"Yea, but you've been around every time something bad happens to me. Maybe you're being haunted and your ghost has bad aim. Or maybe it's haunting both of us. Hey, you can't deny something freaky was going on with your dad. Maybe he was possessed! And...and...well somehow this has to relate to you as well. Why the hell else would we be thrust together like this?" Seto ranted back, recoiling further under the mattress as an expensive pile of leather bound books crashed to the floor in front of them.

((Aww that definitely sucks, hope it's a fun convention anyhow though.))

Jounouchi's hyperactive paranoid rant was actually serving to calm Seto down, which meant he was unable to continue the tirade further. Besides, even if Jounouchi was being haunted solo he was clearly being dragged along for the ride. Telling Jounouchi to shove off probably wouldn't help if Seto himself was the sole target of some supernatural wrath, well it'd probably help Jounouchi, which wasn't his primary concern if he were being honest.

"Calm down," Seto ordered firmly, immediately ending Jounouchi's frantic rambling. "None of this really matters. Unless knowing what's after us is going to assist us in beating it, which still isn't really a step we are at right this moment, not even determining that will help us now. Assuming this chaos doesn't cease soon, what are we going to do right now to escape this situation?"

"Yea," Seto assented, reaching up toward the nightstand to grab the phone, hoping that he wouldn't lose his arm to one of the many flying projectiles. Jounouchi's comment did have him wondering about the rest of the house. Mokuba was hopefully safe at work, but Jounouchi's sister was only just done the hall. As that clearly wasn't a thought that had yet entered his companion's head he kept that piece of realized knowledge to himself. As they were still trapped there was no point in freaking the blond out any sooner than necessary.

Seto swore glancing at the dead phone, which had been freshly charged this morning. He reached for the power cord to plug it in, only to find the battery just would not take the charge. Sighing he showed the blank screen to Jounouchi, "so much for that plan," he muttered.

"Well, we are on the third floor, so that would be one hell of a drop," Seto began, "however there is a bit of roof we could walk along over to the next opening window, see if things are calmer elsewhere before we consider jumping. The closest window would be to the left, however to the right we'd get to where your sister is staying, do I even need to ask your directional preference?" Seto proposed to the twitchy blond beside him, deciding now was as good a time as any to remind him that Shizuka was possibly trapped alone under a chaotic avalanche if this mess weren't contained to Seto's own bedroom.

Seto rolled his eyes as Jounouchi attempted to tell him what to do. Not bothering to grab for covering he rolled out from under the bed, leaped over Jounouchi while darting through the chaos, and swiftly jumped out the open window onto the ledge. Leaning back into the room to grin slyly at the still crouching blond he shouted, "hurry up pup, we haven't got all day."

Despite the odd rattling and banging noises she heard down the hall Shizuka had continued with her shower. Having spent her early childhood in a home with the exuberant Katsuya and her unpredictable father such sounds weren't exactly attention catching, and at least in the Kaiba mansion she figured that whatever the noises may be they wouldn't be indicative of actual danger. Turning off the water she figured she'd better dry off, get dressed and make sure that things were really ok between her brother and his...friend.

Seto inched along ahead of Jounouchi, merely smirking at his offhanded comments. Exempting a few near falls, they made it to Shizuka's window without much difficulty. Luckily the window happened to be unlocked, as Shizuka didn't appear to be in the room. The pair climbed in the window, relieved to find that whatever madness had taken hold of Seto's bedroom clearly hadn't had an effect here. Before a word could be exchanged the bathroom door opened and Seto and Jounouchi turned toward the entryway, neither yet decided what explanation they'd be giving the girl for this unexpected entry.

Shizuka looked around after stepping out of the shower, but realized she'd left the linens she'd been given piled on the bed with her clothing. Dripping wet she ran toward the bedroom to grab a towel and cover up. Upon entering the room and find finding herself standing completely naked in front of her quite shocked brother, and the even more embarrassed Kaiba, Shizuka reacted in the only matter that seemed fitting. She let out a piercing shriek and darted back into the bathroom.

Seto turned exceptionally red after realizing they surprised Jounouchi's little sister fresh from the shower, too surprised and embarrassed to mount a defense if the irate blond gave into the apparent anger being directed at Seto himself, as if somehow this was all his fault. It's not like he had wanted to seen the girl without her clothing, the kid hardly appealed to him in such a manner. And he was entirely too well mannered to take advantage of a girl even if he were so inclined. After Jounouchi ran toward the bathroom his sister had retreated into Seto turned his gaze toward the opposite wall, waiting for the siblings to sort the awkwardness out before readdressing the problem of a possible haunting.

"Just hand me my towel and clothes please," Shizuka whined through the door, opening it only enough to allow the passing of the requested items. She was torn between humiliation over being seen fully buff and fury at the two men just entering what was supposed to be her room unannounced. Especially as they seem to have done so through the window. She'd try to process "emergency" after she'd covered up and regained some of her lost composure.

"Oh stop glaring at me," Seto snapped, still exceptionally red and flustered. "This is not my fault. In fact this is your fault," Seto ranted pointedly, "you should have remembered she was in the shower when you came to my room, how would I know, I was busy being unconscious. If you're going to be mad at someone you can be mad at you." Seto jabbed a finger into Jounouchi's chest to emphasize his point. He knew his argument was gibberish. Of course Jounouchi was probably too busy focusing on the homicidal room and worrying about his sister to remember what Shizuka had been up to when they parted. But this was not Seto's fault. He was already embarrassed and freaked out enough, he wasn't going to put up with the hotheaded blond being irrationally angry and accusatory as well.
