Zander had a point. This was the goddess of revenge. Who knew if she was using us for her own pleasure or revenge? The goddess leaned closer as if to whisper to both of us. "What other choice do you have?" She winked and leaned back. "Just think about it." Nemesis smiled and walked out of the restaurant. Several of the men seemed to drool as she walked out. Zander watched Nemesis as she walked.
"Hey, hey!" I almost yelled to get his attention. "Welcome back to earth, Zander." I said sarcastically. We still had a problem. Should we do as she suggested and go to Hades. "I think we should go to Hades." Zander looked at me as if I was crazy. "What other choice do we have? We don't know where else to look. You heard what the prophecy said. Stay the course until the west end. Well, we're in California and, if we go any farther west we'll hit the Pacific."
We finished our breakfast and payed with our golden card. Apparently, the card was unlimited. But I had a feeling I was only allowed to use it for emergencies. Which meant no shopping spree on the way home. I brought out some extra sausages and bacon and fed them to Hayden and Thanos.
Where to next? Thanos asked as he chewed on a piece of bacon. I looked over at Zander.
"So what do you think?" I asked. "Shall we go to Hades or hit the Pacific?"

Don't love me for who I'm not... I thought for a moment about her question. "I guess we really have no choice. Let's just go to see Hades and see what happens? If he has the weapon, great we can kick his butt and get it over with. If not we know that Nemesis probably lead us down there...Away from something."
I walked away from the restaurant, heading towards where I thought Hade's would be. Although I wasn't quite sure so I stopped and waited for Daniella to take the lead before continuing to walk. 'I still think Nemesis is up to something by leading us down here...." I sighed and stared up at the sky.
There were so many thoughts running through my head, I stuck my hands in my pockets. In my left pocket was Laconic and in my right was the letter I had written to my dad. "Hey before we get to the underworld can we go mail the letters? I want my dad to hear what I wrote before we go down there and possibly not come back up..." I chuckled lightly and waited for Daniella to have the same idea and start heading towards the post office.
But hate me for who I am... -------------------- ||I forgot where the underworld is...||

I smiled remembering the letter I had written my dad. We headed towards the post office and, after getting stamps and envelopes, placed our letters in the mailbox. When Zander mentioned us might not being able to come back up, I began to worry. We had to get back. It was of the utmost importance. If we didn't, we would have failed in our quest and we would have let our parents down.
But first thing was first. We had to find where Hades lived. We stopped at a nearby park and made sure no one else was watching. I pulled out my magic book and flipped to the back. I had remembered seeing a map of the United States. A little symbol rested around the San Fransisco area. I assumed that was where we were. Another symbol rested lower in California around the Los Angeles area. I knew it to be the Helm of Darkness. The symbol of Hades.
"There," I pointed. "That's where Hades is." The picture zoomed in to show the exact building. I could barely read out the words. "DOA Recording Studios. Looks like we'll be traveling for a few more hours." I tried to figure out another way of transportation where we could bring Hayden and Thanos. A bus was out of the question. I couldn't dare allow Hayden to fly for however many hours. "Looks like our only option is to steal a car."
(Beneath DOA Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California. Though in the movie it was located behind the Hollywood sign. We'll just have it in the recording studio. Or beneath it I should say.)

Don't love me for who I'm not... I watched as the map zoomed in. I thought about our only option being stealing a car. "Well do you have a spell to hotwire a car? If not I know how...Shh don't tell anyone." I smirked, looking around the park to make sure nobody heard that.
I got up and walked towards the parking lot of the park. Looking around to see if there was a car that would fit our luggage and Daniella's animals comfortably. I walked over to the corner of the parking lot away from all the of cameras and such. I picked up a few rocks and chucked them at the security cameras, smashing them so they don't work anymore. I tried to door of a Ford SUV. It opened and my heart started to pound. I climbed into the drivers seat and popped the bottom covering of the dashboard off.
After cutting a few wires a retying a few the car turned on. I smirked, climbing out of the driver's seat. "You know how to drive or do you need me to?" I smirked, assuming that she would know how to drive seeing as that she was a year older than me.

