The funny bit is I was going to reference exactly that but didn't which is a shame some, so I'm glad you at least made the reference. cat_rofl
Honestly I don't mind the advertising fan boy/girl side of people that love a game so much, tbh it builds me more into the idea of joining if it has some people in extreme love to do so.
Aye the stool does seem weird but the idea is you use it to help glitch you through the secret entranced once there. (though so far 100% solo I haven't got it to work, which in some ways is good for if I did I'd grab the journal get the beard asap & the less my the people whom play SoT I know and been around in life would probably be interested in the event as I got the thing. (And it's already going to be a challenge to even just get them to go into high seas alone for it let alone getting myself to a pirate legend since their beloved safer seas {which I semi get as issues we had with hackers in game when I first played SoT} but now most servers ngl seem dead or have everyone doing their own stuff not caring really, the other kind of servers they toss you in though are reapers heavy & the case for them all is any stolen loot really boost your levels with them even if you also fly a reaper's flag. And the annoying bit is for my wanted skeleton pirate curse I need reapers at 75 level reputation and their pvp side servants of the flame at 100 reputation & they are both high seas 100% only.)
And Rare is not helping the safer sea players any as they deny ranking reputation above 40 which I both love and hate; Love because now my friends if want to go beyond 40 need to do into high seas which means more chance we'll do my wanted Glitterbeard event more & more gold earned for all of us compared to safer seas huge drop of you make only 30% of the treasure value turned in. But I hate it as well for I'd love it mainly as most my friends love to be in safer seas only it feels... if we could rank reapers since they are a trade company in game which can go up even without stolen treasure from others. (they just rank more if treasure is stolen as they're the "evil" pirates which many seem to love cause skeletons plus the reaper's fashion starts with a hooded outfit you can buy at no levels in the faction even compared to rest demanding you reach rank 100 for a hooded outfit except hunter's call with no outfits & merchants whom give you the noble look.) other then that I wish rare at least let you get one or two companies to lv. 50 rep cause fishing for the hunter's call would be nicer without all the cacas capitibus just wanting to sink others for their sick fetishes causing you to lose all those fish stored on your ship as no row boat to stuff all your fish in atm probably when it happens or more annoying they sink it too!!! cat_scream {I got angry fishermen side of pirate life tales mostly all hating on reapers whom love to only sink, hackers whom love to murder all, or Rare servers crashing before you can hand in all your fish.}
Overall though still enjoy my SoT times even if somedays I want to join in burning down all other pirates ships, and offing the crews because they get too obnoxious doing the same to you all on your crew. cat_sweatdrop
Aye it was good to hear about his dog pick up planning too bad we now have his broken down motorbike in our yard which now is on the list of "And when will you take her/this back?" replacing his dog. emotion_skull {at least the bike isn't hyper af and ripping up our things/flesh though. Ngl though when he got upset over Val tearing up his last tank top jumping all over him being excited I wanted to be all "Now you know our PITA days with your dog here puta gritando." but sadly I held back not because I was being nice, but because if I could say all of it in Spanish it'd be 100% better.}
Incase the link failed here's hoping this works otherwise curse ye gaia!!!

Ooh, you DO know the reference! I was little worried you wouldn't know it. cat_sweatdrop It always seems to be a toss-up as to whether someone has heard of any of the Abridged series or not. (If you haven't also watched Hellsing Abridged, it's totally worth it. Get that b***h a cannon. Bitches. LOVE. Cannons.)
I always get worried when I ramble on about things. I've been told I'm annoying when I get onto topics of interest to me. So I'm glad you don't mind! I'm ALWAYS trying to talk more people into playing FFXIV. It's so much fun for me, and I just want to share the joy.
Kind of a shame the glitch hasn't worked for you yet. Hopefully you can talk the others around into doing the event with you! I really HATE games with forced PVP like it sounds like this one has, though. Like, you don't even HAVE to give players incentive to be player-killing jerks, so having incentive for it makes it SO much worse. And, okay, yeah, I get it, it's a game about pirates, so thematically it makes sense to hunt down other crews and steal their stuff. Doesn't make it suck any less. I'm always of a mind that good game design requires making it possible to do all of the basic things in the game without screwing over other players. Like, all they had to do was add in computer-controlled merchant craft. Everyone can fight over them, no pvp necessary, AND it still makes sense for a game about pirates. And then put in a free-for-all pvp zone for the degens that just want to destroy each other. Problem solved, there's something for everyone.
(Had to use my sweet google-fu powers to find an image of the outfit you were talking about. I am sometimes convinced that wiki image links are controlled by evil gremlins with how impossible it is to link to them directly.)
