Kalan turned his head hearing Mirela's voice as Hikari seemed to go into her own little world.
Hearing her question he pointed at the laughing flame wielding psycho woman and let out a nervous chuckle.
"Yolor's back...." Kalan said before turning his attention back to Sora and Saken.
"Sorry for being late as you can see I got a little sidetracked."
Seeing Strength move next to him he gave a small nod but at the moment the three didn't need to attack.

Yolor though powerful was still only person, instead of sending everyone forward it would be easier to offer support to the one's attacking.
"By time we reach her she'll have recovered so it's better to knock her off balance for that little girl to land a hit."
Kalan allowed a piece of straw to fly out of his sleeve before moving it to the outside of his sleeve.
Bringing his hand a few inches from it he slowly brought it back extending the straw and causing it to vibrate.
"Saken!"

Hearing his name Saken turned to see Kalan holding a piece of straw against his arm.
Kalan yelled to him as Sora cut through the men in front of her.
"Dark Justice!"
Hearing the name Saken nodded and turned his body to the side as he built darkness into his hand.
"Miss Strength if this misses be ready to stop her men from swarming us. Mirela be ready to attack straight ahead of us if I miss to hinder their attack."
Kalan released the straw his robe fluttering from the release as the large straw flew forward.
Saken created a dark orb in the straw's path catching it before covering it in darkness and forcing the straw into the air.
A mirage of the straw faded in the darkness as Saken looked up at the piece of straw guiding it through the darkness.

Yolor grinned seeing Sora approaching her especially with her light.
"A child's eyes seems to shine it's brightest in it's last moments. Come and pierce me with that light!"
However before she could fire she noticed the dark straw a toothy grin forming on her face.
"Straw man wants to play too!"
Once the straw was over Yolor Saken snapped his fingers causing the straw to break apart.
Yolor grinned as the large piece of straw broke into hundreds of tinier pieces that rained down still covered in darkness.
Yolor directed his fire attack into the sky causing twelve pillars of flame to circle around her aiming for the straw.
However as the fire came in contact with the straw it dissipated causing the fire to go through it.
"What?"

Kalan grinned as the real piece of straw shot out from the shadows.
"Even through darkness Justice shines through!"
"He used the shadows of the flames to hide the real attack!"
Yolor tried to move away from the incoming projectile but Sora was already upon her by the time she could move.
Distracted Yolor took the strike letting out a loud yell as she stumbled back as blood burst form her body.
Her eyes fell on Sora as she grit her teeth, blood trickling out of her mouth
"I'll enjoy carrying your ashes around my-
The straw slammed into Yolor's chest hurling her back before she could finish her sentence.
She went through two buildings before she slammed through one more creating a large hole in it.

Saken ran up standing next to Sora and tried to look through the dust to see Yolor before seeing her men retreating into the shadows.
He turned back to the first building to see a bloody hand grip the wall before Yolor stepped out crimson flowing down her face and arms.
A small grin formed on her face as she straightened her body.
Black smoke started to circle around her as she let out a low chuckle.
"So much fun.....I'll return to rip that light from you. Fairies."
The smoke fully consumed her as she vanished leaving behind a small bloody puddle.

Kalan let out a small sigh and took out his book before turning a few pages.
"If not for that young lady that might not have hit," Kalan mumbled.
He wrote something in the book and closed it before sticking it back into his pocket.
"That handles Yolor but there's still the flames-"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The tavern owner raised his hand to activate his contract when a wave of blood ran through village.
He quickly dismissed the contract before turning his back.
"It's best she doesn't find me."
With that the tavern owner faded into the darkness the blue seal fading along with him.
The blood moved to the side consuming the flames around everyone leaving a red trail as it moved through the street.
The blood avoided any people as it weaved through the alleyways and rooftops consuming the fire before coming to a rest at the end of the flames.
Kalan's heart skipped as he turned to find the source.
"Father!"
He drew his straw expecting Kervani but froze seeing the blood pour back into a swords sheath.
Kalan froze as his eyes landed on the owner of the sheath.
A tall woman with long blue twin tails sheathed her sword before turning her attention to the group.
She wore a long white trench coat like garment with white pants and black boots.
Her blue eyes rested on the group before she closed her eyes.
"Crimson shall cleanse your purity."
The woman's voice was stern with a calmness to it, a tinge of anger was hidden beneath it however.
"If you are done I'd recommend leaving, this is not the place for fools to linger. Especially with the guards approaching."

Hearing Kalan exclaim 'Father!' caused Mirela's entire body to flinch. Old memories began rushing through her mind, and hearing the strange woman's voice was enough to pull her back. She was glad that Yolor was gone, and was equally glad that the flames had been extinguished as well. With a small sigh of relief, Mirela lowered her weapon and its bow to her sides. She glanced around looking for the case and started to move toward it after finding it, but was stopped when Inae spoke to her.

"Mirela, you do realize that this is a new low for you, right?" Inae glanced over to Strength as she spoke, noticing that her attention had been focused on the woman. "The fight ended as soon as we arrived. This was nothing but a waste of time..." She muttered the last part under her breath before making her way over to Strength. "...Tarot VIII - Strength. Dismiss."

Inae remained silent as Strength reverted to her wispy form before finally disappearing. The card that the summoned warrior had been holding began a slow descent toward the ground, but just before it could reach it, Inae reached down and snatched it. She smoothed it out a little before returning to her pouch, only to see that Mirela had been staring at her. "...What?"

"Are you positive that Miu didn't follow you?" Mirela made her way over toward the case before putting away the viola and tossing it back over her shoulders, holding the handle of the case up with only two fingers. She glanced over at Inae, and there was a brief moment of silence between the two of them, broken only when Inae turned her head and began to lightly scratch her face with a single finger with a very disinterested and guilty look on her face.

"Inae?"

"What?"

"What about Miu?"

"To be completely honest, I forgot that she thinks I'm looking for her." A half smile made its way onto Inae's lips as she smoothed out her skirt, completely ignoring Mirela. "You know, instead of just standing around, you could be heading back to see if she's alright."

Mirela narrowed her eyes a bit at Inae, but eventually let out a small sigh, seeing that she just wouldn't be able to win that argument. "Fine, I'll start heading back. I don't really want to be here when the guards arrive." The woman glanced between her comrades before giving them all a warm smile. "You're all more than welcome to come with me. There's enough room for everyone at my home."

