I say XIII is going to bomb out just like XII... They need to bring back some good storyline writers, not this new age crap that seems to be going into FF... (Such as that idiotic FF XII license system "5 points let me wear two different hats! And they don't even effect my characters appearance!")

*grunts.* stare
X-2 had the goal of giving Yuna closure on her loss of Tidus (and possibly to inexplicably bring him back, even though that ending makes no sense and is just a bunch of fluffy romantic bliss faerie-tale ending... ), while uncovering even more mysteries about the history of Spira, Yevon, the Farplane and Pyreflies then were revealed in FFX. basically, the idea was that when you thought that you figured everything out in FFX, the sequel comes out and brings about even more mystry and surprise. it was a very nostalgic game, and considered girly, so it was targeted mostly at teenage girls, and that is probably why they had the Dresspheres and the Spherechange mechanic. personally, i LOVED teh idea of switching chracter abilities and party-roles midbattle like that! >.>
ANYWHO, FFXII DID have a great storyline, and the Lisence-Board was an AWESOME mechanic, one that i hope to apply to games i design. yeh, i agree that they could have at least allowed the equipment changes to show up, but whatever. Chem, you claim to want storyline improvements, but you are complaning about minor graphic details!
and FFXIII is ******** EPIC! man! >.< how DARE you flame it!
(~P.S. it is ok for you to flame it, realy, i'm just stating my opinion here.)

So in summary we have X-2 as a very long add-on to X. I'm not going against the mechanic of mid-battle ability switches (I actually enjoyed that part). FFXII felt too short compared to the other games and having pretty much known how evil your enemy was and what his master plan was... (DA:O had the same problem at the end...)
I also enjoy seeing what all that gil would actually look like when properly equipped! Is that so much to ask?... I'll change my opinion on FFXIII when I buy it and play it, on a friends opinion I am going to shift my opinion of it to neutral...
Hasn't 14 been announced or was that another version of 11?

War leaves its trail, in moonlight so pale... XIV is to be another MMORPG. I believe you can find the concept art on Creative Uncut already. As for my favorite FF, it has got to be FFIX, all the way. The story is wonderful, despite the few cliches that are mixed in, the character development is phenominal, and come on. They made the main character a thief! What's not to love?! ...Its shadows, they flow, in rivers in rivers...

I really like FFXII.
FFX was pretty cool, too. I was kinda wishing they did more sequels to some of their earlier games, and I think that they are beginning to look into that, with the FFVII movies and spin-off games. They also have download-able add on to FFIV on the Wii.
I am guessing that all the Crystal Chronicles games are interconnected, but I haven't had the opportunity to play any of them yet.
I suppose that my favorite FF game so far would probably be FFIV, although 7 and 9 are pretty close in there.

I'm looking forward to FFXIV though! biggrin it's hard to ******** up an MMORPG, and I spent a good several hours on the website when I clicked a Link.... it looks pretty damn good. like the Epic Setting of FFXII with all the sheer Visual Awesomeness of FFXIII, and in the time-tested MMORPG Format! ^.^ heart
