My beau gave me more gifts on Christmas day.
He found a copy of one of my favorite GameCube games, Baten Kaitos, and gave me the first volume of the deluxe edition of Berserk because I mentioned wanting to give it a try since our library has the first eight or so deluxe edition volumes, but it's super popular and the first volume is almost always checked out so I haven't had the chance to grab it for myself.
It's just so very nice that I'll offhandedly mention something I'd like to read or do or have, and he'll remember it to surprise me later. I'm so grateful and appreciative.
He, of course, didn't really ask for anything, because he never does, and I can't really surprise him with a bought thing since he's our breadwinner, haha~ But he bought a new PS5 controller as his own gift (I'd switched my own controller out with him because the drift on the right stick of his controller was so bad he literally couldn't play games with it, but it was manageable on PC for me), and I bothered him with questions about baked goods he might want until he finally gave in and decided on potato candy (which is a confection, actually, but who's counting). And I did manage to get in a small surprise by making pupusas for us! Not quite authentic, since I baked them, so I call them "cheater pupusas," but they use the same ingredients and have close to the same taste. They're still delightful, and made it so I could be the one to make most of dinner for once! (I'm great at baking and do fairly well with confections, but cooking is not my forte; meanwhile, my beau is the exact opposite.)