"Oh, don't start this aga--"

"Kalan, we still have more to talk about, so I'd really appreciate it if you didn't keep me waiting any longer."

"Mirela, these people are NOT stepping one foot insi--"

"It's really no problem, in fact, I insist. I'll lead the way." Keeping up with her smile, Mirela turned on her heel and began walking toward her home, not once glancing back to see if anyone would actually follow her.

"...That... That... No good harlot really gets my blood boiling... I can't stand that woman!" Inae clenched her tiny hand into a fist before she struck Kalan with a fierce glare. "You're lucky that you found her before I put her in the ground. She's been digging her own grave for seven damn years and I can't wait to put her in it."

Turning away from everyone, Inae muttered a few profanities under her breath before she began to briskly walk away, moving her tiny legs as fast as possible, trying to catch up to Mirela.

--------------------

Miu squirmed inside her hiding place, her whines now quite audible. "I... I can't hold it... I gotta go poddy... I..." She paused for a moment, blinking a few times before a big smile came onto her face. "Nevermi-- Oops.." She quieted her voice down a little. "Nevermind... I can hold it some more..."

Kalan kept his attention on the woman but looked at Mirela as she spoke.
He let out a nervous chuckle before rubbing the back of his head at the invitation.
However when she spoke directly to him he gave a small nod.
He looked at Inae when she spoke to him before watching her go.
Kalan ran his his hand through his hair and let out a small chuckle.
"It'd be nice to see Inae smile with happiness and not malice one day," Kalan mumbled turning back to Saken who was approaching him.
A part of him was concerned however what would make Inae happy and Mirela's safety.
The other half wanted to punish Saken but he decided to do it another way than physically.
"Saken keep Hikari company," Kalan said as he stopped near her.
"Oh I'd be happy to do that," Saken said sticking his hands in his pocket.
"Do you want her skull afterwards? I may give it to the hag as a new bowl."
"I meant keep her company without hurting her,"
"....I can't promise that."
"Then I can't promise not remembering 'the accident'"
Saken flinched and averted his faze for a moment.
"...fine."
"I'm glad we understand each other."
Kalan pat Saken's shoulder before turning and walking after Mirela.
"Nala come on,"
Nala walked out of the shadows and glanced back at Saken before walking after Kalan.

Saken sighed and turned his attention to Hikari before walking up to her.
"Oi freak. You awake?"
Saken waved his hand in front of his face before crossing his arms seeing no response from her.
"Hey!"
Saken made sure Kalan wasn't still around before rubbing his hands together.
"Don't say I didn't try."
He turned his body as he brought his right hand forward slapping Hikari on her right cheek his hand continually moving with the momentum.
"Snap out of it."
While waiting for her to respond his eyes went to her neck.
He saw his hands wrapping around them in his mind and tried to force it down.
He wouldn't squeeze if he did....just knowing he could end her would be enough to sustain him for now.
He closed his hand into a fist fighting the urge as he kept his attention on her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The woman remained silent as she watched the others disperse.
"Miss Vivian,"
The woman turned her attention as a man in a dark cloak knelt next to her.
His face was hidden by the black cloak except for black hair that poked out the top of head.
He wore dark gloves on his hands, a small bracelet on each wrists.
"Have the intruders retreated," Vivian said keeping her attention on the remaining people.
"They've run away for the most part. It seems when their leader fell they retreated."
"Mommy!"
Vivian turned to see another cloaked figure land next to her, except it was the size of a small child.
"I ripped the slow one's apart from the inside out. My talisman's have red on them! They weren't very fun to play with though."
Vivian gave a small nod before turning her attention back to the group.
"Vilos take him back to the hideout. I'll catch up soon,"
"Understood,"
Vilos and the child vanished from view as Vivian turned and walked away, vanishing into an alleyway.

The sting of Saken's hand on her cheek woke Hikari from her stupor, her teeth gritting as her head shot to the side.

"What the hell!?"

"Quiet yourself...both of you."

The tiny girl known as Sora slowly approached the two, her blue beret hiding her eyes. A small sigh escaped the small girl as she stopped, her arm lifting as she removed her hat to stare at the duo before her. Her eyes were of the deepest blue, her young face pure and soft. An blank, aggrevated expression adorned the young girl as a hand emerged from her cloak, a finger pointing at Hikari.

"Who were those people and why did you bring them here?"

Hikari's attention perked as the young girl spoke, rubbing her rose colored cheek as the sting resonated through it. Sora stepped closer, her hand retracting into her cloak, her eyes darting up and down the young woman before her.

"Why the hell would I bring people out to kill me here? That doesn't even make sense."

"According to Birth you'd have company, I highly doubt she meant this brooding waste of space."

Sora flashed a look back to Saken then back to Hikari, her gaze fixed on Hikari.

Hikari was now beyond confused, what was this girl's relationship with Birth? Did she also go through the same thing as her? Was she a weilder of light? From what she had seen from Saken he could use both the light and darkness. Why was Birth gathering light users?

"If you know Birth then why did you try killing me back there?"

"hmm? Oh that, it was merely to see if the psychotic girl massacreing people was really the girl i was looking for."

Hikari's eye twitched at her words, her mind flashing back to her outburst in the crowd. Rather than initiate an argument, Hikari turned from the two, heading back towards her home.

"...damn her...although..I guess I really did lose it back there..like..something had taken over.."

Hikari's mind once again wandered off as she made her way down the street. Sora returned her beret back to her head as she began to follow after, stopping only briefly to turn to Saken.

"Well? Are you going to let her get away?"

Sora turned once more and ran after Hikari, her cloak fluttering behind her.

Saken's eyes darted back and forth between the two as they had their conversation.
His hand closed into a fist when the little girl's gaze moved to his for a moment.
The girl knew how to swing that blade of hers around but a good beating normally put little brats in their place.
Saken put his hand over the side of his face as he found his thoughts resembling his mothers.
He tried to ignore the disgust that rose from the depths of his very being.
Shaking his head he returned to listening the name Birth popping up in their conversation.

