I know what you mean about level whoring throughout the game, though. I didn't when I played through it and I kept having to stop and level whore for periods throughout the game. Mostly whenever you have to fight Seymour...or take on any boss really. p:

Even more so when you need to level whore, but can't because the only way out of the place is by beating the boss and there are no other minor monsters to fight. gonk
I still somehow manage to beat bosses and all that even without level whoring though. xD
I'm at the beginning of Mt. Gagazet. I'm in the Calm Lands level whoring though. : B

I'm not sure of what you mean with the monsters. D: FFX has it so you run around and you have random battles. X-2 is the same way, not sure about VII and IX though. ninja I own VII, but I haven't played/beaten it. As for IX, I've never seen that sucker! D=
I've played X, X-2, XII, and, like I said, I own VII.
I'm lucky in X-2. I'm level 99 I leveled nonstop, the ending will be so easy~ But I was going for 100% (which I didn't get due to a mess up in story Dx) I still have to take down the big bad boss at the bottom of the Cloisters...the b***h can still kick my a** even though I'm 99. emo

Well, at one point of VII when you're in the Ancient Temple, the only place you can go is the room the boss is at. The other parts you can get to have no monsters at all. XP
I think basically all Final Fantasy games have it so that you run around and have random battles [excluding 12, where you can see and avoid monsters, and yeah..]. xB