For some reason, I actually found his ability to hot wire a car a little attractive. It was stupid, illegal but, more importantly it was fun. "Probably, but this is something I have to see." I watched him take out the camera close by and nodded in approval. Zander opened the car, which happened to be unlocked, and hot wired the car. The car sprung to life and I climbed into the driver's seat.
"You can drive, for now, and then I'll take over if you ever get tired." I shrugged. But as we pulled out of the parking lot, I told him to stop. "Wait, now it's your turn to be impressed." I didn't know how I could do this but I just felt as though I could. I closed my eyes and tried to imagine that the car we were stealing was a replica. Not the actual car. When I opened my eyes again, the same SUV we were in was sitting back in it's original spot.
"There, now we don't have to worry about us getting arrested for a stole vehicle." Zander drove off. Thanos lied down in the back, ready for sleep and Hayden sat on my lap. Slowly, I stroked her feathers. My guess was we were a good several hours before reaching Hade's lair. Which meant several hours in a car with a Zander. I wasn't saying it was bad. We didn't really talk much on the train because I practically passed out from exhaustion. Now that I had been fed and was, clearly, awake this was going to be different. Then again, Zander and I had agreed to start over.
"So," I began a little awkwardly, "Zander, besides preferring the night time, loving to eat Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, tell me about yourself. What's your dad like? You're step-dad, I mean. I'm already aware of your real father." This trip might have been long but it was time that didn't need wasting.

Don't love me for who I'm not... I looked back at where the SUV had been parked, seeing the same car sitting there. "Wow good thinking. I would have suggest changing the license plates with a neighboring car....But your idea was way better." I smirked, amazed at how different she really is than what I thought.
This was going to be an interesting car ride. Just me and Daniella, I wasn't really counting Thanos and Hayden seeing as Daniella was the only one that could talk to them. I stopped at a red light, looking down to see a GPS in the car. I turned it on and typed in the address for the DOA Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
"He's...different. He was in the military so I traveled around a lot. He used to tell me bedtime stories about my mother. She died giving birth to me...She had a heart problem and child labor was a little to much for her. My step-dad didn't tell me that he wasn't my real dad until I was about 13 years old or so...When the monsters started chasing me." I thought for a moment. Trying to think of other things to say about my father.
"He loved photography. He always had a camera around his neck when he wasn't working on base. But, mainly he loved to take pictures of the things he loved. A ton of pictures of me and my mother....And every so often a sunset. He loved me like I was his own son and I owe him...big time." There was nothing else to really at the moment about him. I think it was a given that he was the funniest and nicest dude in the world.
"What about your dad? What's he like?" I kept my eyes on the rode, trying to focus on the two things separately. This was going to be a long trip...And I'm just hoping that this wasn't going to be the only thing that they were going to say to each other the whole trip. That would make it just awkward beyond belief.
I glanced back at Thanos and smiled before looking back at the rode. I had a dog back at home...Black and white border collie. Sweetest and smartest dog he had ever met or had. But that was besides the point. I kept my eyes on the rode and waited for Daniella's reply. But hate me for who I am... --------------------

I turned on the radio station to try and get rid of all the extra silence. Station after station, I couldn't really find anything that interesting. Finally, I settled on a rock station. As Zander talked about his dad, I couldn't help but think of my dad. By the gods, I missed him.
"Well, ever since I can remember it's always been just me and him. The Deadly Duo, he called us. He's a writer originally from Nebraska but we moved all across the country." Now that I thought about it, it was probably because of the monsters. "A few years ago, we moved to Manhattan where he met," I paused and shuttered, "Vivian and her spawn of Satan daughter Scarlet. It wasn't until I met my mother did I realize he married Vivian because of their dog Bear. He, apparently, his my scent from the monsters."
Vivian's Saint Bernard Bear was cute and adorable but smelled of sewer. Technically, it was Scarlet's job to wash him but she argued that it was always my turn to do so. Thus, sweet Bear never got washed. He always talked highly of my mother which was why I was always confused as to why he married Vivian. Most times, it even made me mad but I forgave him. He did it all for me. He put with her and her devil child because it was for my own good. I just didn't realize it.
I watched the scenery pass by as Zander continued to drive. Hayden's head went in all sorts of directions as she watched everything. I almost felt like she was given to me as a guardian but also as a friend. She brought me comfort when I seemed to need it. I turned back to Zander trying to think of something to ask him. This was harder than and I thought. I wasn't even sure why I was beginning to get nervous. "So," I began trying to think, "what's your favorite movie of all time?"

