"I wish I could but I can't finish. And I want to be an artist. What about you? Where do you work? How old are you?" Nezumi asked, hoping to get away from talking about school.

"I'm a nurse. A school nurse, for now. I'm at the elementary school in town, though I believe I'm transferring to the high school at the start of the next school year," Ark said, ignoring the question about his age for now. "I have to get there so early. It's annoying to plan for a twenty-minute drive."

"Well, I sure do hope that this place is closer for you," Nezumi said finally sitting down beside the other. He smiled softly before he ran his finger's through his own slightly messy hair.

"It doesn't seem too far," Ark said, not pausing long before getting to his next question. "What time is it?"

Nezumi glanced down at his watch before saying, "4:21pm, why?" He never really cared what time it was, becuase he wasn't very busy. "Oh, I forgot! I do have one rule, I dont like having anyone over after 8pm, so your girlfriend cant spend the night. Sorry."

Ark gave Nezumi a strange look. "I don't have a girlfriend. I don't see where you got that impression," he said. "If I'm going to stay here," he continued, "I need to go to my apartment and get my medication, as well as clothes for tomorrow. I have to work, you know."

"You just seem like a ladys man, anyway," Nezumi said standing up once more, "I'll start cooking while your gone. And please don't forget to lock the door." He through Ark an extra set of keys, 5 gold keys. The front door alone had 3 locks on it.

Ark caught the keys, deciding not to say anything else, "Well then, I'll be back in short while." With that he left the house, locking the doors behind him, and drove to his apartment.

He returned after about an hour, but had difficulty figuring out which keys went to which locks. After some difficulty, he got all three open and re-entered the house, carrying a bag. "Hello, I'm back," he said, not wanting to startle Nezumi.

"Did you lock the door back?" Nezumi asked as he stepped out of the kitchen, he's voice had a slight nevreness to it. "D-dinner's almost ready, your room the one to your r-right." He used the towel in his right hand to point to the room, before returning to the kitchen.

Ark ignored the question, annoyed. He had just come in and hadn't had a chance to put his stuff down. He turned and locked the door, and then went to drop his stuff off in the designated room. As he exited he asked, "What did you make?"

Nezumi was picking something off the floor, when he heard Ark. "I m-made fried chicken with green beans and cornbread." He quickly threw away the glass before the other could see it, and then he quickly closed the blinds to the window over the oven. Nezumi sat down at the table still holding onto the towel. He had the food already at the table,

"Oh, okay. Why are you stammering like that?" Ark asked, noticing a different tone than earlier. Noticing Nezumi at the table, he took a seat there too.

"Well eat up~" Nezumi said with a soft smile, avoiding the others question. He wrapped the towel around his hand and got a little bit of everything.

"Well, thanks," Ark said. He took very little food and quickly finished eating. He put his elbows on the table and lightly leaned his chin on interlaced fingers, watching Nezumi. "So, what's wrong?" he asked.

"Um, did you see any cars on this road when you left or came ?" Nezumi asked, never once looking up from the table they were sitting at.