He watched as Hikari walked away before turning his attention to Sora as she spoke to him.
He glared at her as she ran away, however she had a point though he hated admitting it.
Kalan asked him to watch over Hikari, and from the commotion earlier he wasn't fully against the idea.
Whoever Hikari was Kalan and the little girl had some interest in her.
Darkness hovered around his hand, before he flexed it making the darkness dissipate.
"Once I get Kalan off my back, I'll snuff that light out and hang you with those chains."
Saken mumbled this to himself as he ran to catch up with the two.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The tavern owner remained still as the glint of metal filled his vision for a split second.
Crimson flowed down the side of a long sword currently against his throat.
His tired eyes moved over to the wielder of the blade, a young woman with a murderous intent in her gaze.
"Vivian, it's good to see you again," he said with a small smile.
He felt the blade push more against his throat as he spoke, Vivian stood next to him holding the blade with one hand as she glanced over at him.
She was facing forward though the tavern owner knew she could easily turn to him should she desire.
She looked exactly as she did from seven years ago, though he expected that considering what she was.
"Owner you seem to be in good health, how unfortunate,"
The tavern owner was silent as Vivian lowered her blade, he took notice that she didn't sheath it as she turned to him.
Her eyes seemed to move from him to the spot behind him before she spoke.
I will pay you back for lying to me owner, however I won't kill you in front of your new puppet."
The tavern owner glanced behind him to see Vel standing a few feet behind him holding her broom.
He watched as Vivian turned and faded into darkness before turning to face Vel.
He gave a silent thanks for her being nearby getting only a small as a response.
With a small sigh he turned and walked away rubbing his throat as he did, Vel walking a few feet behind him.

"You both can sleep down here....away from me"

Hikari had unwantingly welcomed her newly found companions into her home for the night.

The sun had set on an eventful day, the night slowly creeping in over the town that was, but a few hours ago, thrown into chaos. Little did our heroes know, that was but the prelude to the chaos that would soon swallow the world once again.

Deep in the underworld, a bright light shone through the darkness. Birth had returned to the prison she had locked her brother away in so many years ago. An intense look adorned her as she approached the throne that her brother had treasured so. Flames danced in the shadows and screams rang through the hallowed halls of the underworld. Birth's eyes locked onto a giant set of doors, sealed tight by the keeper of the underworld, a sense of anxiousness filling her.

Her gaze quickly set back to her brother, a small glimmer of light filling her eyes.

"Death...it's time we spoke."

The sun slowly swallowed the darkness that was the night as morning came.
It's light banished the darkness as it started to spread through a large green field.
A small red flame popped up in the middle of the grassy field, it flickered in the wind and slowly grew larger.
The sun's light reached the town when a large explosion erupted in the distance.
A giant red pillar of hellfire exploded from the ground, black balls of hellfire circling around the outside of it.

A black figure hovered in the midst of the flames before more pillars shot up creating a small circle of hellfire.
The grass was covered in flames creating and endless sea of fire as the earth crumbled away in the center of the pillars.
A vortex of demons shot out from the center of the earth and spiraled into the sky before falling away from each other.
Resembling a willow tree they fell towards the earth, crashing into the flames below.
Reaper slowly rose from the large hole in the center of the pillars a toothy grin on his face.
His arms were crossed as he fully emerged from the hole, standing on the head of a large old man who's tired eyes rested on the village in the distance.
The grandfather carrier served as Reaper's platform without a complaint as Reaper raised his arm.

A chariot flew out of the hole it's skulls flying off it and flying through the air causing Reaper to chuckle.
Jumping off the grandfather he landed on his chariot and guided it through the hellfire creating a line of red fire along the pillars.
He turned his chariot and hovered above the army of demons that stood amongst the flames below him.
Behind him the pillars exploded creating a giant black hellfire tornado behind him as the grandfather turned it's head to the sky.
Opening it's mouth the screams of the departed could be heard as demons flew out of it's mouth into the flames turning into flaming meteors.
The meteors fell around Reaper exploding into the ground around him in an eruption of flame.
The skulls from his chariot formed the name 'Reaper' behind him as he took in a big whiff of the air.
"The smell of decaying flesh and endless misery always makes my day. Go and bring never ending misfortune!"

The demons charged the village as Reaper watched with a small smile.
"I wonder what heroes shall be born amongst the chaos...if they aren't consumed by it."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saken slowly opened his eyes as he picked up the sound of what seemed to be a large explosion.
He looked around as he took in his surroundings trying to find the source of the noise.
He recognized the bakery and recalled yesterday before putting his hand against his head.
For some reason he had developed a headache just from thinking of yesterday's events.
With a small sigh he stood up and decided to get some air, since he couldn't fully leave Hikari and the little girl's side for awhile.
Walking out of the bakery he stretched and yawned trying to force himself to fully wake up.

Saken made his way to the rooftop and turned to meet the rising sun's beauty.
However what he saw instead was a horde of ugly creatures fast approaching the village.
He rubbed his eyes and took another look as he assumed his imagination was messing with him.
After a few seconds and the flames in the distance he realized it was real and slapped both his cheeks.
Saken built darkness into his hand and aiming it down shot a hole through the roof large enough to fit his head in.
Kneeling down he stuck his head through the hole before yelling.
"Unless you wanna die wake up! We're under attack!"
Saken built darkness into his hand as the demons drew closer.
"I'm starting to understand why they didn't want me to come here."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Kalan wake up, there's something going on outside."
Kalan let out a small mumble and shuffled a little before turning to look at Nala.
She stood by the window with the curtains closed, her attention fully focused on him.
Kalan had returned to the inn at Nala's request, and to keep the Lovel family safe.
Somehow leaving Nala in a house full of sleeping people she didn't care for seemed like a bad idea.
He walked over to the window and put his hand over his mouth as he yawned.
Looking down at Nala he watched as she walked away from the window before sitting on her bed.

Kalan shrugged and took in a deep breath before a small smile found it's way onto his face.
"I think it'll be a good day today Nala," Kalan said gripping the curtains. "Now what's going on out-"
Kalan cut himself off as he stared into the eyes of a floating old head outside his window.
"......haven't we met before?"
The carrier opened it's mouth and roared shattering the glass of the window and causing Kalan's hair and clothing to flutter.
The roaring stopped and the grandfather continued to stare at Kalan.
Without a word Kalan slowly closed the curtains and turned to Nala.
"We need to go."
"You want to go meet the giant floating head?"
"Mirela may be out there along with Saken and the others. Besides if we stay in here I'll be at a disadvantage, in both battle and money."
Nala got off the bed and checked her dagger before walking towards the door.
"I don't see the point. If they're alive I have to listen to them if they're dead they have nothing good on them."
Kalan threw on his priest garment and ran after Nala, memories flooding his mind.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The tavern owner looked at Vel who was wiping off the tables nearby.
He let out a content sigh at the silence of the morning, however short it may be.
He always enjoyed the quiet before the customers came in, it was a tranquility he wouldn't trade for anything.
"Boss, it appears demons are approaching the tavern."
The tavern owner stopped cleaning his mug and stared at Vel, her attention focused outside the window.
"Are you certain about that?" The tavern owner asked turning his attention back to the mug.
"Unfortunately I am very certain. I think it is his work,"
"How long until they get here?"
"Roughly ninety-two seconds,"
The tavern owner bent down and opened a small door that led to the cellar.
"I didn't think we'd have to use the 'Reaper' door again. Hurry in,"
Vel gave a small nod and walked over to the door before walking down the steps holding up her dress in the process.
The tavern owner close the door and went back to cleaning his mug.
The demons burst through the tavern's door and flew at the tavern owner, he glanced at them causing the demons to screech and divide into two groups.
They circled around the tavern owner and out the other wall continuing through the village.
The tavern owner waited until they left before looking at his tavern with a small sigh.
He opened the door to cellar before yelling down to Vel.
"Get the mop while your down there Vel!"

