Lance looked sympathetic. "Don't worry, it only takes a little time before you can get used to your thirst and can control it, then, you'll be able to be with humans as much as you want . . . As long as no other person has your scented blood or even close . . ." He said then muttered, "One thing I'm sure you'll never do as a vampire is hunting . . ."

Leora sighed. "Good. That's something I never want to do . . . I don't want to hurt another person . . ." she said and floated back, letting the soothing feeling of the smaller waves rolling under her relax her.

"Come on, want to come surfing with me?" Lance asked, trying to change the subject as he stared up at the clouds feeling at peace and relaxed.

Leora looked up at him. "I guess. But I don't have a surfboard . . ." she said as she started to tread water as she faced him.

"You could come on mine, with me." He said, turning his head to grin at her, "You could do this or go back to shore and watch the crying little girl, filled with blood, that you might accidentally be tempted to drink . . ." He placed his elbow on the board and his chin on his palm to act as a kickstand as he looked at his wife, staying in perfect balance on the board.

Lance sat up before pulling her onto the surfboard. Then, he glanced back and noticed a big wave coming. "Well, start paddling. I hope you've surfed before." He grinned back at her before starting to paddle himself.

Leora's eyes widened and she started paddling. "Nuh-uh." she said, shaking her head. "Never gone surfing." she said, although she had gone body surfing . . .

Lance looked back at her and grinned. "Well for now, just paddle and when I do, stand up." He instructed her. He wanted to see if her balance had improved since becoming a vampire, and if not, to either see her fall or make her trust him more by helping her learn to surf.

Lance started paddling as the wave continued to approach. Soon, the two of them were being lifted up by the wave and Lance was getting up onto his feet. When he had, he looked back at her and offered his hand to help. "Don't worry, Leora. I won't let you fall." He reassured her.

Leora was shakily trying to get up by herself, ending up in a bit of a crouched position and then hearing him she smiled and took his hand, trying her best to keep her balance. "Th-thanks!" she said.

Lance smiled at her. "Don't worry, just try to keep your balance and if you feel yourself losing your balance just hang on to me." He said and faced forward as he started to tilt the board to the left and glide along the wave smoothly.

Leora nodded and did her best to keep her balance as he tilted the board. She had let go of his hand after standing up but now her arms were swinging around a bit, held out to try and keep her balance as best she could.

Lance looked back at her and smirked as he turned forward again and started turning the board up and down the wave, glancing back at her to make sure she was okay. He thought about jumping off the board now and swimming besides the wave just to see her freak out.