Don't love me for who I'm not... I listened as she talked about her father, he seemed like a nice guy. Author....I had read a few books by an author originally from Nebraska. I kept driving and thought about her question. I had a ton of favorite movies but I had finally figured out which was my favorite.
"I would have to say that my favorite movie is I Am Legend. You said your father was an author? Name? Or a few books he's written?" Zander kept his eyes on the road and pulled onto the 5 freeway. He accelerated to the freeway speed limit and kept driving. He had read quite a few books in his spare time and his favorite ones were always by male authors. Female Authors books were to sappy and romantic for him.
I nodded my head a bit in time to the music, rock just so happened to be one of my favorite types of music and I was shocked with Daniella turned it on instead of skipping past it. I would have thought most girls would hate music like this. But then again she was proving to be way different than any girl he had ever met.

I was shocked. Out of all the movies he could have picked it was I Am Legend. "That's my favorite movie too!" I almost shouted. Hayden flapped her wings at the loud noise. I went back to stroking her. "Oo, sorry girl." Hayden calmed down and I turned back to Zander remembering all that my father had written.
"Well, in the beginning he wrote biographies for people. Famous celebrities, politicians, people like that. But after some convincing from his favorite daughter," I said with a slyish smile, "he decided to write romance novels but nothing too romantic. Not like female writers. Ever heard of The Shadows Among the Young series written by Gerald Jacobs? That's my dad."
Even though he was my dad, The Shadows Among the Young series was my favorite. It started out as a bedtime story for when I couldn't sleep. When I grew older, I reminded him of the stories and convinced him to put it in a book. The series was about a boy who found an American Indian tribe that learned the ways of nature and all it's energy. In the series, the boy discovers his own ability to master the elements. Along the way he meets a girl of the tribe who helps him learn to control this new ability. Something no one else has been able to do since the beginning of time.
My father always told me that he based the girl, the love interest, after me. She was spunky, beautiful and had a heart of gold. Something he constantly reminded me I had but I never could see. I was always his first to read the books when they were finished. Sometimes, I would add my say in what I thought should happen or even tell him what I would have done in that situation. Giving him more of a reason to base the girl off of me. I've never been able to find a better book.

Don't love me for who I'm not... "Your dad wrote The Shadows Among the Young?!?!?! That is my favorite book series ever!!! I raised my voice, forgetting that Hayden didn't seem to like people screeching and yelling. But it was true. I read the books when they first came out and I fell in love with them. There was something about the books, maybe it was the fact that I love nature and that the boy reminded me of myself?
I shrugged it off and kept driving, stifling a small yawn. Driving got boring pretty fast but it was nice having Daniella in the car to keep my company. "Have you ever thought about being a writer like your father? He's amazing! I'm sure the talent must have been passed down to you.. I smiled slightly and kept my eyes on the road. At first I thought this was going to be a long car ride but it was proving to be much more pleasant with having Daniella along with me.
We still had a few hours drive ahead of us but things seemed to be looking up. Surprisingly Daniella and I were getting along instead of yelling fighting and arguing. I reached up and scratched my nose, I had had an insatiable itch there for quite awhile and I just didn't take the time to take my hands off the steering wheel to itch it.

Hayden fluttered her wings as Zander yelled. I tried to calm her down and it, surprisingly worked. "Really?! Wow, that's amazing." I couldn't believe it. Not only had he read my father's books, but they were his favorite as they were mine. In a way, I found this all strange that we both liked I Am Legend and we both liked my father's books. In the back of my mind, I felt as if it was destiny. Call it a magical intuition. Though, he didn't strike me as the kind of guy that would read my father's books.
When he had asked me if I, too, wanted to write or if I had written anything. I was almost tempted not to tell him. No one really knew that I wrote anything. Besides my dad, of course. I never told Vivian or Scarlet because, well, it was Vivian and Scarlet. I never told my friends at school because I was never in school long enough to make friends. My father and I were always moving and when we finally settled, I didn't really know how to make friends. Not to mention, everyone thought I was weird to begin with. Scarlet helped with that.
"Well," I said a little nervously, "I have actually though no one's ever read any of my stuff. Not even my dad. It's not that great. Not as great as his, anyway." I shrugged. Most of the stuff I had written were poems about birds and trees. However, recently, I was working on a book but I didn't really think it was going anywhere.
It seemed weird that Zander and I were actually getting along. I never thought we really would. Annabeth had told me about the Sons of Ares. Most of them had anger problems like their dad but Zander was alright. It didn't seem to have an anger problem he was quite the opposite actually.

