It's sort of embarrasing, but, I have a problem. I don't always say much and when I'm thinking of something to say I mess up my spelling and look like a total fool.

Espeon3340 It's sort of embarrasing, but, I have a problem. I don't always say much and when I'm thinking of something to say I mess up my spelling and look like a total fool. It happens to the best of us. Hey, guys! Check it out! I'm typing! I'm actually typing. Hehe....

A very good idea, if I may say so myself. One thing I do know is grammar, or recognizing it, is a poor spot in my ability to use English while typing or writing. Now I do my best to correct what I do notice, as well as influence others by posting fairly decently in threads loaded with newb rper's[ You will also have to pardon the fact that I abbreviate a large variety of words when making references to role playing, mainly just to those extremely long words or wordings where an acronym or abbreviation that is done correctly is acceptable.] and teaching them up to a fair state of ability.
If i'm debating a point, for example at least, I will do my best to keep things organized, but usually if i'm making a post of a size equivalent to a debate I won't do much mroe to fix it then correct mistakes if I notice them. I get slack here solely because I want to get a point across asap, although in a conversation like this I will take my time and do my best to get everything correct.
I read a large variety of books, mainly fiction and sci-fi/fantasy, yet I must agree it helps alot. In fact I reccomend it to people I try to teach.
More to come after I fix my glasses. I've managed to strip one of the screws on the left lens and typing half blind is giving me a headache.

A question for Fiendsworth:
What about the occasional "wanna" instead of want to? I'm kind of in the habit of doing that sometimes. That's pretty much the only mistake I'll make regularly, though. I usually proof read my posts. Unless it's past two o'clock in the morning. Then, I get a little lazy, but that's understandable isn't it?
Also, what about "yup"? I say that sometimes too.

I'm so glad someone decided to create a thread for the express purpose of grammar correctness! Many of my friends can't type very well, even on class papers stare , and it starts to bug me after a while. I just can't understand why some people don't want to take the time to proofread their posts! Or stories on fanfiction sites. Now don't get mad at me for being high and mighty because I'm guilty of major typos myself. We all are once in a while and that's ok as long as it doesn't become a horrible, irreversible, habit. So go with the advice to read as much as you can because that does help. My mom says that's the only reason I can type legibly. sweatdrop

This is an absolute wonderful thread. To fix my problems I have asked all that I talk to for help in pointing out any mistakes I make, spelling or otherwise. I had no idea "you're" even existed at one point o_o;. I also often use dictionary.com to help with my spelling, etc. smile

remirez08 Well, im kinda afraid to ask this, but, could you help me with my spelling/grammer. pleaz. it would be gratly apriciated. Invest in a dictionary. They even have them online. And it's "appreciated." (I also double-checked with a dictionary to verify my faulty memory.)

It's leetspeak. Or leetspeek. The numbers supposedly look like letters. I just don't get why some people type like that. I mean it's just so much easier to use the rest of the keyboard for Athena'a sake!
