Resistance against his Tablets? Interesting. But foolish. "I said," Anzu said slowly, his voice deepening from influence. "SCREAM."

Galatea could finally no longer hold back. Her mouth flew open, screaming at the top of her lungs in pain.

Anzu let out a sickening chuckle. "That's right, call him over her. Call him to his d-" Before he could even finish his sentence, a flurry of wind traveled towards him. Eyes widening only slightly, Anzu quickly turned away and narrowly dodged the sharp slices of air, his change of focus causing the Tablets to release Galatea.
As the wind and the dirt it carried settled, the phoenix demon glowered at the man a few feet away from him. "How long have you been hiding there," he asked then narrowed his eyes and hissed, "Enlil?"

The storm god stared hard at the demon of his past, his fury matching his. "Long enough to listen to you rant, you cocky ba$tard." he muttered as the wind roared behind him.

The embodiment fell to the ground, clutching her stomach in anguish. "E-Enlil...leave! Wh-while you still c-can!" she begged.

"We're in this together, Galatea!" Enlil yelled at her. He looked away from her just in time to see a few tendrils of dark blue shoot towards him. Thanks to his instincts, the storm god managed to jump to the side and dodge them. He glowered at the demon. "Your aim is pathetic." he taunted.

The taunt gained results. Anzu seethed through grit teeth and crossed his arms tightly, the blue aura slithering around him. "Let me retry that then." he responded as the tendrils shot out at him again.

Enlil dodged, and when one shot back around at him he took a deep breath and blew out a strong gust of wind, blowing it back, at least enough for him to dodge. He turned to see several more tendrils fly out. Pure agile skills would no longer help. Enlil dodged tendril after tendril, but as he said earlier, he was getting tired and his skills would not hold for long. He glanced at Anzu, the demon nearly smirking at his dismay. But he was focused.
Clapping his hands together, Enlil caused the sky to darken and thunder with his growing anger. It did not faze the demon.
But the lightning that shot at him did.

Anzu gazed at the skies only briefly, assuming that the storm god would try to blow back his aura. It would be no use, he'd only have several more following. A flicker of light ran across the sky. Lightning? Did Enlil hope to ward off his aura by - Oh no. Quickly losing his focus on his toy, Anzu looked up just in time to see a bolt of lightning scratch out of the clouds to him.

Once the lightning made contact with Anzu, the blue aura vanished. Enlil smirked and allowed himself a quick break, panting heavily. His gaze never left the spot Anzu was. And the reason for doing so was right. The dirt in the air from the contact of the lightning settled to reveal two large, brown, feathery wings folded together. Enlil clenched his jaw as the wings unfolded to show an angry Anzu.

With her last bouts of energy, Galatea shot thousands of thick vines at Anzu as he stood before Enlil, wrapping around his legs, torso, arms, everything. She panted heavily, unable to even look up and see if it had worked.

Anzu turned in surprise to see the vines sprout from the ground to contain him. What? How did that wretched girl still have energy? Too late to react, the phoenix demon grit his teeth as he was restrained, glaring at the approaching storm god.

"Pride gets you nowhere, Anzu." Enlil said as he got closer and closer to the demon, his eyes resting on the dog tags against his chest. "Your reign of terror ends now."

Anzu lowered his head until his scarlet hair covered his eyes. His disgruntled frown twisted into a sick smirk. "'Pride gets you nowhere.'" he repeated slowly, making the storm god stop and stare at him uneasily. "You'd make the absolute perfect example for that." And just as Enlil's eyes widened in realization, the Tablets shined and dark blue aura exploded around Anzu, shooting straight into the god without a moment's hesitation.

She bit her lip, standing despite her exhaustion. "A-Anzu...why...why are you d-doing this?" she asked, stumbling towards him, her dress falling in tatters around her. "You...always t-tolerated the hu-humans."

"Just because you pitied these bottom-feeders doesn't mean I did." Anzu said slowly and shot her a brief glance before looking to Enlil, who struggled against his invisible restrains. It was almost like looking into a mirror, only Anzu was calm now that he had a pawn. "Now that I have you under my control," he said, his voice gaining its influence. "Release me."

Enlil fought against the invisible strings the Tablets of Destiny wound around him. How could he fall for the trap so easily! Stupid! Now all humanity was going to pay for his arrogance!
Without being given a chance to wallow in his self-loathing, Anzu gave his command with the Tablets powering him up. An immediate slave to his own Tablets, Enlil quit fighting off his restraints and stared out at the vines wrapped around Anzu. With a wave of his hand lightning shot down from the sky and slashed the vines in half, releasing the demon.

"Ah, that feels better." Anzu murmured while rubbing his freed wrist. He could never get used to controlling beings with the Tablets. "Now what to do with you..." he said in almost a taunting manner as he turned to Galatea, his gaze especially dark.

"It wasn't pity," she said, sighing. "It was faith. Blind faith, but faith nonetheless." Looking out at him, she bit her lip as an idea sprang to her mind. "I was stupid to believe humans can change when they obviously can't. They're killing my beautiful world and for what? So I can die at the hands of another, fighting for them? It's ridiculous!" Galatea trembled as her blood fell to the ground, and didn't look as flowers started to grow and bloom from the scarlet blood. "But people can change, just like we can. It is more than just faith, Anzu. It is trust. You kill the embodiments by destroying the human race, and the gods as well!"

"Silence!" Anzu snarled and strode towards her, delivering a swift backhanded blow to her face. "Your pride makes you speak gibberish, you are only speaking anything your dying mind will allow!" he spat.
In the midst of his rage, Enlil managed to twitch his arm on his own. His eyes widened for a second until he remembered the most important rule when manipulating the Tablets: never lose focus. Anzu was too angry with Galatea to keep control of him, and he could even see it with less fog around them. Enlil looked at Galatea with worry in his eyes. If she could keep distracting Anzu long enough he could attack and get his Tablets back, but there was a good chance - especially with the state she was in now - that she wouldn't make it.

She fell to the ground, then looked up and glared at him. "You are a coward! We can teach and learn so much from these humans, and we thrive on their worship and lives! You fool, you will die if you destroy them." She stood once more, wiping the blood from her lip. Galatea knew perfectly well she would die like this, but better to die and save the world, than live and know what you have done. "You kill us all with your radical ideals and stupid plots!"