It's been a while since I've watched some abridged series so I got to go rewatch them all again sometime tbh for refreshers/they're fun to watch any way, but I've seen DBZA, Naruto Abridged, Fist of the North Star Abridged, SAO Abridged, Hellsing Abridged, & Yu-gi-oh Abridged while always hunting for more abridged series to enjoy as well.
Ngl I worry about myself rambling on about stuff a lot in life specially when it's about a thing I like and know well due to fear of off putting people from trying it out, or watching/reading/playing it. (Plenty of times with nerding out about the Fable series video games some I feared making others not wanting to go play it which is a shame if they didn't cause I did make them not want to try it as it's a series that started one gender, and solo only but grew into you ironically keep playing the bloodline & can pick gender. With we're all awaiting to see how the newest Fable turns out as we were promised a higher multiplayer than just 2 heroes & it's rumored we're in the age of heroes of old before the first game's heroes guild was made then later destroyed by Fable 2 as normal citizens in lore feared heroes as there were good/evil ones so they revolted and destroyed the guild trying to rid themselves of evil heroes..) but other than that I'd recommend the Dragon Age series those games really take cake on continuing heroes tales played an elf mage in origins hear in DA2 while you're male or female Hawke about the young pointed ear magi that either saved the world but then vanished as none know their whereabouts, died saving the world, or you instead hear about whatever choice companion's heroism instead if you decided to be all "hey party member 1 or two you do it instead.", along with that with having certain DLCs and exploring in game you could meet older companions your old hero knew learn lore you played & spoiler here
see the child you never got to see if you took Morrigan up on her offer near end game to use the darkest magic to seal away the ultimate evil. (Which is one I love as the child makes the tale all the more interesting ngl.)
, Dragon Age Inquisitions I need to own and play tbh but I seen with my friend playing it when I visited him in Utah that it still holds all the previous heroes tale along with Hawkes adventure (with Hawke being a short time party member in game later on.) & their own fourth game is on the way now too but I forget it's name atm sadly... But assume it'll keep that trend going long as you got your old save files to shove the tales into the game's lore. {which reminds me I got to replay DA;O and DA2 for my Xbone cause Xbone change made the old files not exist unless I replay them.}
Aye it's a shame how SoT is at times ngl because of their community. Like we got the good but overall cause of how they done things we got more in their PvPvE servers they want players in more having quite toxic MFers whom don't even care they just wanna kill players and sink their ships treasure or not. Worst off Rare is barely doing things about the cheaters situation hoping all players report them always or something idk, but you'll meet a few hacking/cheating PC players rarer for consoles like xbone, x/s, and now ps5 & more annoying then that pc loads fast or doesn't have load times except when entering game world the console players it's another tale; enter game load time, sail to this location load time, enter this one sealed area load time... take that knowledge with their high seas case & how some players are you got a FML & FU Rare moment as you're loading instantly are dead loaded in have to go to the ferry of the damned to guess what? yeah need to load in again leaving the ferry of the damned possibly to have them see your loading arse again and repeat as MFers love to camp if they want to just kill others a lot that day. {There is a lot of players of SoT demanding Rare makes Safer Seas not the ******** bullshit they made it, aka get rid of that gold and reputation earning nerf of a*****e (70% taken away for gold, 95% reputation earning taken away so yo make 30% of the gold normal, and earn 5% of the reputation of others in safer seas. And if that don't tick you off you can't go above 40 reputation in safer seas, do the normal selling to reaper's bones though in high seas you can just sell them treasure stolen or not so why the hell can't I sell them treasure in safer seas Rare why!?) Overall some players like myself still like SoT & play it others seem to quit fully and uninstall the game or barely play ever. (like I feel are half my normal crew if not all of them of irl friends whom got me nto SoT to begin with, as I been asking and out of all the months I asked we played together once and in safer seas for two different days while the mcshouter was here & now we never play and I even said McShouter is gone if that was the concerns but still I play solo in safer seas as I hate solo high seas or I do open crew high seas where 90% of the time players dip mid game and I then get highly annoyed and either A.) turn in treasures solo if close to a place to do so before I quit after scuttling their ship as a mini fu to them, or B.) They're in the middle of the bs seas (battle zones for environment battles) and i just scuttle and leave game as screw soloing miles to turn treasure in alone when there are other players & the environment enemies in high seas hunting you 24/7 cause that's how to view SoT sadly. Very rarely I try to go to place to sell but with the whole pvpve stuff it's a hell on seas/lands both in high seas.)
