Alexandra. And no, I have no idea of what origin it is. My last name does sound a lot like Pushkin, though some of the letters are different. Also, I highly doubt that any of my ancestors were Russian or anything. There are too many blank spaces for me to figure it out though.

As for Alexandra's origin, searching Google it turns out that it's Greek.

The Origin of the name is supposed to be English/Scottish
And the meaning of it was: "Feminine of Lorne from Loren referring to the laurel tree symbolic of honor or victory."
Apparently the name was created by the novelist R. D. Blackmore for the Heroine character in his novel 'Lorna Doone' (I actually have the book...)

Its different and so far not as commonly known as alot of names that i hear out and about but i like it coz it fits me i think ^_^
