During the skirmish, I felt the life of a creature fade. As a dragon of the main clan, I waved my hand just slightly, and a fire that would burn out before it touched any of the trees, started where the creature was.

I watch the creature burn, not saying anything. Then I nod at Blaze and we start walking again.

Skyra seemed a little sadder, having felt the fading... I had notied something, but didn't realize what it was. This had happened before... Like my soul was crying out at something... but I could never tell what.

I pushed on, trying not to think of the life that had been lost. I still remember when my mother dyed, being a human, she dyed of old age. The sadness in my soul, it hurt.

We trudged onward. All was quiet; no one spoke, the forest was silent except for the soft whisper of the wind. After a while of walking I could smell something that I couldn't place. Then I realized it smelled off more centaurs. The air was muggy.

I stopped, sniffing the air. It was the familiar scent of horse musk that was bothering my nose. I immediately took to a tree, climbing it faster than should have been possible. The Centaurs could not be seen yet, but judging by their scent.. they would be close enough to see soon.

I climb up a different tree and sit silently on a branch, my tail twitching. There are no centaurs to be seen. Either this was where they lived or they were hiding.

I quickly followed everyone else's example, I change my scales to the color of the surrounding area and stood motionlessly against a tree.

But there was nothing yet. We took to traveling along the tree branches. Careful for them not to break or fall.

I took flight but kept low just in case I needed to land. I kept silent, and flew slowly.

I was looking around, watching for the slightest movement. I spotted somthing shifting in the trees ahead, and immediately slowed down o that te branches didn't move as much. It was scary how lightly I could walk along these things.

Leaping to another tree I softly run up the top branch and look over the forest to see where we are. There was nothing but trees, and looking a little farther I spotted the tip of a gate. It was a couple miles away. Silently I sent the others a message.
There's a gate a couple miles away. It might lead us there.

I nod, taking to a higher branch before speeding off. What ever had made that shifting noise below had me worried. But I felt safer the higher I went up.

I hadn't noticed it so we continued traveling among the trees.