Hearing the explosion from outside, Mirela's eyes shot open. In an attempt to get out of bed, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and lifted herself up. She took a step, only to have her face become well acquainted with the hardwood floor below her, followed by an 'Ouchie!' belonging to a familiar high-pitched and childlike voice. Mirela's eye twitched violently as she pried herself up off of the ground, wiping off a bit of blood from beneath her nose in the process. After finally getting back onto her feet, Mirela glanced down to see Miu sitting down in the spot she had tripped. She began to wonder what Miu had been doing there, before finally realizing that Miu had been the culprit for her fall. Mirela was angry with her, but that anger seemed to wash away completely at the sight of Miu's innocent-like face. What was once a look of anger turned into one of adoration as Mirela leaned down to pick the child up, but stopped halfway upon hearing another familiar voice.

"Hmph... So much for dancers being graceful."

Inae stood across the room, leaning up against the wall, arms crossed, with one foot up against the wall behind her. In her left hand, between her index and middle finger, rested one of her cards. Her gaze was on neither Miu nor Mirela, but was fixated on the wall to her left. "Things aren't looking good outside, if you had woken up earlier, you wouldn't have smashed your face into the floor..." Inae then turned her gaze to Mirela, only to quickly return it back to where it once was, this time with a slight blush on her cheeks. "Go get dressed into some decent clothes, as decent as your clothes can get at least..."

Mirela straightened herself before glancing downward at her own body to see that she was in fact still in her nightgown. It didn't really bother her that much seeing that Inae was right-- She couldn't really investigate what was going on dressed like that. What did bother her however, was seeing the blush on Inae's cheeks. "Inae... Are you blushing?"

"So what if I am!" The tiny woman snapped at Mirela's words, only to shut her eyes as her blush became a little worse. "Its not because of you or anything... Its just hot in here..."

"Nuh uh, Auntie Inae! Its not hot in here!" Miu giggled a little bit, standing up before climbing up onto Mirela's bed and bouncing around on it. "I... Think... You're going... Crazy~!" The pauses in her statement were caused by each jump she made on the bed. The small child giggled a little more before finally rotating her body, allowing herself to fall flat on her back onto the bed, her arms and legs spread wide. She flopped when she touched down, before rolling over onto her stomach and crawling off of the bed. "Hey, hey, Momma... Can we go find Daddy? Pretty pretty please?" She folded her arms across her chest, stomping one foot onto the ground with a pout. "He still owes me candy."

Mirela was quiet as she made her way over to the window. She opened it up before leaning out to see what all of the commotion was. Upon finding her answer, she quickly drew back inside, slamming the window shut behind her and locking it before pulling the curtains together. Mirela turned to Inae and Miu once more, greeting them with a nervous look on her face. "Finding Daddy sounds like a good idea..."

"Yay~!" Miu began to clap happily, obviously excited about the idea of finding Kalan. She ran out of Mirela's room and into the main room, running around wildly. "Hurry up and get dressed, Momma!" She exclaimed, grabbing her hat off of the corner of a chair before placing it onto her head. "Hurry up! I wanna go find Daddy!"

--------------------

Inae shook her head with a small sigh at Miu's excitement, as it was something that she didn't quite share with her. Instead, Inae glanced at Mirela with a serious look on her face. She had glanced out her own window prior to entering Mirela's room, so the look on her face was no surprise. "As much as I'd rather not ask, what do you suppose we do about this?"

Hearing Inae's question, Mirela's eyes narrowed a little as she turned to peek out from behind the curtain once more. "We're going to help take care of it, that should be obvious." Closing her eyes for a moment, Mirela let the curtain close before turning to Inae and opening her eyes once more. The air between them seemed to grow heavier and heavier as each second passed. "I refuse to leave Miu here by herself again. If something were to happen, neither of us would be around to protect her. It might seem a little crazy, but in order to keep her safe, we'll have to take her with us..."

Inae grew silent as Mirela talked, giving a nod every now and then to show that she was still listening. When Mirela finished, Inae closed her eyes, as if deep in thought. Opening them after a few moments, she gave a final nod. "You do realize that if we take her with us, you'll be throwing away all that effort of keeping her mind pure these past seven years. Seeing all of that might break her, Mirela... You know she'll be confused when she sees everyone fight." Inae paused for a few moments before continuing. "Even if she has a power, we haven't let her use it much. We don't even know how long she can keep using it. We haven't let her practice any, Mirela. I understand why you want to bring her along, but are you positive that you really want to do it?"

"Yes, I am." Mirela let out a gentle sigh, moving over to her dresser as she began to gather her clothes for the day. "I'll get dressed as quickly as I can. While you wait, please try your best to prepare Miu for the worst." She glanced over at Inae, who met her gaze, before she continued to speak, her voice taking on a more serious but gentle tone. "The only thing we can do now is soften the blow... This was bound to happen sooner or later, as much as I hate thinking that way."

Inae nodded once more, showing that she agreed with Mirela's words. "If you say so. I'll do what I can, don't take too long, alright?" Upon seeing Mirela nod, Inae turned and left the room, leaving Mirela alone to get dressed. The two never really had serious moments like that, so the tiny woman felt something pull at her gut as she shut the door behind her before leaning up against it.

'I have a bad feeling about this...'

"Unless you wanna die wake up! We're under attack!"

Hikari awoke frantically as Saken's explosion went off above her, a spear of light shooting through the ceiling out of reflex as a scream left the young girl. Her breathing short and staggered as she tried to grasp what was happening.