Hopefully one day Rare grows a heart like their irl Glitterbeard had listen to players and make safer seas the true blue golden pve only with 0 BS all wanted, so you could still pirate legend in safer seas, you could use a captained ship you own in safer seas, your guilds could go into safer seas together, no nerfing rep gains and earnings from treasure, sure we'd need to get ghost and skeleton curse pvp in high seas but for those stuck with a crew unwilling to high seas much cause toxic players ruined it for them we would love all of that. [I want pirate legend status asap it's been since like 2018 or 2019 maybe 2020 i played SoT & still not a PL is sad with how much I done even if all was safer seas as friends only do safer seas anymore!]
As for the dog and our family members' case we still got Val here and I'm dying cause of it ngl, like pick up your gfd dog already a.holes we ae not keeping her for you to visit every blue moon so she gets excited pisses everywhere angers us all down and you leave so she gets depressed again!!! cat_scream [travis and i are dying to keep our pal from moving out cause he's annoyed with this bs too.]
Pirate zodiac for fun of all here to do if want and share results if like.
Mine's Jolly Rodger.

The ones I know for sure that we have watched are DBZ, SAO, and Hellsing. We're a little snobby about which parody groups we'll watch. cat_sweatdrop The Adventures of Dumplin (Team Four Star, the ones that did DBZ Abridged, did that one, I think?) is pretty amusing, it's not for any of the shows, though, it's for one of those Dragonball games where you can create your own character. One of the Xenoverse games, I think? I'm not sure if it's, like, just under one of their DB Gaming videos or how to find it, actually, I'd have to ask my beau, it's been... years since we watched it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that worries about their rambling! It's like, "I JUST WANT TO SHARE THE JOY AND MY LOVE OF IT WITH YOU!!!" and other people - that are more typical/normal than me - are like "Ew, you're annoying, stfu." So I usually wait until someone expresses an interest to switch on the fannish mode. As for Fable, I own the first game (it's in my Steam account, my beau bought it for me), but since I played the second one with all the character customization first, I could never get into it. Like, "I'm forced to play a BOY?! I can't even choose to play the sister?? Screw this!" (Plus the gamepad support on PC is HOT GARBAGE [read: nonexistent], and I don't like keyboard controls, they feel... weird and wrong to my brain.) I ADORED the second Fable, though. Like, my beau watched me play it at his place for SO many hours (this was when we were still in school, I've never owned an xbox of my own, technically). And then choosing the ending was agony because I didn't want to lose my dog. cat_lol I didn't like the way the third Fable played, though. I've watched my beau play it all the way through, but the story was a big turn-off from the start for me so I couldn't make myself play it. And Dragon Age, oh, Dragon Age, it was great right up until it wasn't. I've only played Origins, and I never finished that. I have a reason for this, though whether or not it's good is up for debate, I suppose. ANYway, how it went is like this: I played through to somewhere around halfway, I was clearing out a den of dragons, I think, and I DID it after MUCH pain and suffering, except... the game crashed and something weird happened to my save file because when I loaded it up again, I was in the middle of the den and EVERYTHING was alive again. I literally couldn't fight my way out a second time because, being in the middle, EVERYTHING would aggro me as soon as I moved. I was so angry and quit and couldn't make myself play that DA or any of the others that came after. I've watched my beau play the others, though. I didn't particularly like Hawke in DA2, they were very... Mary Sue/Gary Stu-ish, I guess, is the best way to say it? Which seemed like a HUGE copout for a character you can't really customize. I dunno, they just felt like a bad fanfiction character to me. It was all the other characters that made that game, honestly. Inquisitions looked pretty good, though! The story and main character were MUCH more engaging, in my opinion.
Oof, yeah, Sea of Thieves is a game I don't see myself ever calling 'good' without some SERIOUS overhauls to their systems. One of those being, NOT SPAWNING THE PLAYER IN UNTIL THEY'VE ACTUALLY LOADED. Like, hoo boy, that is one EGREGIOUS oversight, if not flat out ERROR. I can't think of ANY MMO that would do that to their players. And the fact that the whole player base hasn't rioted over it and demanded a change is honestly baffling. It's SUPER unfair, how are you supposed to even TRY to defend yourself before you've even loaded in? I mean, they could even go the quick and dirty route of making the map edges where players load and spawn into invincibility/no-combat zones if they can't be arsed to only spawn players in upon loading completion. Ugh, there are just, so many ways they could PROPERLY handle this, why in the ever loving ******** HAVEN'T they?! It's not like it's new game, after all! It's almost like they WANT everyone to ditch so they can just quietly end service to the game. (I'm... probably disproportionately angry about this since I have no horse in this race, so to speak. But I HATE it when devs/publishers drop the ******** ball and screw over most of their playerbase.)
