"There's no doubt there's a lot to do...How about dinner? I know it's free, but lets just say for the fun of it it's on my tab," Vence said, smiling.

As the royal family parted the people, he slipped under the door via the shadows. The palace was quite large, and he found suitable covor in the rafters high above the floor. Still invoking the power of shadows, allowing his own body to become one, he crept along, following the people he saught to kill with silent stealth. In a few minutes, they would depart for the festivites as well. Then, in the crowds, would he kill them.

The man grinned his evil grin, unseen by any.

Vence stepped to the roof's end, and glanced down. He turned to Mayloo.

"Well, now that you know my element, perhaps you'd like to see my favorite way of travel?"

"Nothing to it, just the risk if I don't act fast enough I'll be trapped in limbo," Vence said, grinning at the joke. Technically, that was true, but it was a ten-minute time period. He only ever traveled for half a minute, at the most, maybe a whole minute at a time.

With a light wave of his hand upward, flames rose up and engulfed him. As those flames died down, in the alley below, flames rose up there, and Vence reappeared. He glanced up, smiling as he waved a few times.

[everytime I come back on, I feel like it's been days sinse I have been. x] I wonder why? I'm not on much today; my b-day, see.]

Vence laughed at the burning statement. It was ironic how that could turn out, sometimes.

"You know, when I first learned I could use fire, I did burn myself a few times. Proper control comes with time. It's one of the reasons why it's one of the more difficult elements to control. With nature, you control it without danger of harming yourself. Water, well, that's a different story. You could accidentally freeze yourself or something, but that's hard to do. Fire is unpredictable, no matter how much control you have of it." Vence explaind, shrugging towards the end. "No need to explain all the elements though. It's a boring topic, really."

Vence laughed with Mayloo, having to admit she was right about that.

"Fun to use indeed. It gets even better when you have an endless amount of energy," he added. "ADHD, see."

Because it was so late, most people were starting to go to their homes or their hotel rooms, so the dining area wasn't packed like Vence had seen only hours ago.

"I really am underdressed for this," vence said, laughing to himself. Compared to almost everyone there wearing some sort of formal clothing, the only formal attire he wore might as well have been his belt. "Oh well, who cares?"

The mysterious man followed in the shadows the royal family, until they arrived at one of the many dining areas.

Death by choking? he thought to himself, chuckling silently at the thought of it. But of course, I must reveal to people that I did it. This world needs to remember what true fear is.

He glanced around the bar, looking at each person individually. All of them, they all looked pathetic...

s**t, that kid! He shouted in his mind, he eyes for a moment growing wide. A split second of panic, and then...

Wait...heh heh, he's not the same as he was. The resemblance, though... so striking, he commented to himself, looking the young man up and down. Compared to everyone else, he stood out a little. And the girl with him... weak, like everyone else. Still she had something about her that was different than everyone, just like the boy did.

I should be more cautious, lest they be a threat.

[Sorry I haven't been on lately. sweatdrop Things have been getting my attention.]

"Hey, everyone needs sleep," Vence commented, sitting down across from Mayloo. "And being a doll and being respectful are two different matters. As much as I hate the issue of status and conformity, sometimes those standards must be met," Vence briefly rambled on. Being sure to stop himself short, He glanced around at the other people in the dining area.

"Well, aren't we lucky," Vence commented, glancing over to the other side of the area. "Look who's here; this is probably the closest we'll ever get to them," he added, subtlely pointing towards three people who had just sat down: the royal family.

Hmm, not many people here...it will have to do, the man thought to himself, as he aimlessly drifted among the shadows, weightless and without form. The new king was asking about current political issues, apparently, which both his mother and father were very vague about, much to his amusement and to King Raelle's frustration.

Oh well, it must be a relief to know he'll not have to deal with it. I need to time this perfectly, he thought, considering the possibilities.

"Then I wouldn't wear it," Vence answered bcak, smiling. "I'm not that much of a kiss-up to life." When Mayloo comented on the roal family, he nodded in agreement. "True that. It takes a lot to keep oneself in check, especially with greed. As for money," he commented, glancing down toward one small pouch at his side. "I have enough to get by with. Doing side jobs, snatching bounties from time to time, no big."

Vence smiled in amusement towards Mayloo. So, she was thinking of running for it? Not a bd thought, really. He had nowhere to go, technically. Both his parents were, well, deceased, for a more formal term. "Dead" never really suited Vence's vocabulary.

"Sounds like fun; have anywhere to go once you do?" Vence asked,leaning back a little, interested. It had been a while since he had set out and gone anywhere. Maybe tagging along for a while might suit him. As long as he wasn't a bother, of course.

The dark-cloacked man took a seat in the corner of the room, materializing unnoticed before he did so. Confident no one knew his face, he pulled back his hood; he had to look more natural in a plce like this in order for this to work. Not a few tables behind him, the royal family sat, talking away. Across the area from them, diagonal from him, the two youths sat. For some reason, he got the feeling they were a hinderance.

Ignoring both parties at the moment, He sat at the table and assessed the situation. He couldn't afford to wait any longer: he had already delayed himself for too long. Here he would have to do it. But how was he going to? He could do it the easy way and kill them before someone could cry out "murderer" and be gone before they finished saying anything in the first place. But he needed to show these people it was he who had done it. No, he would have t okeep them alive long enough to let them know he was their killer, and tell the world what he was...

"Soon," he whispered, a new plan slowly being pieced together.

"Well, if you want me to, I have unlimited free time; tagging along is no problem. As for any possible safehavens, I would reccamend any Elven establishments," Vence said, glad to be able to give advice.

"Oakvale and Bankridge are good places, too. Small towns both, and they except almost anyone."