"What the hell are you doing!?"

"It's exactly as he said, stop being useless and let's go."

Sora, who had awoken from the roaring sound of footsteps outside, stepped up the wooden stairs into the room, her long hair draped over her face as she placed her beret atop her head. She threw some clothes into Hikari's lap before jumping up through the hole in the ceiling, her eyes widening slightly at the site before her.

A wave of black swept over the fields just outside the town, the loud roars of the demon's footsteps rang out over the town as the screams of the damned filled the air. The air felt heavy in Sora's lungs as she gripped tightly to her blade, her heart weighed in her chest. Her teeth grit as she had stared on into the hell that had descended upon them, and she knew the results wouldn't be a good one.

"I really hope you're paying for thi....oh my"

Hikari went silent as she joined the two on the roof, speechless as to what she was witnessing. Fear had swept over the young girl as she looked on into the face of hell.

"Reaper!"
Hearing his name Reaper turned his attention down to the demon's below.
He let out a small chuckle seeing the tavern owner standing among the demons, though they moved around him to avoid contact.
Reaper made a small motion with his hands causing hellfire to rise and lift the tavern owner until he was across from him.
The tavern owner pointed back at the village as the demons tore through it before speaking.
"I suppose this is the 'surprise' you told me about? The village is being consumed!"
"Oh I wouldn't do such a thing, something like that isn't in my nature sending an army of demons into the village to tear everything apart,"
Reaper made a motion with his hands causing a green portal to open, the tavern owner turned his attention to it.
In the portal it showed similar holes to the one below them popping up in multiple locations.

"I've overrun all that exists with an army of demons. I've opened these holes around the world. Why would I do something so small as overrun a village when I can just destroy it on my own? Now overrunning all of existence is much better."
The tavern owner turned his head causing Reaper to close the portal, though he didn't like to admit it he had a point.
"You never explained why you were doing this. It seems a bit much after returning."
Reaper turned his attention back to the village before crossing his arms.
These demons are acting as a reminder."
The tavern owner was silent as Reaper continued.

"Even through those seven years of peace there was still corruption but that's never ending. These people know all too well the pain of war and the suffering that comes with it. This may have been the reason they kept them from strangling each other for seven years.
Reaper gave a small nod and paused allowing the tavern owner to take his words in.
"Still no matter how long or how much suffering they endure power still tempts them.
Reaper put his hand over his face and let out a small sigh.
"They seek to overpower and consume only to satiate their own desires."
A small grin found it's way onto Reaper's face.
"So I decided to unleash demons upon the world and bring forth misfortune. Maybe this way they'll realize their own weakness as everything they love is taken from them."
The tavern owner was silent and kept his attention on Reaper.
"Actually that sounded pretty boring let's just say I wanted to have some fun,"
"One day you'll give me a straight answer Reaper," The tavern owner said turning back to the village.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tall blue demons stumbled through the town, black blindfolds covering their eyes as they let out loud moans.
Two black spikes stuck out of each side of their head as their long arms hung at their sides, their long black claws scraping the cobblestone causing small sparks.
"Rifters,"

A small group of what seemed to be children made their way amongst the demons.
They were short little girls with long black hair, part of it covering the right side of their faces. The little girls wore stained pink dresses and the one in front held a small brown teddy bear.
Their only amber eye seemed focused ahead before one of them got on all fours.
The little girl's back opened up before a green scaly body forced it's way out leaving behind only the head of the little girl and her arms and legs.
It's long scaly tail slammed into one of the buildings before it crawled forward ahead of the rest.
"Crawlers,"

A large red demon wearing brown pants with red suspenders waddled behind the other demons.
It's large stomach seemed to bounce and growl with each step it took.
It's deformed face revealed it's green eyes and it's pointed nose, while ears rested where it's mouth wold be.
The large demon's stomach opened up into a large mouth revealing sharp pointy teeth and a large black tongue.
A rifter crawled out before shaking green slime off of it as the large red demon let out a low grumble.
"Carriers,"

A little demon scurried along the demons holding a small purple pot with both arms.
It was smaller than the crawlers and had to avoid being stepped on by the other demons.
It had red skin and it's beady black eyes glanced at the demons around it before it jumped into a nearby rifter causing the rifter to glow before it's blue skin took on a red color.
"Feeders....Asmodeus this is a perfect opportunity to find what we were looking for without interruption."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saken looked over at Hikari and Sora before turning back to the horde of demons that were running through the town.
Purple lines filled the ground below them before one went up the bakery wall.
A white light surrounded Saken's hand before the lines came to a sudden halt in front of Hikari revealing a rifter.
The rifter let out a low growl as black saliva fell out of it's mouth, it leaned it's face towards Hikari tilting it's head slightly.
It stopped inches from her face before letting out a loud roar before jumping off the roof back into the crowd of demons.

Saken glanced over at Hikari as a white hand gripped the edge of the roof.
Saken turned and walking over grabbed the hand to pull the person up only to see green skin as he followed the arm.
He screamed and released the hand causing the crawler to fall back into the horde.
Two feeders climbed onto the roof as a little girl climbed onto the roof shortly after them and stared up at the three.
"Big sister is on the way to kill the mean people."
A dark shadow covered the bakery's roof causing Saken to look up, he physically flinched seeing the eyes of a grandfather carrier staring down at him.
"That is possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen,"
The grandfather carrier opened it's mouth before Saken glanced behind them.
"Maybe we should go," Saken said.
Four swords of lights hovered behind Saken as he stared into the grandfather's eyes.
The crawlers jumped off the roofs and made their way over to them.
"Great," Saken said summoning an extra sword into his hand. "If we're moving we'll have to create an exit."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"That shop has to be around here somewhere," Kalan said.
"Mister,"
Kalan turned to see a crawler stare up at him, she held a small teddy bear as she started to approach him.
Kalan started to bend down and talk to the girl when a memory flashed through his mind.
He quickly jumped away from her and summoned a straw sword as Nala stood a few feet behind him.
"Would you like to play?"
Multiple crawlers stared crawling out of the alleyway and along the sides of the building in their child forms.
"Neila, we need to go," Kalan said returning the sword to straw.
The head crawler let out a loud screech causing the other crawlers to return to shed their human skin and run at Kalan.
Lifting Nala and holding her under his arm he quickly ran away from the crawlers as they pursued him.

