[EXAM] Professor Malcolm (Group 3)

It worked! She would not be winning any cute ankle awards any time soon but she was free! And judging by her watch, she wasn't out of time yet either! Since trying to chase after an invisible dog backfired, she would have to come up with a new method for paper gathering.

Closing her eyes, she extended her arms and took a few steps, following her nose. Maybe it would steer her in the right direction! Don't let me down, super sniffer, she silently pleaded.

Oh.. phooey. She was in another darn trap. She couldn't believe that her nose let her down. A zombie had to rely on her nose! This couldn't be right! That's it, when she got back home, she would ask her parents for a new nose. A better nose. A nose she could rely on! Oh.. oh this was bad!

With one more chance, there was no way for her to pass. She was going to fail. FAIL with a big F-A-I-L. Rain Rottingham, failure! The least she could do was try to get out of the trap. Maybe she would get an E for Effort.

Pouting, she half-heartedly tugged at her foot in an attempt to free it.

There was no way around it. She had failed. She looked towards the other students and the professor with the most defeated expression that had ever graced her face. She.. failed. She let her family down. She let her professor down. She let herself down. What made getting three pieces of papers so hard?

She glanced down at the two she had and longed to rip one in half. She hated herself instantly for even thinking it. She was no cheater! She was better than that. She'd just have to try harder next time. A lot harder. And maybe be on time too.. yeah, that may certainly help.

On the bright side, she had at least pulled her foot free and two pieces of paper.. it was better than getting none at all..right?

Malcolm tapped his fingers against the top of the desk; he heard students calling for him, but he waited - who knows if they might want to use the leftover time to actually help out other students - at their own risk of course. However, one glance at the clock and he knew that the exam was over - besides, it seemed like everyone's timer had ran out.

"Mitsu, Shun and Roch," He called out, "Congrats Knobs, you had passed your exams. As proof, here is my pin." He held out three pins towards them, resting on the palm of his hand.

"Petro, Levi and Rain," He turned to the other three students, "You had failed your exams, but it was a good attempt... All three of you are now Knobs as well."

He then paused, eyeing the students before hopping off the desk, "If there is nothing else, you may leave the room."

With everyone finished with their exams, Shun turned his attention back towards Malcom. Seeing the pin offered out, he carefully took the one for him, looking it over. It was a little strange, having the emblem of a professor.

"Thank you professor," he said quietly before pocketing it. He glanced over at Roch and Mitsu, nodding to them each as they had also passed.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Hearing the Professor finally call them over now that everyone had finished, Mitsu had her way over, her hand reaching out to take the offered pin. She studied it for a moment taking in what it looked like (LOL yeah :V) before she clasped her fingers around it.

"Thank you, Professor." She bowed her head softly in thanks before looking back at her fellow students. The lycan felt a little badly for the others because honestly she expected to be in their shoes.

Putting the pin away in her pocket Mitsu smiled at Roch and Shun before she focused on the shinigami. "Ready to go?"

Nodding to Mitsu, he looked over the room briefly, then started to head on out the door quietly. He paused just the moment to see if the werewolf was coming along, then left.

She'd mostly been scouring the room looking for the source of the plant's origin. Could it ave come from all the way in Professor Cadmus' greenhouse?! without a find in the end, she had to call it quits when her schoolmates compiled by Professor Malcolm. She'd noted Mitsu and Shun there as well as Petro. The boil who'd helped her earlier.. Rex's friend... she'd have to thank him properly for helping her out even if the critter had come back for more any who. She vaguely recalled the face of the last student from the trip. The trip. She shook to take her mind off the house.

With a few bounding steps, Levi came before Malcolm and listened in. It sounded like the session was over and that she'd failed. Oh well! Next time I'll get it right!

Thanks fer the practice in examin', Professor! See ya fer tha real deal next time?

Oh tatzel...  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu tilted her head lightly listening to Levi speak. Did...she not realize this was the actual exam? Should she explain it to her? "U...uh, Levi...." No...better to let the Professor explain.

Instead Mitsu saw Shun leaving and offered a quick wave to the tatzel and the others before she trotted behind the reaper to leave.

It was a good thing that her jaw was firmly attached as it would have fallen to the floor with how wide her mouth grew! Even though she failed, he had passed her and the others anyway! She was a Knob! She wanted to pounce around the room and hug every last one of them. She was happy! Or was it relieved? Could it be both? Surely it was the best feeling ever!

"Thank you, Professor Malcolm and congrats everyone!" Her eyes were itching from tears that would never come. Professor Malcolm had always been her favorite teacher, ever since he had saved her and Witch from the fire. It felt like he saved her again today by allowing her to pass. She would make it up to him. She would work harder to get to her classes on time. She would work harder with any exams. She would be better!

She let out a soft giggle and twirled around in a circle, pigtails bouncing. The zombie ghoul finally knew what it felt like to be happy! Really happy!!! She couldn't wait to get back to her room to write the letter to her parents.

She was now Rain Rottingham, Knob!

Despite the good news that he was now a Knob, the tikbalang did not look at all pleased. He waited for the others to leave before approaching the professor. The horse boil got down on one knee, his gaze fixed firmly on the floor, "Sir, 'm requesting for permission to take this Exam again. Until I pass!"

Roch had taken the pin without a word, but nodded, giving the professor a slight grin and a two fingered salute before he headed out the door, now a Knob.

It meant, more than just that he'd passed on to the next grade, that he had a legitimate excuse to skip out for a while. He needed that.

"I'm afraid there must be some sort of a misunderstanding," He raised an eyebrow at Levi, "This is the real exam... We do not have practice examinations in Amity."

He then turned towards Petro; it was hard to tell if the Professor was smiling or frowning at his request, but after a moment of silence, nodded, "I cannot give you another exam, per say, but I can let you treat this as a obstacle course until you are able to best it. Would that be a viable option?"

To the rest of the students, he merely offered them a nod and a small smile.

The tikbalang raised his head at the Professor's words, Tro's expression a careful neutral. He knew his record would still indicate he had failed but, but this was the closest thing he could get as a "retest". And he would not stop until he passed that! "Y' have my gratitude, Professor!"

Mitsu had called for her but stopped mid sentence. Maybe she'd tell her what she needed to later on? See ya, Mitsu! She waved back to the lupine before getting a dose of reality from the Professors shocking news.

There were no...

Oh, eh... She'd really just gone through the exam. True to form, the ghoul who failed nearly every examination she had at home failed here was well. The tatzel was used to it herself, but there was concern for what her kin would think back home. Being the sort of test subject to outside schooling, Levi was one to need the high-end education that Amity provided in contrast to the shed owned by a villager back home with seats and a chalk board. Well- now she'd have to relay her exam results to her Ma. Would this effect other kin from branching out of her town?

Well then! Thanks fer tha exam, Professor! He'd certainly given her a run for her money with the use of those plants. Oh geeze... That was likely the most difficult part about explaining it to her Ma; she'd been brought down by plants. This coming from a farmer's daughter...

Coughing, she ghoul took her leave, wheels still spinning away in her head in thought of what would come next. She was a knob now. There was no getting away from sending word home.