Don't love me for who I'm not... "If I ever get to Id love to read some of your work. I bet its amazing." He smiled, letting out a small yawn. He wasn't really tired but driving wears you down quickly. He never really cared for driving anyways. He looked around the car, trying to see if there was a clock anywhere. He gave up, deciding that if anything was needed at a certain time his body would remember, such as food.
He had tried writing once, he used to write a lot of short stories for his own enjoyment. A lot of his writing inspiration came from Daniella's father although he was never able to write as well as he was. In fact, he wasnt even that good. After a while of trying and pretty much failing he gave it up. He stuck to reading the books instead of writing them. He got more pleasure out of reading than writing anyways.
Glancing the side he notices something that wouldn't normally be there. He shrugged it off, assuming that he was probably just seeing things. If he saw it again he would bring it up to Thanos and Daniella and see if it needed to be addressed or just ignored...

We had talked for hours. Eventually, we stopped at a local gas station to grab some food. I was eating cheddar popcorn with a diet coke. Cheddar popcorn was always my favorite snack. "No, false," I said as I continued our conversation, "Pirates are not greater than Ninja's. I'm sorry. Pirates may have Johnny Depp, but Ninja's have Jet Li and Jackie Chan."
Over the past few hours I had learned a lot about Zander. He was sweet, not as arrogant as I thought and actually quite charming. Nothing like Ares, a god who loves to fight anything that can move. We had grown closer as friends. I was even starting to like him.
I looked down at the clock on the radio and was rather surprised. We had talked for so long I had barely noticed that we were almost there. Time was flying and so were we. Not to mention, we didn't see a single police car in sight. Amazingly, enough. But I was sad to see our trip was almost over. In a matter of hours, we would find the weapon and turn it loose wherever that was. There was something about the one part of the prophecy that I didn't get.
You must travel the world and set it free.
Well, I knew it was talking about the weapon but set it free where? This was something I had to ask my mother. Along the trip, I had been skimming the magic book for future reference. In the back, it had told me a way to actually communicate with my mother but it would have to wait until we actually had the weapon.

Don't love me for who I'm not... "If you say so..." I took a huge bite out of my drumstick ice cream cone and smiled. The trip had gone by a lot faster than I had expected. We only have about half an hour left till we arrived at the recording studio, where we would hopefully find the weapon and put and end to this quest. I looked out of the corner of my eye, seeing the same thing I had seen hours ago. Everyone I look this person with piercing eyes was staring at us.
"Hey Daniella do you see that lady over there?" I gestured toward the lady without making it seem like I was talking about her. She had these eye that reminded me of the Fury we had seen on the bus and the Furies we had to deal with at Frankies... Maybe it was a Fury. "Do you think it's a Fury?"
I stuck my hand in my pocket, playing with Laconic. I was so tempted to just pull it out and walk over there. Slice my sword through her torso and put Laconic away again. So simple yet...So not right. I couldn't quite for sure tell if that was a Fury or not until she smiled. My eyes got big for a second and my hand gripped Laconic in it's pocket knife form. The lady I had been staring at seconds ago had turned into a hideous beast...A Fury. Just our luck, right as we are about to be where we need to be we have to deal with a freaking Fury.
"She's been following us. I saw her a few hours ago on the freeway..." I dropped my ice cream in the trash can and pulled out Laconic, opening the blade and allowing it to turn into its full form. "Its just one so it shouldn't be t...." Just as I had started saying that two more Furies came out of no where. They were stalking us...Like they had nothing better to do. This was the seventh Fury I had seen in my life time...and the seventh Fury of the entire quest. I groaned, getting ready for them to come at us.

I smiled in victory that I had won the conversation. In my mind I did. Zander looked over at a woman and I tried not to make it obvious but I had no choice but to look over. The woman looked over at us and I had this feeling. She wasn't human just like the woman on the bus. Thanos, who was right beside me, growled. It was definitely obvious now.
"Yup, definitely a fury." I said. The woman smiled evilly and turned into her true hideous form. Thankfully, there weren't a lot of people around to see this. However, it was only one which meant Zander would do just fine. That is, until, more began to fly out nowhere. I grabbed the mascara tube from my pocket and twisted the cap in the opposite direction. The Naginita grew to it's original length and I felt joy in it's feeling.
One fury lunged for me and I swung at the creature. More began to show. Even Thanos began to bite and scratch at each one. They were coming and they were coming fast. According to the spell book, Furies were followers of Hades. This only confirmed to me that Hades had to have the weapon or else he wouldn't have sent all these Furies at us.
Finally, I lifted up my Naginita and slammed it down on the ground. "Fulgur!" I shouted. Lighting erupted from my the tip of my weapon and struck several Furies. Thanos ran and jumped at one but the Fury swung at him and knocked him against the building. "Thanos!" I screamed but I couldn't get to him. More Furies were coming.
