 Rose Walters "yes, very true yet many of my girls want to link up with one of those men. Marry themselves into that life...never really understood it. Besides I guess they do not see we are all beyond marrying once we a re here for any time." The first half she said with mockery but as she spoke of marriage she got more sullen. She had once dreamed of marriage and children but that was a hope long dead to her.

John DillingerAfter hearing Rose's voice change so fast when she began to talk of marriage he knew he should probably change the topic. " So the place looks cleaner, you redecorate or something?" John said trying to find something to bring up to get off the topic.

Rose Walters Rose took a deep breath to refocus. "Ah yes, Amber left a little life insurance with that we fixed the place up like she had always imagined it. Worse part is the cops didn't car she was hit by a drunk. I filed a report and that was as far as it went..." It was unfortunate but, not uncommon. Amber had no family and she was thought of as just more street trash. It was no surprise the powers that be did not do anything.

Rose Walters Reaching to put one of her hands on his she gave it a squeeze. "I do not doubt it but the only clue was a wrecked up car and an old German knife in the glove box. It could of belonged to anyone form the war, or even someone that got it sent back from someone in the war. I tried to find more but could not." She said sullenly. Amber had been her friend and mentor the fact that her killer got off scott free sat very badly with her.

Rose Walters Rose called over one of her girls and sent them to her office. "I got the knife off of a cop for a case of scotch. Susan is getting it." Rose said slyly. When Susan returned she had another beer for Dillinger and another champagne for Rose. Taking the knife in hand she looked at iut briefly before handing it over to John. (Byakko Yasutsuki is 'Gerulf' we had talked about him being the on to have done the hit and run. PM him if you want to pursue that angle, I think it would be good for the rp.)

John took the knife and examined the hilt. " That's German alright. Might need to look into this later." He said as he stuck the knife into his trenchcoat.
(Gotcha, haven't checked with him yet so I'm not confirming the search.)

Rose Walters "Thank-you John, I appreciate this." She said as she squeezed his hand. "SO where are you staying the old Agincourt or are you looking for a place still? And if you plan to stay a little longer I can have the cook throw something on for you." Rose was grateful to have someone helping her look for Amber's killer, it did not matter if it was an accident or not. She would still avenger her friend and mentor.

The premiere gala has started at The Rising Phoenix displaying the new burlesque hall...and a little more to the world. All of Chicago has been invited to the spectacle. so come down see and bee seen. Miss. Walters plans to show not just Chicago but the world things they have never seen before, anywhere or at any time!

A month has passed in the windy city of Chicago. It is now early April Spring may be here but there is still a n** in the evening air. It leaves you raw much like the long held tension of the uneasy truce between the gangs. The only question now is who will strike first and where?

The new girl Fiona had worked out like a dream. She was beautiful and had the charm of a count girl. Now she was looking for some new girls to finish out a big routine. This was to be themed after 'A Midsummer Night Dream' and would open on the first of June. She already had Shayla working on costumes, now she needed to find he last few girls to fill out the few remaining routines. Fiona was going to be Titania and that was certain, this may be the even that catapulted the young girl to real stardom!

Rose Walters She could not believe it a few days before the opening of her 'Midsummer Nights Dream' Fiona was dead! The young girl was going to be a singer and become a star like she had wanted this was going o be her big break. The show would have to be canceled and The Rising Phoenix would remain a seedy place. She had called the police when she head about the murder she wanted to offer her help. Rose watched out for her girls like an older sister, she had lst Amber to a drunk driver, now she had lost young Fiona to murder.
