[FIN] "The Week"

Jabari was next to Bro instantly, glaring daggers at the Gastly. He spat, angrily floating around the two. The Gastly cried, obviously terrified by the Gengar's appearance. Jabari crowded into the frightened pokemon's face, This did nothing to calm the Gastly, in fact...it only made him cry harder. Just as the Shuppet went to make good on his threat, Zacharie appeared beside them, the Jirachi still clinging to his shoulders. "Jabari, you're scaring it." He scolded lightly as he reached through the pokemon to usher the Gastly from between the two bigger pokemon. He took a second to be grateful that he'd pulled some gloves on before coming over since the Gastly easily came along. "Shuppet!" He ignored the irritated Shuppet in favor of inspecting the cowering pokemon. "...It's alright. That's just how you are." He murmured in what he hoped to be a soothing manner. "Gast-Gastly!" Said pokemon scurried around to hid behind the teen when Jabari made an abortive, aggressive motion towards him.

Bro would have had a lot of fun with this, holding a wide wicked grin on his face while Jabari floated over and told the Gastly off too. that plan was shot to s**t though when suddenly Zacharie had walked over, much to Bro's surprise and peeled the Gastly out of his grip.

Slightly bewildered with the fact that the human had gone from screaming and panicky to suddenly composed and was now comforting the ghost that Bro wanted to use as a basket ball.
The Gengar grumbled toward the purple haired boy.

Not a moment later and the group was suddenly joined by a white clad man with contrasting eyes, staring in on the group and looking around in slight confusion "******** s'goin' on? I heard you scream."

Zacharie may be afraid of things like generic, unrealistic ghosts and things that moved quickly, but he was not afraid of ghost pokemon. There was always a reason behind their behavior and they were relatively easy to predict because of it. "...That thing you did...that was good." The teen muttered quietly, giving Bro a small, awkward smile before returning his attention to the Gastly cowering behind him. "It's alright, I won't let you get hurt." He soothed, trying to coax the pokemon back in front of him. It didn't take too much effort though because as soon as Jerome entered the room it let out a frightened, "Gastly!" And attempted to shove itself up the front of his shirt. "I didn't scream." He said quickly. "It was your Jirachi."

Bro stared at Zacharie for a couple of seconds, trying to understand what he had just said, before he slowly squinted one eye, and gave him a nod.

Looking over at Jerome who had just arrived, the Gengar crossed his arms, chuckling at what Zacharie had told the ex-gangster.
The Jirachi however, looked surprised, glancing from Zacharie toward Jerome.

As if Suddenly aware that Jerome was in the room, the Jirachi remembered what Zacharie had told him, "I have to giive it to Jerome!" it burst out, and suddenly flew over toward the older man, "Oh no! you took your mask off too! " the Jirachi yelped when he looked over and saw Zacharie had pulled him down, rushing back over to him "Oh no!"
this wasn't good! He said they needed the masks!

When the Jirachi quickly averted the blame back to him, Zacharie shook his head adamantly and pointed right back. "He screamed too." He blurted, face flushed in embarrassment. It wasn't just him that had been scared! He was relieved when the little talking pokemon changed the subject effectively. "Oh, right." He said absently, tugging on his bandanna a bit. "Good job, you remembered the importance of our masks." He praised, patting the Jirachi on the head as he tugged his mask back over his face with his free hand. It really was a very bright pokemon for being so young. "...Gastly?" Oh right, he'd nearly forgotten about the poisonous pokemon currently trying to hide under his uniform shirt. "...A Gastly found us." He told the older man with a slight shrug.

Jabari shouted, moving to shove the Gastly away.

A flicker of amusement crossed Jerome face as Zacharie and the Jirachi pointed blame at one another.
Jerome was about to ask what happened when he too took a renewed notice of the Gastly.
Made sense, the ghost probably startled them.
"Yeah looks like it, looks kinda upset, ya guys battle?"
Jerome asked, walking over to put a hand on the angry Jabari's head.

The Jirachi smiled when his head was pat, reaching back to try and tug the Bandana off of him so he could give it to Jerome.

"Bro scared him." Zacharie said as he untied the bandanna that the Jirachi was wearing at settling it into its small hands. "Shuppet!" Jabari ducked out from beneath Jerome's hand and stuck his tongue out at the agent. "...Jabari frightened him as well." He added, rolling his eyes. He supposed that it was a big deal to a ghost pokemon whether or not it scared someone else. "...Gastly." The quivering pokemon muttered meekly, peering up at Zacharie as if he might be angry. "I don't think he's really looking to fight." The teen said, giving Jerome a quizzical look. "....Can I keep him?" He asked suddenly, his tone obviously excited.

Jabari instantly protested, but the Gastly just gave them a confused look. The pokemon huffed. The Gastly cried.

