Snowman, it is a game inspired by someone [user name Boshy] who felt that I Wanna Be the Guy was too easy. When he expressed this, one of his streaming viewers created the drastically more difficult I Wanna Be the Boshy.

*jaw unhooks and hits the floor* I didn't think it was possible... Is the gae actually playable/beatable or is it just endless spikes? xd

It's completely beatable if you have the patience and skill to run through it. Honestly though, I died over 500 times trying to get to the first checkpoint. I'm not very good. :3 But it does give me fun times despite redefining some portions of the terms "troll" and "torture". And yes, there are spikes everywhere. Every. Where. q_q

Wow, that's crazy. I didn't think you could make a game harder than "I Want to be the Guy" and its sequel...

Have you tried VVVVVV by Terry Cavanaugh? It's nowhere near as hard as those games, but it's still a great spike-filled challenge.

Okay, just making sure. heart

Yeah, those old cartoons don't have much going for them aside from nostalgia. Heck, I love Samurai Troopers Ronin Warriors despite its cheese.

I love you a fraction more now. It was a point to buy all the series and OAVs . . . they are always a part of my heart. I sooooo wanted the spider armor for myself!!!!

I'm just slogging through Darksiders II and coming to terms with how it is less than the first game.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 11, 2013 5:32 pm
Yeah, I own the series and OVAs as well, though I think I'm missing one of the OVAs. Nothing like classic 80s sentai...

I always loved Anubis. Since the Japanese version has them named differently, I'm talking about the "Quake with FEAR!" sick-and-chain guy. Also, I never get tired of that short but repetitive riff that plays whenever Hariel's white armor is summoned.

That's a shame. I had heard it was pretty good, too. Didn't the company that made those games die?

I have, personally, not played through VVVVV, but the entire third level of I Wanna Be the Boshy is homage to VVVVV so I know of some terrors that are included within. IWBTB also likes to ruin childhoods, as some bosses are super vicious versions of games such as Mario and Sonic.
---
Niisama, is Darksiders 2 really much less than 1? I really wanted the other two horsemen to have more appearance than the cameos I heard they have, but I have not played through it to find out for myself. 3x
---
I completed Remember Me, and while I'm a little disappointed in the story and how short the game was, I am equally as impressed with everything else. *hugs his game case* Plus Tana <3's Nilin! ... and Olga. x3

Honestly, I'm just glad they released a new Cyber-punk(ISH) AAA game.

Darksiders I focused on war, and was nothing short of a series of dungeon crawls for redemption with a great evolving story. Angels and Demons both had their reasons for fighting War and helping him at times. It was a lovely story and a decent game that I enjoy again and again.

Darksiders II feels more like a MMO, with online options, and the repeditive series of quests that may or may not have any decent reason for being, and the only real reason to keep ******** grinding is for better items. Death looks different as you equip different items, but honestly, I enjoyed the previous one more. You don't even get the ingegral choice . . . ressurect the Nephilim, or restore humanity . . . which makes the entire first game moot! If the humans are back on Earth, then the endwar didn't do any permanent damage, and War went through all that shite for no reason. That, and they pulled the same card a second time.

Death sacrifices himself at the end of the game in a movie, but isn't really dead because at the same time, War broke the seventh seal which ensures that there will always be four riders.

Yes, the game company that made it did go belly up, as this was to be their saving throw . . . or death knell. Turns out it was the latter.

****************************************************************************************

I ******** love Ronin Warriors. What's more, I loved playing as them in RP, and have made sure that several of the Warlord super attacks are in my Bleach Character. The "Quake with fear" using a ksurigama is a perennial hit with me. Yes, the chain and sicle thing is called a ksurigama, and that show made me love that weapon forever.

Hell, I'd take any armor . . . and I'd rock that thing into oblivion!!!!

Oh, wow. Boshy's some game, then... *afraid*

I've heard about Remember Me. I'll have to check it our if I get something that can actually play it.

The joys of sequels neutering their canon...

~

I can understand that, b/c the 4 (5 if you count the woman w/ the starlight scream sai) villains honestly had better powers than the 5 heroes.

I love Anubis's character arc so much in that, though in English, his VA reappearing in his new role is hilarious beyond measure.

Oh heck yeah. My fav from the good guys was always a tie between Sage of the Halo and Rowen of the Strata.

Not sure which Ronin I liked most . . . but the idea of the multiple arms on Sekhmet was awesome . . . and I truly enjoy the idea of turning allies on one another through illusion. The jakyl armor was likely the weakest conceptually for me. Sure it looked badass, but it was only a negative version of the Halo armor. The rest of them seemed to have unique concepts.

We're talking about an 80s anime called Samurai Troopers / Ronin Warriors, Alwyn.

Yeah, and they vaguely gave him cold powers... He was definitely the odd man out. Anubis will always be my favorite; there's nothing like that chain and sickle.

Cool, have fun learning some programming (among other things).

Make sure not to get any of the juice on your clothes. Beets really stain.