Ugh, they STILL haven't picked up their dog?! It's bad enough how much they're putting YOU out leaving her there, but to do this to the dog, who has no choice and no say in the matter, makes it even worse. Just, ugh, people that would do this to their pet are some of the worst people in existence.
As for pirate zodiac, it says I'm a Golden Chicken. Which, just like my actual Western astrological sign, doesn't really fit me at all. cat_rofl
Aye some abridged things do be not as great as others ngl so guess I'm also semi picky in the sense of if it seems unappealing when watching I'll quit watching, unless my mood is hate myself or want to watch bad things atm then I'll watch them longer before I quit. (also having some friends in life to mock the bad abridged shows also help you to watch them longer too.)
Omfg yeah the ending choice before the DLC for Fable 2 was rough specially when my hero way normally was I'm evil cause people kicked my dog so I murdered villages for it. (never kick my dog in Fable 2 or 3 if you're an NPC clearly the games learnt.) So 99% my runs before DLC I only did revive dog. Yeah ngl I do see the Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu of Hawke (replaying the games.) I still like it but unlike Origins where we really had to build our hero about to do stuff Hawke just honestly did shiz with only things we controlled being class & skills for class. (Like I had fun in the past but replaying I'm like "wow this feels more copout for Hawke then I remember." (Even worse you can highly ******** Hawke's life up with choices ngl which is also quite awful if you didn't know stuff for DA2. (I did a run doing it and holy cow it's bad having just Hawke and his uncle in life specially if you do the quest that gets your uncle arrested for his crimes he done in his past/still as Hawke gets horrid in replies to others if you make the choices like with the mage hater I had Hawke tell him off and it got like damn Hawke as he got brutal to not only the guy but himself summing it up short being all like "I get your issues, but I got my own mistake of my past while trying to be the good hero type so we all deal with s**t, shove it up your bum for your anti-mage bull crap & if that upsets you just leave or kill me as I'd welcome death since my life is misery with all my relatives either dead or jailed soon to be dead maybe cause of my actions, so I guess you're kind of right for some mages; But only some!" (not Hawke's exact words but summing it up it was like that.) I love the story still ngl but aye the system was kind of sad as with know how you are basically a god/goddess with Hawke's abilities. (and I missed the needing to put skill points in charisma abilities to persuade and intimidate. (Origins felt best if you wanted a true RPG cause like playing a TTRPG but in video game style as well, even if it also had it's own ways to make you too god like as well.) DA:I seemed good watching my friend play it some like it went from DA2's case for character to make our hero again which may have been our issue idk... and having not personally played I can't say too much as idk too much being only a watcher of it/multi-played with friend at his place for a bit.
Yeah SoT needs plenty of work for many to call it good me included even if I do semi go brave with rando crewmates time to time. Being on their website forum pages I can say, there is a lot more people upset with their safer seas pve only system than I even thought, which makes me hopeful their will be changes hopefully for the PvE side of game. (Which I hope they do changes for it cause maybe my friends will wanna play more then, which I'd love cause tbh much as some randos can be fun I'd still 100% prefer my irl friends; And with Donna having IBS I think we'd be a pve crew of the game most of all if they made those wanted by many changes. Changes being let pve get full game experience but with only pve environment only locks being the pvp stuff.)
Aye worst bit be the pup wants to play & we are a poor atm place for that having zero fenced fully yard, and with our house we got not much space to have her jumping about. (add our done with our family mood the dog's playmates also kinda suck as even I super dog lover am all "I'll play with you Valkyrie, but soon as you still keep trying when I'm done you'll get the snake venom of this Slytherin.")
Aye with the pirate zodiac I feel many of us feel matching to not matching fully or not matching at all with them. I personally feel only semi matching to mine mainly as I do not see myself as a leader type only. sweatdrop (though tbh I never tried to lead others yet as well.)
We like plenty of "so bad they're hilariously good" things, but there are some things I just cannot stand. Like, really low quality acting when it's apparent it's not intentional. There are also certain kinds of voices that are like nails on chalkboard, forks on porcelain levels of irritating to me. Any group with a voice like that on their team is an automatic no for me. (My beau even has to listen to videos on mute sometimes because I'll be beside him literally cringing because of the sound.)
Conveniently for me when I played Fable 2 it was "old news" by gaming industry standards and all of its DLC had already released. The one truly evil thing I ever did on purpose. Can't find all the hidden stuff without your pupper, after all. Ooh, I am so glad you see the problems with Hawke's character, too! Like, the first time I ever saw my beau playing DA2, I don't remember thinking it was that bad, but when he was replaying it on the PS5, I couldn't help wondering how I missed it back then. Perhaps it was simply because I didn't really pay much attention when he first played it. But it's like someone who did roleplaying was told "no" when they tried to godmod and they took exception to that and made a whole game just so they could have their godly character.