Kalan turned and ran through an alley before turning into a crowd of people running towards the west side of town.
He held up his free arm as he made his way through the crowd, he came to a stop once he got out of the crowd.
He turned to see the fortune telling shop before letting out a small sigh.
"Oh thank goodness."

Kalan looked back to make sure the crawlers hadn't caught up before hearing a low growl nearby.
He felt a shiver run up his spine as the growl seemed to drain his remaining adrenaline.
He turned his head to see a grandfather carrier floating a few feet away. He watched as it's mouth opened causing two carriers to fall out.
He summoned his sword as seven crawlers, one feeder and two rifters fell out shortly after.
Kalan set Neila down before turning towards her.
"I'll protect you so stay behind me okay," Kalan said flashing her a small smile.
"I'm just going to stand over there in the alley. Could you give me the key to the room, while their feasting on your remains they may eat it,"
Nala held her hand out causing Kalan to sigh and turn back towards the demons.
"Glad to see you have confidence in me."
The demons rushed him and he brought both hands to the hilt of the sword before holding it in front of him.
"Kalan Theodore Valadres the warrior of Justice and Love shall be your opponent,"
"Are you sure opponent is the right word? I'm leaning towards unsatisfying snack,"
"Not helping Nala!"

Miu had put a stop to her own excitement once Inae came out of Mirela's room. Normally, her excitement and restlessness would have continued, but like most children, she could tell something was wrong, even if she didn't fully understand it. Miu's thoughts were confirmed by the look in Inae's eyes. Normally, they were calm and uncaring, but Miu could see something else in them. She could see fear, and this made her mind uneasy while her heart filled with worry. What could be so horrible that her Auntie Inae would all of a sudden look the way she did? However, as she watched Inae walk over to the couch and sit down, the small child scrunched her nose and took a seat beside her. Even though Miu was afraid of what the answer could possibly be, she knew that the question running through her mind needed to be asked.

"Auntie Inae.. What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

Inae seemed to be a bit surprised by Miu's question, but that was only because she rarely got to see this side of Miu. As much as Inae wanted to ignore the question and try to shift Miu's attention onto something else, she decided that it would be best to follow Mirela's wishes for once. After taking a breath to clear her mind, Inae turned her body to face Miu before reaching forward and awkwardly straightening the ribbon tied around the small child's neck, showing that she wasn't entirely used to doing motherly things. Mirela was the one that acted more like the mother, and even if she did a bad job of it, Inae knew that she couldn't do any better herself.

"Miu I'm going to be completely honest with you. No, things aren't alright. In fact, horrible things are going on right now. Danger is lurking behind every corner, hidden in every shadow. There's a lot that Mirela and I have kept from you. Well, mainly Mirela, but I'm not all that innocent either."

As Inae watched Miu very slightly tilt her head out of confusion, she paused for a moment to let things sink into her mind. When Miu looked like she was starting to understand, she continued.

"I think it would be easier to explain as we go. If I tell you everything now, it wouldn't do any good. You just need to pray that people are actually around to tell you what's going on. There's a very good chance that a lot of people are going to die today. In fact, there's an even greater chance that many people have already died, but that's something that happens to be inevitable, there's absolutely no use dwelling on it for too long. It's going to happen, the only thing you can do is move on and keep fighting for survival."

Inae let out a small sigh before continuing.

"You're going to see a lot of things that don't make sense. Most of that will come from seeing Mirela and I do things that you haven't seen us do before. There will be others that are going to be the same way. Let's just say that now would be a good time to use that power you haven't been allowed to use before... Trust me, you aren't going to get into any trouble."

"But... Auntie Inae..." Miu shifted a little, obviously still trying to take in the information that had just been given to her. "What if s--..."

"You probably shouldn't ask too many questions... Just stick close to either Mirela or myself. If we can find Kalan, feel free to stay close to him, even though it would most likely be a bad idea."

When Miu looked as if she wasn't going to ask anymore questions, Inae turned her head back over her shoulder to see that Mirela's door was still shut. "I thought she said she was going to hurry up..."

--------------------

As Mirela dressed out of her nightgown, she heard more and more commotion, which only caused her to dress even faster. Before she even realized it, she had dressed into her normal clothes and had the same viola from the day before, still in its case, held proudly in her hands. She still wasn't too proud with her decision to put Miu in danger, but she knew that she had to stick by it, at least until Kalan was found. She figured that then perhaps a better plan could be worked out. As she turned and began to leave her room, she heard a familiar voice yelling outside which caused her heart to skip a beat.

"Inae, Miu!" She shouted, tucking the case under her arm as she hurried over to her window. "I'll meet you outside! Head on out, but be careful!" After opening the window, Mirela glanced down to see the immediate threat outside the front door. A shiver quickly traveled down her spine as memories from the past began to flow through her mind, but she quickly dismissed them as she climbed out the window and onto the railing. Despite being on the second floor, she wasn't too far away from the ground. "Kalan, watch out!"

Immediately after the words left her lips, Mirela jumped off of the railing, holding the case tightly against her chest so she wouldn't lose it during the fall. As it turned out, she didn't stay airborne for as long as she thought she would, because before she knew it, she had landed with a bit of a thud behind Kalan. Her legs wobbled a bit, but she managed to keep her balance while barely holding onto the case in the process.

"I... Can't believe I did that..." After recovering from the fall, Mirela quickly removed the viola from its case and moved into playing position, kicking the case onto the porch after it dropped to the ground.

"Kalan," She began, tightening her grip on the bow. "Do you have ANY idea why the hell these things are here?! What the hell is going on??!"

"You know... Before I even begin to comment on how stupid you were for jumping down here when it would've been much easier to take the stairs, we really should focus on the things trying to kill us. You should also watch where you kick things..."

Leaving Miu on the porch, Inae walked over and took her place beside Mirela, clutching a card tightly in her hand. "Don't bother asking, Miu's on the porch. I told her what I could, so I suggest keeping an eye on her so you don't end up regretting your decision later."

Miu had backed up against the wall of the porch upon finally seeing everything that had been outside. In her hands she held a medium-sized, white pouch that had been tied together with black ribbon. Her pupils shrank greatly, and her heart had started to pound within her tiny chest. "Momma... Daddy... Auntie Inae..." Her voice had started to tremble. "Don't... Don't let them eat me... Please, please don't let them eat me!!"

"Miu... Nothing is going to eat you." Mirela glanced back at Miu with a small smile on her face before turning her gaze forward. Her eyes narrowed a bit as the demons kept coming forward. "Do we have a plan?"

