	It was part of the Devils and goddesses arc. Basically the devils wanted to destroy the world for the goddesses and they hid out in the desert.

	Yeah the devils were like a group of people set on hunting down the goddesses, and the gods were there to protect the goddesses. This is actually pretty similar...
