[FIN] The Morning After

As he sat at the edge of the bed, her eyes scanned his back, lingering on the long thin scar across his shoulders.

Unable to stop herself, she reached out and let her fingers ghost along it, just barely touching his skin. It made her sad to see it there, but at the same time...

...hm.

Suspecting nothing, Yuri was pulling out the blanket when he felt the finger on his back. His eyes went wide as he felt electricity going down his spine, causing him to jump slightly, and having to grab a handful of the sheets to keep him from falling off the edge of the bed.

"Whoa!" Black eyes now peering over at Dove. Okay what just happened there?

Dove's eyes went wide and she jerked her arm back, squirming as his fingers gripped the sheets next to her, skimming her side. When he turned to look at her, she turned away, sitting up a bit in his bed.

"S-Sorry..." she stuttered, tucking her hair back behind her ear. "I just... um..."

How was she supposed to explain that away? 'Oh, you have a strong back and I find that highly attractive?' 'Sorry, I just really wanted to touch you?'

She sighed. 'Scars are sexy' would have been just as appropriate as all the others, she thought to herself.

When she sat up, Yuri brought up the blanket and placed it in her lap, his smirk returning to his face.

However, something else caught his attention when he watched her tuck some hair behind her ear. Huh, did she always do that when she felt uneasy?

He reached out and tucked another loose strand back behind her ear. She had missed one.

When his fingers brushed the back of her ear, Dove shivered and she turned away quietly, blushing even more fiercely; the backs of her ears were a sensitive spot, one that she rarely told people of.

As he stilled, she turned her eyes back to him, biting her lip.

At her reaction to his touch, Yuri's eyes sparkled mischievously. Oh ho, seems that he had stumbled across something. Since she wasn't complaining, he decided to run with it and pulled his legs up to kneel on the bed.

Reaching forward, his hand grasped the headboard and he leaned in towards Dove. Getting rather close... very close actually. Close enough to whisper in her ear if he so chose. But he said nothing, and let the breath on her ear do all the talking.

He was close. Too close. When his breath crossed her ear, she shuddered, gasping. Chill-bumps spread down her arms.

Moving a hand to his chest as if to push away, Dove shied back a bit, never breaking eye contact with the man once their gazes met. She left her fingers splayed there, across his collarbone, her other hand curled at her own chest.

"Ah..."

A sly grin spread across Yuri's lips at Dove's gasp. Seemingly having gotten the reaction he was looking for.

However, when he felt her hand on his chest, he pulled back just enough to look at her face to face. Black eyes staring back while yet remaining very close.

Unsure if that was a signal for him to stop, or not.

She stared a moment longer, mental battle raging in her head.

She couldn't do this... she had a boyfriend, and though they had fought...

Yuri was just a friend. A very attractive friend, yes, but just a friend. Nothing like this. So why, she thought, was her hand sliding to the back of his neck as if to draw him closer? Her other hand curled around his upper arm.

The girl held her breath as her fingers slid into his hair at his nape.

"Y-Yuri..."

Yuri knew better, he really did. This was starting to go a bit too far. But as her hand slid around the back of his neck, dark eyes closed and he let her pull him closer. His nose lightly brushing against hers.

When Dove's fingers slid into his hair, there was a slight twitch of his eyebrow as well. He was... starting to lose it.

"Hm?"

Oh, forget it.

She had left her family and society as it was. She didn't have to go back to them, and her boyfriend had been horrible to her the previous morning. She had made it this far on her own... why should she care what they thought?

Forcing the voice of reason out of her mind and tightening her fingers in his hair, she pulled him closer and kissed him deeply.

Well, join the club. Yuri didn't have a family, and he lived in a society that wasn't exactly respectable anyway. Welcome to his world, Dove. You're more than welcome to stick around for a while.

Yuri's brows furrowed slightly at the tightening of his hair. That kinda hurt a little, but he didn't seem to mind. Especially, when her lips connected with his in another kiss. Breathing in deeply, Yuri actually kissed her back this time.

Releasing his hand from the head board, he instead brought it to the side of Dove's face. Using his weight to push her down onto the bed.

As he pressed her into the bed, she arched her back to him, moving her lips against his in reckless abandon.

How long had it been since a man had kissed her like this? Her boyfriend had been growing distant even before she had left on her travels... She hadn't felt this kind of heat in months.

Her hold on his hair steady, she broke a moment to breathe, then twisted her head for a new angle, this time meeting his lips with a soft n** before they connected.

There was a faint grunt from Yuri at the n**, and he pressed his lips back against hers more fervently than before. His tongue also managing to sneak in there at some point.

It had been some time, hadn't it? When was the last time he'd had this sort of moment with a woman? Certainly not since he'd come to Kodo.

His hands also then started to roam. Finding their way down Dove's sides and then sliding up and underneath her shirt, touching bare skin. Threatening to relieve her of the clothing completely.

And then he...

...

Was standing over her, blinking in confusion. Having gotten fully dressed at some point, he was now gently shaking Dove's shoulder.

"Hey..."

At the touch to her shoulder, Dove's eyes snapped open, her body ridged and covered in a cool sweat.

Oh God. Oh God.

"Oh my god."

The girl immediately sat up, grabbing at her torso, her head narrowly missing the man's face in her panic.

She froze as the cloth of her clothes crumpled in her hands, relieved. Her eyes glanced to the nightstand, the short amount of time that had passed further reassuring her.

Never, in all her life, had she had such a vivid dream.
