Saito took a sluggish step towards the beast, trying to intimidate it to come at him. He knew he would be at a disadvantage if he tried to run in on it since he would be slow, but if he could get it to attack him first he would use its speed against it as he would then also come in for a counter attack while it was pulling back from its own. He clenched the hilt of his sword, making a slight noise as the tip of the blade shifted its position on the ground. "Just hang in there Bill... This will only take a little bit more..." His left hand was clenched tigher, his eyes looking over the beast in front of him.

'Where are you going to attack from?....' He thought to himself as his eyes then concentraited on its feet, Everything would be decided in the end by how it moved...

Satisfied that Christie was no longer a threat Takamura turned his attention to the beast that had attacked Saito. Stepping up next to his companion Takamura put a gentle hand on the mans shoulder, but he spoke with a voice as hard as a sharpening stone. "Leave this creature to me, tend to the girl." he said as he advanced slowly. The ringing in his ears had become a nuisance, but he had learned long ago that in a fight your only enemy is yourself.

"No. I'll be okay."
Christie groaned and started to look through a pouch she had at her side. She was able to speak a little louder now, so Saito and Takamura should have both been able to hear her.
"The more people who are fighting it, the harder time the Shardra has controlling everyone else. You have-" She winced again, one hand to her head. It still hurt.
"You have a little time before it tries to control anyone again, since BillBob's unique... mental situation confused it, made it lose control."

Meanwhile, Billbob seemed to be trying to start walking, but was having difficulty. Whatever one of them did, the other did exactly the same as well. So when the one nearer Christie tried to walk toward her, the one in the doorway tried to walk the same direction but was stopped by the doorframe, which made the other stop after only one step.

As for Raul, he still had the albino pinned, who was still calling for help.

In the shadows... the Shardra could be heard shifting position, its feathers making that peculiar rustling sound that could only be made by innumerable thin, hollow metal cores flanked by vanes made of more metal and something like a fiberglass. By the sound of it, the wings were being re-positioned at least as much as anything else, the larger flight feathers sounding somewhat lower-pitched in tone.

Saito picked the blade up off of the ground and bent his elbow, letting the back side of the katana rest on his shoulder as he took another step foreward with his right foot, taking the blade off his shoulder and switching hands so he held the hilt with the left hand and slowly moved his thumb down the side of the blade, his hand spread open with the back side of the blade facing it, he slowly slid back his left foot and bent his right knee low, pulling his left arm back into a V shape, He was prepared to strike when the beast made its move, not budging an inch from that position and giving it a glare, He was trying to intimidate it with his eyes that looked like those of a wolves hunting its prey.

((There we go, I didn't think I could pull off the detail so well, and I still think there is room for improvement but you should get the idea of his stance...))

Smiling at his comrads stance Takamura slid his left foot back, his right hand drifting to the hilt of his katana.it would only be a small matter of time before the creature struck, and Takamura would have the better shot, assuming the bird creature didn't know that he was there. Crouched low, his feet further apart than normal, so as to balance himself against such a large opponent, takamura stared intently into the shadows, trying to see past them, read his enemies movements. He waited patiently, his right hand hovering aboce the handle of his katana, ready to strike should anything unexpected happen.

Christie looked through her pouch some more, and pulled out a small round object, which had a surface with an appearance like obsidian. She paused a moment, listening to the sounds made by the Shardra's movements. She wasn't sure if it was looking her way, but considering what it sounded like it was planning, she was betting that it was probably focused on the swordsmen... and she raised her arm, ready to throw the object in her hand. She wished she could warn the two without their opponent hearing, but there was no way.

The sounds made by the Shardra ceased, and then in a moment two things happened at once:

The Shardra made a swift motion, lowering its raised wings to beat the air, sending an unnaturally-strong gust at the humans facing it, a movement it followed by rushing towards them running on all fours and snapping its big eagle-beak.

Right when the wind attack started heading for Saito and Takamura, Christie shouted "Brace yourselves and shut your eyes!" and threw the object in her hand, aiming at the ground right next to the creature's path. The thing shattered with a bang and a bright flash, leaving behind a spot on the rock floor that shone brightly like a lamp with some glowing streaks spread out around it.

Meanwhile, the twins were having difficulty still. They were trying to see what Raul was doing, but he and the albino were not in the same direction at the same angle from the locations of each BillBob, so with the way their movements were currently linked, the boys had trouble focusing on them because they couldn't both look that way at the same time. "Raul? What's going on?" they both said in unison.

The albino was still trying to call for help, but fainter and fainter... because Raul kept punching him in spite of the fact that the man wasn't fighting back anymore.

Saito had tilted the blade slightly and closed his eyes, keeping his eyes mostly protected and also reflecting the light back at the Shardra as well. As the light stopped he quickly charged forewards, His body staying low to the ground as he quickly went foreward, The blade of his sword began to glow slightly as well as his pupils in his eyes. He was going to use what little energy he had left for one strike on the Shardra, Hoping that it would be able to kill it.

Takamura closed his eyes and calmed his body as the thing exploded in front of him. his eyes still closed he sensed the creatures movements and lashed out at it, drawing his blade horizontally across his body, the speed of it's movemnt faster than any human. Smiling he opened his eyes to see what damage he had inflicted as well as to get the position of his adversary. He had moved to the other side of the creature and was now turned facing it. As Saito lunged Takamura also lunged, attacking from the opposite direction, the creature would die, and soon.

((so... you guys are saying that your characters wouldn't be affected at all, by the unusually strong gust of wind which would have come at them right before the thing Christie threw exploded? I just want to make sure here.))

((ok now, Saito was close to the ground, in a position that the gust wouldn't have much if any effect on him. His stance is for aerodynamic purposes as well as his entire body acts now like a spring, all of the muscles, all of his kinetic energy going forward and to his opponent...))

((Taki is also low to the ground, though his stance is designed for stability. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time he has fought in a wind storm.))

((Okay, cool, just checking.))

The Shardra had been only slightly disoriented by the explosion, it had so much momentum put into charging that something like that wasn't going to stop it.

Since Takamura's sword wasn't particularly well-suited to cutting metal, he had the same problem that Saito had encountered earlier: a horizontal cut just didn't have the right angle needed to pass through the metallic feathers...
but it made a horrid scraping sound of metal-on-metal, and the Shardra screeched in annoyance at it.

((so if I'm reading this clearly, Saito's running at the creature from somewhere in the front, and while striking Takamura moved to position himself to one side and somewhat behind? I want to check their positions and also please tell me in what way are they striking at the Shardra? Also... is Saito's attack mainly just channeling energy through his sword, or is it also supposed to have other effects as well?))

((The blade can have pure energy put into it and become pure energy itself, Razor sharp and easily able to go through anything in it's path.))

Saito made one final step with his left foot, putting the twist of his entire body into the thrusting attack towards the Shardra's center, pulling his right arm back with his left arm shooting foreward, acting like one huge spring that had just been coiled tightly and then quickly released. The blade shone a bright blue, The engravings a crimson red, This was capable because of the way the sword was made and the special metals it was made of. Saito was betting everything on this one attack, and he was damned if it would be stopped.