"We beat them down. It seemed to work last time, didn't it?"

"Works for me."

Hikari stood motionless, her breath slow and calm, her eyes widened as fear had begun to set in. Streaks of light shot through her eyes as her mind flashed back, the images of demons ripping through a town she had seen only in her dreams. The smell of their bodies disintegrating filled her nostrils as memories of a massive light tore through their bodies filled her mind vividly. As she stood motionless, her body began to glow, the sound of metal knocking against itself filled the roof top as chains of light slowly coiled up her slender arms, the fabric of her jacket tightening around her. Her black gloves let off a tint of light before flashing, two daggers of light appearing in her hands.

Hikari was soon snapped out of her thoughts as a beam of light slammed into the roof top, emerging from it a white cloaked figure, their tinted cloak dancing wildly as the light sent the demons flying back, fading into dust as their screams filled the sky, alerting the army below. An arrow of light shot forward, exploding in the distance as the figure stood, spinning to launch another from their palm, decimating the hoards of demons surrounding the group on the roof. The explosion that followed the second arrow sent the figure's hood flying back, revealing a bright. slender face. Birth now stood exposed, her bright glowing eyes staring off into the blast, a serious demeanor washed over her face.

Birth Quickly turned to the three, her eyes resting upon Hikari.

"This should buy you an opening to escape. You three are my chosen saviors...My sister..Virtue has been kidnapped. Hikari, your father saved this world seven years ago..but now I must turn to you, my new envoy of light. Please..save this world from darkness once more."

Sora's eyes immediately locked on the girl, shocked at her revealed title. She was the daughter of Kobayashi? The man responsible for the weapon she tightly gripped in her hand?

"Hikari Kobayashi...I know your past is hazy, that's mostly my fault..I can't fully explain now, but I can give you this."

Birth pressed a finger to Hikari's forehead, causing her body to glow brightly. Hikari's light began to shake and spark, it's wavelengths beginning to distort. Hikari's whole body flashed brightly before her daggers dispersed, reforming into a long blade, it's form seemingly distant but known.

"I..I know this..it's his..."

"That's right...I've unlocked your understanding of your power..it'll take awhile to grasp, but it should seem fluent to you now. Now go all of you."

A loud roar rang out as shadows now began to scale the walls of the bakery, the brick and wood structure beginning to crumble under the pressure. Hikari looked at Birth a last time before turning and vaulting to the next building, Sora closely following behind.

"As for you...That light you carry..it does not belong to you boy. One day, I may return to collect it from you"

Birth looked upon Saken, hate filling her eyes as she returned her hood to her head, only her glowing eyes visible.

Saken's started to move when he heard a familiar sound, one that almost made his body shiver.
His eyes glanced over at Hikari as he notice chains leave her body once more.
He found his anger start to swell inside him as he put the demons aside, his attention fully focused on Hikari.
He ignored the roars and approach of the demons as he wondered if he could kill her and escape in a short amount of time.

His thoughts were interrupted as a light landed not too far from him, drawing his attention away from Hikari.
He watched speechless as the demons were destroyed by the light before his swords vanished excluding the one he held in his hand.
Once the figure's hood fell he recognized her as the woman of ill repute, he couldn't help but grimace as he looked at her before turning his attention away.

He listened as the woman spoke mentioning something about saviors and the three of them.
Somehow being the savior to such a person brought shame rather happiness.
However as she continued speaking he found her words somewhat familiar.
He had heard them somewhere before, though it wasn't until she said Kobayashi that he remembered where.
The old hag had mentioned Kobayashi, and if what this woman said was true and Hikari was his daughter then he had gotten lucky.
"The opportunity I've been waiting for," he mumbled to himself.
He started to follow after the others when Birth spoke to him mentioning his light.
"I'm more concerned about the other things you collect lady. You can call it light if it helps you live with yourself."
With that Saken turned and followed after Hikari and Sora, his attention focused on Hikari.

Human like creatures started following the three shortly after however.
They had green skin and mouths ran up the side of their twisted faces, their eyes were the nose should be.
They had long black hair that went down to their backs, the demons unlike the others wore what seemed to be black leather armor and black pants.
Saken looked back to see a glowing red orb on their right hands.
He watched them flex their arms before a blade formed from it's skin.
The creatures were silent but they followed the group, making sure to keep enough distance to follow them but remain distant enough to avoid retaliation.

"It appears the Rebirths are here as well," the cloaked man mumbled."The Handlers floating around aren't helping as they keep creating obstacles,"
The cloaked figure watched the three run off, the bodies of multiple demons behind him as Asmodeus let out a low growl.
"The place should be around here somewhere, let's hurry,"
The cloaked man stayed in the alleyway as a horde of demons ran past him on both sides.

The demons had completely consumed the market place and were making their way along the city.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kalan turned his body and started to swing at the noise behind him when he noticed who it was an stopped before he could raise his sword.
"Mirela don't do that," he said letting out a small sigh.
Turning his attention back to the approaching demons he shook his head, he didn't know why the demons were here and a part of him worried why.
Though he was happy to see that the three were safe, he had a feeling this chaos had something to do with what Birth had said.
He remembered that Mirela mentioned something about Birth speaking to Saken as well.
"He should be fine," Kalan mumbled.

He smiled at Inae's words and started to run forward when a bright light erupted nearby destroying the demons running towards them.
He looked up to see Birth but before he could ponder why she was there he heard Hikari's name.
"Kobayashi? So she's-" He cut himself off as Saken spoke to Birth.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed as he decided to speak to Saken later.
Kalan turned towards Mirela and Inae as Nala walked back over to the group.
"I'm glad you guys are safe," Kalan said before putting his sword away. "We'd better go before more demons come."
Kalan started to walk toward them when he noticed a creature standing a few feet behind Mirela and Inae.

The creature looked human except that it's peach skin seemed to cover it's entire body.
It lacked arms and stood on two skinny legs, it was shirtless with weird red markings on it's exposed chest that looked like an awkward sun.
The creature had a human sized head but lacked any facial feature other than a mouth.
It tilted it's head as it's entire body twitched before something peered over it's hairless head.
A large red eyeball was at the end of what seemed to be a long purple neck.
The eyeball looked at the three before glaring at them.
The creature opened it's mouth before letting out a loud wail, Kalan covered his ears before the creature stopped.

