Yeah, my Oma used to make a kickass fruitcake when she was alive. It was wonderful, most everybody loved it. A couple bakeries around here (including the one I currently work at, go me) make good ones... but nooot as good as Oma's.

I posted my recipe for fruitcake a couple pages ago. Try it, see if it works for you. Of course, nothing is ever as good as one's Oma used to make, but maybe mine will be good enough for jazz and government work. wink

(Mind you, my Oma never made fruitcake. She made cornbread, and I've never had its equal.)