The Jirachi beamed when Zacharie helped him remove the bandanna, gathering up the fabric into his small arms so he could float over and hand it to Jerome. "Here, you need this."

"Can ya keep it?" Jerome repeated, grinning at Jabari as the pokemon ducked away before he arched an eyebrow and looking back at Zacharie and the clearly upset Gastly
"S'ya want, he seems like he's kinda attached t'ya."
Taking the bandanna from the Jirachi, he placed it over his mouth and nose, holding it there instead of tying it on. He didn't really think he needed it, but there wasn't any point in really arguing about it.

"PANSY" the Jirachi cheered, knowing that from when Jabari said it before.

The Gastly exclaimed, the gas around him expanding in his irritation. "Stop calling people pansies, Jabari." Zacharie scolded as he reached out to cradle the upset pokemon between his hands again. "Stop it." He said as firmly as he could, which wasn't particularly firm at all. Surprisingly though, the Gastly calmed down and became quiet. This...had never really happened before. He felt giddy, a pokemon had actually listened to him! "Yes, I think I will keep him." He muttered, almost to himself. Jabari screeched over the Gastly's happy babbling. "Should we keep exploring the building?" The teen asked Jerome, turning his attention away from his new pokemon.

Jerome chuckled as he watched the younger rocket handle the Gastly in his hands. "Ya know how t'handle that one." He noted with a grin. When Bro was a Gaslty he didn't behave anything like that, it certainly did a lot to show the different nature of different pokemon, but it was funny, how you ended up with the pokemon that just complements you. Jerome would not have done as well with a pokemon like that, Naw, Bro' was perfect for him as this one seemed to be for Zacharie.

"F'ya want, ya ain't battled anythin' yet. but F'ya had enough runnin around gettin' startled by s**t." He left his offer open, with a single shoulder shrug.

"I would like to be able to practice fighting." Zacharie said thoughtfully, "Not just for Jabari but now I'll need to see what...Essex, can do." Essex being his Ghastly. The name had come right off the top of his head, perhaps he had read it somewhere recently. "Gast Gastly!~" Essex preened, obviously enjoying his new name. "...Essex it is then." The teen murmured with a quick nod and a small smile. "Will you be staying in here with us?" He asked Jerome hopefully. He had all of these pokemon to look after him but if he happened to run into a pokemon that he could battle...he wouldn't know what to do.

The Agent crossed his arms with a slight nod, a few matted locks of hair falling further across his face, not bothering to knock them away as he watched the new pokemon get a name.
"Hm" The older man grunted, it would have been nice to see how high he could get on the buildings here, but it seemed like it would probably be a better idea to stay with the trainee, and make sure that something bad didn't happen, at least until he got his pokemon trained up a little more.
"Ye" He nodded, "yea might as well show ya how s'done n's**t." He glanced over at Bro who grinned wide back at Jerome and nodded.

Uncrossing his arms and placing the cloth back over his mouth after some hesitance "I really need this thing?"

The Jirachi's eyes widened, and he nodded very seriously "Yes. Zacharie said so!"

"You don't have to if you don't want to, you'll just be breathing in dead animal and fungus spores that could line the insides of your lungs and eat you from the inside out." Zacharie said nonchalantly with a shrug. "Do whatever you want." With that, he motioned for Essex and Jabari to follow him down the dark hallway.

<...Is he sure that I don't need one of those?> Jabari muttered after a moment before following after his human. Essex hovered happily over the teen's head, keeping an eye out for any other pokemon. He knew for a fact that there were other Gastly in here, but the other pokemon tended to keep to themselves.

Jerome hesitated for a few moments after Zacharie explained what might happen and walked away. his eyes a little wide in surprise glancing over at Bro who also widened his eyes, lips peeling apart in a uncertain frown.

Jerome put the mask back over his face, reaching back to tie it into place as he moved to lazily catch up with Zachaire.
kicking a wall or a fallen rock as he passed, causing quite a bit of noise as he went. Hoping to draw the attention of a pokemon that might be lingering near by.

Whatever Jerome was doing seemed to work, as there was a howl of something down the hall and a crash, followed by silence.
"got yer boys?" Jerome asked, stepping up next to the younger rocket.

Zacharie glanced up at Jabari and Essex uncertainly before nodding. "Y-Yeah." He stuttered out, reaching up to part his bangs a bit so he could try to see what was coming. He didn't see anything though, it was much too dark for him to see. "Shuppet Shup pet." Jabari seemed ready for whatever was coming and that was a relief because Essex was trying to hide behind his shoulder. "...Don't hide, Essex." He muttered with a roll of his eyes. Though he startled easy he wasn't easily scared. There's a difference, be quiet. "Will I want to make the first move?" The teen asked, glancing over at Jerome. "Or should I wait until it does something?"