A brown bucket was slammed on the creatures eye causing it to stagger about and moan before falling on it's side
Behind it stood Vel who looked at the others.
"It would be a good idea for you to leave now," Vel said addressing the others. "Move towards the west side of town, the demons haven't reached there yet,"
Kalan stared at the woman as she watched them, he rubbed the back of his head seeing she was holding a broom.
He wondered how she had gotten through a horde of demons with cleaning supplies but decided not to ask and nodded.
"I would hurry, once a caller speaks it's foolish to remain in the same spot"
With that Vel turned and walked into the shadows fading into them.

Kalan looked towards Mirela and started to speak when he heard a loud screech in the distance.
He turned to see hordes of demons running in their direction from the horizon.
Eight Grandfather carriers brought up the rear as twenty-seven rifters ran towards the three.
Behind them were forty-seven crawlers and twelve feeders with eight carriers waddling near the feeders.
"Oh come on! Justice and Love!"
Two Kalan's stepped out of Kalan, one in complete white, the other with pink hair and clothing.
Justice and Love summoned swords matching the color of their clothing before getting into a fighting stance.
"Protecting the kids will be difficult with that many demons, we need to get somewhere safe. For now let's head towards the western part of town."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The demons screamed as they were burned by a green flame like energy.
Vilos reached up and adjusted his hood as the green energy vanished from his hands.
He turned his attention towards a noise, the shadows only showing one of his eyes as a girl stared at him.
He kept his hood up but lowered his hands as she stared at him, her black hair covering her left eye.
The girl wasn't a child like the ones he had killed before, she was slightly taller and looked older.
He made a guess that the creature must have been created when it was twelve years old compared to it's younger half.
"Are you a demon?"
The girl wore a ripped long sleeved shirt and a red skirt that stopped just below their knees.
Vilos flexed his hand as something seemed to be forcing it's way out of the creatures back.
"Very well, I will allow you to share the fate of the others,"
"Where is....my little.... sister?"
Vilos glared at the creature before sprinting at it bringing his hand back.

"Today just isn't our day..."

As much as Mirela wanted to stay and help out, she knew that running would be the best option, especially since she noticed that she had a crying Miu clinging to her legs. Glancing over at Kalan, Mirela gave a slight nod. "I agree. We'll find some place to hide when we get there. If there isn't such a place, I suggest that we just keep moving. We do need to get going, though.." Looking down at Miu, Mirela scrunched her nose a little bit. "Miu.. Miu please, you have to let go so we can get to safety." When she saw that Miu just wouldn't let go, she lifted her leg a little bit and gently tried to shake her off. "M-Miu..." Mirela shook her head a bit as Miu clung to her leg. "M--"

"Miu!" Inae barked at the child, finally getting her to let go. Her voice sounded a bit more strict and threatening, but it got the job done. "Listen to Mirela for once, and let's go." Her gaze wandered over to Justice and Love, which caused a shiver to shoot rapidly down her spine. "Ugh.. Not you two again..." Narrowing her eyes, she shook her head and turned back to Miu, only to see that the small child had in fact started running toward the western part of town. "Damn that child..." She muttered before she began pushing Mirela in the direction Miu had gone. "Go after her, make sure she doesn't get herself killed."

"Miu! Slow down!" Mirela quickly sped off after Miu, but quickly saw that the child was a lot faster than she had thought. Spending most of her life as a dancer, Mirela had very strong leg muscles, but they just weren't enough to catch up to the sprinting Miu. "Miu!!"

As Miu ran, she seemed completely oblivious to the world around her. She clutched tightly onto the bag in her hands as all of her senses seemed to go numb. Mirela's words didn't reach her, the only thing she could feel or hear was the sound of her heart racing within her chest. What seemed like thousands of questions raced through her mind, but she seemed to be focused on the natural instinct for survival. The world seemed to become hazy as she kept on, but Miu soon grew tired and found herself on the ground with Mirela, who had apparently managed to catch up, right behind her. "M-Momma..." Her voice was shaking, as she clung to Mirela, crying into her chest.

"Shh," Mirela whispered, keeping Miu close to her. She glanced back over her shoulder to see if anybody else had followed her, only to turn her attention right back to Miu. "You shouldn't just run off like that... I can't protect you if you don't stay near me..." She shook her head a little bit. "The damned will have to come through me if they want to get to you, I promise I'll keep you safe."

--------------------

Seeing that Mirela and Miu had disappeared from sight, Inae shook her head and glanced back at Kalan. "Are you coming or not? I suggest that we hurry, wouldn't it be a shame if they both died before we could catch up to them?" She shook her head a little bit. "Think about it, seven years of searching, only to have it end like this."

Inae went and grabbed Mirela's case before she began to briskly walk after Mirela and Miu. "Stop wasting time and hurry up!"

"So what do you suppose we do!?"

Hikari yelled back to her new founded companions, her blade slicing through a lunging crawler as they made their way across the rooftops. The demon screeched as it's body disintegrated from the light, it's body splitting in half before fading into dust. Sora was close behind, her tiny feet kicking off of a carrier as she hurled over it, her blade swinging down under her, severing the demon.

"Well, if that truly was birth then we have little choice."

Besides...You've gone and piqued my interests.."envoy"

Hikari stopped, brandishing her new blade to her side as she looked off into the distance, the sea of demons seeming never endless.

"So where the hell are we suppose to go...We can't rescue someone without knowing where they are, besides...Who would be crazy, or strong enough, to kidnap a goddess.."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the three made their escape, Birth averted her gaze down to the escaping Kalan, giving a small nod before disappearing in a flash of light.

Birth stood in a world void of existence, a blank pallet, empty of color. This was a corridor between the reality of the heavens and the world, accessible only by the most powerful light users, by becoming the very thing they weilded. In this hall of light Birth walked silently, her cloak hiding her face as she thought to herself.

"The world is slowly being swallowed in darkness by Death once more...My dearest pupil is dead, and the only hope for this world now rests in the hands of three children. This is quite the mess I've pushed them into...but it is necessary..for what is to come..."

Birth's hand raised slowly as the hall seemed to grow brighter, swallowing her entity in light before she reappeared, once more in the realm of reality, blocking Kalan's path.

"Hello...Commander of darkness, and my envoy in training, it has been quite some time hasn't it."

Birth removed her hood, a soft smile coming over her face. A small tear began to form in the deity's eye as a small army of demons leapt from the shadows, their loud screams echoing out as the goddess of life was skewered, her crimson blood staining the street.

"Forgive me..."
