calm down and ignore the insults, and just get a grasp on this situation instead, "So this kind of thing has never happened before?" he pressed, wanting to find out what was going on. "What exactly were you feeling? Was it like your throat closed up?" he was thinking he could at least contact Kaiba's doctor with this information; find out if maybe it was a weird side-effect of the incident with the electricity or something.

Seto sighed. He had expected Jounouchi to get angry and pick a fight. Not to control himself and attempt to get at the root of the problem. As much as it irritated him, he figured honestly would probably be the best policy in this situation. "I...I," he growled with frustration, every fibre of his being protested the completion of this sentence, "I felt like I was being strangled. I could physically feel someone...something...clutching my throat and squeezing." Seto gazed down at his feet as he waited for Jounouchi to process that information.

Jounouchi rose his eyebrows and widened his eyes, looking more taken aback than shocked or disbelieving. "...that's... I'm not gonna lie to you; that's pretty ******** weird." he blinked a few times, thinking about it, "I've never heard of something like that. But you were grabbing at your throat like you were trying to pull something off it..." he was mumbling to himself in thought now, and then suddenly his face well, and he looked horrified, "...do you think it was... ghosts...?" he bit his lip. He should've realized that would've been ridiculous to expect Kaiba to answer yes to, but considering they were Japanese, it wasn't completely unreasonable to suggest something like that and expect someone else to agree with you.
((Just for clarity's sake, Japan is actually really superstitious compared to most western countries; a lot of them (especially younger people like Kaiba and Jounouchi) believe in ghosts still, mostly because ghosts and other spooky things actually tie in with Shintoism. So though Kaiba's totally not the type to believe in supernatural stuff, it's not actually that odd for a teenager to witness something creepy and think it was ghosts.))

Well, looking on the bright side, Jounouchi being a superstitious fool (like pretty much every other person he'd had the misfortune to encounter) made him feel much less mentally unstable. "Ghosts? Of course you'd believe in ghosts," Seto snorted, refusing to even pretend to consider the suggestion. Though he did continue, "even if ghosts were real, why the hell would one be trying to strangle me anyhow?"
((I am aware that superstitions, like ghosts, are a lot more prevalent in the Eastern world. However given both Jounouchi's character and the nature of many events in YGO, a belief in ghosts doesn't really seem like something that needs questioning. Even Kaiba probably wouldn't be so surprised if it weren't for the fact that he is personally so anti-superstitious.))

"Probably 'cause they're mad you don't believe in them!" Jounouchi huffed, crossing his arms, "...plus, you've got that whole creepy stepfather thing... he already tried to get revenge on you once, and now that he's not in that virtual world anymore..." he shrugged, then shivered at the thought.
((Haha, true enough.))

"You think the ghost of my stepfather suddenly decided to come strangle me?" Seto asked incredulously, rolling his eyes at how absolutely absurd the suggestion sounded. "Rather, I suppose he came, started to strangle me, and then got bored halfway through...or maybe he was afraid you were about to achieve competency any second now and exorcise him away," Seto mock theorized with a derisive snort.

"Hey, don't question ghosts; they work in weird ways!" Jounouchi argued, thinking this was a completely valid point, "What, do you have any better explanations on why you felt invisible hands around your neck?" he pressed, wanting to at least somewhat drag Kaiba down with him into the depths of superstition. It would be a little less embarrassing that way.

Seto grunted, clearly aggravated that he did not have a better explanation. "Even if it was ghosts, and I still am not admitting to that as even a possibility, I'd bet money that it was not the restless spirit of my deceased stepfather," Seto retorted, in spite of knowing his answer was a complete cop out.

"Okay, then the restless spirit of your deceased employees or something; I know for a fact you've pissed a lot of people off!" Jounouchi pointed at Kaiba dramatically, clearly getting more enthralled by and convinced of the idea that ghosts had tried to murder Kaiba than he should be.

"You know you seem to be getting excited about this," Seto muttered petulantly, "I have a 'caretaker' that seems to be enjoying the fact that an entire barrage of ghosts apparently want me to join them."