A dev team that won't listen to their player base doesn't deserve the players' money, honestly. Which is probably the best way to get across to them, by refusing to buy anything from them until they fix their game. But unless it has microtransactions or a sub service, it's a little hard to "put your money where your mouth is," unfortunately. (I don't really know the business model for SoT, so this is more of a general statement as opposed to being targeted at SoT specifically.) But yeah, locking so many things behind the free-for-all environment is just a really poor anti-user choice for them to have made.

{They finally got their dog back with them all, so my mind is now distracted by cats being free again to cat.}
Aye really grindy voices or just in general annoying ones for a character in their parody can be awful.
I'm honestly more evil heroes in Fable, due to fact I love the irony of being the bad guy whom saves the world mixed with it's the only way I seen anyway to own a dark brown or black dog in Fable 2. Aye Hawke's fun all the same but they really built him/her (depending player choice) way to god like.
You could go hunting down an enemy called Ancient skeleton which will drop the ancient coins (the money you normally get spending RLC.) which can award you anything between 100-800 ancient coins. {And atm I'm wanting to run into a lot of them.} Downside is they are rare as hell to run into in a span of playing for half a day you could meet anywhere between 0 to 2 at most and it's mainly sadly always 0 for many hunting for them. {Worse off the ancient skeletons are pacifist enemies meaning they'll appear and run away, so you got to give them chase to beat them & they disappear fast as they appear. Making it so you can hear them come not find the a.hole and miss them losing the chance to earn the AC & with rare to get ammo boxes at times as well they also can appear when you're unable to really attack them to earn the ac.}
So they got in store many cosmetics marked between from what I seen being most popular 499 lowest, 999 normal, & 1,299 highest for clothing things, ship goes 2,499 to 12,999 ac. But with running into the Ancient Skeletons you could be lucky meeting more than even 2 rarely but when you do it's pray you can get them for those ancient coins & 99% of the time it's the tier 1 versions awarding 100 - 300.
All the same I wish the devs would let pve game be a pve game with no nerfing players bad, let it be pve and not have the pvp stuff only aka no earning the pvp curse to be a skele or ghost, but everything else is a go even getting pirate legend unlocked. [and I'm only this way as my friends irl seem to prefer safer seas the pve only server & I want to be a Pirate Legend as it unlocks loads of things I want for cosmetics, like two toned hair colors & hair styles based off creatures like parrot hair which is a mohawk really.]
{I'm hunting the ancient skeles for ancient coins so I can be a jester/clown pirate in game.}
They FINALLY got their dog?!! Oh frabjous day, the cats are free, FREE I SAY! They must be quite happy now. I know my cats would go bonkers being locked in a single room all the time. (Actually had a cat live half his life with me like that, I could only let him out at night after everyone was in bed 'cause my uncle hates cats. The cat was really chill about it, though. He was only a terror for my mom when I was away at uni, he always knew when I was coming home and would make a racket before I got there. Never made a surprise visit the whole two years I spent at uni because of him.)
I have a hard time doing bad things even in games. I end up feeling guilty about the NPCs I'm screwing over. Do I know they're just lines of code in the game? Yep. Does that matter to my brain? Not a whit. So I usually end up with good-aligned characters. Well, and neutral chaos gremlins, since morality is a little ambiguous to me sometimes.
I suppose at least they have a way to earn the premium currency at all without paying them. PtW is one of my least favorite models, especially when there is no way to earn the premium currency/items/whatever. Though if it's all just cosmetic and has no function or tangible effect in-game, I'd probably just ignore all of it, I can't be arsed to put in that much effort just for things that are "ooh shiny." cat_lol I mean, if I ran into a special enemy, I'd hunt it down without mercy, but it wouldn't be a main goal for me unless I had nothing better to do.
Definitely agree about PvE, though. Like, a slight reduction in reward drops (10-25% I think would be fair-ish) and maybe a somewhat lower chance of certain kinds of loot dropping would make sense for not having the inconvenience of other players trying to wreck your s**t. But the reductions currently in place, PLUS the reputation being locked beyond a certain level is honestly absurd. Like, you either have the un-fun absurd grind with 70% or more of your rewards lost in the wind, or you have the un-fun situation of trying to avoid every jerk in the game with nothing better to do than to spend their whole day on PKing. Not very good choices, and not a good approach to player retention.
