Biohazard EXTREME

Oh, no, I agree. But my point is, I can't buy all the games at once, and those two take priority, so unless they get postponed, Alone in the Dark will have to wait.

Sounds fair. razz I hope to get SH5 too. I can only hope for that game to help keep true survival horror alive, alongside its compadres. xd

Well, I'm not enjoying the idea of it keeping the camera behind the shoulder. But we'll see.

Wait, it's over-the-shoulder as opposed to full third-person? That's not a good sign... but hey, I'm not willing to judge yet.

Well, I'll be looking forward to Akira's soundtrack and Our dear Mary Elizabeth-Mcglynn's tracks.

Well, she's cool. But Joe Romersa is where it's at. There better be some tracks by him.

Well, considering McGlynn got 4 songs in 0rigins, Romersa should at least have 3 in the next project, just to compensate.

but McGlynn's voice is like a drug to me.

She gets enough exposure.

Well duh, because she's awesome.

Romersa is fantastic too, but I've said before that it's taken me at least 3 listen-throughs to enjoy his voice. But that's only because I'm not used to it.

But does that not make his voice that much more unique?

Okay! Played some more Alone in the Dark, had to do a driving mission. I almost puked. The driving is so loose, it's almost unbearable. And in this mission, if you screw up once in certain parts, you're dead as could be.

Now, to combat this, what it is you drive through is just... holy s**t. I can't begin to describe it with words. It's like The Day After Tomorrow meets War of the Worlds. The destruction that occurs before your very eyes is just epic (while it lasts). This game seems to be much more about the drama and scale of things happening around you at some points, which is fine in the doses it gives you. The game doesn't really feel too creepy, but there are points where it's pretty intense (SH or RE-wise, not RE4-wise).

I think this game feels like an apocalyptic action/horror title, but not like RE4. It's still got plenty of what Alone in the Dark used to be about, but it adds some fresh air into the series and does it successfully. More to come as I progress further into the depths of the hellish Central Park! biggrin

Did you get the Soundtrack Edition? Because I did. Even though I didn't ask for it.

Well, how are you liking it, Elliot?
Because there's lots of mixed reactions about it. Which, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be trusting the ratings of IGN or GameSpot for a second. I'm still gonna check it out when it hits the PS3.

It's an alright game, not really scary though, but then again, I'm not too far into it. The storyline is alright so far, but could be better. The controls take some getting used to. The voice acting is decent, but no MGS quality.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 28, 2008 3:58 pm

Well what is?

But I mean, you did say decent, right? Which is better than like, what IGN had to say, "The voice acting is horrible." Such drama queens.

I'm back from my four day trip up north! biggrin

Yes, Elliot, I did. I preordered the Soundtrack Edition. razz And then I got the T-shirt free too.

Yeah, the voice acting isn't terrible like IGN said. It's pretty fair. It's not so much scary (though like I said, there are some parts that are pretty eekish) as it is like a crossover between Peter Jackson epicness and a really good TV action drama like 24.

By the way, while I was at this summer park area called Sandy Pines with my grandparents, aunt, uncle, and three cousins, they had a big garage sale day. So I was sitting at home while my aunt went because she loves garage sales. She comes back around 10 AM and tells me she saw a SNES. I was like "Okay, they might have some games, I'll check it out." So she takes me there and it's not a SNES, but a fully functional, beautifully-working NES with two controllers, a Zapper, and SMB/Duck Hunt.

For five dollars.

I s**t a brick. Shelled out the cash immediately and went searching around for more stuff. Here's what I bought:

NES w/ two controllers, a Zapper, and SMB/Duck Hunt (great condition) - $5
Sega Master System with... I think six controllers (three regular, two Genesis, and a crazy Turbo-esque one that has like five different colored switches instead of one), a Light Phaser, and 11 games (need to replace A/C Adapter cable to have it work) - $8
a generation 1 Sega Dreamcast with one controller, a 56k modem cable and the Web Browser (only three days of use!) - $30

The Dreamcast got so little use because it was from a trade show in Chicago and he knew it might sell well, the guy said. It was going for 40 but my grandpa got it down to 30. I was so happy.

And these two I'm particularly proud of. And I just couldn't wait to tell you all!

First, I got MGS1 for six bucks. And now, the main attraction...

Resident Evil for PS1. In the rare long-box. I saw it going for 30 bucks Buy It Now, and that was with a cracked case and ripped booklet and stuff. Now mine is in perfect condition, with the instruction booklet and everything.

THREE. Yes. Three bucks. I was so damn excited, and I used my uncle's PS3 to see if it worked. And it works beautifully. And then that night my uncle and I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning playing MGS4. xd

Btw, the Dreamcast is in its original packaging and stuff so yeah. razz
